兰香如故 ‧ Drama ‧ 2026

Since this is one of the points that is most talked about for this drama, let’s play a “would-you-rather” game.

Just for fun. There is no right or wrong answer of course, nor winner or loser. No prize nor awards too, haha…

Leave your thoughts below for other people to ponder upon.

So, in a case where you don’t really know the groom that well yet, would you rather:

  1. Be in a forced marriage (emperor's decree, parents wishes, business/political alliances), but ending up with a loving, patient, devoted husband (which is the case in this drama); OR

  2. Going into marriage with grand proposal and wedding, but ending up with a demanding, manipulative husband (feel free to insert/replace with milder negative traits, if you want)

Interesting game! 🤓

Option 1, please.
[Be in a forced marriage (emperor's decree, parents' wishes, business/political alliances), but end up with a loving, patient, devoted husband (which is the case in this drama)]

Reason: Being in toxic relationships can have a very long-lasting effect due to emotional and psychological trauma. Dreaming of a wonderful life ahead, only to face betrayal, manipulation, and gaslighting, is one of the most painful experiences many people suffer, especially in modern-day society.

of course, I choose the first 😂 I may have been forced into marriage, but if he is such a good husband that I fall in love later, at least I can forget the past and move on with my new life.otherwise, if I marry the man I'm in love with and he becomes a bad husband, I'll regret the past and it'll be much harder to save my future🤐

At first I thought forced marriage because you'd have a good husband. But the more I thought about it the more I wonder if the husband would be that loving and devoted. In the drama he turns out that way, but in real life would a man who forced a woman to marry him and drug her actually be a good and kind person? Was the portrayal of the ML here realistic?

If I picked the second option at least I couldn't blame the husband for forcing me, it would have been my own decision and since you didn't say there's no option for divorce I would leave the marriage if the husband turned out really bad.

Better yet give us option 3. No marriage at all!

we are not going through predictions, but through the characters created in the series. After all, he wasn't a bad person. According to the question I was asked, something good comes out after I get married with a question, we're just looking at it, if we try to add a lot of possibilities, there won't be a question with these 2 options. anyway, everyone has their own opinion. "i think "

Well, of course, if you already know how everything turns out, the answer is obvious. But if you don't even like the person you're being forced to marry, the odds of developing feelings for them later aren't exactly high.

Well said.
