"it's ordinary, but happy."

It's nothing you've never seen in dramas before. This drama is simply a hoard of classic drama tropes: competent rich man (who is self made, but rich nonetheless) falling in love with your very ordinary girl, asks her to get married because he's been devotedly in love with the girl who is his highschool crush. It's dejavu all around for you audience!

YET, this drama doesn't waste time focusing on those tropes. Those tropes are just garnish to the real story: tu xiaoning and ji yuheng navigating their life together as an instant married couple. They stroll along the conflicts, resolved it without the usual heap of misunderstanding(tm) you often see in asian dramas. Yes, the conflicts end with satisfying result for our characters, but at least it shows them persevere (with very slight blood, sweat and tears) to reach it.

The second and third leading couples are also fun to watch to the point they ALMOST overshadow the 'ordinary' story of the leads.

It's a good comfort watch. Even audience with zero patience like me want to get through till the end (in 3x speed, that is). I recommend binging it in one day.

Random Pick —> New Favorite

i’m honestly not even a Chinese drama person — I clicked this one totally at random with zero expectations. The first episode was a bit awkward, like the scenes were stitched together without a clean flow, and I almost dropped it. But then it suddenly got good. Like… really good. The writing felt real, the characters felt alive, and even the supporting roles carried so much weight, I couldn’t look away. I ended up watching 10 episodes straight without realizing it.

And this is my first comment ever — I literally made an account because I couldn’t keep all these feelings to myself 🤣

The part that hit me the most was how they handled the ‘rival woman’ character. Usually she’s treated like a throwaway obstacle, but here she was given softness, hurt, motives, and a goodbye that felt so brutally human. It was honest. It was tender. And it broke me in a way I absolutely did not see coming.

For me the casting was spot on.
I saw a few comments saying the female lead is whiny or not a good fit, but honestly? I don’t see it. She’s literally meant to be plain and a bit clueless in the beginning — that’s the whole point 😭
then became someone who grows slowly and naturally — and the actress carried that so beautifully. It made her feel real, not dramatic.

And the male lead… WOW. His acting is so grounded. His micro-expressions feel so real it’s like he’s reacting to things off-camera too 😂.

Also, not gonna lie… the supporting characters grew on me way more than I expected. Some of them even stole scenes from the leads 🤣🤣

If you’re still unsure about watching it, just give it a try. It starts simple, but it warms up in a way that might surprise you 🥰

Second couple was fascinating to watch!

I was intrigued by this drama because of Miles Wei and
I have to admit that this is my first 'Miles Wei as main character drama'. Surprisingly I recognise Ke Ying (I love A Familiar Stranger). You are My Secret took me awhile to finish but once I hit halfway mark, I became more invested in the show. A great watch!

What I liked:
1. Rao Jing characterisation - I love her because she is smart, assertive, go getter. She is not a Mary Sue - her flaw gave an opportunity for her colleague to be part of her personal life, which makes her arc fascinating.
2. Zhao Fang Gang characterisation - He is like a class clown because he lights up the office. I also enjoyed his arc because I got to see his serious and unfriendly / insecure side.
3. Romance - Wow, secret office romance was hot. I actually enjoyed second couple romance more than main couple romance because second couple has fiery dynamics with the constant bickering. Their kisses were blazing hot. The third couple romance was enjoyable to watch too despite the shorter screen time.
4. Money issue - There were few instances where money became main issue for a character / couple. The fight between third couple was hard to swallow because it was a dealbreaker.
5. Acting - Overall great acting by the cast! I like the comic relief provided by Fang Gang and his two followers haha.
6. Visuals - The actors & actresses are good looking but not movie star good looking, which I like. I love Karlina Zhang's beautiful eyes.
7. Bank setting - I enjoy the cases presented at the bank. They seemed challenging & realistic.
8. Main characters' growth - I like that both main characters made mistakes and learn from them.

What I disliked:
1. Tang Yu Hui - Wow, she was delulu! Good thing she finally noticed that trait at the end of her arc.
2. Xiao Ning's characterisation - At first I dislike her character because I found her to be sheltered for a 27 year old woman. It annoyed me when she didn't know ML's coffee preference when they lived together!

Favourite scene
Second couple's second kiss 🔥

So far, so good

Through episode 18 I don't really have any negatives. I'm glad they haven't broken up so far, but I have a feeling that they will just because that's the usual story line.
I appreciate the second office romance (almost?) but the one between the best friend and the driver/former-current boyfriend/ police officer in training just doesn't interest me.
I love the OST. I hope it will be available somewhere.

An excellent drama, not memorable, but very nice.

Heartwarming Rom-Business series, with Miles Wei as ML (•ө•)♡ .

PLOT: The FL, contractual reception employee in a big bank, meets the ML, ex-high school friend, in a speed dating. They decide to get married after a while, but the FL, transferred to a new department, discovers that the ML is her direct superior. However, the bank prohibits a couple from working in the same branch. So they have to hide their relationship.

PROS:
+++ An adorable CL with great chemistry. Their interactions are very natural and cute. No unnecessary break-ups, the relationship is mature, trusting, it feels good!
+++ Very good supporting actors, who develop their characters well. The work team, the parents, ... are realistic and very endearing (I really like the CL2'S dialogues, less cliché than CL, and quite funny). We quit on an open ending for the CL3, but their break-up is realistic due to the FL3's immaturity.
+++ The pace is balanced and the production efficient. The OSTs are suitable and I like the cute sound effects.

CONS:
### Certain clichés are still present: the one-sided-love for years, the obsessed love rival, etc.

=> An excellent drama, not memorable, but very nice.

A Heartfelt Journey Through Love and Work: My First Review of "You Are My Secret"

This is the first time I’ve felt so compelled to write a review after watching a drama, and that's because You Are My Secret left me with such a deep sense of warmth that I want others to experience it too. It’s not just about romance, but about growth, understanding, and the complexity of life after marriage. What starts as a reunion between childhood friends, Tu Xiao Ning and Ji Yu Heng, blossoms into a touching story of partnership and navigating life's surprises together.

One of the aspects I loved the most about this drama is how it perfectly captures the delicate balance of relationships—how love, trust, and the reality of working together can affect two people. Xiao Ning, who is in a probationary period as a lobby manager, faces her own struggles and aspirations, while Yu Heng, a rising star in business, is calm and determined. They both share a dream of settling down and getting married, but the drama beautifully shows that marriage is more than just a checkbox—it’s a continuous journey of mutual understanding.

What really made the story stand out for me is how these two characters, who once knew each other in their youth, find themselves as both colleagues and newlyweds. That dynamic creates a lot of tension, but in a heartwarming and relatable way. You see their vulnerability, how they juggle work and personal life, and how being in a marriage can sometimes mean rediscovering each other in unexpected ways.

Visually, You Are My Secret is as soft and comforting as the story itself. The office setting, contrasted with their shared personal spaces, feels symbolic of the challenges they face—where love and work sometimes collide. It’s beautifully shot, and the warm tones really enhance that sense of intimacy between the leads. The moments where Xiao Ning and Yu Heng are alone, figuring out how to make their new life work, are some of the best scenes because they feel so genuine and full of quiet emotion.

The soundtrack plays a key role too. It’s not overpowering, but gently elevates the tender moments and the occasional conflict between the characters. It’s one of those soundtracks that sticks with you, matching the mood of each scene perfectly, from the office discussions to the more personal, emotional beats of the show.

If there’s anything that slowed me down a little while watching, it would be the pacing during the middle episodes. Sometimes the plot feels like it’s treading water as the relationship dynamics at work get a bit repetitive, but it’s worth sticking through those moments. The payoff comes when you see how much Xiao Ning and Yu Heng grow not just as individuals but as partners, learning the true meaning of support and trust in both their marriage and careers.

Ultimately, You Are My Secret feels like a refreshing take on modern relationships. It’s tender, sincere, and manages to balance the complexities of love and work life in a way that feels relatable. If you’re looking for a drama that’s not overly dramatic but still pulls at your heartstrings with its honesty and warmth, this one should definitely be on your watchlist.

Why I recommend it: If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to balance personal life with professional ambitions, this drama offers a heartfelt and realistic portrayal. It’s perfect for anyone who enjoys romantic stories that dive deeper into the realities of marriage and partnership.

smooth sailing, misunderstanding free slice of life office romance!

no damsel in distress plots, no long winded misunderstanding plots, no breakups, lovely parents, no annoying characters FULL OF FLUFF!

You might take some time to warm up to the drama with the first 3 episodes because our leads get married very fast. But after that there are soo many cute and fluttering moments! They are a couple throughout the drama which is so rare to see in dramas. I would say the plot is a very realistic plot without cliches to add drama/issues. The chemistry between the leads is good and Miles was really a green flag!

I personally also loved the dynamics of the 2 managers their enemies to lovers story was also very interesting and cute. The pacing of the drama was done well where the manager couple's tension increases midway just as our main couple is in a stable relationship. I was not very interested in the best friend's relationship tho....but they only took up a very small part of the screentime so it was okay.

There is no love triangle but there is a bit of ex situation but it doesnt cause any issues. Its mostly just because their entire relationship is a secret the ex thinks he has a chance.

Overall, a mature romance drama with a simple office drama plot! Might rewatch for the fluff~

Cute and easygoing drama.

A fun, light-hearted drama to watch if you're looking to binge. Nothing much to say other than its enjoyable and uncomplicated. There's definitely moments that I particularly liked- that I'll most likely rewatch again... but in terms of the whole thing, I feel like its a "good once, not good twice" type of drama. At the second watch, I'll for sure be more nitpicky so just this once (and so I'm giving it an 7.5) is okay with me.

Its definitely a simple drama so if you're looking for more depth and complexity... you probably won't like this drama.

NAVIGATING LOVE AND CORPORATE AMBITION

After finishing *You Are My Secret*, I must say it was an emotional rollercoaster with lots of heartfelt moments, corporate drama, and character growth. The drama follows Tu Xiaoning and Ji Yuheng, two old schoolmates who reconnect at a matchmaking event. Xiaoning is a hardworking, persistent woman who's yet to land a permanent position. Yuheng, on the other hand, is already in a top position.

The chemistry between Xiaoning and Yuheng is undeniable, and it was a joy watching Yuheng's quiet, caring nature unfold. The way he pays attention to Xiaoning is so intentional and sweet. Even though he’s her boss, they have a genuine partnership, supporting each other both at work and in their personal lives.

I loved how the story gave space for both characters to grow individually and together. Xiaoning’s struggles in a competitive work environment were relatable, and Yuheng’s emotional vulnerability, especially dealing with the loss of his mother and revealing his long-time love for Xiaoning, was touching. The subplot with Lu Sijing, Xiaoning’s ex, brought some tension, but Yuheng’s jealousy and boldness in protecting Xiaoning added a layer of excitement to their romance.

The office drama, particularly with antagonists like Zhao Fanggang and Tang Yuhui, added plenty of conflict. I found myself rooting for Xiaoning as she stood her ground against Tang Yuhui, and I enjoyed watching Fanggang’s transformation from a tough, resentful employee to a loyal and supportive friend. His slow-burn romance with Rao Jing was also adorable, despite the constant bickering.

However, the drama did have its frustrating moments, especially with Tang Yuhui’s obsession with Yuheng. Her constant attempts to sabotage Xiaoning and Yuheng’s relationship were annoying at times, and I felt her arc dragged a bit longer than necessary. Thankfully, Yuhui finally realized her obsession wasn’t love.

The ending tied everything up beautifully with Yuheng and Xiaoning finally getting married after so many ups and downs. It was heartwarming to see their journey culminate in a wedding, with Fanggang and Rao Jing’s relationship also blooming. The soundtrack complemented the emotional beats of the drama and I appreciated the blend of humour and drama throughout the series.

Overall, You Are My Secret was a delightful mix of romance, corporate politics, and personal growth. The characters felt real, and their relationships were both heartwarming and relatable. It’s definitely a drama I’d recommend if you’re looking for something light but with depth, especially if you enjoy office romances with a bit of intrigue!

Watch it, Its really Good

This show is top-tier. I just randomly put it on because I was bored, and I can tell you that this is one of the best office romances I have ever watched. This show has unlimited kissing sense, a very green flag guy and really cool co workers. The show has everything, Romance, Family, A little tear jerker and a little drama.

Don't waste your time. Nothing special about this drama. Boring as hell.

You Are My Secret is a modern business drama about Tu Xiao Ning and Ji Yu Heng. In it, they enter a fake marriage to avoid being pressured by their parents into getting married. They worked together in the same company, so they had to hide their relationship from their co-workers.

I dropped it after 13 episodes because it was so slow and draggy. Miles Wei is being cast to play the same role. His onscreen chemistry with the FL was not great, either.

The script was so boring, and the acting did not excite me to continue.

Synopsis: The lobby manager, Tu Xiao Ning, who works on the first floor of Huayuan Tower, is in a crucial probation period. Ji Yu Heng, a talented young man working on the seventeenth floor of the tower, is a rising star in the business. They share a common desire to get married as soon as possible, and this is where two parallel lines intersect. In Xiao Ning's eyes, Yu Heng exceeds expectations as a marriage partner. In Yu Heng's eyes, the youthful Xiao Ning once illuminated his life, and marrying her is his only firm choice. As the two muster the courage to establish their marital relationship, Yu Heng unexpectedly becomes Xiao Ning's superior. Through a twist of fate, these childhood friends from ten years ago are in a dual relationship as colleagues and newlyweds. They work together to explore the meaning of marriage and life, a journey many of us can relate to.

My Reviews:
1. This drama is so bad and boring. The plot is stupid, and the main CP's acting did not excite me enough to continue.
2. It's a typical genre that Miles Wei has been in, where he plays a nice and lovable guy.
3. The onscreen chemistry between the Main CP is non-existent.
4. I have watched 13 episodes and am dropping it because it is boring.

Overall, not good. I give it a 4.5 rating.
