Here Ms Dai studied her closer because there was no way in hell a maid would have lucked into a shot first go. This was someone familiar with the game and well practiced. She now realized why all her taunting didn’t faze LanXiang. So the next stage was getting everyone back and a plan for their futures. And YuChan and other servants had raised an additional 50 silver to help with travel expenses. After wishing them well JinQi learned about the pawned jewelry to get the 500 gold for them. LanXiang left a note they would be redeemed in three months. JinQi is still gobsmacked that she bargained and won with his ex and did not spend a dime. That they negotiated about a woman’s matter that she valued was something he had no clue about nor asked her but did question YuChan. 😂🧐He found it unlikely she would earn 500 in three months but waited to see. She went to the troupe and under pseudonym Shen Rugu sold a play to all three troupes as Mr Lu’s work. There is no way the manager didn’t know but they kept it the same as old terms. This play earned them more in three months than their entire last year. 👏🏻 JinQi redeemed the jewelry and was surprised when she came in with pawn claim and money nicely boxed for him. He has no clue how smart she is or how capable. I think he will be more convinced that when she says she will accomplish something she has it handled. This episode reveals a bit of QiaLan. We see a small bit of what she could accomplish even with the commoner/maid status. I loved at the end how she looked JinQi in the eye and said she wanted to be a playwright.😂🤣👏🏻 I don’t think he could have anticipated that even after seeing her at the Naval camp and knowing her closeness with the opera troupes and Scholar Lu. He’s probably taken his cut and enjoying retirement. 😁 There is a very interesting encounter next preview.🧐😂🫣

The way she got it back, how all 3 girls are looking for ways to be independent and not relying on man. I hope we'll see them again living freely, even a glimpse. (no comment on Ji'er family and how they did her dirty 🤬)I did not expect Lanxiang to live doing what she liked to do in Jinling, writing plays. Love that for her! She's definitely good in business. 😊And can we talk about how she had a positive influence and changed the mindset of her maids? Even Yuchan who's been a maid at the Lin since way before the rest. Jinqi minimized how tough Lanxiang could be. But I liked that we get to see all that. It's really showing us that, it's not much that he does not trust her, he can't imagine a world where as a woman she could do things (like raising a lot of money) on her own without the help of a man. And not just him, even Jiugao with his comment when Yuchan was confident in her mistress's ability. We can see how men from that era just could not fathom how a woman could make it by herself.
