Changing of the guard

I am not sure the XiuWan ever got to see the real Xie Zhao she was betrothed to, but their meeting after her escape was a good turn. XiuWan managed to get her and friend out of the camp with a fire distraction. Xie Zhao was in the area painting and saw the fire. Then there was knife vs hairpin.🤣🫣 He pointed them to a hidden road and distracted the bandits. It’s a good thing CuiCue thought he would cause too much heat and spared him because her sidekick wanted to take him out. They made it to town and Xie Zhao had drawn pics of the three pirates. This became a wanted poster thanks to JinQi. The women chose not to report to keep reputation intact for daughter. XiuWan was glad to turn it over to LanXiang and Jinqi to handle. The eunuch gave all the wrong advise to the troops and they were defeated as well as the emperor captured. Cuicue’s sidekick is definitely lethal because he took out the Marquis with a short blade. He was quick and brutal with strikes and wore him down. He sent his backup to pass on intel and with the water, his armor was as big a hindrance as help. CuiCue wants them to believe she is solely out for revenge. While that is a part of it she has a different main goal. After her admiration of JinQi’s Marquis title, her sidekick definitely wants him next in line on the slaughter list. Jinqi has been tasked with escorting supplies and it’s a very sweet family scene packing his bags and giving him safety tokens. He is already wearing the pouch Qia Lan had designed for him so many years ago.🥰 The Eunuch’s bad decisions meant someone had to be on the throne so Han Liang helped get his choice on the throne. He was all smiles on the court floor. I’m sure all the changes has LanXiang nervous because she is watching powers shift because of eunuchs. Next preview shows CuiCue primed to take out LanXiang personally. 🫣

The Pirate Queen...

"Other than Lanxiang, what woman's face could I possibly remember for over ten years?" — Lin Jinqi. 🤗🥰The man who helped Wan get back to the city was indeed Xie Zhao, and the person under the hat of course was Du Cuique. The man who wanted to "serve" her looked a bit furious that Lin Jinqi was the one his Master once wanted to marry... Could it be jealousy? 🤨That scene with Marquis Yuan's death was very well done, in my opinion. Though, I am sad he was killed. And now I'm worried that something bad might happen to Lin Jinqi on the battlefield. Too many people are out for his blood... 🥺 His little children helping him pack, and Zhangcheng giving him that bag of blessings, was so cute. Their family is adorable and wholesome! 🫂
