My Smile Code Review

This is my review of the series. The plot is really interesting, but I feel it wasn’t executed well, though it’s still entertaining. I really love the friendship between Yu Dule and Gu Yi—he’s so protective of her. The arc of Gu Yi’s mom is just so painful.

As for the acting, all the actors did really well, but Shen Yue stands out in this drama. Her presence on screen is commanding, and she has improved so much. The cinematography is top-notch; it honestly feels like I'm not watching a Chinese drama—it’s just so good! The music and OST fit so well with the scenes, and I just love it.

I would rate it 8.5/10. It's recommendable, but I doubt you’d want to watch it again because it’s quite long.

This is not your normal Chinese series. It’s tackling a very important issues right now which is the mental health issues! The cast are very impressive specially Shen Yue, she is really outstanding in this drama, she gave Justice to her role without exaggeration and over acting, I can say that she really grew to become a very effective and great actress, someone that you can never underestimate. You have to have a deep understanding to fully understand the series. I love the chemistry of lead actors and actress, they were very normal and relatable. I will highly recommend this. It’s not a regular series. It’s a series that teaches life lesson too! 10/10 for me without bias . Kudos to Shen Yue Tears ♥️

Even though I watched it with English subtitles, which is not my first language, and didn’t fully understand the story, I found this C-drama very touching. I was especially moved by the parts that portray the life of an optimistic single mom and her morals, the relationship between mother and daughter, the dynamic between mother-in-law and son-in-law, the support in the relationship between the male and female leads, and friendships. After I finished watching, I felt fulfilled and deeply impressed, especially by scenes like the marriage proposal at the end, which was super cute. Their performances made me believe in and feel hopeful about healthy relationships. The scenes involving Gu Yi’s mom were masterpieces in terms of both performance and emotion. I can’t fully describe how impressed I am by this drama. A round of applause to the entire team.

Best Cinematography of all Shen Yue’s Drama

I finished the latest release episode in one go and so far Shen Yue microexpression really improves a lot. Some might confuse the main content of this story is comedy talkshow but it is not. This is more of drama that focus on healing of the past. Yue like the moon itself will give the light & sunshine on her ML. I am not surprised between the chemisty of Shen Yue & Lin Yi since they are best friend in real life. It comes naturally. I really hope the upcoming episode will not give us any long dull moment since this is 34 episode - this is one the weakest part of every cdrama with many episode.

I would to thank Director Che for giving Shen Yue’s drama quality of production. Knowing that Yueyue wants to become a director and it will give her abetter idea on how create good production in the future.
