Excellent
Well worth a watch. Acting was great by all parties. There were a few moments of frustration on my part because some things that were said made no sense, it could have been due to the translation into English.
I enjoyed the sound track. The cgi was awesome. Loved it.
I love a good romance.

The plot was wasted on the male lead . Actually, he should've been the villian.
This drama had everything, costumes, cgi, beautiful people, but the main couple just fell flat for me.It was fine overall, but for some reason, I started getting bored of the main couple halfway through. It took me weeks to finish this one. The female lead started off so strong as her warrior identity, but then she spent most of the show weak and sick, which got tiring to watch (so many dramas use this same trope).
. And when the leads kept lying to each other and breaking up over and over, I was just like: girl, can we not? There was no reason for them to like each other..
NOW imagine how much better this drama would have been if 2nd male lead(Situ Ling) was the lead, and she found out he was the boy from the past secretly protecting her. Then they tried to find the cure together for her heavenly grief while getting rid of his evil father hand in hand. The plot was so boring with Ji Bozai. And if you think about it, Ji bozai had all the qualities to be the villain more than the 2nd male lead. Without spoiling the end, Ji bozai finds out a fact about his master that would've been a perfect reason for him to turn evil. He also grew up abandoned in the Abyss as a slave, so he had all this hatred that a villain would have.
The special effects and side characters were great. I really liked the princess reconciling with her childhood crush.
I didn't read the book but if it was similar to the show, then I don't think i would've liked the book. I just feel like Situ ling could have done way more for the story than Ji bozai did. To be honest i would never watch this again so I'm gonna leave it at a 6.

Even if this life is like a shooting star, brief only for the sake of meeting you
Some dramas are watched, and some are felt — Love in the Clouds belongs to the latter. It was one of my most anticipated releases, and after living through its story, I understand why the heavens themselves seemed to whisper about it.At its heart, it’s the tale of two souls — Ji Bozai (HMH) and Ming Yi (LYX) — sworn enemies fated to become each other’s sanctuary. Their relationship is a dance between daggers and devotion, between schemes and sincerity. They tease, they pretend, they play their clever games — yet behind every smirk lies a trembling heart.
Both HMH and LYX breathe life into their roles with the precision of poets. From their first encounter, sparks fly not just from tension, but from understanding. They are cunning yet soft, playful yet aching, two mirrors reflecting both deceit and desire. Slowly, layer by layer, they peel away the masks they’ve worn for the world, until all that’s left is the truth — fragile, bleeding, and beautiful.
Ming Yi, the girl whose lies became her armor, hides behind shadows spun since birth. Ji Bozai, the man scarred by life’s cruelty, carries wounds carved deep into his soul — abandoned by his parents as an infant, forced to survive through hardship, bullied, and betrayed by those he once trusted. He learned to keep his heart guarded, to stay alert, to trust no one easily. And yet, for Ming Yi, he lets his defenses fall. For her, he chooses faith over fear. For her, there is always forgiveness.
Their love story isn’t told in grand gestures but in quiet sacrifices — the kind that speak louder than a thousand words. And when trust shatters — when Ming Yi betrays the very man who laid his soul bare — the pain cuts deep. But love, as Love in the Clouds reminds us, is not without forgiveness. Bozai’s love is the calm after the storm, the kind that endures, that waits, that believes. By the end, they learn not only to trust each other but to heal the wounds they once hid from the world. They shine when apart, but together, they become something celestial — two stars caught in the same orbit.
Situ Ling, on the other hand, is the storm that refuses to quiet. His obsession is a wildfire — consuming, selfish, and cold. You cannot force the sun to rise just because you wish it, and his love is exactly that — a demand, not a devotion. The contrast between him and Bozai is as clear as night and day: one loves to possess, the other loves to protect.
Every thread of this drama — from the breathtaking cinematography to the ethereal costumes — feels woven with care. The CGI glimmers like moonlight, and the OST (especially Ming Hao’s hauntingly beautiful song) lingers like a heartbeat long after the final episode fades to black.
Love in the Clouds is not just a romance — it’s a story about redemption, about finding home in the person you once called your enemy. It’s laughter in the rain, heartbreak under starlight, and forgiveness wrapped in the language of love.
⭐ Rating: 9.5/10 — A love story written in thunder and sealed by the clouds.

I JUST FUCKING LOVE THIS DRAMA!!! IN THIS "MINGZAI" HILL FOR EVER!!!
I have been trying to write a perfect review, that will actually do the series some justice, but words are failing me. Everything about this drama was so perfect and satisfying. There's not a single loophole. Like you understand, why is this happening and why this certain scene is needed here for the story. From episode 1 to episode 36, story progression was so good. (I am petitioning for 40 episodes!!! Why every good drama have less episode i don't understand!!)And gosh the casting. Casting director needs some special appreciation. Hou Ming Hao as Ji Bo Zai and Lu Yu Xiao as Ming Yi was PERFECT!!! I can't even imagine anyone else other than them in those characters. Their chemistry was everything!!! Even their eye-contact have a side fandom (and that's me)!!! And Er Shi Qi & Bu Xiu!!! I loveee their bond with Ming Yi & Ji Bo Zai and the bond that they have with each other too!!! Yan Xiao and Tian Ji's love story was a cherry on the top!!! This drama portrayed so many bonds. Love, hate, friendship, allies....every part was amazing to witness!!!
Don't even ask me about the soundtracks!!! Every one of the songs deserve recognition. Specially the ones that the main leads sang. "Pretending its nothing" by Lu Yu Xiao and "If your world had no sunshine" by Hou Ming Hao...I have been listening to these two songs everyday!!!
I am 10000000% sure I will rewatch this drama more than 3 times!!! I am never moving on from here!!! Everyone please give it a watch...You will not regret it!!! I hope we can see this two together in another project (they will nailed a modern drama)!!!

Love In The Clouds has taken the number one spot for me and I'm not even kidding.
I’ve just finished the last episode and I’m still emotionally shaken, but I need to talk about this masterpiece while the feelings are fresh.I can confidently say that this is the first time in ages I’ve felt compelled to write a review after finishing a drama — and the first time in a long while that I’ve given one a perfect score without hesitation. I binge-watched Love in the Clouds in about 3–4 days, completely hooked from the first episode to the last.
Before this, my favorite 2025 drama was Prisoner of Beauty, but even that didn’t quite make a perfect 10 for me because the ending felt rushed. With LITC, I had that fear too… and yet, it delivered in every aspect.
The pacing is one of its greatest strengths: consistent, engaging, and always moving the story forward without filler. The characters are well built, their individual arcs make sense, and — my favorite part — the relationships are incredibly well developed.
Our main couple’s chemistry is out of this world from day one. Their personalities complement each other beautifully, and their dynamic is the perfect mix of romantic tension and emotional depth. Ji Bozai… listen, I am a happily married woman, but you made me dream. Sir, control yourself!
Hou Minghao’s ability to convey emotions through those stunning eyes made me smile, swoon, and cry more times than I can count.
The story blends enemies-to-lovers with an intense cat-and-dog rivalry that slowly blossoms into devotion — the exact kind of trope I adore. If you’re a hopeless romantic who loves watching a couple love each other so fiercely that they would sacrifice everything, even their lives, for one another… this drama will steal your heart too.
And the OST? Perfection. I’ve already added five (yes, five!) songs to my Chinese playlist.
Love in the Clouds is a show I will rewatch someday, and one I’ll hold in my heart forever.

BEST XIANXIA DRAMA I'VE WATCHED
I absolutely love the chemistry between Hou Ming Hao and Lu Yu Xiao, this drama truly brought out the best in both of them. They embodied their characters so naturally that it felt real and captivating from start to finish. The director and production team did an amazing job making every episode interesting and worth watching. The CGI blended seamlessly with the story, and the OST perfectly complemented the emotional tone of each scene. The outfits and cinematography were also visually stunning, everything felt thoughtfully crafted.
Every character had their moment to shine, but the main characters’ incredible skills and chemistry really stood out. Overall, Love in the Clouds is easily one of the best dramas I’ve ever watched.

I made an account just to review the drama. Usually I'm just a casual reader. Now i have to write some review. My FIRST XIANXIA genre, and i don't regret it. Everything about this drama is perfect. Thank you to make this October so colorful. Deff I'm gonna rewatch it again. Was this review helpful to you?
I've never seen the TL united in watching a drama like this since 2025 began
I was gaslighted into watching this drama. Everyone and their mamas on the TL were watching this, I was gaslighted into seeing spoilers by force, gaslighted into buying XP and gaslighted into reading threads explaining every frame of "important scenes". And I suffered joyfully. So it's a 10.
❤️🔥 10 to the crew, who put in their best and delivered as they should (minus the female director allegedly taking the credit:
🚩 Read threads about her on X).
❤️🔥 10 to the fangirls and boys on the TL who wouldn't have done a better job at promoting it like they did even if they were paid.
❤️🔥 10 to Situ Ling who was cancelled in 8 different languages on the TL, the mark of a great actor is when the lines blur between their person and the character they're playing, that's when you know you've hit it.
❤️🔥 10 to the Douyin and Weibo guards who uploaded on the socials seconds after clips dropped, translated the promotional events and kept us up to date with offline and online schedules and gaming events.
And a final 10 to me, throughout the constant spoiling and gaslighting and canceling on the TL, I still found joy in watching this. Gang watching a show sure is fun 😭
See y'all in the next one, preferably in 2026 peesh, I can't do this again anytime soon, so 2026 it is, deal? 🤝

Fantastic
The leads in this story do a phenomenal job acting through facial expressions. You can feel all of their emotions without a word. ML’s love is so clear on his face it makes me swoon. I am a Chinese romance junkie. This series is grade A entertainment and provides all the feels without too much torture, while maintaining depth and just enough angst. Was this review helpful to you?

Chemistry romance love ❤️
Gosh I cannot move on from this drama so here comes a reviewFor me the top things about this drama were: the leads had amazing chemistry, the OST really hit hard during the emotional moments, I loved how intensely the actors portrayed the emotions of being willing to give everything for their person, really excellent supporting cast and secondary couple plotlines
I did not go in expecting to enjoy this drama so much! This has gone straight to one of my top c-dramas and Lu Yuxiao is now one of my top favourite Chinese actresses to watch too. The ml/fl both had excellent chemistry and really made their characters believable, the world building and storyline was fun (I liked the whole tournament idea, it flowed well into the overall plot as well as characterizing the main leads), and I was really rooting for the characters. All the fight scenes were beautiful too, big fan of the aesthetics (the sparkly starlight night sky/water scenes were always so pretty) and all the wedding costumes and marriage scenes were so beautifully. The couple’s main song that the ML sang I loved too, still have on repeat. Cannot move on from the couple, the drama, the world it built! I also really enjoyed the princess' love line with the physician - I thought the actors there were excellent in their roles as well, and I like how they left things off and enjoyed the princess' arc generally - lots of capable female characters!

Did this series have to be this good?
I just want to make it brief; I don't need to write a long story. The point is, the series has good characters and truly bad characters and at this point the villian always be villian and the hero always be the hero. . The writer and director did a fantastic job. The cast was top-notch. Even the musical tone perfectly matches the drama's situations. It's one of the best historical productions in Chinese history actually not only historical but also one of the best productions in all genres in the Chinese drama. I highly recommend watching it, and I think it would be a huge loss in your life if you didn't. Thank you. (Please don't think this is a simple opinion. This isn't the first time I've watched a C-drama, and certainly not the first historicalC-drama. I'm just writing my own simple thoughts instead of a long, professional review. Thank you.)
