A hidden gem for those who appreciate life stories
My Lovely Journey is a drama that invites us on a path of self-discovery and healing through the eyes of a former idol. Moving away from typical romance clichés, it embraces a more introspective and emotional narrative, offering a refreshing and calming experience. The Story
The plot follows Kang Yeo-reum (Gong Seung-yeon), a former idol who, after facing hardships, finds a new purpose as a travel reporter. Her work takes her to different destinations, where she meets people who help her heal and rediscover what truly matters in life. Along the way, she connects with Lee Yeon-seok (Kim Jae-young), a pragmatic yet mysterious man, and Oh Sang-sik (Yoo Joon-sang), a warm and kind mentor figure, each bringing their own lessons.
What Works
Meaningful characters and relationships: The show shines in building empathy and genuine connections, going beyond romance. The cast chemistry feels authentic and moving.
Healing and relaxing atmosphere: With its slow pacing, beautiful locations, and gentle cinematography, the drama feels like taking a journey alongside the characters, perfect for unwinding after a long day.
Focus on personal growth: Yeo-reum’s journey highlights the value of honesty, simplicity, and rediscovering happiness beyond public pressure, making the story relatable.
What Could Be Better
Lack of strong drama: Viewers looking for fast-paced twists and emotional highs may find the narrative too slow. Its calm tone is both its greatest strength and a possible drawback.
Verdict
My Lovely Journey is a hidden gem for those who appreciate life stories, healing, and personal growth. It’s not about grand revelations, but about the quiet steps that bring us home. A thoughtful, soothing drama that celebrates travel, human connection, and the beauty of slowing down.

Visually Healing – A Gentle Escape into the Comforts of Simplicity
My Lovely Journey has been a truly healing watch for me. I connected deeply with the lead character, especially her background of growing up in a protective environment, never really needing to do things on her own. Watching her step out of that comfort zone and experience solo travel was incredibly relatable—it felt like watching someone live out something I’ve always wanted to do but never had the courage for.The solo traveling, paired with the way each place is captured in its raw essence, is honestly beautiful. The cinematography is soothing—it's as if the camera lingers just enough to let you soak in the serenity of every scene. It’s light and easy to watch, with no heavy complications or emotional chaos, which makes it perfect when you're looking for something simple yet meaningful.
The cast is another strength of this drama. Every actor feels well-suited for their role, and nothing about their performances feels forced or cringey. Their portrayals are natural and thoughtful, and the story moves along slowly but surely—never abrupt, never confusing. That steady pace, paired with the quiet charm of the storytelling, makes it really enjoyable to follow.
While the plot may not be packed with excitement or major twists, the visuals, the subtle emotional beats, and the peaceful tone make it a treat for the eyes and heart. I’ve loved the lead actors in their past projects, and they continue to impress here as well.
I’d definitely recommend this to anyone looking for an easy, uncomplicated, and visually appealing drama to relax with.

This show focuses on slice of life with little bit of drama surrounding all the characters
The fiest episode itself made me feel a lot of emotions, its a slice of life drama, dont expect thsi drama would have plot like a big twist or cute sweet romance , ofc the ml like the fl, but its not just that, fl has way long to go before starting a new relationship with the ml, and i think its propbably gonna happen in seaspn 1, this drama is something you should watch when you dont want any stress and just relax and have a cup of coffee for yourself and slowly enjoy the dramaWas this review helpful to you?

Just take the Journey!!
This was a very intriguing series and enjoyed the idol aspect. Some might find the pacing too slow, but I thought it was just right. Although the content was not bad, the script was not completely perfect. It just had some weird aspects to it. However, it did a great job introducing the characters and giving the right amount of their backstories. The script also successful showed how each travel client’s story reflected what was going on in the main storyline. Here’s an unpopular opinion, I thought it had the right amount of romance. It gave you just enough without overpowering the series. The whole cast was incredible, including all of the guest roles.Random Note:
I like that it didn’t have a predictable ending, but does end with a sort of cliffhanger. There seems to be a second season in the works which I'll love to see.

"A Healing Escape Through Love and Landscapes"
My Lovely Journey is a heartwarming, slow-paced healing romance that follows Kang Yeo-reum, a former idol turned travel show host, as she embarks on “proxy journeys” for people unable to travel themselves. Set against the backdrop of scenic Korean and international destinations, the drama beautifully weaves themes of self-discovery, emotional healing, and quiet connection. Gong Seung-yeon shines with a sincere performance, while Kim Jae-young’s reserved charm complements her in a soft, slowly blossoming romance. With cinematic visuals and a comforting tone, the show offers a gentle escape, perfect for viewers who enjoy reflective stories over dramatic twists. Was this review helpful to you?
Great realistic story LOL but not great acting or filming
The story is for real :)but the acting and filming is so watered down thin.... some amateurs did this drama.
The "memories" keep repeating too much
the scenes just seem ... watered down
and the FL is not a fantastic actress
It is just ... "thin". Watch and you will know what I mean.
