A 10/10 Masterpiece
Khemjira is nothing short of a masterpiece. Every single episode was captivating, drawing me deeper into its haunting yet beautiful world. From the very first scene to the last, I felt completely immersed, unable to look away. The setting was breathtaking, each location chosen with care and filmed with a polished eye. The cinematography was crisp and fresh, never once falling into the overdone or cringey trap that sometimes plagues BL dramas. Instead, it carried an elegance that elevated the story into something truly special.
The plot itself was a revelation. Layered, emotional, and unpredictable, it unfolded like a tragic poem, blending supernatural horror with the tenderness of human love. The flashbacks were perfectly woven in, never forced, always meaningful, giving us the heart-wrenching backstory of the family’s curse. The explanation of why the mother named her son “Khemjira” tied everything together so beautifully with the title, leaving me in awe of the storytelling.
The cast delivered performances that were nothing short of brilliant. Every emotion felt real, every moment of pain or love carried weight. The chemistry between the leads was powerful and believable, and the supporting cast gave depth and soul to the entire narrative.
The ghost effects were surprisingly realistic and heightened the sense of dread without overshadowing the story. The music score, meanwhile, was perfectly matched, haunting, emotional, and often lingering in my mind long after an episode ended.
What makes Khemjira stand apart is its balance: a supernatural tale laced with tragedy and horror, yet still deeply human and emotionally resonant. It never dragged, never lost its rhythm. Every episode was a 10 out of 10 experience, the kind of rare drama that holds your heart hostage until the very end.
This is one of the best BL series I have ever watched. It is powerful, tragic, and breathtaking, a drama that will stay with me for a long, long time.

THE BEST BL, I AM SERIOUS.
I've slept on this show for so long. I don't know why. It was so hyped up, and I just never got around to watching it, but it is honestly one of the best decisions I've made so far. I've watched a lot of BL dramas this past month, and while many of them have similar stories, I still decided to give this one a try. THIS IS A MASTERPIECE. THE BEST DRAMA I'VE WATCHED AND I'M TOO PICKY SERIOUSLY.I completely understand now why it was so hyped up because it was just that good. The cinematography was amazing, and even master's back tattoo, looked incredibly realistic. Before I talk about anything else, I need to mention this because it is a problem that always bothers me in BL dramas. Whenever there is a tattoo, it usually looks completely unrealistic. It's always too black and obviously looks like a sticker pasted onto someone's skin. But this tattoo looked so real that it somehow added even more hotness to his character.
Before I start crushing on Keng, let me talk about the story first.
The plot was so good, and every episode had me on edge. Each one had the perfect mix of friendship, cute moments, funny scenes, and equal parts happiness and sadness. Every ending left me hanging on a cliffhanger, which was honestly nerve-wrecking because I was dying to know what happened next. It took me about two seconds to start the next episode every single time because the suspense was insane.
And don't even get me started on the ending of Episode 11. When she said that Khemjirra was born at six, I genuinely died. I don't think anyone should sleep on this drama because it is that good. Every episode keeps you hooked from start to finish.
As for the romance, the main couple was good, but their relationship was definitely more of a slow burn and quite subtle. BUT UGHHHHH, Jet and Charn completely stole my heart. I never thought I'd end up loving the secondary characters this much, but they were so adorable. Their romance had me smiling every time they appeared on screen.
The friendship in this drama is honestly one of the best I've ever come across. The friends were literally ready to die for Khemjira, and not once did they blame him or turn against him. I am absolutely in love with Jet. He was so cute and amazing. Jet and Charn were genuinely the kind of friends people wish and pray for in real life. They were just that good. i'm so in love with them.
AND FINALLY, KENG. KENG HARIT IS THE HOTTEST PERSON EVER. PLS. EVEN NON-BL ONES WERE CRYING BECAUSE THEY HAD TO WATCH A BL FOR HIM.
I completely understand why people say his face card saved him so many times because, honestly, it's true. There was not a single moment when I could take my eyes off him. Even when I was questioning his decisions, I was still staring. His eyes are so beautiful. They are genuinely majestic. He is the epitome of beautiful. The epitome of perfection. He is unbelievably good-looking.
And I'm not just throwing random adjectives around here. I'm being completely serious. HE IS DAMN BEAUTIFUL.
ALSO, THE CAMEO WAS NET WAS SOOOO GOOD, LIKE MAN IS SUCH AN EYE CANDY, I LOVE HIM.
PLS, EVERYONE WATCH IT. DON'T OVERTHINK IT.

Love transcends through lifetimes
May 31, 2026Khemjira really was that Thai BL, it is so good. The chemistry is well done and the story prognosis has amazing. I genuinely rate this series a solid 10 across all sectors. I never really felt an ounce of boredom or lacking in the story. I think that Keng and Namphing's also really complement each other and that makes the series so much more interesting. I also like the idea of incorporating the Indigenous Thai beliefs into the story as it gives it a wide-range of depth.
I feel like I have been on such a good streak with BLs lately and having Khemjira just becomes that cherry on top for me. A definite series, I will look forward to rewatching.

It's excellence in a way that it's so rarely to see in media
I spent a long time before watching Khemjira, I don't know why. I was really losing time.It's... insane. It's hard to find words without giving spoilers. It's top-tier acting, perfect screenwriting, perfectly directed, insane photography.
It's fucking insane. Like... it's a level of excellence that is rare to see in media, not only Thai media, i'm saying media in general. Bcs it's a masterpiece.
And it's so deeply cultural, delicate. Every single scene is made with so much care.
It's honestly... like, it's probably one of the best series ever made. Seriously, life-changing.
It’s such a brief review, which is unusual of me, but honestly, no words can put how this series is fucking amazing. JUST WATCH IT.

Best BL I've Seen in a While
This definitely contains spoilers. This series was not exactly what I was expecting. I knew the base of the story, but the show itself surprised me. It was such a journey!
I couldn't stop smiling, gasping, and screaming out of worry/ shock. There were many twists and turns, but they were amazingly done so I'm glad that I was able to be a part of it.
Namping surprised me. He did such an amazing job and left me with a good impression. Playing the quiet and shy really suited him since he's a little bit like that IRL. Khem is such a sweet guy who's only fault was trying to protect his family and friends as a kid in his fast life over 300 years ago. Regardless, he’s very kind and has a big heart with lots of love to share.
Keng did great. He wasn't trying to be funny and I think that made me like his character even more. It suited him very well. Peem is a serious guy who wants to protect those around him and will do anything for Khem, despite his promise to his grandfather. I like him a lot, especially when he's a little jealous lol.
Firstone was a perfect choice for Jet. Being chaotic somehow suits him very well. Jet is a caring person who doesn’t want to lose his best friend, so he’ll search for ways to protect him from death.
Tle left me a little speechless. His character, Charn, is a silly guy who has the worst eyesight I’ve ever witnessed lol. In my mind, Tle is different from Charn but that being said, makes him an even better actor, right? Also, Charn is very caring and will do his best to help.
Ek and Thong were so cute! I read some people say that they were useless to the series but I didn’t see it that way. They helped the guys many times when in danger, and popped out of nowhere to be comedic relief. So, in my opinion they were very useful. And cute. I cried on EP 9.
The crew did an amazing job with cinematography, music, special effects, the whole works! I really love how the story was written and would wish to see other things like Khemjira.
In EP 12 with the final battle against Ramphueng, when the monk revealed who he was, it felt as though she let go of her entire revenge plan that she had for 300-400 years was almost completely forgotten. Don’t get me wrong, happy that she reunited with her son and that she finally let Khem live, but it was like a 180 switch, which realistically isn’t easy. It takes time to heal and to find clarity. Still, happy to know that she moved on after centuries of hate and heartache. Almost cried with the flashbacks haha.
In conclusion, Khemjira is GREAT! It’s definitely something I would recommend to others. Honestly, this series is on my list of “I’d lose my memory just to watch again” lol.

An Intriguing Thai BL That Had The Potential To Be A Lot Better
Khemjira is a supernatural thriller BL drama that centers around a cursed young man whose karma can only be altered by a shaman powerful enough to counter it. The greatest asset of this drama is its gripping story rich with Thai lore, buddhism, reincarnation, and history. Perhaps, the best and most compelling character is the main villain herself, Ramphueng. Though her evil deeds can never be justified, her grievances are deep and her motivations understandable. I watched this for the plot (yeah, really) because it intrigued me from the moment I read the synopsis, but I stayed for the second couple. Jet and Charn made this drama for me.For the most part, this was an enjoyable drama with a riveting plot that, at times, put me on the edge. However, the central character, Khemjira, is not in the least bit interesting. Khem, as he is often called in the drama, is basically a feminized male character that is as tropey as the cursed and trapped princess in the tower waiting to be rescued by a knight in shining armor. He might as well be a damsel in distress in a typical shojo manga that cries for her beloved and must be kept safe at all times. Despite his ability to see ghosts and potential to learn magic, he is not taught the necessary skills to defend himself just because. Instead, he begs for people to help him and is practically useless all throughout the series. I'm convinced that Khem was originally written to be a helpless woman but was later changed to a man to turn it into a BL story. Oh, he cooks and cleans for everyone. That's his job. He is given the stereotypical gender role for women. If that's not a clear indication of how the author sees this character, I don't know what else to tell you. This is my biggest beef with the drama.
And because of this characterization of the main character, I had no interest whatsoever in his romance with Peem. As strikingly handsome Harit is, I just wasn't as invested in them as I was with Jet and Charn. I found myself skipping their NC scenes and fast-forwarding a lot of their interactions. I have nothing against Namping. I think he is severely lacking in the acting department but then so are the others. I give him a pass for being a newbie. I'm sure he will improve in time. I just dislike his character so much I would've given the drama up if not for the intriguing story and the engaging second couple. Besides, femboys in BL have always been a pet peeve of mine. I watch BL to watch boys fall in love, not effeminate boys. But I understand that some actually want that, it's just not for me.
I also watched this drama in 1.25x, which I don't normally do. I don't usually like speed watching but the episodes are overly long with too much fluff and many fodder characters. A lot of the scenes are just them standing around and looking at each other awkwardly as if they're waiting for the director to yell "cut". I thought that was so strange. The story could've been told in 10 episodes or fewer with just 40 minutes run-time for each. It's really not that deep. A lot of the important stuff is about Ramphueng and the curse anyway, and that was told in just 1-2 episodes. The BL stuff could take up the other 8 episodes.
The production value in this is not bad, but not impressive either. I guess for a Thai drama, it's pretty good. The music is also enchanting and apt for such a dark supernatural drama. I want to commend the writers for the detailed descriptions of the rituals and spells, though. It does seem like they are well-researched. I found this aspect of the drama especially fascinating.
But as I mentioned, it's really the second couple that got me hooked. The two actors have such great chemistry that they made me believe that they really are just two relatively straight boys who are “gay for each other”. Jet is oozing with charisma and is so adorable that I became convinced that he could make any guy fall in love. Charn's quiet strength and calm nature is a great complement to his feistiness. I suppose they are also archetypes in BL or even in hetero romance, but the fact that none of them act like girls really help sell the “gay for you” trope. Suffice to say, I adored them and always looked forward to their scenes no matter how small or trivial.
All in all, I was entertained. The story and the charm of the second couple kept me from dropping it. Would I recommend it? Sure. I know there are BL fans out there who don't have the same nitpicks or pet peeves as I do and would appreciate an interesting story and eye-candies. Would I watch it again? Probably not. I will watch snippets or videos of Jet and Charn being lovey dovey, though.

“She was young and very beautiful, but pale, like the grey pallor of death.”
Yupp those are goosebumps . A state of the skin caused by cold , fear and excitement . I am glad that they are not making same typical doctor , engineer dramas , they are helping the BL drama industry to show their different sides . I have no words to describe how good this drama is . The actors / actresses are exceptionally handsome / pretty . When I was watching this series , I literally could not imagine anyone in these characters except them , the background music was adding frosting to the cake .Sound is a vital element in creating a successful horror movie or drama . It's not just about the visuals; sounds , music, and the use of silence all play a vital role in building atmosphere, coldness , and fear. And I was surprised to see how professionally they made each scenes , there were literally no boring scenes , at every second , each horror scene literally freaked me out .
And about make up , in this budget , they did a good job , the actors are professional , sometimes I was like ' You guys are acting right ? ' because the way they were giving micro expressions wow wow .
Give this drama a try , I am 100 % sure , you guys will not regret .

Beautifully Produced With Some Plot Issues
FANTASTIC production and an incredibly interesting concept, but i was super disappointed by certain aspects of this show :(firstly, i wish Khemjira had committed to fleshing out khem's character (its literal namesake) more. he didn't do anything except ??? cry ??? and ask for help ??? and then cook ????? throughout the entire show. he had almost no agency and it was lowkey so hard to watch. he became a walking, sometimes talking damsel in distress trope. so so so sad to see especially as so many other characters were really intriguing.
there were also so many random exposition characters who showed up, fixed a problem or answered a question for khem & company, and then disappeared into irrelevancy again for no reason. let khem do things for himself!! he's a grown man!!! i promise it isn't that scary!!!!! like why did his dad randomly show up again at the end, why did his ghost mom protect him so much, and WHY can't he have any personality!!!!!!!!
also, i personally don't like the way these two "fell in love"... there was hardly any buildup, and even though the characters kept insisting that they were different people from their past lives, the only reason they got together was due to that past connection. however, perhaps this lack of prior interaction stems from the fact that, as i said before and will say again, khem has 0 personality.
as a final nitpick, i really didn't like that it was such a "thing" that peem saved khem from forest spirits when he was ~16 and khem was like????? 6-10?????? weird af, barely relevant, could've been left out so easily.
i will say that i did enjoy jet and charn as a duo much more. they had some semblance of an actual connection, far better communication than khem and peem overall, and some moments that were actually quite sweet.
ugh. i wish i could've liked this show. if khem was given any character traits other than cooking and crying, and if the romance was driven by any sort of actual connection rather than trying to fulfill the desires left over from their past lives, this would've been awesome.
despite it all, for the beautiful execution by production and the wonderful performance from most of the actors, i can't go any lower than 6/10 on this one. i unfortunately can't go higher than that, though, because why was khem so uninteresting and useless omfg i'm genuinely so pressed about it.

I almost dropped this series
I didn't like the show when I first started it and I probably would've stopped at episode 5 if I didn't have friends that recommended that I keep going. If you are like me and were not invested in the lead couple, but had a soft spot for Jet and Charn, then it's worth watching to episode 7 and then re-evaluate from there if you want to keep going.Tle and Firstone won me over with their performance throughout the entire show. To me, it was worth watching all the way to the end just for them. But even with all of this and my criticism, I still think this is the best show Domundi has put out so far. But I wouldn't say it's the best BL I've seen.
I think Khemjira had a lot going for it, but the execution didn't quite make it there for me. The way I felt about Khemjira reminded me of when I first watched Until We Meet Again. In both, I thought the secondary couple overtook the first. The first couple felt lacking to me for the same reasons where the past life of PeemKhem & DeanPharm held more weight to their backstory then their current lifetime. Actually, Fluke’s character (Pharm) reminds me of Khem. They both cook and cry their way to romance, which those acts aren't inherently a bad thing if there was weight to that emotion. Even grandma Si’s backstory cooking sweets for Peem had more emotional weight than this.
Khem’s sadness is soooo tangled with his previous life and we have little connection to it as a viewer who only looks through a window of short flashbacks into the past. Yet as a viewer of the drama we are asked to feel so deeply for them in these short bursts despite when the only thing they are giving us in the present day is longing looks, Khem's cooking as his act of service, and a medicinal scene with Peem wrapping Khem's wounds on his fingers. Yes, Peem does help Khem dispel his Choyod in the first act. But he is tied to that karma as his brother is the ghost haunting Khem. And Peem's knowledge of their previous life has baring on his feelings for Khem in that situation. What about the present lifetime made them fall in love? They can’t help but fall in love. It just is. But, that was my issue.
In fact, I actually don’t have a problem with fated love stories. I have a problem with fated love stories that is used as a shortcut to skip out on building romance. Just because they loved each other in their previous life doesn’t mean that it’s enough to sustain their relationship in their current life. What I was missing from them was found with Jet and Charn.
“You’ve been helping me. But I also cursed at you. But you’re still nice to me. You even mess with, but maybe I started it.” LOL (Jet fully knowing he is the instigator most of the time but I digress). It’s not hard to see why Jet would fall for a lovable dork who would do anything for his friends. For Charn who tries not to get knocked out unconscious by Jet’s dancing skills, you can see why he fell for him too. Jet wears his emotions out in the open like the way he dances. He is unguarded and he feels so deeply. They were the ONLY reason why I kept watching the drama. They felt like a real couple to me who are in love versus Peem and Khem who were performing the acts of love. And I do not think my issue with this has anything to do with Keng and Namping as actors, but has everything to do with the script. Overall, I think it's still a solid watch even though the pacing can be slow at times. I was ultimately rewarded at the end because of my absolute adoration for Jet and Charn. I will undeniably follow Tle and Firstone's future works because they are so talented!
