Trash and anyone who says it’s good is lying cause they ruined the whole show.

This show went from mind blowing to absolute trash, overnight it turned into a love story and usagi and arisu personal story about their lives and their so called baby. The old characters were barely shown, close to none like they didn’t want them to take the attention from usagi and arisu. The new characters you don’t really feel their death as they were just introduced. This show is a disappointment in every way and I don’t know how they ruined the whole thing overnight. The games weren’t as intense, over explained and too much about the new characters lives as they wanted to fit their backstory in 6 episodes but we barely know them which made the experience boring and a waste of time. I would’ve rather went on without watching this season.

The Only Show That Never Disappoints

Alice in Borderland is honestly the only series that hasn’t disappointed me in all 3 seasons. Season 3 was another absolute masterpiece. The story was so well written, full of tension and twists that had me hooked from the very first episode to the last. The games were on another level creative, unpredictable and so intense that my heart was racing the whole time. What makes it even better is how deeply I found myself emotionally connected with the characters once again. Their struggles, their bonds and their growth pulled me in completely. Few shows manage to balance action, suspense and emotion the way Alice in Borderland does. Season 3 never let me down—it only reminded me why this show is truly one of a kind and a definite must watch.

Games here are too much wild.

Storywise:season1>season2>season3
Gamewise:season3 >season2>season1
Characterwise:season1>season2>season3..
Thrilling wise:season3>season1>season2
Ending:season2>season1>season3..

Overall to me:season1>season3>season2.....surely season 2 story is preferable but the game in season 3 wild and unique...so i put season 3 ahed of season 2...

the ending

Genuinely that joker guy i dont know what or who he was but his part was way too unnecessary. Stopping time? Making Arisu choose between life and death? ruined the ending for me. I didnt like him at all it was weird and really unnecessary to introduce such a useless character so late into the season.
But if we ignore that then this season was absolutely peak, i wish we got to see more of the og characters like kuina and ann and so on but the ending made up for them not being there the whole season

Pointless

Meaningless and empty is what describes this season best. There’s no real motive behind the story, no reasoning that gives weight to the characters.

Netflix is simply milking the genre’s popularity, capitalizing on past successes without adding anything meaningful which resulted to a hollow imitation.

For anyone expecting substance, you’re better off rewatching Squid Game S3

expectations, hype and Manga

Hello everyone

I will give you my opinionon this...

I think we can all agree, that this season wasn't as good as season 1 or 2. The first two seasons were nearly perfection in my opinion, so it's pretty difficult to make the third season this good.

Season 3 was not perfect and I think that many many people expected exactly that...
This season is not perfect, it's just "really" good.

If you compare it to the last season of Sweet Home or the last season of Squid Game than you got with season 3 of Alice in Borderland a truly Gem.

I just think that the expectations and the hype of this season were too much, too high.
Season 3 made the mistake not to be perfect and if someone wants to downrate it for this reason then I can't help you.

Season 3 delivered everything just not on that perfect level:
Romance - check
Clever games - check
Storyline that isn't too dull -check
Soundtrack - check
Good and happy ending - check
Good acting - check
Emotional deepness - check
Feeling or vibe of the previous seasons - check

So the question that I ask myself is, what exactly did you expect?
This season doesn't have the Manga anymore.
It was clear that without the Manga, with this immense expectations and this immense hype, that it couldn't deliver on the same level like the first two seasons. That was no secret...

Now for everyone who wants to give this a chance, you will enjoy a season that is really well made, that is a great ending to a great story.

So let's just be thankful that we got a final season.

So what I am trying to say is, that you have here a season that is better quality-wise than many other dramas.
If you can watch it without any unreasonable expectations, than you will surely enjoy it a lot ^^

If you kept reading until now, than a big thank you and bye bye

Fast-paced storyline and new games kept me glued to the screen.

Despite the negative comments about this show and I get the fact that the first season is always the best, this S3 holds on its own. It's action packed and it never ceases to amaze me with how everything happens so fast and how unpredictable it can end for each character. It did lack in the chemistry from the old cast but it is still a good watch. This season is shorter but each episode. I liked how it tied it back the previous seasons but still moved in its own pace with the maturity of both Arisu and Usagi. The only thing was that it should be longer!!!

Pleasantly surprised

I went into this expecting a Netflix cash grab (*cough* squid game season 2/3 *cough*) and honestly, I'm sure that's why we have another season. Especially when the second season ended the series in a very complete way.
However, this season pleasantly surprised me. I actually really liked it, and liked that we were able to see Arisu and Usagi in the aftermath of the first two seasons. I also appreciated that this season had a glimmer of real hope throughout and that Arisu and Usagi's love/relationship was at the core of the show.

Mind-blowing Games, Need more games

To be honest, I expected more from this season. I wanted to give it a 10/10 before, but I was a little disappointed. Still, it’s great to watch and fantastic overall.

Episode 1
There’s a new character named Ryuuji who is obsessed with Borderland stuff. I didn’t really like him at first. Then he plays the game to enter the Borderland, and they show the first game, Old Maid (ババ抜き / Babanuki). It’s a short and simple game, not bad for the beginning.
The pacing is a bit slow, maybe a little boring, but still okay to watch because it takes time for Arisu to get to the Borderland. You have to be patient.

Episode 2
Sacred Fortunes (御神籤 / Omikuji) is a brilliant game. Players draw fortune slips with questions. Answer correctly = safe. Wrong answer = fire arrows fall, the number depending on how far your answer is from the correct one. Some slips hide clues like directions or safe spots.
The scene was terrifying, 100 million arrows raining down felt like a meteor shower. I wish this game lasted longer; it was over too fast.

Then the game Zombie Hunt (ゾンビハント) starts. There are three types of cards: Zombie, Shotgun, and Vaccine. It turns a simple chase into a brutal mind game of trust and betrayal. It was complicated to understand at first, but really good, with an unexpected twist from Arisu.

Episode 3
The episode starts with zombies again, then a short game scene called レーザー迷宮 (Rēzā Meikyū). Honestly, I was a little disappointed, it was too short. It had potential to be the best game with its colorful lasers.
After that, Runaway Train (暴走列車 / Bōsō Ressha) is wild. Eight train cars, half with poison gas, and only five chances to save yourself. Watching them gamble with the canisters had me stressed, one wrong choice and you’re done. The game is simple but I expected scarier moments because it’s on a train.

Episode 4
The episode continues Runaway Train briefly at the start. I still don’t like the flashbacks about Ryuuji, they make the pacing slow. Then comes Tokyo Bingo Tower (東京ビンゴタワー / Tōkyō Bingo Tawā) and Kick Can (缶蹴り / Kan-Keri), alternating between each other.

Tokyo Bingo Tower is insane and scary. People who fear heights, like me, will feel goosebumps. Who can even do that? It’s a hard game requiring strength to reach the top, and after pushing the bingo button, you must avoid falling iron balls.

Kick Can is intense too. Players must return the can to the base within 60 seconds or it explodes. Every time someone picks it up, the timer resets but shortens by 5 seconds. There are only 10 cans, so only 10 people can clear the game. If the can hits the ground or walls too hard, it explodes instantly. I loved this game, when it exploded, I was shaking because I couldn’t watch directly. It looked cool in the end, especially with the exotic Yakuza tattoos.

Episode 5
Possible Futures (可能性の未来 / Kanōsei no Mirai) has 10 players. Each starts with 15 points and moves through a 5×5 grid of rooms (A1–E5). Entering a room shows a vision of the future (good or bad), but subtracts a random number of points. When a player hits 0 points, they’re out.

I’m not sure if it’s a good or bad game. It’s mostly a psychological trap. I was hoping for something more dangerous, like getting shocked or hit to enter another room, similar to the first game in Season 1, Episode 1. Not bad though.

Episode 6
The previous game ends, and they survive, but I was disappointed again, no more games appear. I thought the 10 players would battle the Joker in a final game, but they didn’t. Instead, a disaster hits, flooding covers Tokyo, Usagi is swept away, and Ryuuji tries to save her. Arisu also tries to save her. Honestly, this weird moment didn’t sit well with me.

Then a mysterious figure appears, I don’t know if it’s the Joker or a Grim Reaper. I expected another game, but it didn’t happen. Arisu succeeds in saving Usagi, and that’s the end.

At the end of the episode, there’s an interview with Arisu’s team from the previous season, which was unexpected. The last scene shows a girl named ALICE in America. Hopefully, they don’t continue in America.

What I Like

The games are smart, complicated, and require both brain and strength to complete.

Fresh, mind-blowing games.

Teamwork is emphasized, they work together, unlike in previous seasons.

Punishments effect for breaking rules or losing make the games dangerous and exciting (fire arrows, exploding cans, etc.).

What I Don’t Like

I expected more terrifying games and more episodes.

Ryuuji’s character is annoying, obsessed with Borderland and Usagi. Even though he saves them sometimes, he’s still unpleasant and unstable.

No character has the iconic or memorable presence like previous seasons (like Chishiya).

The talking and flashbacks make the pacing a bit slow

The last episode has no game.

Is it worth watching?
If you enjoy game dramas, yes, but lower your expectations. There’s a little talking and flashbacks, and fewer games than expected.

What the f***

They should've ended at season 2. I was just so done by ep 3 and had to push myself to continue.
This season 3 makes no sense. Plot didn't tie with the last two seasons at all. Games so boring. The zombie card game, the kick the can game, and their climbing tower bingo game were so lame.
The way how they got back into the game didn't make sense at all. Usagi's reason for going back into the game was dumb...like what the fuck! Your dad is dead...what the hack made you think going back into the game got anything to do with your dad?
Also, I thought she gotten over her dad's death towards the end of season 2.
Ryuji, guy in the wheelchair, he's character was so boring. Dude seemed like a crazy person so obsessed with death. He seemed to be obsessed with usagi too. Romantically? I don't know. Dude's crazy. He's character make no sense. Usagi was annoying. Last season she was such a bad ass. I couldn't believe she was protecting that usagi guy. The dude basically drugged you and brought you into the game.
All the new characters, none of them were really special. .....Arisu, still, was the only best character!
Just so cringe how they used the baby as a player for the last game. Like, did the director of squid game and alice in borderland talked together? Lol!!!!
The ending makes no sense at all and too much added onto the ending.

Usagi The Foolish "Rabbit"

Too often throughout the history of TV series, people decide to keep a series going instead of leaving well enough alone, or to push a series, despite the fact that the well has been run dry of good ideas. "Alice In Borderland " joins the fraternity of shows that should have “quit while it was ahead.”

The first two seasons of the show gave us some of the most powerful and thought-provoking storytelling that I have ever seen. Season 3 fails to even measure up to the first two seasons, largely due to the fact that we got some silly ideas to keep the story going, and the games aren’t nearly as interesting or creative. In fact, some of the games are downright dumb. We also don’t get nearly the same level of focus on the characters or depth of the story, either.

Don’t ask me why the writers decided to go off on such a stupid tangent. Perhaps they couldn’t come up with anything else. Usagi is having nightmares about her father’s suicide, and she’s obsessed with finding a way to reach him. We’ve seen this premise before in The Flatliners and other similar stories. She and Arisu are happily married…well, married, anyway. Anyone who’s truly happy would learn to let go of loved ones who’ve passed. Instead, her pain and suffering drag Arisu into the problem as well.

Usagi meets Ryuji Matsuyama, a man who’s obsessed with finding out what’s beyond death, and she’s tricked into taking a drug that takes her back to the Borderlands by placing her body in a debilitating coma, which she’s not likely to survive. There is one last card to defeat: the Joker, and Matsuyama is promised answers if he can bring Arisu back, and is instructed to use Usagi to achieve that goal. Of course, once Arisu finds out what’s happened, he doesn’t hesitate to head back to the Borderlands to find her. Ann, from the previous series, helps acquire the drug to help Arisu.

The games are much different this time. Players are simply instructed to play random games with the hope of getting to the Finals, and potentially getting back to their world. There are no visas. They simply have a day or two to get to the next arena. Obviously, there are no suits of cards left to defeat, and it seems that there aren’t nearly as many players this time either.

For most of the series, Arisu and Usagi are separated. Never mind that Arisu is doing all he can to find Usagi, while Usagi never even questions Matsuyama about her goal of finding her father and why it seems she was tricked in the first place. Also, never mind that after Arisu sees Usagi, he worries endlessly about how to get back to her. Not once does Usagi show even the same level of passion or concern. In fact, she never mentions Arisu again until they finally meet up for the final game. It’s clear we have a very unbalanced relationship between the two.

The Final ends with a few survivors, and Arisu meeting with “The Watchman (expertly played by Ken Watanabe), who gives Arisu a choice: Life or Death. He can let it all go and choose Death, or he can continue the inevitable struggle and pain by going back to his world. There is no suspense, as we already know which one Arisu is going to choose.

Back in their own world, Arisu is fine, and Usagi is brought out of her coma. Of course, there is no explanation, apology, or anything at all from Usagi, who brought the entire situation upon herself and Arisu for really no reason at all. Rather than seek help, counseling, or a number of other choices, she chose the most reckless and dangerous choice, because she thought so little about her own life as well as Arisu’s.

The premise of this season is the meaning of Life. Ultimately, this is a meaningless theme because the meaning of Life is whatever meaning a person gives it. This didn’t have nearly the same effect as the last episode of the second season, when Arisu battles the Queen of Hearts, who profoundly tells Arisu that life is choice, and you decide how to experience something.

The most ridiculous game was the last one, in which players are in 25 rooms in a square grid and have to find the exit. Along the way, they are shown what their futures might be, given the choice of which door to go through. It’s funny that there are still people out there who believe in fate; that their futures are somehow pre-determined. No future is set. It is impossible to predict the future. Only possibilities based on where you are now. The idea was that, instead of players simply ignoring the images and trying to find the exit, we have players only thinking about trying to manipulate the game to ensure a good future. It was bad enough that this one game took up most of the last two episodes. And where we were supposed to cultivate some sympathy, there was none to be had.

Alice in Borderland should have left well enough alone. If I choose to go back and revisit the series, you can be sure I’ll only watch the first two seasons. Overall, a series that was a huge “10” for me has now taken a big hit, no thanks to this lackluster and uninspiring third season that should have never been made.

good drama

This drama was a really strong continuation of the story. The games this time were some of the most creative and intense so far, and they managed to keep the tension high in every episode. I never felt bored because each challenge brought something new and surprising.

What stood out for me was not just the action but also the way the characters grew. You could really feel the pressure they were under, and at the same time understand why they kept fighting to survive. That emotional layer made the season more meaningful, because it wasn’t only about beating the games but also about what drives people to keep going.
