He mourned a cricket while s third ranked captain was pinned to the mast and a platoon of men dead on the deck of the ship with the tribute items stolen. This asshat wanted the few soldiers left to pay for the loss, and simultaneously get rid of the pirates and restore law and order to the waterways and border towns. The Marquis and JinQi got put in charge of accomplishing impossible tasks. Jinqi responded the way you do when you have to respect the rank but despise the man.😝🤬He comes home all smiles and flattery until it is revealed he has been put in charge of a new post. The emperor has passed and his replacement seems to let the eunuchs control everything.😝🙄XiuWan is a hoot practicing the plays. Her swordsmanship is improving.🤣😂 It frites her mom crazy but so does everything else. 😝The manic mom still has the loudest and longest fake laments and vapors of everybody in the city.XiuWan is 35 and still unmarried. She has learned a trade and out investigating how things are done. Their driver gets killed and she and friend are kidnapped and taken to a bandit hideout. They manage to escspe and set the place on fire as a distraction. When leaving the camp she runs right into the Xie that was supposed to marry her.😝🫣We get a glimpse of Du Cuique who’s back on the scene. O yay the crazy is back.😝😡

Passing time, character growth and trouble again

​I personally love how Wan has become her own woman, and her mother can tell whatever she wants... 😒 Though, I am quite mad at the Second Madam and her daughter-in-law. Even after all those years (and it was EIGHT in this episode alone!), they still rant about Lanxiang being incapable and incompetent at making choices for the family and running the household only because of her birth... Really, ladies? 🙄 Even Grandpa Lin entrusted the household to her...​But damn, with those time skips, they are growing up so fast! Wan is already 35? Imagine that... 🤯And the little boy who sat in the tree with the slingshot is now 22 and married... 🫣​But I am actually quite enjoying Wan's little adventure and now I wonder who's the guy in the end scene. Xie Zhao? 🧐 I can't remember what he looked like... but the person standing next to the kidnapper boss was definitely Du Cuique, or whatever her name was! It was her chin, I am quite sure of that! Which can only mean — trouble is entering the plot again! 😳​P.S. I expected express episodes to come tomorrow, so getting five episodes today was a huge surprise to me! 🤗
