Looking for something to do during the summer, Akihiko Suzuki teams up with four girls, Namie, Natsumi, Mishio, and Komugi, and a guy named Kosuke, to start a little cafe down by the beach. Actually, he is more interested in girls than the job. They used to ignore him, but by working at the cafe, he hopes to start a friendship with them.

I'll recommend Quartet because the story is also about four people with their own problems. The only difference is all Quartet members are Musician.

A drama that tells the story of a lighthearted friendship. I think these two dramas have the same plot, it's just that the setting is different.

A love story unfolds about 7 people, including Kume Masakazu. They are in their 30's, live in Tokyo, and have their own views on love and friendship. Kume Masakazu is single and 33-years-old. He works as a struggling screenwriter. He doesn't have a girlfriend, because he has decided to cut off contact with a woman after meeting them 3 times. Because of his tendency to run away from love, his friends call him the "Man Without Love."

It is the same scriptwriter, so the style is similar though the story is very different. There is more romance, and drama, but there is the same feel of "very character driven" and the importance of communication.

It remind me of this drama with similar story line of group of adults who got friends opposite sex & they all try overcome obstacles & hardship in their friendship. Starring famous Japanese actor & actresses.
