Take back your life
All the actors were just excellent. This drama series gives the details of what bullying can do. You were able to see from both sides of those being bullied and the bullies. It also makes you see, what is your role as a person watching the actions of a person being bullied. When we see the gangster take over the role of the teenager. He is able to enlighten and teach a better way. As adults communication is needed and observation on what's going on in your teens life. This is a drama series that would be a great watch with young people to educate them. It was short sweet and to the point. When lyou make a choice you must take accountability for your actions. Was this review helpful to you?

MUST WATCH!!!
Oh my gosh! This was such a good drama. I expected something lighthearted and fun but this was way more that that. The cast could not have been better! Personally, I'm an emotional person so I cried heaps during the last episode.Mixed feelings on the ending-but it was still a great drama. Binged it in one day.
Would LOVE another season!!! Fell in love with the actors for this.

This kdrama felt like 2017
I felt like I got transported back to 2017. The cinematography, the setting, the story felt so nostalgic which I really liked. It felt like a fresh take from other recent kdramas which isn't a bad thing at all but I liked it.( I am aware this is an adaptation from a BL manhwa)Anyway aside from that, the 8 episodes felt so short 🥲. In a sense that I wanted to see more of the two ML hahaha. However the drama really did a job well done at tying and summing everything up to the last episodes. the drama didnt drag the plot for long nor did the pace felt too fast. Personally, it really ended on a good note despite being short-lived.
If i had anything to say bad about this one at all then it would be that I was able to watch this in a day 🥲🥲
im gonna miss my boys so much!! will go on and continue their story through the manhwa.
If you decide to watch this then you should mind its only 8 episodes. Definitely don't expect anything of a grand ending lol. I rate dramas generously so I'd say this is a decent watch.
overall a 10/10 🤞🏻❤️
a must watch? not necessarily no 😗

Righteous Gangster teaches about Life & Friendship! (A Short, Must Watch Drama)
This drama is heart-warming with tinge of action & comedy focusing on deep topics of bullying, child abuse, chaebol politics, family, friendships & life! Not your general soul/body swap drama, this one takes you on a ride in a crisp format of 8 episodes, that is satisfying in terms of plot, acting, music, visuals - putting it my list of best dramas of 2024, and definitely one of the best in short drama category.➥ Best Parts:
• ML Yoon Chan Young's dual role as an ahjusshi possessed high-schooler and emo-high school kid. Perfect Voice & Acting!
• Perfect action sequences!
• Great depiction & addressal of issues of school bullying, child abuse - with actual and hint of remorse & reformation.
• The gangster sidekicks were amazing - scary, charismatic, comedic but overall loyal. Delight to watch!
• ML giving love/care/respect to those who deserve it, and kicking as where needed.
• ML relationship with SML: starts on the wrong foot but quickens to a great bromance, making SML overcome his own fears.
• The ending - bittersweet, but happy and satisfying!
• The antagonist is a killer actress, even in less screentime, she gives a mean hateful aura. Shows a job done well!
➥ Special mention: Won Tae Min playing Dong Soo is handsome & talented, looking forward to see him in other dramas
➥ Weak Parts:
None - speaking in terms of Story, Acting, Cast, Music and every other metric. But feeling-wise, it was not a masterpiece when I compare it to other dramas I have seen in my life. Still a very, very, very good drama especially done well in a short format.
➥ Overall: Highly Recommended to Watch!
8 Episodes + Good Plot, Acting, Music, Visual + Satisfying Pace & Ending. Also, Yoon Chan Young is an actor to watch out for - his voice and visuals are definitely noteworthy! ❤️

had me HOOKED
im the type of person who loved 'school 2013'. this one reminded me of it quite a bit. high school drama in the best way: fists flying, bonds forming, characters growing as people.i was a bit doubtful at the start as things looked a bit blue but once the gangster took over his soul omg... i lived for the hype moments. normally i wouldn't like soul swap of this kind cuz like hello it's still an adult in his body (i would rather prefer some other tough guy of same age)??? but they did it wonderfully in this drama. i loved how there was no romance factor too (some shows make it creepy). the gangster genuinely tried so hard to make a good life out of it for the kid. it was selfless and so fucking awesome as a character.
the ending made a lot of sense. song yi heon's soul stayed to hear the apologies from people who hurt him (even choi se kyung) and once justice was done, he didn't have any attachment left on earth. he had suffered enough and deserved to be see himself happy, have friends, see his mother recover before he could rest in peace. kim deuk pal on the other hand, despite old, had a lot of life in him. it's fair that song hi yeon entrusted his body to his soul.
i understand why people are upset with the BL aspect being removed but honestly i don't see how it would have played out. yes, it would have made more sense in context of the bullying. but other than that, the drama was great. i don't think dramas like this needs romance.
anyways, i love redemptions or at least bullies ending up helping somehow. great job! good story, better bonds. absolutely binge watch worthy!

Incredible drama!
I discover this show a bit by chance as I was scrolling through the list updates of another user. And I'm glad I did because I would have missed a masterpiece of a show.Yet, the plot is not that original as it reminded me of the film The Dude in Me which I really loved too: a gangster's soul switching body with a high schooler (even though, in this one, the gangster's body actually dies...). But this drama was still unique in its own way as it portrays very interesting characters and tackles very important topic such as bullying, psychological abuse and many other things that it will be better for you to see by yourself. I admit that I was a bit disappointed at first when I learnt that the story was originally a BL but that they have censored that part of the novel. I didn't really understand why they did that as South Korea produces more and more BL dramas nowadays. But watching the drama, I didn't really mind that they've changed it and I was actually glad they did. Because I'm all for BL novels and manhuas to be adapted on screen but, let's be honest, it would have been really weird to see an almost 50-year-old guy (even though he's in a high schooler's body) fall in love with an 19-year-old student. I don't know if this is really what happens in the novel - as I haven't read it - but it would've been really weird to see in the drama.
Apart from the plot, I absolutely loved the characters and the actors even more. Yoon Chan Young was amazing at portraying two characters so different from each other. I could totally believe he was an ajusshi in this 19-year-old body. He made me laugh, cry and I was saying to myself the whole time that he deserved more fame for his wonderful acting skills. Before I finally checked his filmography and noticed that he's actually quite famous already. No wonder his face was familiar as he played in All of Us Are Dead that I watched quite some time ago. Bong Jae Hyun also deserves all the attention because, even though, he only plays one role, he also made me laugh but mostly cry and doubt his character at first (I really thought he could be an antagonist at the very beginning of the story). The way he plays Se Kyung was wonderful and I absolutely loved his character. The abuse that Se Kyung goes through is truly heart-wrenching and I was glad to see him stand up for himself at the end of the drama. I should also mention Joo Yoon Chan as Jae Min. His character was maybe despicable but his redemption arc was, I think, fantastic.
I will end this review by saying that I was surprised, but also glad, to see a familiar face as a BL lover: Won Tae Min. I see this guy in more and more dramas and I'm happy for him. Hope it will continue this way for him.
Anyway, if you haven't watched this drama yet, what are you waiting for?!

The best ongoing kdrama I've ever watched
Tbh, this drama is so so underrated, why we're not hyping the dramas that deserves! Every character nailed there roles, Yoon chan young, the way with too much potential and strength he portray the both characters is just something everyone can't do, and he came, devoured and left no crumbs, I'll highly recommend this drama to those who enjoyed school dramas, this is what school looks like, not they're showing nowadays! Was this review helpful to you?
“Not a Villain. Not a Hero. Just the Adult Every Child Deserves.”
He Wasn’t a Gangster. He Was the Adult This World Rarely Produces. Period.I started this drama thinking it would be a simple body-swap story.
I was wrong.
This wasn’t just entertainment. It felt like watching a real youth documentary — about a bullied, lonely, abandoned boy who had absolutely no one. Not even a fake “I’m your friend” kind of friend.
He was weak, tired, and done with life. And the drama doesn’t make it dramatic for fun. It shows how quiet and painful that kind of loneliness really is. His soul was already dead before his body tried to give up.
And then destiny said, “No. Not today.”
A gangster’s spirit enters his body.
But let’s be honest — he wasn’t a gangster. He was the adult this world rarely produces. He protected him. He stood up to bullies. He taught him confidence. He cared.
The bromance? Beautiful.
Not cringe. Not forced. Just pure protection and real friendship.
And I’m still confused how a drama with this concept can be this good. A body-swap story had no right to be this emotional, this meaningful, this well written.
It didn’t just show bullying. It showed what happens when someone finally stands beside a broken kid and says, “You matter.”
More than a black diamond.
Period.

A quality show
When I think on it or talk about the finale too much, there's many things that can be said to have been disappointing or falls short; maybe some would even say "unsatisfying" HOWEVER when I actually watch the show, I enjoy it. It's a surprisingly wholesome story and for me, its conclusion is totally fitting and subverted expectations. The actors did such a good job and it was a nice balance of humor and heart. After watching this, I wanted to see the actors in more projects and even see them act together again.
It's just a good and entertaining show.

one of the best kdramas I’ve watched
(firstly, English is not my mothertongue so I might have some grammar mistakes )it’s truly one of the best kdramas I’ve watched (even though I haven’t watched that much kdramas yet). everything was so good. I started it with no expectations and it really surprised me in a good way.
it was sooo funny like I’ve never laughed that much in a serie. I’ve loved every single character and I’ve really liked how we’ve got a backstory of everyone. Jae-min’s character development warmed my heart. everyone were so cute even the gangsters or the bullies (especially jaemin). The casting was also really good I especially loved how Yoon chanyoung has the main role, he was so good in this role (and so fine ).
anyway I really recommend it .
I know that I’m kinda late like it was released a year ago but it’s because I just started watching k dramas two months ago so I’m new, also I’m not really good at explaining my thoughts but I tried to do my best so plz bear with me :)
