Unpopular Opinion
I see a lot of people talking about the wasted potential and how this series just got worse as it went on. I completely disagree.Obviously, everyone's opinions on shows are different, so I'm not trying to attack them, but as someone who really enjoyed this show, I wanted to share what I liked about it.
I loved the plot and the way the show progressed. I know that some people felt it was rushed (which I don't understand), the only part that felt rushed to me was over a conflict that made me uncomfortable, so I'm kind of glad they went past it quickly. Honestly, I just wish they didn't include it. This show managed to make me cry twice, which automatically gives a show a leg up in my opinion.
The acting in this was really good, and the soundtrack was amazing. As someone who's played an instrument my whole life, I think the way they approached certain things and mentioned the struggles some musicians face was really well done.
Overall, I love this series. It's one of a handful of shows that I'll watch over and over again. So if you're seeing this before deciding to watch it, I hope you give it a chance.

conductas abusivas

It was OKAY
I was expecting more tbh. I was really hooked in the first 2 episodes but idk after that my expectations kinda keep going down. First of all, I didn't like the SA like fucking at all. It is gross. We should never tolerate this tbh. I was literally so uncomfortable by the way they did THAT. Also the harassement. I don't like bullyxvictim. The second lead couple was literally this. Also so much unimportant scenes and characters. The bully's sister was really a useless addition. The bully hates Tae yi just because his sister likes him. Just that nothing else. I thought that there was something more deep going on there but nah. It just made Joo Ha look pathetic. Also the main problem with KBL is always time, idk why. This had good enough run time tbh but they still couldn't use the limited time properly. KBL should learn a thing or two from Japan. Everything was shifting way too fast. Tae yi and Se heon relationship went from strangling each other to besties holding hands to strangling each other again and then to lovi dovey lovers all in just a span of 1 day. Really need a lot of time for this drama tbh. 1 hour and 16 episode kind. KBL really need to stop adapting these webtoon with 2 couples cause they can barely handle 1. But this series is still better than this company's last production. I would say that. Acting was okay, Not the best but also not bad. The ost were okay. I would say the thing I admire about this was the kiss, I though i would be left disappointed with those blur kisses and peck kisses but they actually kiss for real in the last episode with lips moving and all. So I would praise them for that since it is very rare in KBL, Overall, its okay, not anything special. I was expected more but atleast it wasn't below my expectations. Was this review helpful to you?

it's gonna try you, but in the end, you'll love it
listen, I have very mixed opinions about this show. I think when it was bad, it was definitely not enjoyable, but god, when it was good, I couldn't put it down. that being said, I do think episodes 4-6 kind of drag, but 6 starts to pick it back up towards the middle/end.the cast was phenomenal, the stand outs for me were Hangyeom as Doyoon and Jinkwon as Seheon, but the character writing could definitely use some work. specifically Juha and Taeyi. I really liked Taeyi and Seheon, but Seheon and the writing forgave him way too easily for what he did to Seheon in episode 7. AND THE ENTIRE FANDOM FORGAVE JUHA WAY TOO QUICKLY FOR FUCKING HARASSING AND ASSAULTING SEHEON TO THE POINT THAT HE WAS LITERALLY TERRIFIED OF JUHA AND HID FROM HIM. I think Jungha was incredible, he played a very good villain in the beginning, but after that, I'm sorry, but I could not get behind Juha, and I especially couldn't get behind Juha and Doyoon. Doyoon was the best character consistently, but I still can't understand for the life of me why he wants that man. Honestly, I think the story itself could've done without their romance period.
However, I think Taeyi and Seheon were fantastic, even though Taeyi was a bit iffy a lot of the time. I really enjoyed Seheon not being a pushover like most kbl protagonists, I loved that he stood up for himself, but he's definitely the bigger person in tok many situations (like with Juha at the end).
I tend to think this about every kbl I watch, but if it just had more time, it would've been so much better. I feel like the last two or so episodes were really rushed, and honestly, I just wanted to see more of Seheon and Taeyi being cute boyfriends, cause that was easily my favorite part of the show. Like just them being cute the last like 2 episodes~ completely remade the show for me, I loved it. Jinkwon and Hogeun have a lot of chemistry (and I know there's been talk of Hogeun being homophobic, and while I did find him a little stiff sometimes (weirdly before Seheon and Taeyi got together), I don't think that showed in this). I also would've liked more of Doyoon's friendship with Taeyi and Seheon, cause those were some of the best scenes across the show.
and let's talk about the kissing: bad. Juha and Doyoon's kiss, the editor needs to be fired cause the cutting on that was horrendous. I think most of Seheon and Taeyi's kisses were mid, but that last kiss?????? HOLY SHIT????? BEST KBL KISS I HAVE EVER SEEN. It genuinely made me wonder if it was improved cause it was just so natural and so good. Overall, kiss scenes were bad, but I don't expect quality from KBLs.
and I would like to use this moment to profess my love for the intro and Improvisation BECAUSE GOD I HAVE NEVER WATCH AN INTRO SO MANY TIMES. THERE IS CRACK IN THAT SONG LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, CRACK. It's literally a masterpiece, probably my favorite OST of all time, it was literally one of my top ten most streamed songs of last year for a reason.
Overall, despite some boredom and a lot of frustration, I find myself actually really fond of this show. Like I said, when it was good, it was really good, literally impossible to put down, and I have a feeling I'm going to rewatch it quite a bit in these next couple days. I know there's a lot of negative reviews of this show, and I don't blame them, there are things to criticize about it. Personally, I think the way this show handles assault and harassment (specifically the way they don't) is gross, and needs a lot of work. But I think the acting was great, the show always looked amazing, THE OST WAS POPPING, and the good moments mostly made up for the bad ones. I say, if you're on the fence, give it a watch, cause it really is good, it's just flawed, as a lot of things are, especially in this genre. I personally don't regret watching it, even as someone who doesn't usually enjoy this lighter/fluffier type of show, and I hope you won't either.

Jazz instead of Classical music
I connected with this. It's an 8+ for me. The acting was solid, they really spoke with their eyes.Jazz is juxtaposed with Classical music. Classical music has strict rules Jazz is free flowing. Classical music is a metaphor for current Korean society and Jazz is a metaphor for the LGBTQ community. The story deals with negative themes like violence against yourself and others and denial versus positives themes like self-acceptance and love. It's well worth watching.

this might be the worst BL ever after light on me
the assault scene and homophobia were so unnecessary given the fact that they get together???? like literally why even get together no one in this show is worth dating each one is worse than the other and i heard the plot changed regarding the older brother and father ?? they were into each other ?! dont even get me started on the bitchass trying to erase that he was ever apart of this show omfg this is genuinely a waste of timei cant even put 0/10 rewatch value so i must put 1 . like genuinely who wrote this story like there are so many shows that make hardships and toxicity good TO AN EXTENT . but ts isnt even good like not captivating no nothing bruh 💔💔🥀🥀🥀🥀 i watched this back in 2024 when it came out and its the only thing i ever regret doing in my life

could've been really really good
trigger warning: sexual assault, suicidewell i don't intend to make this long but i feel like i have to say something because everyone in the comments section are destroying this series lol
i mean, it wasn't bad. some things were like, really off tho.. why is the unnecesary sa always present during this kind of series? maybe if they hadn't brushed it off it could've been somewhat meaningful to the plot, but no. also, another unnecesary thing - the break up due to lack of communication. seheon, taeyi wasn't going to be mad at you just because of something your brother did. he was prob just going to be shocked and hurt but that's it, it's natural since his brother commited suicide and obviously, it had a huge impact in taeyi's life and left a big trauma, but it wasn't seheon's fault. i haven't read the manhwa so i don't really know how this whole situation was originally developed.
for me, the secondary couple outshined the main one, lol. they were really toxic and jooha was the biggest red flag ever, but i guess that's what made them more interesting for me - i love angsty relationships so bad hhhh i wanted to see more of them and they also deserved more screentime together. also, i'm 100% against violence but jooha deserved to get a little beaten up tho.. it looks like it made him realize he was acting like absolute trash :/
i think the whole plot idea was really good even though they used some tropes we've already seen, but the lack of runtime to develop the story was what made it go from excellent to.. just a good show to watch if you're bored. maybe 10 episodes would've been nice, but yeah.
...and bro, the whole story with seheon's brother and taejoon made me SO sad, he must have felt so guilty and sad, and taejoon :( deserved so much better, poor him.
anyway to sum up, it wasn't TERRIBLE as everyone in the comments is saying, the main problems basically were:
- limited runtime to fully develop a complex storyline
- unnecesary drama and lack of communication throughout the whole thing
it's not a must watch, but it was good! also ji hogeun looked gorgeous even when he was feeling sick. kudos to him and his beauty <3

As a fan of the original work it was a little disappointing
"Jazz for Two" The original work holds a special place in my heart as one of my earliest and favorite BL webtoons😁. Despite reading it two years ago, its beautiful art and touching story remain vivid in my memory. Even though it was cheesy it was so cute and funny, and heartfelt moments often brought tears to my eyes. And the romantic scenes were also so beautiful 😜Thanks to the unique and stunning artistry. When news of a live-action adaptation surfaced, I was a little scared. The webtoon's clear storytelling and picturesque art seemed tailor-made for a series, but there was also the risk of it falling flat if not executed well.
I mean they could have made the series a lot better. 🤧
Yet, there were elements that I found endearing. The recreation of familiar settings from the webtoon, such as the rundown school building and the piano room, felt like stepping into its pages. It was so nice.I liked the actors even though their performances weren't flawless, and a little mediocre, they managed to capture the essence of their characters . It was evident that they read the original work and understood it.
However, the series suffered from pacing issues, at first it was okay but in the middle and final acts. The rush to depict the characters' romance left much to be desired. They could have added Additional episodes .I felt there was a lot of holes. Especially how they ended up dating it was extreamly rushed .They could have added the last chapters when they went to the sea at least it was so cute, lovely and romantic. And the second couples had more scenes in the webtoon.
Even though i feel like the series is a cute watch for those who don't know the story, at least the story it self is enjoyable. I liked Song Han Gyeom a lot , He is so funny just like the webtoon character.
In my opinion there is a chance the rating to go down as time goes by 8.3 is too good for the series at max a 8,I like the eighth sense and semantic error more than this for sure.

Should have been longer
Firstly, I quite loved the drama a lot. I loved the story and the cast did quite a good job portraying their characters though it could have been better. The music for the drama was very nice. It had a very calming and cafe type of vibe. It was nice to listen and slightly groove to it. The story was okay overall. Now, here is my major disappointment. I really wish they had like more episodes. At least a minimum of ten or maximum of twelve episodes. Any more than that and it would have been too much. This drama could have been so much better with many episodes. I felt like a lot of the character development and some storylines were removed so that the drama could fit into 8 episodes. Though because of that, the drama felt like it was missing many parts. Sometimes from one scene to another the character suddenly changes attitude and it feels like we are missing some of their changes. Also, certain interactions between the characters had to be more developed. Like the romance between the main leads could have used more storylines. The romance between the second leads felt like it was a bit too fast as one of the second lead badly needed a redemption arc. He was a jerk and only changed near the end. So a redemption arc would have boosted the romance between the second leads. The second leads could have used more screen time and storylines as well as they had great chemistry and it was a shame to not be able to see more of them. I have more to say but I really do not want to give out spoilers so please bear with me. In total, this drama needed more episodes so that the storyline could have been a bit more expanded and we could have seen more character growth and development.
But other than that, this drama was really great. I had liked it a lot though I feel that it is a shame that we were not able to see more of them. The story and plot is really good though and could have even been on the same level as semantic error or love for love's sake if they had a bit more story. But, I am not kidding when I say I love this drama. I have not read the manga yet so when I say this drama is lacking I am teling you based on what I have watched. Please do watch this drama and decide for yourself. I hope my review helped.

Given and Semantic Error's lovechild?
Man, I really dug the musical aspect of «Jazz For Two». I wish the show had explored each character's relationship with music more than it did—especially main character Yoon Seheon's fondness of jazz. The main pairing—what can I say? I love a good enemies-to-lovers dynamic, especially one that is bridged by a common interest or goal.
As for the side "couple", I never felt compelled to root for them considering the amount of one-sided hostility depicted on-screen. Perhaps their relationship was written differently in the webtoon? Were they even meant to be rooted for in the first place?
As much as I enjoyed «Jazz For Two», I have my fair share of criticisms as well. Certain conflicts and lines of dialogue felt oddly placed and/or forced. Plot advancements are imminent, yes, but did they have to be so on-the-nose? Take the beginning scene of episode 8 as an example. Yoon Seheon gets approached by his brother and somehow makes a correct (but wildly inappropriate) guess on a situation he has little-to-no knowledge of. How exactly did he come to that conclusion?
I think the casting and cinematography of «Jazz For Two» were its main pillars. The actors did great embodying their characters, especially drama rookies Jee Hogeun and Song Hangyeom. Also lovely to see Jinkwon back on screen!
All-in-all, I give this show a pretty biased 9/10 rating. Jee Hogeun, you got me lovestruck.
