So I'm actually confused as to who exactly goes to the Borderland. I know it's the space between life and death, and you go there in the 1-2min comatose time before you actually die.

But does this apply to any kind of death? Including natural death ie? Or only accidental/unexpected deaths? Or maybe it's even more specific, and only includes those who 'died' from the meteorite crash?
