I would give my soul to experience this all over again
I've never watched a drama whilst ig was still airing but I couldn't stop myself for LITC and I DO NOT REGRET IT ONE BIT 🙏Honestly speaking I was glued to my seat from start to finish, the chemistry between HMH and LYX was so captivating in every scene, and everytime I would be on the edge of my seat waiting for the next time we saw a scene with just the two of them. As someone who's watching past works from both leads, LITC was a whole other level!!! I've never felt so attached to my drama lead characters in my life, feeling their pain and love so deeply 😭 but LITC made me feel like I myself was falling in love just from watching the leads dance around each other and evolve alongside one another. Simply put, the romance in this show was different from other types of romances I've seen in dramas, while theirs did start from a fake dating setting, it grew past anything I had expected, and by the end of the show, I felt like a proud parent who had watched their child achieve the impossible. Also, I'm always a sucker for an every matched power couple, and that's exactly what Mingzai are 🥰, they don't just match each other in raw strength, but character, and I love them so much for how far they've come by the end of the show.
Not to mention, the settings of the scenes were all so GORGEOUS, I'd give my life savings for a tour around the entire of the 6 realms if it existed XD.
Costume department also absolutely knocked it out of the ballpark, every outfit was so beautiful, and Ji Bozai, especially, in his dark, elaborate clothes...🤭 The contrast between Ming Yi and Ji Bozai in their outfits was straight up ethereal to me, and they never cease to take away mg breath when they debut in a brand new outfit! The costume department were honestly like fairy godmothers in this, I am not even joking 😭 I have no idea what they're on, but I need it.
Lastly, the cast beyond our leads were also absolutely delightful and might I say, fine eye candy themselves 😉, by the end of the show, I'd grown to appreciate and love the dynamics between the cast. Every person has their part to play and they don't just stay stagnant, but develop alongside the cast, and the actors just really did a great job fleshing out their characters and endearing themselves to me, each in their own, special, unique way ❤️
TLDR; This whole experience (of watching) was simply breathtaking and I hope everyone gets to enjoy this as much as I did. This show will definitely be staying among my top 2 for the rest of my life, I don't doubt it. To anyone reading this, please give it a try or a chance if you've dropped it!!

Not your typical fantacy series
I usually am not a fan of fantacy series because of too many visual effects and unrealistic background sets, but this one was different. The visual effects were kept to a minimum required, and there was not too much of water and fire flying in the air and unrealistic colors and things like that :))the story was interesting and the acting was very good too. The ending was satisfying for those who like triumph of good against evil type of stories.

NOT CLICHE BUT!
finally i finished litc and this drama ABSOLUTELY one of the best drama in this year (so many good dramas airing this Q3 im gonna cry), the acting the chemistry on top, i wont comment about that. But i'll comment the production, huft ik that there are some troubles about the production like from changing the director at the time of filming (cmiiw?) then it affects on the story and what i found some edits not clear enough. From the start the story is solid, but then at the end of the episodes there are some clues that suddenly it comes? (i guess that's the effects of episodes that shorten from 40 to 36). SOOO this drama would be more more perfect if its not rushed, it's fine to take a time for a while and airing next year (i'll wait). And yeah, i read the novel and it's kinda feel diffirent about the world building some fights that don't come up in the drama. But for me, THAT'S OKAY cause w this drama we come to the new plots of xianxia dramaWas this review helpful to you?
Attention grabbing drama
I don’t normally go for fantasy wuxia dramas, but this one grabbed my attention and didn’t let me go. (From start to finish binged in 3 days.)A lot of cute moments between the main leads especially in the beginning which was refreshing. So much to giggle about. The chemistry between the main leads was really good. And the acting felt real. Didn’t take me out of the drama.
The visuals were amazing. The special effects looked very good compared to other similar storyline dramas. Not to mention the costumes. Those were really pleasing to look at with the makeup and hairstyles.
The storyline was strong. A lot to enjoy, but unfortunately i thought the last episode was lacklustre compared to the beginning of the drama.
In conclusion, a very good drama to watch. Plenty of comedic moments. A lot of romance. With some tearful moments. Would recommend.

I Tried One Episode for Fun and ended Up FINISHING THE WHOLE THING!?
I usually don't watch historic chinese dramas just cause the effects are sometimes so fake or there is too much history, BUT let me just say. OMG. This drama was worth every second of my time!? I saw an edit on tiktok and then decided to give it a chance, and watched one episode. Soon I was on the next episode, and so on, and then I finished it in 2 days!? It's so good!! I loved the acting, and the instrumental music. Truly a master piece. I suggest you all give it a chance, you deef won't regret it! The main leads had such good chemistry, and their eyes acted so well too. I love when an actors eyes says everything you need in scenes, and that's what this drama was like! LOVEEEEE!Was this review helpful to you?

OH MAN... this one's gonna be hard to forget
Love in the Clouds has been an absolutely mesmerizing drama that you just cant't take your eyes off of for one second. Did I also mention gut-wrenching and soul-crushing? Yea, they twist the knife a few times, and it really tugs at your heart strings whenever they do. Its honestly been a long while since I've watched a drama with all the elements I'm looking for—enemies to lovers, powerful female lead, one-sided flirting, through the roof tension, enticing storylines, and honestly these all sound common but what's rare is how LITC perfectly executes them. The story begins with Ming Xian, crown prince of Yaoguang Mountain, strongest warrior in all the 6 realms, beloved saviour of her people—oh, and also, not a man by the way. Since birth, her mother has hidden Ming Xian's true identity as a woman to maintain her own position as Empress, cruelly keeping her at a cold distance with no expectations but for her to train and perfect herself as the crown prince. Every year, a tournament is held to determine which realm gets to receive the "blessed rain", which provides wealth and prosperity to the realm that receives it. After dominating the last 7 years in a row, it is now the 8th year she has participated, and also documents the last few moments before she loses everything she once held dear. Fighting against a mysterious new opponent, Ji Bozai, she's poisoned with the Heavenly Grief, damaging her spiritual veins rendering her powers useless. For the first time ever, shes lost. The Empress, seeing her without her powers, tells her to leave the realm at once with her position at risk, and to undo the gender spell while looking for the cure. Left with nowhere to go, Ming Xian swears revenge on Ji Bozai, and coincidentally, he is the only one with the cure, the Golden Millet Dream. Eventually travelling to his realm, Jixing Abyss, and selling herself to a brothel, she renames herself Ming Yi and begins her countless attempts to get close to Ji Bozai. Opportunities arise, and Ming Xian successfully places herself within his residence as his (pretend) woman, proving useful to him in order to avoid his enemies. Life has never been more complicated for Ming Xian, especially when EVERYONE wants the golden millet dream, and the owner of it seems to have a really hard time trusting people. Ohhh riight, and no one knows where it is or if he really has it. Ji Bozai has not lived an easy life, growing up an orphan in a prison with no one to rely on but himself, enduring hunger, pain, abuse, and betrayals. Appearing out of nowhere followed by a sudden rise of fame, it all seems to be pre-planned, and man is he a cunning schemer. He is NOT going to be trusting anyone anytime soon while on a revenge quest of his own. Attempting to win his actual heart and trust, Ming Yi will do whatever it takes—at the cost of her shedding an enormous amount of fake tears, sacrificing herself multiple times, and meddling with his problems a lot more than he wants her to. Ming Xian becomes closer to Ji Bozai than ever, but when feelings of guilt, hidden identities, and affection arises, who's lying to who, and who's falling for who?
Plotwise, I think they have a nice story set up, I don't agree with the people saying there's no plot/direction. They've got the revenge down, the multiple villains, the different plot twists, nothing that screams no plot to me. However, majority of the time you're really just rooting for the leads to be happy, share genuine moments where they're not pretending, and to finally get together.
Starring ms Lu Yuxiao and mr Hou Minghao. I would also just like to say, Ming Yi's styling in the first 2/3 of this drama is just chef's kiss. Her hair, her outfits, her makeup, it's all so ethereal. If there's one thing to take away from this drama, it's that Lu Yuxiao SERVED FACE. Hou Minghao and lowkey the entire supporting cast also served face (like seriously, they cast a lot of attractive people, like Yu Chengen) but Xiaoxiao, GODDAMN SHE SERVED FACE ON A WHOLE OTHER LEVEL. Also fell in love with her character here where she plays the mischievous, flirty, damsel in distress SO WELL. She really stole the show with this one, and I can't wait to see more of her future projects. Hou Minghao was also amazing, first time I'm watching him btw (always wanted to watch Back to the Brink but never got to it!), I'm guessing he's quite familiar with the cold male lead roles, but watching his character fall for Ming Yi is adorable with his softened eyes, his subtle change in expressions, mixed with a side of jealousy. Really good OSTs sang by these two by the way. These two are the cutest pair in the drama, and real life, and I REALLY REALLY REALLY hope they get another drama together in the future. Like seriously, just put them in a second drama and they'll fall in love. Trust. Really appreciate how much the drama is able to focus on these two main characters and their development without showing too much of the side characters, while also keeping a compelling plot and mysteries you want to uncover as well. Final note, the kiss scenes go crazy in this.
I don't know what else to say, but if you want to watch a romance with a LOT of tension along with the necessary push and pulls, just watch this.

I Entered with Zero Expectations and Left Enchanted — A Love Story Etched in Stardust
💫 First ImpressionsOof! Just finished this, and I haven’t felt such a strong urge to rewatch something immediately in ages! I’m simply thankful that Lu Yuxiao and Hou Minghao accepted this project because their visuals and chemistry are chef’s kiss! 👏
I entered this realm with zero expectations but came out completely enchanted. I’m now emotionally attached to the MingZai couple—it’s honestly going to be hard to move on! 🥺
🌟 What I Loved (Pluses)
(+) The visuals are insane.
Neither overshadows the other—both LYX and HMH totally slay their looks. From the intricate hairstyles and soft yet alluring makeup to the beautifully designed costumes, everything screams perfection. I also appreciate how newer Xianxia dramas have evolved: gone are the stiff wigs and plastic accessories. This is elegance done right. ✨
(+) The chemistry is top-tier.
From their very first interaction, their connection feels natural and magnetic. The love scenes are hot, romantic, and beautifully shot. It even gives short-drama vibes with how intense and passionate their kisses are! 🔥
(+) The color grading, set design, and CGI are breathtaking.
Every frame feels painterly, every landscape a work of art. The use of light, color, and movement makes the entire show a visual feast. I found myself pausing just to admire the details! 🎨
(+) The story handles misunderstandings maturely.
Miscommunication is kept minimal (thank heavens 🙏). When conflicts do arise, the characters handle them logically—especially Ji Bozai. Both leads are mature, emotionally intelligent, and genuinely care for each other. Their willingness to sacrifice themselves for love is heartbreaking yet beautiful.
(+) Both characters are equally powerful.
This is rare in romance-centered fantasy dramas! I love how both MY and JBZ stand on equal ground—strength-wise and emotionally. They complement rather than overshadow each other. 💪
(+) No unnecessary deaths.
None of the characters actually die—except those who truly deserve it. And thank goodness they didn’t kill off the companion beast! 🐉 A small but meaningful win in the Xianxia world where tragedy is often overused.
(+) Every side character matters.
Even though I wasn’t too invested in Tianji and Yan Xiao, I love that each side couple gets closure. Every character, good or bad, plays a meaningful role in the narrative. No one feels wasted or purposeless—a rare feat! 🌱
⚡ What Could Be Better (Minuses)
(-) The directing of fight scenes feels weak.
While the love scenes are beautifully executed, the fight sequences often fall flat. Some are too short, too stiff, or end abruptly—leaving me thinking, “Wait, that’s it?” The choreography deserved more fluidity and intensity.
(-) The music in the final episode is... rough.
The soundtrack overlaps awkwardly, killing the emotional tone of several scenes. The moment when JBZ talks to Bo Yulan’s portrait should’ve been moving, but instead it feels jarringly comedic due to mismatched background music. 🎵
(-) Ming Yi’s power deserved more spotlight.
She has amazing moments—especially in emergencies—but I wish the finale showcased her full potential. The first episode doesn’t count since she was weakened by Heavenly Grief. Toward the end, she becomes slightly sidelined, which underplays her incredible strength and character.
💭 Final Thoughts
Overall, this drama is a visual masterpiece with incredible chemistry and high rewatch value. You just can’t get enough of JBZ and MY together. 💕
If you’re looking for a Xianxia drama with strong romance, emotional depth, and stunning visuals, this is the one. It’s going straight to my favorites list.
🌌 Fairy Ming Yi is just sooooo beautiful—it’s such a shame we don’t get to see that divine styling again until the very end.

Ji Bo Zai made my top 5 cdrama favourite characters!
ML portrayed Ji Bo Zai so well. He’s a dream! He’s flirty and cute, yet complex at the same time, shaped by his difficult childhood. You can see from his eyes that he’s hopelessly in love with her, which makes him such a conflicting, struggling and layered character that audience can relate to. Ji Bo Zai just made my top 5 Cdrama characters of all time. It was my first time watching this male actor (thank you, Neo, for giving us such a performance!!).The FL nailed her character and the side stories of the supporting characters (27, Buxiu, Yan xiao, tian jin etc) were endearing as well.
Storyline: Good. But if I were to nitpick, why do they always have to add a second male lead who’s delusionally in love with the female lead? Why does he have to turn bad? He was perfectly fine the way he was at the start.
Standing ovation: The couple’s chemistry is exceptional. The CGI is good, the styling is on point, and all the OSTs are perfect.
PS Ji Bo Zai's 'liar.......'and 'say my name....' im dead......
