Don't waste your time. Nothing special about this drama. Boring as hell.

You Are My Secret is a modern business drama about Tu Xiao Ning and Ji Yu Heng. In it, they enter a fake marriage to avoid being pressured by their parents into getting married. They worked together in the same company, so they had to hide their relationship from their co-workers.

I dropped it after 13 episodes because it was so slow and draggy. Miles Wei is being cast to play the same role. His onscreen chemistry with the FL was not great, either.

The script was so boring, and the acting did not excite me to continue.

Synopsis: The lobby manager, Tu Xiao Ning, who works on the first floor of Huayuan Tower, is in a crucial probation period. Ji Yu Heng, a talented young man working on the seventeenth floor of the tower, is a rising star in the business. They share a common desire to get married as soon as possible, and this is where two parallel lines intersect. In Xiao Ning's eyes, Yu Heng exceeds expectations as a marriage partner. In Yu Heng's eyes, the youthful Xiao Ning once illuminated his life, and marrying her is his only firm choice. As the two muster the courage to establish their marital relationship, Yu Heng unexpectedly becomes Xiao Ning's superior. Through a twist of fate, these childhood friends from ten years ago are in a dual relationship as colleagues and newlyweds. They work together to explore the meaning of marriage and life, a journey many of us can relate to.

My Reviews:
1. This drama is so bad and boring. The plot is stupid, and the main CP's acting did not excite me enough to continue.
2. It's a typical genre that Miles Wei has been in, where he plays a nice and lovable guy.
3. The onscreen chemistry between the Main CP is non-existent.
4. I have watched 13 episodes and am dropping it because it is boring.

Overall, not good. I give it a 4.5 rating.

A weiyi e o qiyu o q tenho haver?? kkkkkkkkkk

Assistiria sem nenhum problema mais uns 30 eps!!!

Loved this

Loved this series so much. So well done and perfectly cast. I have already seen it three times. Comfort food for the eyes and ears. I am sure there are many of us that will pine for a partner like the ones we see in this series - leads or secondary characters.

Loved the ML's gentleness and patience. Always watching...always adjusting...never letting the goal waver. FL's transition from temp...to worker in a field where she would be set up to fail...to sticking it out...was so well crafted and believable. You choose your battles.

One of my favorites.

Drama confort

A sweet & satisfying story!

If you’re looking for something messy, angsty, toxic, & overflowing with drama then this is NOT the show for you. But if you want to watch a story about two adults who act their age & know how to communicate + think for themselves, then give this drama a try!

I enjoyed this way more than I expected to. I’d read reviews that complained about the Leads not actually getting married (false) & how they only shared one kiss towards the end (also false) so I was leery to start this one but I saw it was recommended for fans of the drama, “As Beautiful As You” which I absolutely loved so I decided to take a chance on this one. I’m so glad I did!! I don’t know what show those other reviewers had seen, but their complaints were so unwarranted & totally not true!

The FL has recently reentered the dating scene by attending matchmaking events after breaking up with her long term boyfriend. She encounters an old high school classmate at one of the events & he soon suggests they marry as that’s what they’re both seeking. She’s a little hesitant but quickly agrees. After all, they may not have love now, but they have trust & friendship so who’s to say love won’t come?

Unknown to her, though, they do already have love but it’s simply one-sided.

The ML fell for her at first sight in high school but he always missed his chance to confess. He chose to study abroad when she started dating then immediately made plans to come back years later when he learned she was single again. No matter the time that’s passed, his feelings have never lessened or waivered. For him, it’s only ever been & could only ever be her. He doesn’t confess this, though, as he doesn’t want to scare her off or make her uncomfortable. A “marriage of convenience” is still a marriage so he’s okay, confident that affection will come.

A few things happen to keep them from finalizing the marital paperwork (which is different from my country so I can’t fully explain it), but their parents believe it’s already legal so they choose to keep it secret since they plan to rectify it immediately. But then he suddenly becomes her immediate supervisor at the bank where they’re both employed & things get iffy. They work it out, though, but choose to wait a year before finishing the wedding procedures. And maybe this is where the other reviewer got confused? I’m not sure BUT they live like a married couple the whole time. And they do get officially married in later episodes so, again, not sure what that other person was complaining about. 🤷🏻‍♀️

And that’s pretty much how the story unfolds. They have to keep their relationship a secret from everyone but their parents & the FL’s bestie because their employer doesn’t allow office romance. If they’re discovered, one of them will be transferred or fired/forced to resign. And honestly, I was a bit worried this would cause angsty tension but it didn’t! The Leads are both very mature & truly kind people that they don’t let their work affect their personal life. They have great communication with one another, constantly talking out any potential issues & stopping misunderstandings before they can grow bigger.

They are super affectionate too. They’re constantly sneaking touches & sharing flirtatious looks. Everything about them assures the viewers that these two are solid through & through. And seriously, whoever said they only kissed once towards the end clearly didn’t actually watch the show because they kissed all the time!! Sweet nuzzles, quick pecks, slower seductions, & bedroom kisses. They did it all, repeatedly & wonderfully. They have great chemistry! 🔥🫠 I truly enjoyed watching them interact & grow closer. Learning just how much he adores her & witnessing her falling in love with him in return is such a satisfying ride. All the ways they show they trust, admire, respect, & value one another is so beautifully done. I thoroughly enjoyed their story!

The extras:

There are two additional couples &, being totally honest, I didn’t really care for either of them. They weren’t bad or anything, I just wanted more of the Leads on screen instead. That being said, there came a point in the coworkers couple where the man defended the woman & I really started enjoying their relationship after that. They both had great character growth because of the influence of one another.

The parents. I loved them all. The FL’s parents are so solid & supportive, never pushing her to do or be anything she doesn’t want. They never oppose the Leads or in any way act controlling or toxic. The ML’s mom is also precious. She, too, is never anything but 100% for the Leads being together. 🫶🏻

The love rivals. The couple handles these situations wonderfully, imho. They’re not cruel, but are firm & don’t leave room for misunderstandings. However, the delulu female wanna-be rival chooses to interpret things her own way & acts annoying for a good portion. I don’t like her at all. Why she thinks manipulation & threats would make her desirable to the ML is something I can’t comprehend. 🤯 I was very happy when she was finally put in her place with no way for her to twist his rejection. And I will say that she earned a bit of my respect when she herself came to the conclusion that I wish more drama love rivals would realize - “That’s not love. It’s obsession. Self, it’s time to wake up.” That was a definite “good job, girl!” moment. 👍🏻

The music. I really enjoyed it. It always seemed to pair well with the scenes without overpowering the acting, if that makes sense. And the lyrics are truly beautiful & match this drama so well. ❣️

Their jobs. Okay, I admit I skipped through some scenes that were purely job related as it’s a lot of banking jargon that I don’t understand. And it being the customs of another country which operates differently than my own made it even more confusing for me, haha. So yes, I skimmed through those scenes but it didn’t at all take away from my understanding of the bigger picture/theme/plot/storyline. 🤗

I highly recommend watching this if you’re in the mood for a sweet story where the Leads don’t engage in lots of drama nor do they make your heart race negatively from fear of their back-and-forth tension. This is an easy & sweet watch. 💗

Sweet and Persistent

I have to say that this drama was done quite well. There are so many trope-filled dramas out in the last few years that are over-done and ruin what could have been really good stories.

I really appreciated this drama because it lacked the histrionics and focused on mature adults who learned how to love each other well.

The M and FL’s worked quite well together, and I loved the fact that they actually learned how to communicate, adapt and work together toward their goals.

Intentional love

It was an amazing drama. The things he did to set her up in life was amazing. I felt he lived to love her forever and always. He let her follow her dreams and he never gave up his either. It was so much emotions and roller coasters. Very well written

Thanks to the entire team. I wish for them to be in more dramas together.

I came for Miles Wei and stayed

This drama was so good, adult, with depth of story and characters. It could have slipped into cunning and scheming or melodrama, but it did not. The story and characters and relationships developed well. At different points funny, sweet, serious, a little jealousy, but always a good progression. Much like other dramas with Miles Wei, it knows what it is and delivers. In this case, he is a manager, though not the Manager. He portrays each decision with maturity and you believe it. Both he and the FL show how a balanced and considerate work and home can be accomplished.

Good one

The reason I chose to watch the drama was Wei Zhe Ming, and my decision did not go in vain. The story revolves around a boy's 11 years of unrequited love, and when he gets a second chance, he seizes it without hesitation. However, the girl remains unaware of his feelings for her. It's a simple yet intriguing story. It's often said that a man's desires never stop, and although the story has a happy ending, I still wish we would have seen their children. I also enjoyed the stories of the other two couples.

Beyond your typical C-Drama

I did not have much expectations when I decided to watch this drama since it has been a while when I added this drama to my watch list. I love the actor Miles Wei/ Wei Zhe Ming and I have watched multiple of his dramas especially in the genres I love.
At first I was a bit thrown off with the english title but I decided to give it a shot, and it surely did not disappoint.

Proceeding to the actual contents of the C-Drama: I really love how well rounded the drama was made, it is not your typical drama storyline. It was able to tackle beyond the love story of the main leads, and brought in other important factors which help create balance within the story. The drama does includes tropes but it also does not skip on tackling real life problems and scenarios where we can see how the different characters handle and process these situations. It also includes scenes where characters start questioning and initiating conversations on topics that can be difficult to discuss but are important. I also enjoyed watching the different love stories within the drama and the character developments of each character.

This drama is a must watch and is now part of my top chinese dramas that I have watched throughout the years. Will for sure rewatch this again

My new favorite modern adult romance!

It exceeded all my expectations—easily becoming one of my top 3 Chinese dramas of all time!

1. My Favorite Adult Romance Trope

The “he fell first, and fell harder” trope is one of my all-time favorites, and You Are My Secret does it beautifully. Ji Yuheng has loved Xiaoning since high school but kept his feelings hidden. When they reconnect as adults, and she’s single, he doesn’t hesitate to pursue her without the typical push-and-pull drama. Their story is heartfelt and real, and I couldn’t get enough of it.

2. Perfect Screen Time Balance for the Main Couple
Although there are three couples in the story, Yiheng and Xiaoning absolutely steal the show. Their love story progresses slowly but steadily, and it feels so rewarding. We get just the right amount of moments to see how much Yiheng loves Xiaoning, and how Xiaoning gradually returns his feelings.
The second couple, with their "enemies to lovers" dynamic, is also incredibly satisfying. This is the first time I didn’t skip over the side couple’s scenes in a Chinese drama, and I’m so glad I didn’t! The third couple adds a sweet "second-chance romance" layer to the story.

3. Office Romance Done Right

While office romance is a fairly common trope, it never fails to capture my attention—especially when it's done well. In this drama, the main couple isn’t caught up in childish “hide and seek” office drama. Instead, we see how they handle their professional lives as boss and employee, supporting each other and growing together. It’s a mature, realistic portrayal of love in the workplace, and I loved every moment of it.

4. The Harmonious Asian Family Trope

It’s refreshing to see a drama that flips the typical “headache and annoying Asian family” trope on its head. You Are My Secret offers a comforting portrayal of supportive families. Xiaoning’s parents are more like her best friends—laid-back, understanding, and always in her corner. While Yiheng does face some family challenges, the way the story resolves them is so satisfying and beautifully done.

5. Fresh Perspective on the Loan Department Job Trope
I’ve seen the whole “bank loan department” trope before, especially in You Are My Lover, Friend, but this drama brings a fresh perspective. The work aspect isn’t too heavy or overwhelming, and I was still able to understand the characters’ roles and challenges. It’s a nice balance between realism and entertainment.

6. A Beautiful 32 Episodes

You Are My Secret offers a smooth, 32-episode journey with no unnecessary drama or misunderstandings. The main couple resolves any issues quickly with great communication, and I love how they manage to separate their work life from their romantic one. It’s not easy to act professionally while living together and being colleagues, but they pull it off beautifully. I’ll definitely be rewatching this comfort drama. It’s a solid 10/10!
