“You have a partner with you, I’m jealous.”

The fight choreography in this… jeez! No dizzying camera tricks, just pure action gun fu madness.

Baby Assassins: Nice Days is such an upgrade from the first 2 films. Easily the best one in the series. It still has that slice of life charm but is undeniably darker with a proper f-ed up villain this time, all thanks to baddy daddy Sosuke Ikematsu.

Nice days also treats us with longer buddy action with Akari Takaishi being involved in more combat scenes alongside the amazing Saori Izawa, who’s slick as always (and who’s basically the reason for all my squeals).

Aside from the action, I believe Akari and Saori’s chemistry together is also what keeps this series interesting. It’s just warm and fuzzy whenever they’re together and they simply make Chisato and Mahiro’s bond believable and endearing to watch.

Really hope this series continues and levels up with more epic action.

Nice Addition

I can easily say that this was an improvement from the sequel. The assassin was more engaging to me, there were no draggy dialogue and the scenes with Chisato and Mahiro are still fun, warm and endearing. The other new characters introduced was nice too, quite bland but not bad.

Baby assassin still keeps it sharp, crazy ridiculous but nail biting action scenes— there was quite a lot of them too! It's absurd when the shooting scenes miss with like, one feet of distance but if you've watched anime then you'll be used to that XD I always appreciate the gun shooting scenes also, Akari Takaishima did well for the combat stuff, nice addition too alongside Saori. Also, I love that slightly dark aspect the movies keep, like besides the flashy shoot out sequences, when somebody just ruthlessly gets killed, it's just gritty, quite stomach churning and really reflects the fact that as much as this is a action comedy movie, it's quite bleak and our main characters aren't heroes. They're just two, goofy psychopaths but love them all the same.

The first is still my favourite and athough I enjoyed this more than the second movie, I hope they end it here.

A great "turn your brain off" action movie.

I know we shouldn't like Mahiro and Chisato, but across the trilogy I somehow find myself rooting for them to win. Got me wondering if there's something wrong with me. The duo are funny, quirky, and oddly believable as fictional characters. And their love for one another- despite the fact that they don't always get along- is clear as day.
Mahiro and Chisato even have character arcs, which- in a movie like this- is a shocking and pleasant surprise.
I have nothing bad to say about any of the Baby Assassin movies. It is a very unique premise on the assassin genre. I can't give it a higher rating because... well...Mahiro and Chisato are assassins.

The Baby Assassins franchise is back with a killer entry

Baby Assassins: Nice Days is closer in quality to the first than the second one, at least for me.

I'm so glad that these exist. They live in their little corner of the universe, giving us peculiar but charming assassin slice of life nonsense alongside neatly choreographed action that has a unique flair to it. You'd be hard-pressed finding anything like it.

Stunts - 80/100 | And this time, there's even more action. It's definitely the most action-packed of the franchise so far.

Narrative - 68/100 | We're veering into John Wick territory here. I hope the 4th installment will be assassins vs the guild. Pretty please?

Fight Choreography - 93/100 | Yeah, this is the shit. If you wanna know why this type of choreography works read my review of the first installment, or more accurately: my summary of Tao A's review. More of this please! More!

Enjoyment - 82/100 | As long as the quality stays like this I'm gonna watch for sure. The sound editing and uneven mixing remain the only criticism I could give these movies on the technical side.

I love that Japan is carving a place for itself in the "great martial arts movies" category these days. They're picking up the slack left by some other countries. Well, the more the merrier!

Main Fighters: Saori Izawa, Sosuke Ikematsu
