Must See Thriller
I loved the story, the acting, the whole cast. Hope DEX gets a lot more acting roles after this and the young actors too. Loved Won Jin Ah.The only thing I disliked is how the villain has such a big ego and no one questions or betrays her, and she mostly gets away with it. I feel like a lot of shows these days do that. Of course it is done that way to rile up the viewer and make the ending more impactful, but I don't think it is very realistic.

kinda dissapointed
SPOILERS!!!
i really wish se-hee wasnt given the choice to kill herself because i wanted her to live with what she did and not just be left off the hook..
i was also dissapointed when the kids stayed with the ahjussi because they didnt want other kids to be killed but the parents shoot all of them anyways and it happend so easily and fast too, so it felt like they didnt plan anything at all to actually make sure any other kids would survive :(
at first i thought the samchun would do something because he really cared about ah-yena but i wasnt dissapointed about what he did. i think it matched his character and was interesting even if it was unexpected from me.

Ending was stupid.
I was so annoyed how bad guy knows exactly where they are and somehow gets them. The cop gets killed out of blue, they show him to us for few episodes and then dies off like that. The ending was stupid aswell, they literally killed all the kids off and then the swat came, what was the point?

Good thriller and good refreshment from all the lovey-dovey drama
Let me bfr...This drama isn't the for the weak who came for lovely-dovey trop. This is draker than you think. If you like dramas that are thriller and dark (don't think Abt logic, lol) is is surely your cup of tea.I had personally liked it because I'm more of a thriller person than a romantic plot person. From the comment section I can understand that most of y'all cam for Dex. But let me hold your hand and say ''You wouldn't want to expect anything'.
Even though Dex was on the evil side I had hopes for him to turn good but I'm glad he didn't because I would feel bad for him at the end. Also I feel like Se Hee had more connection with him than any other and that makes sense of why he chose to be with her despite of all the things she had done.
Another waste character was the detective. Bro wtf was he evn there for 2ep just to die. I thoght that he would give a major plot twist but I didn't expect him to just die. I started laughing instead when I saw that scene, lol 😂.
At the end of the day the kids were the ones who solved everything.. no other adults had a slight role in it than their Tae shik. Even though he didn't have much of a screen time but had played a major role in shaping them.
Also RIP to Song Young Kyu 💐 May his soul rest in peace
"Overall I would give this drama an 8.5/10"

Great concept which did not deliver
The Defects is a drama with a powerful premise, but it struggles to maintain its emotional core as the story progresses. The first half of the series is its clear strength, excelling at building an emotional connection with its characters. We are introduced to their backstories and get to understand the tragic world they come from, and the genuine bond they form with each other, creating a powerful sense of family. This makes it easy to become deeply attached to them.Unfortunately, not all characters receive the same level of attention. For example, Dexs character; there is no real development for him throughout the entire series. This is especially frustrating as the story itself shifts dramatically in the second half. The characters transform from vulnerable victims into a perfect, unstoppable commando group that survives everything.
This feels like a missed opportunity and undermines the emotional depth the series built in the beginning. The show would have been more powerful and impactful if it had focused on a different direction, lke exploring the realities of child trafficking and the long-term emotional damage it causes, rather than creating "perfect" children.
Ultimately, while the drama has some engaging moments and characters, it fails to leave a lasting impression. This is compounded by an ending that feels lackluster and fails to deliver a satisfying conclusion.

expected ending
The concept of this drama is really good, and as a huge fan of thrillers, I was instantly hooked from the start. I even recommended it to my friends because the drama felt so promising. However, after a few episodes, the fight scenes started to feel way too unrealistic like how did those kids manage to survive through all that? I get that it’s just a drama, but still 💀. On top of that, I was hoping for a shocking, mind-blowing twist at the end, yet the conclusion turned out to be pretty predictable. Was this review helpful to you?
Good Enough
Korean Drama 'The Defects' is a dark thriller. For a short drama, the story is nicely developed, even though there were some twists that were rushed. Still, the idea was enjoyably unfolded, with a satisfying ending to a frustrating story. They also manage to fit in the main story the children's stories, which added much to the emotional impact of the story. Moreover, the action scenes were entertaining.
Finally, the performances were all great.
So, overall, seven and a half out of ten.

Thriller , revenge
Sure, that’s how I write the review of this. Overall, the whole story cast was perfect. Main characters, portrayed well . Dex was amazing I mean I fell for him in singles inferno s2 and fell for him yet again. Recommended if u want non-romance, thriller, kinda emotional type of drama which might make u angry too …Was this review helpful to you?
I can’t move on from the Defects
I cried so much in this drama, wishing that the would all survive and get to live freely, c’mon all they ever wanted was to survive, but that evil bitch just wanted to get rid of all of them cause of her past, I hate her the most in this drama, Jung hyun only followed her footsteps just to survive. I cried so hard I had headaches when Seok-su and Jung hyun died they didn’t deserve to die, i wanted them to survive I wanted Seok-su to live freely because he suffered the most, he deserves to be loved, his death caused me emotional distress😭. Jung hyun just had to pay for his sins but not with his dead cause he was one of my favorite characters🥹. Nevertheless I’m still thrilled the others get to survive even tae sik, i don’t know how I’ll ever move on from this drama thinking about it makes me cry, maybe I should watch more of this drama when I’m going through alot so I can cry freely without worries. Thank you to the writers who created this masterpiece I hope you continue to make more dramas like this annyeong. Was this review helpful to you?
A promising start
I have read the webtoon so I have high hopes for this drama. The first episode looks really good. Good action scenes and the visuals were also amazing. It felt something of a similar vibe like the ''Healer" drama. So if you are into those then its a must watch for you. Don't read the summary because its kind of confusing to some people, just watch the drama. You won't be disappointed. Was this review helpful to you?
This drama is goodddddddddd
Like I don’t know what I was expecting, but this drama just gave me more than I expected. Ep 1 was so good, the acting, production was so good. Like kdramas aren’t hard as it used to, but this drama just brought back k dram. The suspense and tension is on point, and I like how they are straight to the point, they aren’t dragging the story at all. Ep 2 on the other hand is good too, the drama gets better and better. This drama is a mustttttttttttttttt. Was this review helpful to you?
Imo the impressive thing is picking EXACTLY small pieces to show off the darkness to really get the idea of what it is.
So the pace is rather fast and everything is more and more clear as you go along. ***Masterful*** script, in that regard.
Just ONE short scene conjures TONS of information. That is due to a really sharp script writer.
For example: the scene when AY visits the mom of the missing boy and mom already has a new baby ... but cries... then it seems over but then she cannot help it and cheerfully asks about pretty shoes. Or when AY and her mom talk about why AY has only 2nd place, or Snow White. Those are scenes that last about 1 minute at most but tell EVERYTHING about the relationships, about the people themselves, about the plot.
Also the dark scenes are not gross nor too plastic, for example So Mi being molested is conveyed in no uncertain terms, but we do not get to see the details - which is exactly appropriate. WE GET TO BE HORRIFIED without being infested with the violent images. And we learn the key aspects about So Mi and her father and family in just one 1 minute scene.
Yeah masterful script writer.
Also, this is a masterful slimey way to test the audience if they would allow this kind of stuff, especially in countries with low birth rate and going extinct. Which is essentially all developed world. As soon as a place gets rich, no more kids. So many men go gay, Seems some women too but it doesnt seem in such high numbers or maybe they are not as a powerful group to get their gay agenda into the public. Sexism even in gayness :( Straight people just do not marry or have kids, they have nice easy pleasant fun lives without any obligations.
SO UNDER THOSE CIRCUMSTANCES, IF YOUR COUNTRY IS GOING EXTINCT, WOULD YOU ALLOW CLONING LIKE THIS? is really the main question here...
But the thing is, the world just does NOT need new people.
The world already has plenty enough.
Seems like only fast reproducing countries and groups will survive on planet Earth.
Like... Africa. S America. etc.
Lots of Catholics ;)
There is a great kmovie THE SILENCED that talks about a real life situation.

Of course this has been happening in Native American boarding schools (ran by church), colonized places and with minority or poor kids. Anyone who isnt able to defend. Just google it. The last Pope "appologized" to Native Americans just last year or so.
