One of the best enemies to lovers drama of all time!✨️

I have been eagerly anticipating this masterpiece for a long time. It captivates, fascinates, engages and enchants the audiences with its extraordinary and unique top notch plot. Even though I have read the novel, it has been impossible to tell what would happen next as the story is very cleverly adapted to include core events and the main story of the novel yet many things are seemlessly changed and integrated perfectly to improve the experience which keeps the novel readers at the edge of their seats at all times. 💯

First of all, I have to give my highest commendation for the actor/actresses choices for this drama, from the main characters to their companion beast characters to the supporting characters to the villians, they all have served incredibly well. This drama is studded with exteremely handsome actors and beautiful actresses. HMH is my most favourite actor who with his phenominal talent, hard work and commitment, always delivers his awe-inspiringly complex and supremely versatile roles spectularly, immaculately and impeccably well. He always leaves the audience charmed and enchanted with unforgettable performances. It's my first time watching LYX, I'm thoroughly impressed with her extremely remarkable, stunning, dazzling, astonishing and impressive acting, she has gone straight to my top 5 actresses list. Both main leads nailed the complexity of the characters they have portrayed to the finest details 👌. All the others actors also entranced me with their brilliant, dynamic and captivating acting. They have displayed their deep emotions, passion, feelings flawlessly and their stories unfolded magnificently and seamlessly well with good pacing. Their dynamic and smooth chemistry with each other and the main characters brought this masterpiece to life.

💫HMH has portrayed the complex character of JBZ incredibly well. JBZ is very powerful and majestic warrior who has grand ambitions and hidden goals. He is a mysterious character who clawed his way out of horrible and brutal prison to the heights of honorable and respectable warrior in his realm. JBZ is incredibly smart, cunning, calculating, cautious, decisive, manupilative, and talented person in general. Although he is good, kind, caring and righteous person at heart, he carries the weight of deep emotional scars he was left with due to being abandoned by his parents, enduring unbearable painful suffering in the prison and betrayal of people he reluctantly trusted . At times these scars resurface and cloud his decisions, judgments and actions but thankfully and luckily he meets people who show him sincerity, love and care. So he becomes open to change, learns to overcome his fears, dares to love wholeheartedly, care and trust and be sincere and forgiving. I love his calm, witty, elegant, graceful, funny, determined and loving side yet I am also blown away by his incredibly powerful and skillful warrior side too.

💫LYX also nailed her intricate and sophisticated character as MY/MX. MX is undefeated God of war for 7 consecutive years. This warrior is also crown prince of his realm. Although this warrior's life looks glamorous, glorious and worthy of envy, MY is pitiful person who can't even declare her real gender to the world. Her parents drilled it into her that loosing is not an option. Yet after giving her all to win everytime for the sake her parents and people of her kingdom, she has never got genuine love, respect or rewards. When she lost for the first time due to being poisoned, no one hesitated to point fingers at her, throwing accusations at her or prosecuting her. Hiding her identity and lying to protect it has become second nature to her since childhood. With luck she does meet some sincere, caring and protective people too. Like JBZ she retains her kind, sincere and righteous nature underneath the cloak of false identity she has had to maintain for life. However, her traumatic struggles didn't leave her untainted either she yearns for unconditional love, care, happy and carefree life yet she has been trained to think and act for the kingdom/others, so she seldom puts herself first. She always readily puts her health, dreams, happiness and even her life on the line when she decides someone is important to her.

💫The chemistry between the main leads is off the charts❤️‍🔥!! Whether they are playing humorous cat and mouse games pretenting to fall for each other, or dangerous games of deception to use each other or sincere attempt to help/protect the other or when actually genuinely fallen in love trying to confirm/hide their feelings, they never fail to captivate the audience with their electrifying, exotic, charming, heart-warming and alluring chemistry. Being with each other both show sides to each other which they never have shown to anyone. They are funny, bubbly, adorable, flirtious, playful and love to tease each other. They are always ready to protect each other at the cost of their lives. They learn to see, feel and understand each other's heartwrentching painful pasts, other's prespective and current struggles, and try their best to heal each other physically and emotionally. Through ardouse journey together both learn to love and trust each other wholeheartedly while facing their fears, childhood traumas, ambitions, identity, goals and status differences head on. Due to their past pain both had to put extra effort into being more transparent with each other and use effective communication to fix many misunderstandings and uncover hidden truths between them.

This couple gives us everything whether there is extreme tension of them being nemesis warriors, or intellectuals who solve cases together for the good of people or fight villians trusting relying on each other putting their lives on the line, or make us ride the turbulent waves of push and pull between them, or whether one is decisively pushing other away and other is possessively chasing. The development of love between them is very brilliantly executed, viewers can feel from their actions and emotions displayed that how their fake love turned into genuine deep love over the course of time. They are so brilliantly campatible with each that it feels they were made for each other. 💕

💫The love and hate story between YX and Princess is extremely entertaining and captivating as well. I am very impressed by Princess's strength, wisdom and fighting spirit to protect her kingdom's people in the face of male dominating realms. Seeing MY always being confident, brave, resourceful and courageous and also seeing that being female she can fight really well, I love that the princess gets inspired and opens up paths for women to be allowed to be warriors. One of the main themes of the novel was women winning their rights and respectable places amongst the powerful male led six realms, I'm glad that the drama retained this theme. Other characters that have my heart are MY's and JBZ's companion beasts. Like their masters they are extremely cute, kind, smart, caring and fun. It really hurts to see them hurt. They love their masters dearly and always ready to give their lives to protect them or carry out any order from them. The interactions between the pets and their friendship is very endearing and precious as well.

💫The CGI, FX and cenimatrography of this drama is fire🔥!
The attention to detail, photorealism, seamless integrations, lighting and texturing makes the six realms of story enchanting and magical. The CGI in this drama not only gave us compelling visual experience in the action scenes but it effectively communicated the stories and emotions of the characters too. It successfully engages the viewers and leaving an everlasting impression. The gorgeous costumes, stunning hairstyles and mesmerising make up for the casts is breathtaking making the drama very enticing and inviting visual feast. But it's not just the visuals that stand out, all the OSTs especially the opening OST 'love in the clouds', 'If your World had no sunshine' and 'pretending it's nothing' are extremely beautiful. They have emotional resonance, clear production, and originality. All OSTs give emotional and atmosphereic depth to the scenes and events. They complement the on-screen action and match the tone of the production. Everytime they are played I was captivated, immersed and impacted pleasently by the beautiful melodies, rhythms and very moving and meaningful lyrics.

I absolutely fell in love with this enchanting and stunning couple, I don't think I will ever be able to move on from this drop-dead gorgeous, very dramatic, unashamedly flirtious and unapologetically very intimate couple. Together they have created top most heart warming, touching, emotional, magical, romantic and unforgettable Xuanhuan ever for me.

💫Ending:

I absolutely loved the most satisfying ending ever. Its really frustrating when either ml or fl have to sacrifice themselves to save the people/world from vilians, I really loved the fact that both main leads learned to face such choices together by coming up with ulternatives that would help both of them survive and solve the ultimate desparate and imminent dilemma they face. The ending was very sweet happily ever after with all the beloved characters safe and sound and no unnecessary slaughter of supporting characters, so mostly villains died. ZT and princess Tianji got their most dreamy ending too. I'm extremely impressed by bestest end for our perfect and majestic main couple that they absolutely deserve!!! 😍 ✨️ 💖ദ്ദി(。•̀ ,<)~✩‧₊

💫I really need them in a new modern drama. I just can't get enough of them. Everyday I waited with excitement for next episode and I hoped that this drama would never ever end and I was not ready to say good bye to such eathereal, talented and dreamy cast. I have thoroughly enjoyed every second of this drama and I very highly recommend it to anyone who loves romance, fantasy, suspense, and wuxia. It's 10/10 for me in every aspect. (ノ´ヮ´)ノ*:・゚✧

full of emotions

First review of my life. If you love romance that doesn't feel cringe then go for it. I don't have words to explain how much I enjoyed it.
Totally my type of story. It has perfect level of romance. You can feel emotions and plot twist is on another level.I love their Costumes. I don't think I can find this type of story again. Actors did amazing job. I fell in love with male lead expression. My last few episodes left. I hope for the best.

full of romantic situations ✨

this is one of the most romantic dramas with huge romantic tension and many romantic/sexy scenes!

it seems perfectly cast, and strong fast paced start getting the leads together to create the dynamic we are all looking forward to see developing!

these actors arent among the best at their craft but when perfectly cast that becomes undetectable and i think this is such a case. the female lead ive not seen in a lead performance before so im pleased she’s balancing the aspects of her character so well. shes a good actress overall having seen her before in Blossom In Adversity.

Now thats its over i can say its a great series, but with some minor flaws. its still fave of 2025!

20 Episodes of Lying, w/Secrets; A Good Villain Replaced by An Obsessed Creep & Some Comedy & Love.

Wanted to watch this drama for the pairing of the leads and was only familiar with a few other actors. Now while the actors did a good job I can't say the same for the script and the editing. Sadly for me, this just didn't hit the mark. Came very close to being the 3rd dumpster fire I’ve seen this year but those last 4 episodes were the strongest and overall, it had some appeal; though I did skip episodes and whatnot. I will speak my mind and not apologize for it.

Pros: Very small amount of pros; just about all of the actors did a great job. The leads could have taken a page out of the second leads' playbook. Those two had a misunderstanding for decades and solved it in 2.5 episodes and were stronger than ever afterwards; I really liked that. The chemistry between both couples as well as the friendship between cat and dragon was fun. The real antagonist that was killed off way too soon and could have done way better if left at the end, the actor played him well. He is very versatile in both types of roles. When he played Situ Ling, that was the best role for him, otherwise he went into the cons. Many other characters were great both in lead roles and support.

Comedy, OSTs, CGI, sets, and costumes were nicely done. That's where pros come to an end for me.

Cons: One of my biggest problems was the fact that when the FL approached the ML with her ulterior motives, though understandable at first, when it was more or less clear to her that he was not the culprit she still continued to lie to him and the fact that this first arc of lying took up nearly 20 episodes really hurt the series. There was so much noble idiocy, it hurt your head and it was unnecessary because all they really needed was proper communication as mentioned in the pros take a page out of the second leads playbook just talk about it, tell the truth, be honest that's all that was needed. Instead it was just this ring around the Rosie-hamster wheel with very poor editing and one of those one step forward two steps back type of things. My biggest problem with the series was the actual screenwriting and editing. Things weren't flawless; arcs lurched, and things happened and you didn't understand why they were happening or how certain things got to where they went. There was no smooth editing of the rough edges of certain arcs or why certain characters chose to do certain things. So a lot of times that left you scratching your head as to the why and the how. Many claim this series had no problems but that's not true and from a novelist's/screenwriter's perspective, I can see the large flaws.

One of the things that they absolutely did not need is the third wheel, obsessed creep that they left for a final villain. Absolutely nothing about him was evil, and when he opened his red eyes after being consumed by the nether beasts in the red ring he looked like Aro out of Twilight, and it made you start laughing. He was supposed to convey the type of antagonist that you hated, and yet all he did was look arrogant, angry, and obsessed to the point where you thought his head would explode. When he didn't understand why the fox that was his friend loved him and she asked him questions that was somehow totally fine. But when he asked the exact same questions of the FL he was pissed off when he didn't get the answers. Ironic much? That kind of blind obsession is very unnecessary, especially when you are dealing with an ending that needs to be a powerful one. It was powerful, but it had nothing to do with him. They should've let him be that young kid that looked up to the FL like she was his big sister. That was the absolutely perfect role for him I feel that they completely miscast him here (actor has only ever done protagonist roles and is still very wet behind the ears. So to throw him into a massive antagonist role did him great injustice) and instead should've left the other antagonist that they killed off halfway or so through to be what he needed to be toward the end or any of this guy's brothers because they had that ability to be villains.

Would I recommend it? Though it's got a very high score here on MDL and a lot of people are praising it, personally I would not recommend it. If you like the actors awesome but the script and the editing just do not hold up.

My loyal soul shall live and die with you.

What a masterpiece. I love everything about this. Like, EVERYTHING! (Except Situ Ling — I hate you so much, I hope you go bald.)

The storyline was neatly written, and the purpose behind every action and curse made perfect sense. I love the execution of the fight scenes, and of course, not to mention the HOT kissing scenes ( ๑‾̀◡‾́)✨

I also love that both the ML and FL are strong. It’s rare to see a storyline where they do things together and not individually, as that reflects their love for each other even more. No sacrifices — just the two of them saving the world together. Ugh, that’s so powerful huhu (˚ ˃̣̣̥⌓˂̣̣̥ )づ♡

I highly recommend this drama and have been wishing for more episodes (with more of the lovey-dovey moments from my parents, MingZai), but I guess that would only drag the story. Still, I’m satisfied with the number of episodes.

Praying for another main role project for Lu Yu Xiao and Hou Ming Hao! Also, their OSTs are so good — too bad they didn’t have a duet.

MINGZAI, I LOVE YOU FOREVER!!! ♡〜٩( ˃▿˂ )۶〜♡

Iconic couple pairing and an enjoyable story!

As someone who hasn't been enjoying the Xianxia and Xuanhuan dramas that released recently, I really liked "Love in the Clouds" as it was a rather light-hearted watch with a beautiful cinematography! 💕

The storyline isn't anything unique or new either, but what I especially like is the subtle comedy and most important of all, Hou Minghao and Lu Yuxiao's chemistry (which felt non-existent in the second half though 😭)! They are perfect as the main cast of LITC and I really hope to see them together again in future shows.

I loved Lu Yuxiao as the second female lead in MJTY, so I was very excited to see her in this show. And she's doing well again! Just wish, we could've seen more of her scenes as a Warrior Godess.
I wouldn't say that some of the supporting cast's acting is the very best, but that doesn't disrupt the viewing experience, like it usually does for me.
One thing I'm upset about though is Situ Ling's transition to Chao Yuan and finally his downfall as I thought he could've tried to let go of the past and his obsessions.

Something I don't pay attention to in most dramas like I did with this one is that it subtly touched on some conflicts in the real world which I found well done.

Honorable mention: crazy CGI & visual fx, had to be said!! The styling is so gorgeous too 😍 (dare I say, Hou Minghao looks even better here than in "Fangs of Fortune")

Note: This is my first review, so idk what to write in it haha

I'm crazy about both main characters!

Love in the Clouds is a visually stunning romantic fantasy drama that captivates viewers with its charming atmosphere and strong chemistry between the main leads. Although the plot starts off a bit slow in the first few episodes, it gradually becomes more exciting and emotionally intense after episode four. The story begins to unfold beautifully, drawing the audience deeper into the characters’ relationships and the fantasy world they live in.

The CGI and overall visual effects are another highlight of this drama. The beautiful backgrounds, costume designs, and magical elements are all crafted with great detail, making every scene visually pleasing. The supporting cast also adds depth to the story with their strong performances and vibrant presence on screen. Overall, Love in the Clouds deserves more recognition than it currently gets. Despite its slow start, it develops into an enjoyable and touching series that’s definitely worth watching. Its low rating doesn’t do justice to its emotional storytelling and high production quality.

What if we had an enemies to lovers setting with perfect mixture of quirk, tension, fluff and angst. Ladies and gentlemen, this isn't a what if anymore, we do have one that has it all!

Ming Yi's seductively pitiful eyes and Ji Bozai's enchanting eyes screaming of arrogance are probably a combo you never expected to bewitch you into the next episode button.
Starting with their little games of schemes and deception against each other to being a couple whose perfect dates include 'wife bullying the villain and husband supporting in the back', ofc flavoured with pinch of angst, misunderstandings and 'I could give up my life for you' moments.
As if the main couple angst wasn't enough, we have also got some side couples holding the stage with potential storylines who are also up for the angsty journey garnished with perfect dosage of sugar and their 'you are my salvation' backstories.
(Special mention to actor Quan Yilun, hold your crown gege, someone get him more angst scripts, he has already slayed 2 angst roles in his recent works!)

One of the main attraction of the drama was how beautifully every female characters' courage was potrayed- 'dare to love, dare to hate, dare to rule, dare to fight and dare to sacrifice'. Each one of them were brave and decisive in their decisions and dared to fight for themselves. And those mini 'woman supporting another woman' moments really had me down for them.

Another plus point being the styling. How the styling of some characters really had my eyes following them everytime they appeared on screen. I guess I really have a thing for some of yi xiaoya's styling in certain dramas. Though most of the times they feel the same pattern in every xianxia drama, I cannot deny that she definitely serves visuals of the actors well.

A drama well done in terms of anticipation as well as expectations.

Things I learned from Love in tye Cloud drama

1. Strength isn’t just about winning, it’s about enduring.

Ming Yi starts as the strongest warrior in the realms, but when she’s poisoned and loses her powers, she learns that real strength isn’t measured by how many battles we win, it’s how we carry ourselves when everything we rely on is stripped away.

✧ In life: True power lies in resilience, not perfection.

2. People aren’t always what they seem.

Ji Bo Zai appears cold, mysterious, maybe even untrustworthy but beneath the surface, he’s fighting his own pain and trying to protect others.

✧ In life: Everyone has unseen struggles. Learning to look beyond appearances can open the door to real understanding and compassion.

3. Love grows in trust, not control.

Both Ming Yi and Ji Bo Zai have secrets. Their relationship only begins to heal when they start trusting and showing vulnerability instead of hiding behind pride.

✧ In life: Love isn’t about dominance or perfection, it’s about two imperfect people choosing honesty over ego.

4. Letting go is sometimes the purest form of love.

In their world of destiny and divine duty, the characters often have to choose between what they want and what’s right.

✧ In life: Real love often means allowing people to grow, even if that means walking separate paths for a while.

5. Healing begins with forgiveness including self-forgiveness.

Both leads carry guilt and past wounds. Their journey shows that forgiveness isn’t weakness; it’s the first step toward freedom.

✧ In life: We can’t move forward while clutching old pain. Forgiving ourselves for past mistakes is the start of peace.

Amazing and Highly satisfying ✨✨❤️❤️

Amazing and Highly satisfying.❤️❤️❤️❤️
A Unique story line, Highly talented ML & FL, Great portray of all the characters, Wow visuals, Nicely paced.
Leads chemistry is another level 🥰🦋
(FL is already my favourite actress 😘since MJTY and thanks to her only I discovered ML...my new fav actor😍)

A Highly satisfying Happy ending.✨✨
[Honestly I only love the good long happy endings and not the end min get together ones as they just don’t feel complete and always leave behind this feeling of something incomplete and broken inside.]
So the ending of this particular one is lots of cherries on top of your favourite cake🤩❤️ and everyone got their due ending.

No unnecessary characters or scenes.👌

The companion beasts- the dragon and the cat are so cute and that granny lady is fun to watch✨

The actors acted with not just lines but eyes and expression as well so well adding to the depth of each characters inner true emotions and clearly keeping there emotions bare for us audience to enjoy and understand the characters especially the ML and FL. 💕

Also It was one hell of an unpredictable drama☺️you would literally be watching it and be like oh now this will happen but no either a humorous joke will come up or just something unexpected will happen making the show much more engaging.✨

Guys please don’t keep yourself away from this drama just because some said that the FL should have revealed her identity to ML early on.
Honestly early reveal would have taken away the very essence of FL and also there love story. It plays a major role in ML falling in love with FL even more. SO YES THE WAIT IS 100% WORTH IT.✨✨ which also adds to the UNIQUENESS of LITC.🦋

Also it’s the audience who knows every thing but the characters don’t Cause LITC is indeed a masterpiece🧚🏻❤️

Best cdrama ever❤️✨
I am rewatching already🦋

Also the best part I watched it while it was airing so that gave me a lot more time to absorb the story and rethink all there actions while patiently waiting for the next day to watch the upcoming ep.
It was a wonderful journey indeed🥰🥰✨✨

The plot was wasted on the male lead . Actually, he should've been the villian.

This drama had everything, costumes, cgi, beautiful people, but the main couple just fell flat for me.

It was fine overall, but for some reason, I started getting bored of the main couple halfway through. It took me weeks to finish this one. The female lead started off so strong as her warrior identity, but then she spent most of the show weak and sick, which got tiring to watch (so many dramas use this same trope).

. And when the leads kept lying to each other and breaking up over and over, I was just like: girl, can we not? There was no reason for them to like each other..

NOW imagine how much better this drama would have been if 2nd male lead(Situ Ling) was the lead, and she found out he was the boy from the past secretly protecting her. Then they tried to find the cure together for her heavenly grief while getting rid of his evil father hand in hand. The plot was so boring with Ji Bozai. And if you think about it, Ji bozai had all the qualities to be the villain more than the 2nd male lead. Without spoiling the end, Ji bozai finds out a fact about his master that would've been a perfect reason for him to turn evil. He also grew up abandoned in the Abyss as a slave, so he had all this hatred that a villain would have.

The special effects and side characters were great. I really liked the princess reconciling with her childhood crush.

I didn't read the book but if it was similar to the show, then I don't think i would've liked the book. I just feel like Situ ling could have done way more for the story than Ji bozai did. To be honest i would never watch this again so I'm gonna leave it at a 6.
