Love, Curry Rice & Green Flags – Only Boo! is BL Comfort at Its Finest ?? 10/10

Just finished all 12 episodes in 2 sittings and I couldn’t stop smiling from start to end 😭💚
This is honestly one of the cutest and warmest BLs I’ve ever seen—pure, wholesome, and full of heart.

✨ Moo’s first love for Kang was adorable right from the start. I still can’t get over that beautiful moment when Moo wrote the theme song for Kang and sang it through the school’s speakers 🎶🫠 If someone ever did that for me… I’d simply melt into a puddle.
🎵 I also LOVED the OST—especially the theme song Moo wrote. I've listened to it so many times now, it's stuck in my head and heart 💘🎧

💚 Loved the lack of unnecessary drama—no annoying third wheels, no miscommunication, just healthy communication, apologies when needed, and emotional maturity.
The break-up scene on the Metro was so unique and heartbreaking 🥹 And Moo keeping the frozen curry-rice in the freezer for a year?? That was LOVE in its purest form 😭🍛💔

💫 I also adored the second couple, Potoe and Payos. Watching all four boys grow from high schoolers to successful idols while supporting each other was so heartwarming.

🎤 A special shoutout to Keen (Moo) — I was shocked he’s only 18!! He’s super talented: he can act, sing, dance, and just lights up the screen with his cuteness and charm 🥹 Can’t wait to see more of him!

This series gave TharnType x Lovely Writer x TopForm vibes — showing how tough idol life is and the price of love in the public eye.

💚 Only Boo! is soft, genuine, healing, and full of green flags 🌱 Highly, highly recommended!

The cutest and almost perfect 2024 BL -If only they stick with the school-based concept

It was one of the cutest BL series this year that made me feel the butterflies, not until the downfall happened during the last few episodes. Despite being rookies, Sea and Keen played their respective roles very diligently. Kang and Moo are indeed a couple of babies that are too fluffy and loveable bringing another set of sunshine to the audience. I also love their distinct personality; Moo is too direct and confident while Kang is too caring and mature.

Almost everyone in the show is likable except for one. Potae is not hateable that much but he is my least favorite character. It would be more acceptable for me if Payos ended up with Jang and not the other one around. Despite this, giving everyone a partner at the end was unnecessary but ain’t that feel too pushover. I am happy to see Shone having his endgame during the last episode.

As I said earlier, I sincerely enjoyed the show during its earlier episodes. The time skip and chasing of dreams was too rushed for me and the sequence of scenes kept getting boring. The plots are too common with no sign of uniqueness from other shows. It does affect my overall rating from a high rate to only landing an average score. Nevertheless, Only Boo felt like another youth romance with a perfect start but with a bad wrap finale.

cutesy typical bl series

i love it. i love the casting. but the acting tho, i just think that it needed a bit more work. overall this is definitely a good watch. a cute match for the main cast also. I just find the plot and phasing of the scenes a bit boring. i don't know but at some parts it just feels empty and has a lot of space or blank areas. but don't get me wrong, i enjoyed it. i think i just needed some kind of plot twist.

A school BL done right

I was glad to have caught on to My Boo even though it did not grab my attention during the semi annual GMMTV reveal for 2024. It has decent pacing, the flirting by Moo is masterclass, the dialogue is well paced, and the it does the job of these rom-com BLs- which is to make your heart flutter and remember your high school romances.

I was going to give a 9 for almost every category after I came to the page to write a review after the last episode, but then I breathed, and thought about the show once my heart has calmed down. When looking at the show subjectively, Keen, who stars as Moo, is the one that carried the show. And he nailed it. His flirting game is strong, the dialogue is tight, and his acting was believable. I don't think anyone can stand Moo-esqe flirting for too long, you'll cave in to his love.
The rest of the cast was serviceable, but that is that. Sea, Aun and Ashi's inexperience really showed. They had some decent lines, but Sea's facial expressions and tone was rather flat. It could be Kang's character, but I think some work could have been done to further express his emotions.
Potae and Payo's storyline was interesting, but it was not fleshed out well and went downhill after Payo confessed his love. Around episode 9 isn't it obvious that Potae like him back? Why does he feel that Potae doesn't like him after those actions? We will never know. The scenes for the both of them are rather flat and it could not further develop them as characters, which is a pity. It would have been better if we had scenes of them interacting, Payo gradually realises that Potae loves him too and its no longer one sided, and they got together at the end. Unfortunately, their solution was a 'sudden confession' style face to face at the end.

Overall, I think the flirting era of Kang and Moo was very well done, though the side couple could use some work. Shout out to Milk who acted as Neth, her dialogues were very believable and she played the 'clear minded friend that guides the emotionally introvert friend to do what is right for love' very well. Also the break up scene was very well done, on Keen's side.

Not great but not bad

Acting was good. Kissing 5/10 it seemed tense for me. It was nice that they used original music but I felt like they overused songs to the point of them actually being kinda boring the same with choreographies and sound effects when something funny was happening.
Story was the weakest point of this drama in my opinion. I've watched it all but fast forwarded through episodes because it was making me bored actually. Too many love confessions and not much tension. Unrealistic and too optimistic but it's okay drama for casual watching. It won't give big rollercoaster of emotions but if you like silly and cute dramas it will be a nice choice.

A wholesome love story

I loved everything about this series. The way Moo wins flirts with Kang and the way Kang slowly accepts his feelings. Yes, there are two(!) episodes that will break you and the ending could have been a bit sweeter, but all in all you will finish it happily.
I started this series for the story and I stayed for the music. Keen (Moo) can really sing (in my opinion). And the lyrics are just so beautiful!
Considering the cast and their acting: I knew Milk only from 23.5 when I started Only Boo and I really loved her as Neth. And for KeenSea and AunAshi: I have nothing to complain about.
I really liked this series and I think, if you need a beautiful love story and still need to cry a bit; this Only Boo is definitely the right choice

If you're looking for a light-hearted, sweet, romance that's well narrated then this one is for you.

This was really quite cute. Exactly the type of story I was looking for: light, fun and not too much drama.

Both main characters won me over with their likability and realistic portrayal. Moo and Kang were great characters and it was amazing getting to see their journey, both as individuals and a couple.
Payos and Potae relationship was so emotionally explored. All their fears and insecurities coming to life and testing their feelings.
The twists? So well done. They gave the series more depth and I really appreciated that.
The story went quick. I didn't feel like there was much time wasted on filler, though there were some spots that could have been trimmed.
If you are a fan of young adult serials or just into a great story about two people finding themselves in life, this is well worth the viewed.

Finding Your Happiness...

When the first few trailers for this show dropped, it barely registered on my radar. Not because it looked bad, but I just don't remember seeing anything that might have grabbed me like some of the other BLs with bigger names and bigger concepts. By the time I even realized the show was airing, two episodes had already premiered, and on a total whim I decided to give the first episode a try, after having taken quite a bit of time away from BLs as a whole to focus on a long list of other media to watch.

All it took was the first few scenes and that endearing charming ear worm of an intro song to completely hook me. I couldn't help it. Keen's lovely vocals and the adorable way the lead couple danced around each other, I knew I was gonna follow this show to the end.

Is this another high school BL with goofy antics and obnoxious sound effects? sure. Is it also so much more than that? absolutely. The writing is tender, the actors do their jobs wonderfully, and the through line of the series is always about these two young people who are just completely in love with each other. It never feels like it's pushing the actors into uncomfortable shipping scenes to get the fangirls squealing, everything feels genuine because these two characters, Moo and Kang, love each other very deeply, and from their first scene together have an immediate connection.

The story is a compelling one, focusing on Moo's dream to become an idol, and the various colorful characters that Orbit him, but the real heart of the show is just Moo and Kang's relationship. Seeing them go from strangers to friends to lovers takes up the majority of the run time with all of the idol stuff serving as a nice background story that eventually ramps up near the end. The show isn't reinventing the wheel by any means, but it takes all the tropes of the genre and utilizes them in a fresh enjoyable way, thanks in most part to the great chemistry of the two lead actors. Every scene they have together is a treat. They really carry the show, which is great because they get a majority of the screen time.

This isnt gonna be everyone's favorite show. Some people might be over the high school shenanigans, the cute chaste romance, or even the dreaded episode 11 curses, but these stories will always hold a special place for me, and this is an example of the genre working at its very best. So if you are on the fence about the series, give it a try, this is your sign to possibly fall in love with two young characters experiencing that sweet, innocent, adorable, awkward and sometimes painful time of first love. In my opinion, it really isn't done much better than this.

A much needed feel-good

At first I was sceptical about this show and I didn't want to bother with it since I was busy. One day I really needed to relax and I decided to give the show a try since I had been feeling kind of meh about a lot of BL's coming out. I think 3 episodes were out and I binged them and then got really sad I couldn't watch any more.

The storyline isn't revolutionary and I don't think it's that deep either, however I rate things, shows, books, whatever, entirely on how much I enjoyed it and I thouroughly enjoyed this story. It's very wholesome and I feel like the stresslevels are very low. There aren't that many stakes and it was just what I needed. There were some scenes where I got quite moved.

I was pleasantly surprised with the acting since it was new actors and I loved the soundtrack, I feel like it perfectly matched the show and its vibe.

This show filled a My School President shaped hole in my heart and I could 100% see myself rewatching this show if I need something lighthearted, fun and cute.

What this show lacks on drama and acting it compensates with cuteness

The first thing to say is, this show is the cutes BL I have ever seen.
While fresh actors are always a risk, Keen did a superb job, Sea was a bit stiff in some scenes but he hold up well. The side couple was not as interesting and cute, but it worked ok for me.

This show was made for teens I suppose, but while the story is not really dramatic, it was fun to watch, was executed in a great and cute way. Production value was high, the OST much better than most GMMTV shows and the commercials inbetween were kept to a minimum.

There is not much else to say, if you like cute, this show is for you!

Speaks For Itself.

The story speaks for itself
The acting speaks for itself

Moo, while meeting him in the beginning can appear to be annoying & not so serious. stick with him & watch him grow. Moo, is adorable & so deserving in this series. a genuine-loving human. an optimist. a smile it's a new day kinda guy.

Kang, a lot of folks wanted more in terms of a story from his character, other than just following Moo as he aspired to become an idol. his role - his story was a needed balance to Moo & i have nothing to request addt'l of him. he executed his role exceptionally well.

Parenting, teaching your kids to put your heart on hold for your profession is insane...in any culture. listen to your body when it speaks to you. your brain, heart, stomach, back, arms & legs. listen. never ignore your heart. the same way you follow your dreams & passions in your career - do the same in love. both may be unsuccessful, but follow them nonetheless. and when you boil things down - that's literally what this story was about. in the most simple of words "following your heart."

Friends, 3 guys who were never meant to be friends. Moo, joining 2 guys who were already "friends" but in the most rocky of ways. friendship that began out misunderstandings & dislike. Tae & Moo ultimately becoming the closest of friends, i did not see coming. it made all the sense reflecting back on the story. Yos & Tae...i could see more to their story. Neth & Jang as well. Shone, just disgusting. Moo apologizing to Shone for approaching Kang & speaking to Shone as he did (huh)? probably not a scene that was needed. Moo went above & beyond to be nice to a lot of undeserving ppl & when he finally gave these ppl a real what for, he apologizes. no no my Moo, don't apologize - you're not wrong.

All in All it was a great series that i honestly had no intention of watching, but logging in to certain sites, i would see the series everywhere. so i added it to my MDL list for a future watch. ultimately i needed something to offset the steamy Love Sea. something lighthearted.
