XiuRu and the Marquis have a conversation where he realizes she was more concerned with the welfare of their daughters than whether or not he took a concubine. He felt hurt but omg did he stop to think how alienated XiuRu was made to feel and he did nothing about it or even really notice? She knew her vote didn’t matter in the great scheme of things with sons and titles. Who knew the Marquis was such a mama’s boy?😝It was a bit underhanded from the Lins but what choice did he give them? He never really picked her, he just wanted an alliance with the family. So now that everybody is aware she is looking for a concubine, LanXiang finds three maids kneeling to be spared from being chosen. One wants to marry her friend’s brother and another doesn’t want to marry at all. LanXiang promised none from her court would be a selection. They were still happily discussing plans when Nanke shows up requesting a bride. She had no clue he liked her. 🤣🫣While he was not given an answer, he was told nobody from that court would be selected and he happily left to make plans of his own. 😁 There is a double wedding and during the festivities Yu Chan asks JiuGao’s mom if she would do as a bride candidate. He jumps right in declaring his love and they are added to the celebration. 🥰🥳 Third sis has come back to announce she is pregnant and before mom gets to digest that LanXiang is in labor. All the women are shocked JinQi was in with her. He played nervous very well, but I agree with those who do not believe a seasoned general would faint over blood. 😝 However, I do like his first question was how did she feel rather than son or daughter. Here she tells him how her mother endured a night and day to bring her into the world so she was let off easy in comparison. Later that day he chats with Ma in law who said she was only in labor half a day like her daughter. Jinqi connects the dots and knows LanXiang was not born a maid. I don’t know if he’s figured out she’s Shen Jia Lan yet, but when he replays their visit to the Shen gravesite he will have the final piece to the puzzle about her identity. As he shows her the things in his keepsake box, she admires the items and how well they were kept. Even those small and insignificant. The fact that he treasured them shows how long she has been in his heart. Gpa got the say with baby name, but fortunately LanXiang and JinQi like it. Mom Lin is very sick and plans to hold out saying anything til LanXiang’s confinement is over with. This episode shows more time passing and the third generation growing up. Happy couples and new babies make smiles all ‘round with the hint of gray on the horizon because of mom’s illness. Still enjoying this family saga very much.

So much happiness, but some trouble comes again

All the maids got married. I am so happy! Nanke was so cute about the proposal and Xiaolian too. Those two are so adorable! 🤗 And Jiugao and Yuchen also finally became a married couple. 🥰But I do worry about Jinqi's mother... That illness looks terrible — like her skin is rotting away. And the stomach ache too? What kind of illness is that? Cancer? 😟I had already given up hope that she would ever tell him she's Shen Jialan... So, now, when Jinqi realizes she's not her mother's daughter, will he ask her about it? And will she tell him? I personally hope she does. Not that it matters in general, because he loves her for the person she is, not for her name, but still, I would love to see his reaction to that and what else that could bring to their lives. 😌Congratulations to all the new parents — Jinqi and Lanxiang with their cute little daughter Zhangcheng, and Xiushu and her husband, who are expecting their first! 🤗
