Drama focused more on theme
I liked the beginning of the story where the male protagonist, with his face covered by a mask, infiltrates a place to carry out an attack. The female protagonist unknowingly intervenes in his mission, putting him in a tough spot. He even considers killing her because he doesn't want any obstacles, even innocent ones, in his path. This plot twist gave me goosebumps. Why? Because moments like this add spice and elevate the story.
As the story progresses, we see that the three main characters are all battling their personal struggles, each with a painful past. Their conflicts stem from these heart-wrenching histories. Initially, all three are suspicious of one another, dealing with each other cautiously. But later, we learn that two of their pasts are connected, and they then face emotions like revenge, hatred, jealousy, and love.
The drama doesn't have many romantic scenes, as it focuses more on the main theme. Except for two characters, the rest have happy endings.

He's tried to kill her until he couldn't anymore.
This is a lovely drama. It's one of those dramas that hook you in each episode. The FL and ML met by chance during an assassination attempt, which immediately turned them into enemies. He failed to kill her three times because she was simply too witty. Their relationship grows slowly throughout the story, and every encounter tugs at the heartstrings. The way they gradually develop feelings for each other is something to truly look forward to. The only thing I didn’t like was the ending. Don’t get me wrong—the story is very good—but as a fan of happy endings where the leads settle down together, I hated how it concluded with the ML dying. It's one of those stories when I want to get into the movie and prevent the leads from dying.

Equally impressive is Li Landi as the female lead. She brings depth, vulnerability, and strength to her role, complementing the male lead beautifully. Their chemistry is not loud or exaggerated, but rather built on emotional understanding, mutual respect, and unspoken feelings. Together, they create a relationship that feels genuine and layered, drawing the audience deeply into their journey.
The storyline is another strong pillar of the drama. It is well-paced, with a balance of political intrigue, personal sacrifice, and emotional conflict. The plot does not rely on clichés but instead develops its characters thoughtfully, allowing their motivations and growth to unfold naturally. The themes of loyalty, duty, and love are woven together in a way that feels both realistic and impactful.
Overall, this drama stands out for its refined storytelling and powerful performances. It is a reminder that true chemistry and meaningful love can be conveyed through depth, restraint, and sincerity rather than overt displays of affection. A truly memorable watch.

A masterpiece
Love of Nirvana is a brilliantly acted drama that delivers depth, suspense, and emotional impact from start to finish. Ren Jialun’s portrayal of Wei Jiao is outstanding—his stoic strength, inner conflict, and sharp mind make him unforgettable. But what truly sets this drama apart is how every main character shines. Jeremy Xu commands the screen with his presence and strategy, giving his role a quiet intensity that's impossible to ignore. Li Landi brings intelligence, grace, and fierce determination to her character, proving she’s no damsel—she’s a force. The mental duels and emotional tension among the three are so well-balanced, it’s impossible to say who outshines the others. All are brilliant in their own right, making this drama a masterclass in storytelling and performance. Was this review helpful to you?

A Script of Nonsense.
In just the first few episodes you can kiss any sense goodbye.ML#1 (Wei Zhao) attempts to kill FL (Jiang Ci) 3 times and ML#2 (Pei Yan) saves FL 3 times.
ML#2 is trying to catch ML#1. FL can help easily but decides not to.
They not even in a close relationship at this stage.
In FL's perspective there is a clearly defined good guy(saves her), and bad guy(kills her).
FL knows if she wants to leave the protection of ML#2, she needs to say what she knows and help catch ML#1. But she doesn't.
She has every reason to be against ML#1. Every reason to help ML#2.
FL can even setup a trap with how frequently ML#1 likes to invade ML#2's Home. LOL.
Setting aside the bizarre notion to romanticize "Stockholm syndrome" and manipulation/torture of FL, the script just doesn't make sense right from the beginning.

Emotionally Stressful And Pathetic Love
I think this series should not be rated high because the story is emotionally stressful and it really condemns women by romanticizing the suffering of women. Why should Jiang Ci have to go through so many turmoils in the hands of this so called morally ambiguous Wei Zhao just to earn his love, like seriously. This series should not have been a romance, it should have been just a political intrigue with bromance or even mutual respect among leads.LON is really romanticizing to the audience about what love is and what a woman should do to be loved. The same happened in TSOPG the female lead had to go through a lot of physical and emotional pain from the male lead, Yan Zijing before she earned his love and sometimes even respect. I get it that Wei Zhao hates Liang but that doesn't give him any right whatsoever to hurt someone to that extent. It is very clear that he is cruel. But the outcome of Jiang Ci and his relationship makes Jiang Ci out to be pathetic and hollow.
Overall Love Of Nirvana is not worth the watch and the hype.

Really such a shame...
Only five episodes in and the plot has been very intriguing so far. The cast is also quite good and I truly do want to keep watching it but the female lead has ruined another series for me once again.I actually almost wanted to drop this at the first episode because of the female lead. While I understand her character is someone who grew up in the mountains and wouldn't understand the cultural aspect of the city, none of her actions through all five episodes made any sense. Trying to continually claim her to be someone who's blunt, free-spirited, and naive just doesn't cut it here at all.
-- She was raised by her "master" who is a cautious woman herself and had warned her to be careful with her actions when she left for the city. Yet the FL somehow loses her bag and she decides to sneak into a court official's house to steal food and leisurely climb a tree to drink stolen alcohol? Especially while knowing who's house it is and that an envoy is visiting? Fine. Let's pretend that she really is this naive.
-- Then while hanging out in the tree talking out loud to herself, an assassin drops down next to her because that's the location he needs for his target. He doesn't even kill her and just needs to stay quiet. But she decides she's such a smart cookie that she starts talking to him about who his target is? Fine. Let's pretend again that she's really oblivious. He gets annoyed and poisons her (she knows the poison apparently) and warns her again to stfu. But she decides AGAIN to ramble on as if this is all a joke and he stays true to his word and stabs her. For this level of ignorance, it was deserved.
-- Then she gets invited to a banquet with high officials. Is she nervous in this setting despite it likely being her first time hanging out with officials to begin with? No. But when some side characters start to complain about the entertainer, she thought it was a GREAT idea to start throwing fruits at them from across the room. Seriously? I don't care who the hell it is or how lacking common sense can be... who the hell would do this in her situation?
-- Then she gets blackmailed by the assassin who has repeatedly proven that he can find her and kill her at any time. He manages to find this lost bag of hers that would lead him to find her master. You would think that FINALLY, she would learn to be more cautious about actions and be more humble about her abilities. But no... she holds some petty grudge against being blackmailed and decides to give him false information? Not because she has some tactical reasoning for it. Simple because she wants to get back at him and she just thinks everyone is dumber than her.
-- Her "savior" comments on how she cares more about his life than hers. And her response to him was pretty much "well, I'm not worried about dying because my master says I'm so slippery that I can escape anything". Really?? After having been unsuccessful this many times already??? She still thinks of herself as being more competent than others? She's also implying that he would be less successful in escaping than she would be, despite the huge intellectual and physical abilities between the two.
So yea. I really tried to keep watching the series because the chess game the two MLs are playing with one another right now is actually quite interesting. But the FL has such a huge role in the story and my stomach is already full of irritation with her character's ridiculousness. With five episodes in, I can't see anything that would redeem this unless they plan to mention that she has mental issues later.

The last few drama for Jeremy Tsui
I am watching this because of Jeremy Tsui and Li Landi. I love both these two actors. The beginning is interesting though still somewhat slow … I believe CP is Ren JL and Li Landi.
I really like what I see of Jeremy Tsui thus far …
Wei Zhao (REN) seemed to be the nephew of the emperor as his mother was the emperor’s sister. Likely some conspiracy that implicate the Emperor…. Pei Yan ( Jeremy) is a Lord who seemed to be entrusted with managing some talk with another neighboring country…
However, during the talk, Wei Zhao tried to kidnap or believed to try to assassinate the delegate for talks nd was foiled by Li Landi ‘s character, more a wrong place at wrong time situation….
There is a lot of angst and fights between the 2 MLs and FLs in the first 10-12 episodes. Initially, 1st ML and FL fought quite furiously… until about ep 14/15 where their relationships became closer due to common case interests. Ep 17 has got to be the highlight of all the episodes I watched thus far….the dynamics between FL changes from being supportive of Pei Yan to Commander Wei. I do like how nuanced the interactions are between all 3 leads … I see Jeremy Tsui and REN’s role as both leads … there is a “reverse “ harem with the doctor, Wei Zhao and Pei Yan all liking FL ( Li Landi’s role)…
Definitely a good drama to watch … the story and characters all have complex personalities and nuanced storytelling…

Was this review helpful to you?
BORING
