Someone:
Is this drama truly 47 eps as written here?!!!
Yes, it is. Under 40 episodes regulation has been lifted, but I forgot when exactly.
According to Google: China officially eased or lifted the strict 40-episode cap for television dramas on August 18, 2025, as part of the National Radio and Television Administration's (NRTA) new 21-point policy directive.
While dramas can be longer than 40 eps since about 12 months ago, censorship means they can still drastically cut dramas if it doesn’t pass censorship rules.
I can think a few period dramas over the last few years that this rule was effective for that could’ve benefitted from a few additional eps. During 2022-2025.
