Taxi Number 5283 will return for Justice

(As someone who binge-watched the first two seasons recently in 2024-2025 , my introduction to korean dramas)

This season felt very familiar right from the start. The settings, surroundings, and even the way the victims are served up — everything seemed quite similar to the previous seasons. That fresh novelty factor that initially hooked me was somewhat missing.
This is a common issue with brilliant dramas when they reach their second or third season. But if we treat this as a standalone watch, here's my honest take:
Acting — Great performances across the entire cast. Lee Je-hoon (LJH), Pyo Ye-jin (PYJ), Kim Eui-sung (KES), Jang Hyuk-jin (JHJ), Bae Yoo-ram (BYR) — the whole Rainbow Taxi team delivered solidly as always.
Among the villains, Jang Nara (JNR) as the cold-hearted CEO of Yellowstar Entertainment (eps. 9-10) stood out for me. She was chillingly ruthless — in my opinion, the best villain of the season.
Script — They really leveled up the scale and diversified the crimes this time: gambling, fraud, match-fixing, entertainment industry exploitation, and more. It felt bigger and more varied.
That said, for someone who watched all three seasons back-to-back in just a few months, a lot of it still felt pretty familiar and predictable. But for first-time viewers or people who watched the seasons with longer gaps, this should feel fresh and very satisfying.
OST — Some tracks were excellent and really elevated the emotional moments; others were solid but decent at best.
Direction — It stayed very similar to the previous two seasons — reliable and stylish, but nothing groundbreaking or new to offer.
Rewatch Value — Definitely high. I’d happily come back anytime to watch the Rainbow Taxi crew delivering justice once again. That satisfying feeling never gets old!
Overall, it's still a very enjoyable season with strong acting, bigger cases, and the same cathartic revenge vibe we love — just not as revolutionary as season 1 felt. If you're new to the series, you'll probably love it even more.

Did I miss something?

The requests for people seeking revenge seemed to have been forgotten in this series. Because I had a hard time trying to find links that worked and found the subtitles in every episode off it took me a while to finish the series. I kept having to wait a few days before I could actually finish a episode without buffering and subtitle problems.

From my memory, I think only one or two people sought revenge and the rest was just them accidentally finding people who have been wronged and them just helping when they could. I don't know why they changed the cars styles. The newer cars didn't have that edge to them like the old ones in season 1 & 2. The new look didn't make the cars special at all.

Park Jin Eon & Choi Gyeong Gu just weren't the same after season 1. I thought they were going to at least bring back why I fell in love with those two from the first season but they downgraded their characters in both season 2 & 3. The slapstick style was downgraded a bit but it was still there. Why make a rocket scientist and a skilled mechanic look inadequate in every way possible?? They did those two so wrong!

I'm glad Kim Do Gi & An Go Eun didn't have a romantic relationship. It looked like the writers were confused. They didn't know if they wanted a romantic relationship to happen or not. Either way I'm glad they didn't ruin the vibe.

Some scenarios had me rolling my eyes like Kim Do Gi surviving several life threatening scenes including being shot about 4 times and having him survive. I guess you can't kill off the main character. It would ruin the whole show.

The whole series wasn't bad it just seemed like it went in a complete different direction which makes me wonder if they come out with a 4th season will they stick to the original format or go in a different route like they did this last season. I hope they will stick to the original format.

A must-see for action fans

I'll admit, I struggle with excessive violence and fighting. That said, if you are a true action fan, I can almost guarantee that you will love Taxi Driver 3.

I love the cohesiveness of the cast, after three seasons, we can really feel their love and respect for one another (thank you again for not adding romance). The humor in this show is spot on and not over the top. The group has funny conversations that you would hear in real life. The actors are all terrific. The ML, especially. He's stoic, but you can tell that he deeply feels things.

The cases were pretty interesting and I always enjoy seeing how their plans come to fruition.

The last two episodes were especially intense. I was glued to the TV. I think it was so engrossing because that's a reality that South Koreans have to live with. All it takes is one power-hungry crazy person to start a war.

SPOILERS! SPOILERS!
The only question I had was, at the end, there's no sign of the ML. All the Rainbow Taxi people seem to be depressed. The FL is at her desk crying. I was thinking that they killed him off. Thankfully, that wasn't the case. So, I still don't know why she was crying.

I loved the concert at the end when they had the people from all the cases there. That was very special. And, after mentioning how Lee Je Hoon was so stoic throughout, I loved the very last scene with his longer hair and beautiful smile directed toward the camera (and the no shirt thing was an added bonus!). I thought that was the perfect ending.

ep1-2 giving doomed yaoi!!

“I was going to give you everything” - Keita, right after their ‘wedding’.

I might’ve watched too much bl but why do I ship Yakuza Keita and KDG 🤭
I’m on ep2 and I’m already kicking my feet! The way he looks at KDG like he’s never had such a connection or friend before ooooh the chemistry.

I’ve watched enough bl wuxia and read enough danmei to know what SWORN BROTHERS means 😎

makes me sad to think that they’ll have to part ways (he’s a criminal duh) but they might’ve made great partners in crime (or…excuse my bl heart)

the inspector from interpol is kinda making it weird with the English bc I thought he’d have better English (bc interpol) I’m not hating but I was a bit confused at first when he started speaking English with the other detective considering they both had heavy non-English accents. also didn’t know our taxi driver KDG could speak multiple languages

Was good for like 99% of the series

Disclaimer

What I am writing here are my views and thoughts about this series. Some of you may not like it. That does not give you the right to try to come at me with your opinions on why this series should get a higher or lower score and why it is better/worse than I think it is. You have your own opinions, and I have mine. Kindly respect that.

I must say that I enjoyed this series. It was a bit different from the previous seasons, as was seen in some of the cases (which I will not indulge in so that it won't be spoilers). I felt that made it more realistic and heartbreaking. The fighting and driving scenes were exciting to watch, as they usually are. I will say that I was a bit confused about the last episode, but I read about it online, and I will say this – I am a bit disappointed with the last episode of this series, as it carried us on such a wild ride and just ends...so. But I am grateful for going on another journey with the Rainbow Taxi crew. And if we get seasons anymore, I will be there for those, too.

What a thrilling ride, as always.

just watched episode 16, and the last 30 mins were kinda weird. like why everyone listening to the general when he's not a general anymore? let's say they do. that last gun shot scene was extremely weird. Then showing them meeting was destined aas cute but then showing Go Eyn waking up in tears and taxi area all gloomy, I thought that all was a dream and Driver kin actually died. then panning to them a few years later i guess cus Go Eun had bit longer hair and them still working together meaning Kim didn't die, this all was so confusing. But I choose to believe they all survived and are still knocking those heads that deserve to be knocked!

Justice, Rage, and Perfection, Still Untouchable

Taxi Driver is not just a series to me it’s one of my all-time favorites, and Season 3 proves once again why it deserves that title. From the moment it starts, it reminds you exactly what it does best: righteous anger, sharp storytelling, and justice served without apology.

And yes it helps that my favorite actor Lee Je-hoon is leading the show. Watching him return to this role feels powerful, almost cathartic. He doesn’t just play the character; he owns it. Every stare, every controlled burst of rage, every quiet moment before violence hits he carries the weight of the stories with precision and heart.

Season 3 feels more confident, darker, and emotionally heavier. The cases hit hard, rooted in real societal wounds, and the show never waters them down. It balances action with meaning so well that every revenge feels earned, not glorified. You don’t just cheer you feel why this justice is necessary.

What I love most is how the series never loses its moral core. It asks uncomfortable questions, exposes cruelty, and still manages to give viewers a sense of release. Few dramas manage to stay this consistent across seasons, but Taxi Driver doesn’t just maintain its quality it elevates it.

This season solidifies Taxi Driver as one of the strongest, most satisfying Korean series out there. If you’ve loved it before, Season 3 will remind you why. And if you haven’t watched it yet? You’re missing out on something exceptional.

S3 revenge and justice stories were pretty good

I love S1 and S2 and I thought they set up the villains and stories pretty good for the audience to hate the villains and root for those that hire the premium taxi service. There's no overarching story this season so there's plenty of fresh stories that the Taxi crew can get on top of.

Yes, it's incredibly unrealistic and definitely exaggerated but they make the series funny and the cast has good camaraderie. The plots feel resolved, except for maybe the last one. Felt like they could have done more but it's not enough to tarnish this season. Hope we get S4.

5283...

This is my first time writing reviews. This season was a good one, the ratings were quite strong and it managed to draw viewers back to the screen once again. However, compared to the first two seasons, it had some shortcomings. Especially in the second season, we learned a lot about the characters’ pasts, their traumas, what they went through, and the things that shaped who they are now. This season, on the other hand, felt like it focused only on their enemies. Of course, considering the genre of the series, there’s nothing wrong with that, but I would have liked to see more scenes where the team spent time together, or at least small moments that gave us bits of their backstories. I’m not referring to the last two episodes where we learn things about Kim Do Gi, that’s not what I mean.
Also, since the first season, it felt like something was going to happen between Go Eun and Do Gi, but it never really did. In the second season, their scenes, especially the one on one moments, felt more frequent. For example, Go Eun would grab her beer and go sit next to Do Gi while he was working out on the terrace. Those scenes were enjoyable to watch, I wish we had seen similar moments this season as well.
What they fight against is difficult, exhausting, and dark, so to avoid boring the audience while telling these stories, they included humorous elements, which I personally think was a very good choice. In the last two episodes, there were quite a few illogical things. I won’t go into detail to avoid spoilers, but still… Also, the final episode felt like a rollercoaster, and unfortunately I enjoyed it less. Especially the last 10 minutes were really bad.
I think Taxi Driver did what it could and completed its mission. This season, I could feel that the writer struggled a bit. If a fourth season comes, I’ll definitely watch it, even if there are ten seasons, I’ll watch them. But if this truly is the final season, I’d say they did everything they could, and I wouldn’t be upset. It was an enjoyable journey, glad I watched it.
7/10

It ain't over yet

so after 2 seasons you will think what more can they offer for a 3rd season , I started watching this season for the fear of missing out but it was still giving , some episodes we stronger than others ,but if they are thinking to go for a 4th season they shouldn't make it as cases separate from one another , what they did in season 1 and 2 was way better, it was many revenge stories that were all tied to the same villain which was more interesting, that being said this season deserves to give it a chance.
