Ku A Ming is a fourth grader in a small town who came from a poor single-parent family. A young fine art teacher, Kuo, from the city, is assigned to teach in this small town, and he finds that A Ming is very talented in art, although he performs badly in school. During a nationwide competition, Kuo votes for A Ming to represent the school, but most of the teachers voted for mayor's son for their own benefit.
