What a bummer!!!

I just finished the series (just for the sake of finishing it, although I'm a big fan of the leads) and felt cheated  because it started so promising and I really enjoyed the firsts episodes, but then the story became a real mess...

Some characters that could be promising, like FL ex boyfriend - if he had developed as a real scoundrel, but he were used for the sole purpose of creating  WEAK plots trying to take down ML. He appeared and disappeared without any linearity.

The other Ex from ML that appears later too, just a cliché trope...

And don't get me started with the side couples....none of them have any chemistry at all!!!!!!!

There wasn't any story, there was no character development (in the beginning you're rooting for FL to break free and become independent but, as the series goes by, many of hers achievements happen because ML helped. And in the last two episodes she ends up being left aside by him, who solves their crisis all alone, without any communication!!)

I'm really tired of this misogyny of CDramas - even more when they come in disguise on a promising and exciting start!

Anyway, another Mary Sue Drama...watch without any expectation and at your own risk!

My 2nd ZYX drama & she looks superb in this drama!! The storyline tells about mature working adults make their relationship work in a busy jobs. They face a number of challenges when they got together, in the end they maintained a great deal of trust in each other. This is a really nice drama that could’ve been great if it wasn’t for the supporting roles getting too many parts which I don't think are necessary.

Not bad, not great.

I've read many reviews and noticed that most of them complained about the fact that both couples had a lot of screentime which deluted the main couple. I disagree. The fact that we had so many scenes of both couples was actually my favourite thing in this drama, because their dynamics are so different and we get to see 2 types of relationships that even though had some connection with each other are very different.
First we have the main couple Xu Qing You and Mo Ling Ze. Their chemistry was AMAZING. We have the love at first sight plot, but it was done in such an intoxicating way it was impossible to look away. They had their fair share of conflicts, but they were very mature throughout them and they trusted each other, something that I really liked about it. The FL wasn't infantilised even though we see her in different circumstances, keeping her essence from before their relationship.
The second couple, Xu Wei and Fang Qi was my favourite. I really liked that Feng Qi took her time with the relationship evolution, and although Xu Wei was build as a comic relief and with this childish behaviour, they're relationship was also the sweetest and, for me, most rewarding. I think they did a great job with showing them navigate a new territory toghater and accommodating themselves and the people around them with they're new relationship.
I really think that the romance aspect of this drama was spot on. The chemistry was really really good, and we get lots of scenes where they're affectionate with each other.
But that's about everything I liked about it. There was a lot of unnecessary drama, and scenes where the characters would get quite annoying. The plot felt very bland and boring for me.
I am a person who enjoys rom com dramas, so I did enjoy it, but as something that you watch without paying little to no attention, lacking any essence.
Overall, if you want to watch something fluffy, with lots of romance and not focusing on the plot, this is something I'd recommend.

It is not a spicy melodramatic drama, but **GASP** a rom com!

Wrong marketing, but still a decent drama. If you are going into this drama expecting an adult spicy C drama (as spicy a C drama can get), I will let you know now... despite the

1.) Title - Love a night
2.) Opening credit song as seductive and melodramatic

It is not a spicy melodramatic drama, but **GASP** a rom com! It's actually a typical c drama rom-com and I still liked it.

I liked the FL lead from Love and Redemption and I'm glad she got a main lead role. I do wished they used her own voice, but her acting is cute. Her wardrobe was amazing and they didn't reuse a lot of it which I really liked.

The ML was in Love and Redemption too, but I don't remember him. I thought he was fine in Love at Night and if you wanted to see abs, you will get a lot of that in this one.

I do wish they actually ate on the show. I don't like it when actors take one or two bites and call it a scene. I really appreciate the seasoned actors that truly eat during their roles. It just makes it more authentic, but I get it, you don't get abs by eating carbs.

The main couple and the second couple were the best to watch. They do get equal screen time, so go into the drama knowing that. I liked the second couple because the older woman / younger male storyline was cute. He was like a little puppy that followed her everywhere! Also the second couple storyline was so different from the main leads, it was fun to watch.

I didn't like the 3rd couple at all. I found her annoying and the guy dull, so I fast forwarded them.

I liked there was hardly any angst or miscommunication. It was a pretty mature and open relationship. A lot of kissing and hugging, but nothing really beyond that.

Overall, it was a cute rom-com.

Thrust is more impotent

It is good drama Actor and Actors are nice in their character
The scriptwriter knows the viewers breaking point
Some scenes nearly makes you shout out but it's gets gradual but in final episode last half hour
They can able to handle more better to not frustrate and kept the viewers in oscillations mode
I accept the director and scriptwriter are really clever this story had 30 episodes
There is no bad impression in 29 episodes they handled very well
I hope you can also enjoy this drama ------------>Thank you all<----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Eye Candy in the form of ML & FL (that's about it)

I started this drama with high-ish expectations as it seemed promising.

The starting soundtrack is catchy and upbeat! I also like that FL as I think she's pretty and cute. I must say that I don't find her the best of actresses but she certainly looks good on the screen.

The drama started off quite fine and I'd say that I'd rate it a "round up 8" although it wasn't a full 8/10. However, as the drama continued, my rating for it began to dip. It went from 7.5 to 7 and then, eventually, 6.5/10.

What I liked:
- The ML and FL are good-lookers. They certainly make my TV screen look very fine indeed.
- The parts to do with the ML and FL are pretty sweet and rather engaging.
- The soundtrack is pleasant and suits the drama.
(I guess the above is about it. I tried to add more but...)

What I didn't like:
- FL's ex-boyfriend is all kinds of crazily manipulative. I mean: Why be disloyal when he purportedly loves FL so much? It does not make sense. He also seemed crazily hell-bent on making FL his wife and hurrying her to get married which did not make sense at all. Also, FL is a human being and not his object or an object for him to play with. FL isn't a plaything. That man has issues which he needs to solve. He also blames everyone else around him instead of being self-reflective and thinking deeply about his erroneous ways.
- FL's father is also all kinds of crazy. He simply cannot accept FL being her own person and having her own mind.
- FL's brother is absolutely a pain to watch! The older girl-younger man relationship here is painful to watch and not at all sexy or hot. He behaves childishly on many occasions. He is selfish (in the name of love) and he tries hard to be cute but fails miserably. I cannot stand the way he speaks. There is something odd about the movement of his mouth/ lips. I had to press "fast-forward" whenever he appeared. He isn't cute either.
- ML's crazy ex-girlfriend was truly insufferably annoying. I hated looking at her and I hated hearing her. She and FL's ex-boyfriend should get together. Both have serious issues. They are manipulative and self-centred.
- There is too much screen time for other uninteresting couples in the show - Xu Wei and Fang Qi as well as Wang Ji and Lin Si Yu. They were boring and frustrating!
- FL and ML have a rather lukewarm relationship. They don't seem to have that much sizzling chemistry but it's still okay for me. I completed the drama for them and to see them.
- In general, the acting in the show isn't top-notch/ stellar. The FL seems to have one main "sweet smile" expression. ML seems better. (I am actually a fan of FL... I just have to be honest despite being a fan! I have watched several of her dramas!)
- The plot isn't anything very exciting either. Nothing interesting or suspenseful happens throughout the whole show.

Overall, this show is okay to watch if you just fast-forward any parts that don't excite you. Trust me, you won't miss anything much at all! :)

Drama Potential Wasted Because of Poor Script

Everything, from casting, music etc were all on point in this drama. The only major detractor was the script. The lines were so dry and boring, even the attempts at humor fell flat let alone the romantic parts. Every step forward the couple make, they take another two steps back. And they just keep circling and repeating the same problems over and over again. It was aggravating. The nature of their job descriptions was also a little hard to follow. Overall, it's a story that had great potential but was ultimately just a waste of time to watch.

My 1 st review ?

Love this drama .
recommended for all the drama lovers . Their acting is so good that I fall in love with both of them after a long get to watch such a good drama . The story is also good I also loved the music . Would love to watch the drama again as I fall for the both male lead & female lead 💖 The male lead look like the Chinese version of lee soo-hyuk. The feamale lead is really hardworking and smart I love that thing though she was a kind of dumb in another way but she is really fashionable. Also the relationship between them was mature.

The female leads ex-fiancee was really irritating .The male ex girlfriend tried to win him but couldn't 😂
thise scenes were funny.
Anyways overall its a damn goood drama 🤗
Happy watching future viewers.🤗💖

Just Captivating Enough to Keep You Invested

I truly don’t understand the low ratings. It’s worth the watch for sure. It’s a 30 episode C-Drama, why are people shocked that it has moments when it drags, lol? They all do, haha! But in all seriousness, I think “Love at Night” was charming. The main female lead was amazing. Her character development and her unwavering career-woman vibes set her apart from so many weak-willed C-Drama ladies. And the chemistry between both leads is to die for. This is PACKED with amazing kids scenes that are worth the wait (they get together about the halfway point).

Besides that, the secondary romance—could have done without the third one but it was okay—was a whole show of itself. I felt like it succeeded everywhere that “My Fated Boy” fell flat on its face.

The ending is a bit rushed and weird but still a happy one.

I would give it a better rating but I disliked thoroughly the second couple

Things I adored

1 The ML. I didn't even recognized him at first, but I had him on my favorite actors after seeing him on What If. I fell in love with him in What If and he didn't disappoint here either. He's not handsome in a classic way but he's a good actor and he carries himself well.

Things I loved

1 The FL. She was good after the first few episodes where I thought she was too wooden and played like she was afraid to speak. Once she got into her role she was much much better. I do think though that in some scenes she needed to make more efforts.

2 The 2FL. I loved the actress. So beautiful and natural. I will check her other work. I hated the relationship plot with her, but I loved her friendship with the FL.

3 That they showed they had a healthy and adult physical relationship. The chemistry was there for me.

Things I liked

1 The band. They were good characters although we didn't learn much about them.

2 The bar owner. I could even say I loved her since she was mature, sensible and a good friend.

Things I disliked

1 The FL character in the first episodes when she navigated between her ex and the ML. I know it was needed but it still bothered me that she wasn't more decisive and affirmative.

2 The ML ex. I didn't hate her but she still bothered me. That said she redeemed herself so all is good.

Things I hated

1 The 2ML. I mean this time the brother. The actor was awful. Just awful. I never once cared about his relationship. Great brother, I can't deny that but pairing him with the best friend was a mistake and he didn't have the charisma to carry this through. I fast forwarded all their scenes after a while because it irritated me a lot. I do think a better actor could have made them less painful.

2 The whole second couple relationship. No chemistry and oh god it took even more time than the main leads' relationship. Why the heck? Sometimes it was like 2/3 of the episode were focused on them. It got on my nerves in the end.

3 The ex. What a despicable, manipulative character. he was handsome and yet I felt like he was so ugly. I wish he paid more for his actions. I hate manipulative people more than anything, and unfortunately they are everywhere. So it helps to be able to hate them in fiction.

4 The father of the FL. I don't care if he changed, I only care about the fact that he wanted his children to just obey him and that he used corporal punishment which was glossed over by the FL. What the heck is wrong with society? Why is is acceptable in 2026 to show that kind of behavior? All the things I hated made me lower the rating. If only the main couple was the focus it would be 8.5 at least.

A Mature Lead Couple that Communicates! Bravo!

Enjoyed the maturity of both ML and FL. Especially when dealing with the ex's foolishness from both sides, both leads held their own. Can we just appreciate communication within the lead couple? Thank you, writers, for both passive and verbal communication between the leads that spoke volumes. It is nice to see a c-drama that did not dumb down the FL where she is strong at work and clueless in personal matters. It was also refreshing to see a ML who was not only strong at work but did not waver when it came to his standards in love. The affection and the conflicts that both the leads had to endure felt genuine and relatable. It was odd that the secondary relationship received more screen time than the leads. If you were to cut some the 'extra' scenes from the secondary relationship, the episode count could have been a solid 24 instead of 30. Very good character balance. Must watch!

i dont want to post spoilers but there might be some cuz i have to review the story lines

in my opinion the story line is quite good. This drama has very simple yet interesting story
the cast were good and did the acting well. Main interesting thing about this story is the character of her former fiancé
it shows how people can be so manipulative. he is pressuring her to be with him using his mother and other circumstances . i really was pissed off due to his manipulative behavior. i liked the main leads too they carried out the character very nicely
this drama is worth your time
