Been a wuxia/action lover since my youngling days. I don’t mind romance but too much would make me cringe. I am more into mature romance, that doesnt involve skinship, overload of frenchkisses and spicy bed scenes. Generally watch chinese period cdrama, with occasional kdrama of thriller/horror/action genre.

So far Dramas that had been hard for me to move on from are:

  • The Untamed - I was so overwhelmed by this one that I kept rewatching multiple times, read the novel (but hated it), watched the donghua, watched all spinoffs etc. Thats how lost i was in the world of The Untamed. Took me quite a few months to crawl out of it, really.

  • Princess Agent - the cliffhanger ending made it really hard for me to move on after being so invested in the characters and the plot. Thankfully it was based on webnovel so I get to see it to the end with so much more satisfying plot, characters and ending. Like for real, if you love the cdrama, you’d love the novel a thousand times more! I literally rewatched the drama 4-5 times (skipped the middle part of the FL and SML’s little stint together) and read the bloody novel 5 times all throughout the years as Xiao Xiang Dong Er (the novel writer) updated the masterpiece.

  • The Legend of Shenli - despite the storyline being rather simple and straightforward, my difficulty in moving on from this one was largely contributed by Princess Agent’s cliffhanger. It is a totally different story from Princess Agent of course, different title and writer but both my fav main leads from Princess Agent are here, and theyre both as badass as ever complete with an extremely satisfying ending. I kinda treated it as the cure potion for the rather miserable adaptation of Princess Agent novel. I can’t remember how many times I watched this, but it was A LOT! I even thought of rewatching it again right now as I write this.

  • A Journey to Love - this is probably the hardest to move on from cuz it was not based on literature, so there’s no way for me to vent or look for a proper closure. Despite the ridiculous ending, I couldnt bring myself to rate it lower than 10 - that is how good the overall plot and characters are. The only way to satisfy my love for the show is to rewatch multiple times while avoiding the last 2 unnecessary episodes. I think i finally moved on to another show after the third or forth rewatch, but i found myself keep getting reeled back into another patch rewatch throughout the years.
