I love the story.... but then I believe that the production can improve overall it's good it would have been better if the audience got the pov of the male lead rather than only focusing on female lead. the drama is focused only on the main character so it was hard to catch up the side or supporting characters.I also does not like the character of the male lead as he's portray as a good boy but it's like he's trying too hard and you know what sometimes his acting is abit off and it's hard to believe. iykyk
overall I love it I enjoyed it a lot....

Fun, hot
This is a fun story about a player female lead who meets her match. A woman who knows what she wants to do but does struggle with figuring out her feelings. A bit of a role reversal bad girl goes soft type of deal and yes I loved it. And I love therm. The male lead is smart, fun, knows how to play and satisfy our female lead and actually gets the notion of consent pretty well (not perfectly but) :"You are to drunk to consent to anything so not tonight".
The friendships are good, and we get just enough elements from the other dramas in the series to be able to connect them without letting the other series take away focus from the plot.
The scenery and food is gorgeous and I do believe this has more sex-scenes than a Thai BL.
This could probably have been a 9, even with its clice predictable plot but then came the las cringeyest cringe episode ever to be shown in Dramaland, and trust me there is a lot of cringe out there but I do believe this probably beet them all.
So mind the cringe, mind the female leads fears, the reason for the break up... ok you will need to overlook quite a bit... If you can overlook it all you are in for an enjoyable ride, as this is a very easy binge... even with the cringe...

Envolvente!

Another Level
Can’t believe we’re already on Part 2 of Gwy’s College Series! 🔥Things are definitely heating up — Yana’s boldness is next level! I’m also reading the original on Wattpad, and I love how confident she is here, especially the way she sets her boundaries.
Also loving Sam’s role as the best friend — super chill, composed, and quietly powerful. 👌
Overall, the series is pretty solid. I’m so excited to see how the rest of the girls’ stories unfold! 💕📚

From Casual to Captivating
Safe Skies, Archer is a Filipino romantic drama miniseries adapted from Gwy Saludes’ popular University Series novels. Directed by Gino M. Santos, the 10-episode run aired from November 2023 to January 2024 on Viva One, and streams internationally via Rakuten Viki. The story follows Hiro (Jerome Ponce), an aspiring pilot on the brink of training in Florida, and Yanna (Krissha Viaje), a carefree young woman who lives in the moment. What starts as a casual arrangement evolves into something deeper, tested by ambition, sacrifice, and the pull of true connection.
I’ve always known Jerome Ponce to be a reliable actor, and he doesn’t disappoint here—bringing warmth, charm, and quiet intensity to Hiro. Krissha Viaje, whom I first noticed in Mga Batang Riles and in The Juans’ Dulo music video, takes on her first lead role as Yanna, and she absolutely delivers. Her performance captures both Yanna’s confidence and her hidden scars, making her incredibly relatable.
The chemistry between Jerome and Krissha is magnetic—playful, flirty, and heartfelt, pulling you right into their story. Their dynamic feels immersive, almost as if you’re part of their world. It helps, too, that the ensemble cast adds richness: Dani Zee is a standout as Avi, supporting players like Aubrey bring extra spark.
Visually, the series is polished and vibrant, with moments that hit hard emotionally but still feel fun and youthful. The writing also flips expectations—a “bad girl goes soft” arc where Yanna, who begins as bold and unfiltered, slowly reveals her vulnerability. It’s refreshing to see a female lead allowed to be messy, playful, and strong in her own right. Hiro, meanwhile, balances her with charm and empathy, making their relationship feel both passionate and genuine.
As someone new to thethe University Series novels, I found watching this adaptation rewarding. Even if I am new to the universe, Safe Skies, Archer works as a heartfelt, engaging romance on its own. It’s well-crafted, never cringey, and brimming with the kind of giddy that makes you want to binge-watch—or rewatch long after the credits roll.
Verdict: A polished, emotionally resonant miniseries carried by the undeniable chemistry of Jerome Ponce and Krissha Viaje. Heartfelt, fun, and refreshingly modern—it’s a love story that soars.

Started off with Fun and Sexy Flirting but ended with a predictable plot and cringe lines.
Subjective Gut Rating: 8.25The drama was going so well in the college-day timeline, but then lost its sparks a little in the last couple episodes. “Safe Skies, Archer” started off with some of the sexiest flirting I’ve seen in an Asian drama. There’s a lot of curse words and sex talk (but nothing too sexually explicit), so beware.
Krissha Viaje is such a beautiful and sexy actress, and is perfectly casted as Yanna. If I’m a guy, I would be attracted to her, too. Jerome Ponce might not be my kinda handsome, and he looks way too old to be a college student. And what is up with his sweater-on-shoulder preppy look. But he has good chemistry with Krissha and played a kind and caring, yet just as flirty Hiro. Her straightforward and a little overdramatic flirting is perfectly matched with his more subtle but just as shameless flirting. Most of the drama focuses on their university days and how they started as FUBUs (Fuck Buddies) and ended up falling in love.
However, I was somewhat disappointed in how they parted ways. I wish the novelist/scriptwriter would have found a more original and less cliche way for them to break up. When they met again after the time slip, those last 2.5 episodes are dominated by the storyline on the reason they parted. I miss their early episodes’ fun chemistry and sexy flirting. Unfortunately, as my friend @Shiro wrote in her review, the last 2 episodes were cringe. I would say the last episode is the worst with lines coming straight out of a textbook of the most popular cringe lines ever. Maybe this is the style of Filipino rom-coms that I am not quite used to yet.
The plot is predictable but enjoyable for the most part. There are some things that I question the logic behind the action, but nothing too outrageous. The characters really didn’t do much aside from drinking, partying, and flirting. All our leads did was eating, drinking, flirting, sex and traveling to have more sex. They do have some nice conversations and show a more vulnerable side of Yanna, and the green-flag personality of Hiro. The girlfriend circle is fine and none of the girls is annoying. I did not watch the first series, “The Rain in Espana” and the drama didn’t confuse me at all. I had a glimpse of Luna and Kalix here and I am not interested in their personalities and acting to watch “The Rain in Espana”. Now, I do want to follow Sam’s story in “Avenues of the Diamond”.
Even though the last 3 episodes are not as enjoyable as the first 7, I did have a good time watching “Safe Skies, Archer”. The flirting is just too much fun. It’s an easy binge for a romance fix. I might have found some lines cringey, but you might eat it all up.

okay langi
I love the storyline wherein the pilot fell in love with the flight attendant. I don't like the casting they don't have chemistry at all. At first I kinda don't like it because I don't like the girl's character I know it's just her role in here, but later on I kinda like it as the story goes on. I don't like Jerome Ponce I can see that his trying too hard to be a good boy here, and Krissha Viaje is trying too hard to be a bitchy type of girl This is for adults only too much skin is shown in this drama. Overall this drama is not that good and it also not that bad. I like the ending that they built a family on their own. 😍Was this review helpful to you?
Wonderfully done!
Its perfectly done drama since 1st episode. You’ll nit get tired od watching it. Done rewatching my favourite scenes. Both ML and FL done a good job for portraying their roles. Hope to have a season 2 of SSA to see their love story after getting marriage and meeting both parents of male leads. All those back stories when Hiro returned and never found yana and all that missing stuff on the series. All in all it was a really good drama. Was this review helpful to you?
