"If only there was a Spell in this World that could make the Rain Last Forever"
Ming Yi´s words to Ji Bo Zai are constantly ringing in my ears even after finished this masterpiece that has become Love in The Clouds. I am not much of a Full length c-drama watcher. But Shorts on youtube and the amazing reviews here on MDL made me want to give Love in The Clouds a shot. Honestly, i felt in my heart i would come to enjoy this drama, even love it. Love it i did.Everything about this story is top-notch. The romance is crafted in a epic way. Same with the directing, the settings, costumes...the plot. It felt like i stepped into a Enthralling Dream that i never wanted to wake up from. They had me on Edge the whole journey. They made me laugh and cry.I was deeply invested and binge watched this in four days. Damn, i am having a fever now.
I don`t know how to really move on now, these kind of fevers are the worst because of how bittersweet it is. My heart is heavy with happiness and sadness that the journey of Ming Yi & Ji Bo Zai has come to an end. Their love-story is so entertaining in its deceptive and light-hearted view with two mainleads that really initially distrust each other. But there is this magic between them, call it on-screen chemistry between Hou Ming & Lu Yu, i mean these two are incredible in their performances and it is indeed my first time watching them on-screen.I fell completely in love. The rawness, complexity, beauty and grace these two had and their view of life and the world. The way they viewed each other. So much admiration, respect and awe. Fated soulmates, without both of them knowing.
I will miss the scenes where Ji Bo Zai tease her, where she charms him, when they eat pancakes, when they are with their Beast Pets, training at the Shousha Academy, when they are connecting, when they are bonding, when they embrace each other, when they fight side by side...when they so lovingly and ardently protect each other. Love in The Clouds is a enchantment itself, a dream i indeed did not want to wake up from. Dear to my heart now.

more disappointing than the princess gambit
Hou Ming Hao is devastatingly handsome and gorgeous and a fantastic actor, but this drama has more scenes with the support characters than it does with our main leads. This is a problem because I am here mainly to see him act.Concerning the sets and scenes: it just feels like there are not very many and that they are really small. There doesn't seem to be a lot of money put into this aspect which is extremely necessary to make the world seem real and very big. They are relying too much on CGI.
The storyboarding causes scenes to feel harshly cut together and really makes the story as it is unfolding feel cut and paste, cut and paste.
Ming Yi solo scenes just feel so disconnected. Her dishonesty is obviously a plot point for climatic moments with the ML, but it just never stops. Then we aren't getting real connections, this is actually how toxic relationships begin.
I see people describe her as playful and silly and witty but actually her behavior is annoying and fake. It's cute once or twice. They could have toned it down a little so that we could see some real interactions and conversations between her and the ML. All the 'cute' moments that the show wants us to believe have endeared the FL to the ML are surface level and fake. Thus, as a viewer I don't like our FL very much and her behavior gives me the ick. And then the story wants us to see her as being righteous because her lying is meant to be a kindness to ML??? No. Just no. I don't want to dislike the FL in a drama. So, FL lead not very well written. The acting actually isn't that great either. I didn't believe any of the emotional moments.
Within the first 21 episodes our main leads hardly spend much time together. I am here to watch them and see their relationship develop. But that's not what we are getting. So it just makes all the affection and connection that is expressed when they are together so unnatural. All the encounters and play has felt so fake.
I am more disappointed than when I watched the princess gambit. Sorry to cast and crew to have to say this. I do appreciate so much all your hard work. I will finish this drama. I hope it resolves some of these issues btu I doubt it. Ugh, this is just the worst ML FL relationship I have ever seen. On episode 28 and would rather be stabbed than finish this...but I've come this far.
I finished it. Thank goodness it's over. The only saving grace about this drama, the only thing I really liked is that they didn't write this so that the FL saves the ML in the end. Which is just so overdone. The two actually worked together when they had to fight the hardest and it wasn't just one person saving the other. I would have rated this drama lower if they hadn't done this.

Love in the Clouds—and your heart says yes.
The story moves with confidence, tension tightens at the right moments, and a handful of neat twists keep the air lively. The action pops—well-timed, nimble, and boosted by beautiful CGI that that isn't overdone. Furthermore, the romance lands softly. Light, humorous, thoughtful dialogue carries the love scenes, and the OST folds around them like a warm echo, pulling genuine feeling to the surface.Set against a shimmering fantasy world, the relationship between Ji Bo Zai and Ming Yi begins in deception and matures into truth. It’s simple and fun, yet honest enough to linger—helped greatly by Lu Yu Xiao, whose turn as an irresistibly youthful heroine makes falling for this couple feel effortless.
It all crescendos toward a finale that satisfies without overreaching. A gentle, glowing ending to a tale that earns its warmth.
Yes, I fall in love too!

It was beautiful
Love in the Clouds delivers a clean, high-performance romance experience without deploying the usual emotional downsizing. For once — no tragic best friend, no loyal aide dying for “dramatic effect,” no side-couple heartbreak KPI. Honestly, that alone makes the drama feel like a refreshing market disruptor in the xianxia sector. The world-building is glossy, the chemistry is high-yield, and the pacing stays largely stakeholder-friendly. But let’s talk core assets:
Ji Bo Zai’s pet, Bu Xiu, and Ming Yi’s pet, Er Shi Qi.
These two are straight-up the breakout products of the series — adorable, hilarious, and delivering unmatched viewer engagement metrics. Every time they’re on screen, productivity spikes.
In short, this drama is a cloud-soft, visually premium, emotionally safe investment — and the pets? Absolute brand ambassadors.

⭐️ 9/10 - I came for confusion, stayed for conviction.
Confession: I’m not a wuxia romance person. Usually, I lose patience the moment swords start flying and couples start breaking up for “noble reasons.” But Love in the Clouds? Somehow, this one got me.Yes, it had the usual dose of senseless breakups (because what’s a wuxia without at least three tragic misunderstandings per episode?), but surprisingly, I was hooked. The story had just enough intrigue to keep me invested...and the chemistry between the leads was strong enough to slice through any plot fog.
The cast was fantastic, not a single weak link. Costumes? Impeccable. Acting? Stellar. Even the side characters felt like they had depth and purpose (and sometimes better lines than the main couple).
It’s the first wuxia romance I’ve ever finished and actually loved, which says a lot. So if you, too, are a skeptic of flowy robes, flying daggers, and star-crossed lovers... give this one a chance. You might end up floating right along with the clouds. ☁️
ps: So congrats, Love in the Clouds. You made a wuxia romance believer out of me. (Don’t expect me to watch another one soon though. I’m still emotionally recovering from all those breakups.) 😂☁️

Watching Love in The Clouds —> 。 ₊°༺❤︎༻°₊ 。
idk how to describe feelings i got by watching this, it just like ☁️✨🌸🪷🌷🪽🕊️🥰LITC presents a very good plot, and most importantly, it doesn't fall apart. Every storyline (each arc) was executed perfectly, even though there were some difference made from the novel, the story in the drama still very good!
I really love the visuals (THE BEST!) Every scene is so beautiful, the sets are beautifully crafted🥹 not to mention our main CP (Neo Hou and Yuxiao? PERFECT! ☁️😻)
All the characters are so well-suited! They really fit the roles they play!
it’s been a day since the final ep aired, and i’m still hooked😔 also—PLEASE GIVE ME THE PAVILION KISS SCENE IN HD!!!!!!!!!!

Perfection
This was... I dare say perfection. Even though Xiania might be able to please me too easily. Or I just pick the right ones :>The plot was exciting from beginning to end.
--> But it often seems (not just with this one but in general) that like 3/4 of it tells one big story (one big enemy everything revovles around and who is then defeated) and the remaining 1/4 feels just like the aftermath with another big finale.
Well, I won't complain, I still loved everything about it.
The acting was superb. I actually have a direct comparison regarding the ML since I just finished "Back From The Brink". Though I had to get warm with the actor in the last one, I loved him in this drama right from the beginning. I don't know if it was the directing or his acting just improved a hundred times over the last 2 years, I don't know. But man, he was perfection. Every move, every expression, every tear, every shiver, every touch. I bought it. I bought it a hundred times.
The FL was great as well. Though I haven't seen her before, I can't complain about her performance at all. She was a perfect match for the ML, they complemented each other. Both of them had such a touching chemistry. I mean, sometimes I started crying without a reason - the scene wasn't even that sad! And I had so much to laugh in the first half of the story with all their bickering and acting within acting and deception game. And then those sensitive moments. And hot scenes - literally and metaphorically! And skinship! And kisses! I think it's enough mentioning it to make my point clear on those ones ;)
Scenery: Beautiful.
CGI: Awesome. I mean, of course you still see that it's computer based. But it was still so well done and implanted into the scenes, that it created a smooth flow of the scenes. Even the green screen scenes were well composed.
The intro: Completely different from the ones I watched so far but even more stunning than previous ones from other Xianxia.
The only mistake I actually made was to start this one right after finishing another drama with the same actor. I forgot that Chinese dramas often dub their shows and the actors rarely stick with the same dubbers. The first moment the ML spoke I realized right away - I had to get used to his new voice the first 2 or 3 episodes actually.
While writing this review, I'm listening to the soundtrack. Warm and touching compositions, that throw me right back into its world.
- Did you notice how often I was forced to use the word "perfect"? :p

Most dynamic couple
I had no expectations, i did not know who neo was as I have never watched his previous dramas. But im totally hooked with this. This is the best cdrama for me and its going to my top list simply because the ending was so satisfying - not some measly 2-3minutes of open ending crap but something to make me get closure from nearly 36 hours of up and downs. This year had so many unsatisfying endings so this made it to my no 1 of 2025.Maybe the chemistry is what makes this the best, maybe the plot or something. maybe more highlight could have been given to other couples rather than situ ling, i forwarded most of his scenes..

Pretty Good!
I'd like to start off the review with a statement- 'Best chemistry and cast I've ever seen.'The tension right from the very first episode keeps you hooked onto the drama! The intense romantic atmosphere with some mixture of suspicion and betrayal was portrayed beautifully! Although I really loved the it, as someone who doesn't watch fantasy cdramas at all, I did kind of have a hard time understanding some bits and parts of it since this was my first in this genre.
I've loved Yu Chengen's acting since Coroner's diary and intially thought it'd be a similar role. But him as the villain was really really impressive as well! His acting showed a lot more depth and it was really great!
Lu Yuxiao had been one of my favorites since time and him are just right and now seeing her in this drama, her acting has improved so much more! She did the role BEAUTIFULLY! Her expressions were so complex and intricate! She gave the character absolute justice!
This was my first drama by Minghao and oh was I left speechless! He is INSANELY good! His expressions were so flirty and perfect I was left blushing every single time! He is an amazing actor and he was absolutely perfect through and through in the drama. To say I've become a fan would be an understatement.
Overall, I really like the drama and the cast! The songs and OSTs were really beautiful as well! The aesthetics of the drama were perfectly suited to the theme and the vfx was great too! Loved it!

One of the best Cdramas of 2025! truly a gem!
Found this drama a bit late. I saw everyone saying how good the story is, yet in the romantic department, the majority agreed on the fact that it was minimal at first, so i was a bit reluctant to watch, but glad i did because it became one of my favorites!Story:
Typical Romantic Xianxia about star-crossed lovers who are actually archenemies( romeo juliette maybe lol). The story is a bit complicated with so many details but the strong point of this drama is the story's consistency. it did not drag a bit( something quite common in Cdramas). The main characters romance was so beautiful that will stay in my heart for a long time.
The chemistry, kiss scenes, them holding hands and hugs were sooooo lovely.
Acting:
Neo Huo and LYX were amazing. it was my first time seeing them both as i haven't seen their previous works but i dare say despite their young ages, they are amazing! the rest of the cast were quite decent too, which is again very rare in Cdramas to see such intricacy and performance.
Production:
I was worried about CGI and special effects mainly used in Xianxias, which is not good yet in this one, they exceeded my expectations. the production companies are getting better and better these days. Nothing seemed fake or overly colored.
OST:
Both NH and LYX had tracks performed by themselves and their voices were beautiful.
All in all, watch it for the romance and their beautiful love! the lovebirds in this drama were not only heroes but also faithful lovers!
