I agree. Love doesnt need to be portrayed by physical actions. I liked Fight for Love and Luoyang’s kind of mature romance where the couple doesnt need to cuddle or frenchkiss everytime they meet. I even fast forward when the romantic scene gets too cheesy. It’s the plot that counts, not how many times the lovers pounce at each other.

Ooh Aimi finally taking up lead role! I first saw her in My Journey to You then Whispers of Fate, I think she’s cute and possesses quite a talent too! Cant wait to watch this.

Have you seen kdrama The Murky Stream? The actor was super handsome but because he played a wanted man, he had messy makeup that looked so natural i could imagine how bad he wouldve smelled had it been in real life. Thats why i dont understand why idol drama need the actors to stay flawless throughout all the hardships and hellholes the characters are thrown in. I doubt it would hurt the rating if they looked less beautiful on screen in accordance to the situations their characters are in.

I am so divided on watching this show. Is it too dark? Is the ending ok or would it leave me feel unsettled? I am eyeing this show solely for Lee Young Ae. Does her character has a good ending?

Omg i just started to rewatch Jewel In the Palace 2003 cuz i was feeling kinda nostalgic, currently on episode 3. Just as i thought to look for newer works of Lee Young-ae, i saw this!! Theyre doing Jewel in the palace season 3? (I remembered it was aired in 2 seasons in my country back in those days). Omg i cant wait!!! I feel so giddy. So me rewatching Dae Jang Geum is just right to refresh my memories before watching this latest season! I cant wait!

I actually agree. The standard is unrealistic. It’s gonna be hard for the current actors to keep up and harder for newcomers to get noticed. I have nothing against beautiful men, but the extra effort to make them look even more flawless on screen is very much cringe-worthy. Would the rating really suffer if they had a messy, non flawless makeup for the actors? I doubt it. Fans watch for the actors and non fans watch for talent.

Same here. If zhuge yue and xing er never get together as husband and wife, i’ll just treat this piece as independent show not related to the novel and princess agent at all. Iam inclined to non/less romantic shows so the fact that the main couple never got romantic wont bother me as much if i just regard it to have no relation to princess agent novel and part 1 of the adaptation.

I dont really mind if they never show intimate scenes on screen, i actually prefer mature relationship with less skin contact and kissing for my fav couples. The problem with rumours on Rebirth isnt just about intimate scenes. I heard they changed the relationship of the main couple from lovers to master-disciple. 🫩 😤 this doesnt bode well with the fans of course, since our main couple shouldve lived as a happily married couple with children in a kingdom of their own making. Master-disciple relationship wont lead to this happy ending in the novel.

It’s because the novel was embroiled with plagiarism case so they couldnt move forward until it settles in. Thats also why Rebirth only materialized recently after the author had revised the novel to remove all plagiarized material.

It’s the year on the fictional world of the novel. They correlate with the character’s age. It’s easier for me to keep track of their ages because the author love to use this by year timeline.

I am from south east asia, and am not offended by that remark. He was commenting the doodle ffs. Since each ethnic and region in the world do have a distinct type of ‘face’, would it be any better if he said it looked arabian or white? Or japanese or russian? This uproar is weird.

Go to mydramanovel.com and look for Rebirth from the novel list. They have the latest edition of the novel after the author omitted the plagiarized parts.

She was 17 during filming. Duh. And it’s the family’s deal that she wont have any romance in the show. So yeah. It’s the age. And poor selection by the production team. Believe me i am one of those people who anticipated S2 of Legend of Chuqiao (princess agent) because of the romance, since it had no closure in S1. We want to see the main characters reunited as a couple just as they had in the novel, i am more than happy if the rumours were wrong and they really had that couple relationship on screen. But seeing that the actress was 17 during filming and her co star 28, i wont get my hopes up too much. Especially when i heard the family deal had been romance had to be out of the table to have huangyang tiantian in the show.

Lol Zhu Yu novel is definitely Female Centric, exactly like legend of female general, legend of chu qiao and Fight for Love but somehow people still complain about ML not having as much screentime as the FL. 🙄 funny lot.

One of the best cnovels i read so far, i reread it 5 times since PA cuz i just couldnt move on from the cliffhanger. The novel healed my wounds. Have a go at it! You wont be disappointed.

The novel had a very happy ending where they rule their own kingdom with children. The FL only starts being romantic with ML after she was 20yo and this only happens after she cut ties with yanxun. I cannot say the adaptation would be the same as the novel since they decided to hire an underaged actress.
