Definitely worth your time

One of my favorite drama. The story was long but worth to watch<3. I’ve learned a lot of things while watching this drama especially with the main characters.

Romance: 9/10
A lot of sacrifice were made in the story but it’s slightly exaggerated.

Action: 7/10
It’s not that it’s bad. There’s just not enough screentime of combats.

Following the story wasn’t quite easy. The names were hard to remember, the beginning was a bit rushed and it took me a while to understand what exactly is her goal. Episode was more understandable.

The visual is so pretty (although some parts we can’t get over the green screen)

A game of deception, a war lost to love

Storyline: Overall a great storyline with unpredictable twists of fate and painful sacrifices. The good moments were fleeting, chased by conflicts. The story starts off light-hearded and comedic as we watch Jo Bozai and Ming Yi compete in a war of deception; who can out-decieve the other? We see Ji Bozai mercilessly using and deceiving Ming Yi, taking advantage of this useful pawn that fell into his arms. It isnt until he falls in love with her that he learns to cherish her. The prideful Ming Yi isnt much different; deceiving him relentlessly even as he is willing to sacrifice himself to save her again and again. And then she fell in love with him. Suddenly they were both decieving eachother in attempts to keep the other alive. Ming Yi leaving Ji Bozai not because she stopped loving him, but because she couldnt bear to steal his Golden Millet Dream. Ji Bozai keeping it a secret from Ming Yi that he endured so much pain and suffering to refine the Golden Millet Dream for Ming Yi to be cured. Omg the frustration of this deception is so much worse than the deception to self-preserve! I was constantly pulling my hair, wondering when the truth would be revealed! I love the playful and flirtatious banter between these two and their chemistry is off the charts!

Lets talk about Situ Ling. An exceptionally pitiful character chained by his upbringing and background, tortured by his obsession with Ming Yi. This character definitely brings about the question of when is obsession acceptable? Dont viewers enjoy it when the antihero sacrifices the world in order to save his one lover? Thats what Situ Ling essentially does. He tries everything in his power to take care of and love Ming Yi. He is just misguided in this illusion of love. Ming Yi never wants Situ Ling to do these things for her; she never wanted him to transfer his lifespan to her. Yet at the same time, Ming Yi didnt want Ji Bozai to sacrifice himself to save her either? So what makes it okay for Ji Bozai to do it and not Situ Ling? Is it because Ming Yi doesnt love Situ Ling and expresses again and again that she wants to leave a respectable boundary between them but he keeps crossing it? Situ Ling is a great foil to Ji Bozai: both came from backgrounds of torture and suffering and yet Ji Bozai chooses to do good. But would Situ Ling also choose to be good if he found love too? While a pitiful character, I can't get past his soft "jie jie", it gives me chills 🙈

As much as I love xianxia, i cant enjoy it because of the obsessesion with pain and suffering. If I got paid for everytime the antidote is painful to prepare/endure, I'd be rich. There also really isnt much thought-provoking happening in the drama. The answers and foreshadowing are given to us in memories immediately as the twist is revealed. It doesnt give me enough time to guess the twists myself. Solutions to problems are often some kind of herb or some kind of array.

Casting: I love Neo Hou because he is SUCH a crier! When he cries, i cry. He portrays microexpressions of love and pain so absolutely well! I fell in love with him in Back From The Brink and so many of his dramas have sad endings. Im so glad this was a happy one! Lu Yuxiao has an interesting sound of speech and is also a painful crier. I think she portrayed this role v well and im glad they picked her! A lot of times, side characters dont know how to shed tears but the entire cast knew how to cry! Which made the experience all the more real!

Music: ooh so good! Emotional and fits so well with the scenes they play in! It got to a point where hearing the ost from this drama triggered a pain response. I can recognize Liu Yuning's and Neo Hou's voice anywhere! I also super appreciate it when the actors sing the drama ost, it feels more immersive!

Overall an enjoyable experience! Just too painful to rewatch. I had to take a break from watching because i was too emotionally invested. Some plot twists, i did not see coming and i was so invested!

Extra side note: am i supposed to be assuming something between 27 and Buxiu? I feel like theres some room for that.

you know that feeling when you start a drama and then you feel mentally and emotionally empty when you finish it????😭 yeah i felt that when i unfortunately finished this one. but you won’t believe how many twists are in this drama😭 and dont even get me started on the cp🫰🏻love this couple so much and i hope they will star in a modern drama like HMH said in one of their interviews?? no but seriously the chemistry was actually so good i cried after the last ep. if you watch this and like the non toxic love triangle, amazing cp, turns of tables, and beautiful costumes, you are going to love my other all-time favouite: the princess royal💁‍♀️

This show surprised me. I wasn't expecting to love it as much as I did, but the story / premise pulled me in and I had a hard time pacing myself (and not binging the whole show).

Lu Yu Xiao was excellent as usual and her character was absolutely fantastic. I loved her and loved Lu Yu Xiao's depiction of her struggles and triumphs.

However, I think this is the first drama where I was able to really enjoy Hou Ming Hao in a role, and by that I mean the FMC was just as well written as the MMC and therefore I enjoyed watching their scenes together. I've found that with other Hou Ming Hao dramas, the FMC gets on my nerves even though his character does not. I'd started to assume that Hou Ming Hao only selected dramas with irritating FMC and that I should avoid his shows. Thankfully, this drama proved me wrong; I will now check out more from him.

I really like the storyline

I have started watching Love in the Clouds when it came out. I rewatched it to get a better understanding of this Chinese drama show. This was the first show I had seen from the Enemies to Lovers Chinese drama show. I rewatched it from November 2, 2025, to December 25, 2025. Episode 1 to Episode 26 was watch from YouTube, while episode 27 to episode 36 were watched on kisskh. I noticed that Ji Bozai suddenly fell in love with Ming Yi when they first met in episode 1. The way he picks her up and puts her on the counter makes me think that Ji Bozai has a crush on Ming Yi in episode 2. I really like the part when Ji Bozai says Ming Yi is his, protect Ming Yi, and tell people from Yaoguang Mountain to get lost. It makes me think it's not suspicious from Yan Xiao, and seeing them have a show in front of them makes him single. It's funny when Ji Bozai says, " Who's the dog while Yan Xiao says, " Who's the mouse in episode 5. The scene where Ming Yi fainted in Ji Bozai's arms when her stomach made a sound that she was hungry. It's funny how Ji Bozai put Ming Yi's hairpin in his hair in episode 6. I like how Ming Yi would pinch Ji Bozai's back for his plans in episode 6. I really like how Ming Yi is cursing about Ji Bozai, and that's why he is sneezing when someone else is talking about him very badly. I guess Ji Bozai does feel sorry for Ming Yi for what he did to her in episode 7. I really like this scene where Yan Xiao says that's why Ji Bozai wants Ming Yi by his side, because she's smart and can get him out of trouble in episode 7. It's cute how they both poke each other's foreheads. It's funny how Ming Yi tells Ji Bozai to hide, and the way Immortal Situ Ling calls her sister. I really like the second fight scene, Xu Ming VS Ji Bozai in episode 11. I like the scene where Ming Yi tells Ji Bozi if he forgotten how to act. I think Ji Bozai can sense that Ming Yi is in danger in episode 13. It's funny how Ji Bozai and Ming Yi have a pretend fight with each other in episode 14. I feel Ming Yi cares about Ji Bozai, and she also suddendly have a crush on him. It is when she saved him from the netherbeast-luring caltrop from his body. It's in episode 17. I like the way Ji Bozai sneezes when Situ Ling tells Ming Yi to repay him with her hand in marriage. I feel the way Ji Bozai smiles on his face makes me think he enjoys it when Zhang Tai and Ming Yi are talking about him in episode 20. Did anyone notice that Ji Bozai was holding hands with Ming Yi when he was giving her a flower in episode 22? I really like the scene where Ji Bozai kisses Ming Yi in episode 25. It looks like Ji Bozai is competing for Ming Yi's attention against Situ Ling in episode 28. It reminds me back in episode where Ji Bozai would show both of their hands to Situ Ling. I like how Ming Yi asks Ji Bozai when did he gave her the Golden Millet Dream to her in episode 30. I like how Ji Bozai hugs Ming Yi in episode 33. I like how Ming Yi cares about Ji Bozai when he wakes up in episode 34. The way Ji Bozai put Ming Yi's hands on his face is cute and funny at the same time in episode 36. I was waiting for the time he finally confessed to Ming Yi that he liked her.I really like that poke, and the look from Ji Bozai reminds me of the earlier episodes with them. I am really happy about the happy ending with Ji Bozai and Ming Yi!! I didn't like how Ji Bozai hurt Ming Yi. I didn't like how Chao Yuan treated Fuyue and told her to shut up. I feel bad for her.

One and Only Romance of 2025 !!!

This drama didn't look like it would be this great.
The acting is the creme dela creme. Ji Bozai is our superhero, behaving like the perfect man. Our beloved Ming Yi is so cunning and yet so lovable. Even the bad guys are amazing, and you can almost believe they're actually evil. I love the plot; no episode is boring; something happens in every episode, leaving you wanting more.
Plus, the music is like a dream - my favorite soundrtrack so far. All the cinematography is so beautifully done, the costumes, the effects. Absolutely amaizng. The story is captivating, giving us threads to cry over, get angry at, feel sympathy for, and find romance. You root for the main characters the entire time, but the support characters are also fantastic.

I recommend it to any romance and action fan. The fight scenes are beautifully done. The love scenes too, it's a shame there's no sequel. Nothing is as great as this drama these days.

The angst is so deliciousssssssss

Oh my god if you love deliciously delicious angst with lots of political intrigue, two strong leads fighting evil together and high stakes forbidden romance you HAVE TO WATCH this. 😆

The premise already it's so angsty. Like he might have been the one who sabotaged you to lose a competition which will literally determine the life of your people and made you into a traitor?? ANGST. Youre poisoned and he might be the only one with the antidote???? ANGSTTTT. Also he doesn't know that you're secretly a woman and he is a suspicious of everyone playboy??? More angst! Angst fest, angst feast might I say. SO DELICIOUSSSSS 😫🤌🏼✨

This is just the perfect recipie for so many knife to the throat scenes and I was not disappointed. It was better infact.

I cant spoil anything because I would be taking away the absolute EXPERIENCE that this drama is but the ✨tension✨, the ✨hurt✨ the ✨longing✨ the ✨yearning✨ the ✨✨✨✨two strong warriors fighting evil together?????✨✨✨✨✨ Ugh UGHHH

Top Notch chemistry of the Leads.....

This drama is just a legend....it got me giggling, laughing, blushing, and everything.....usually in another cdramas fl seducing ml looks very cringe...and I hate that cringeness and acting cute blah blah.....but in this drama...not even for a second i got cringed. I really, really like the fl and her acting....her seducing methods were too fun for me....like I genuinely liked each and every second of the drama....and their visuals, chemistry is top notch.....like the way Ji Bozai looks at Ming Yi...oh my goosshh....
I love JI BOZAI and MING YI too much....my life will be fully completed if i can see them in another drama again...

I love this drama; it is truly one of the best I have ever watched. In my opinion, there wasn’t a single boring episode, and the story stayed engaging throughout. The acting was excellent, and the cast was perfectly chosen for their roles. I have been watching dramas for many years, and usually, dramas of the same genre start to feel stretched after a few episodes. However, this one never gave that feeling and remained interesting from start to finish. I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend this drama to anyone looking for a well-made and engaging series.
