Yeah the synopsis of the novel says he’s from another planet. I couldnt read the novel cuz the machine-translation was too shitty i cant’t make head or tails of it. I got as far as ch3 before giving up. So far havent found a decent english translation of the novel yet.

I’ve finished both seasons of eternal brotherhood and yeah no sci fi element at all. Just through and through costume fantasy drama. I enjoyed it very much though. Wouldnt mind more seasons cuz they stopped before even half of the novel, though i doubt there’ll be any. 🤷🏻‍♀️

The director admits to using 3minutes of AI during the past life. Thats why i wonder which part of it was AI cuz i couldnt spot it. The past life part felt like it spanned more than 3 minutes.

Thanks for this. Ive been hesitating to watch this drama cuz the summary looked like it’s a slow burn romance. Good to know that it’s more action packed than romance. Now i can start watching with ease.

Yeah that’s what i mentioned earlier. The ending of this drama provides closure to all the conflicts faced by Manager Kim. So the ending is clear. But they put on the final scene like there could be a season 2 where kim starts to work for his friend that he asked to rip Juhak apart.

So even if season 2 never comes out, this season 1 still has a proper closure.

Lol i hate to say this but yes, One and only is better than Forever and Ever 🤣🤣 i actually dropped the sequel cuz it got so boring. They also snipped out the little detail about ML being a foreign country diplomat which made him look like a badass without even swinging the sword like he did in One and Only. 🤣 yeah i dropped the sequel that i was so looking forward to watching. Gosh. I didnt even bother to do a review for it. I just did a quick-rate instead. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Same here. It’s the main attraction for me. He is not that kind of hero who swoops in to save others, and he definitely doest always win his battles. Though he’s very good at fleeing them. 😍

Just explaining how it made sense in the novel and why it doesnt in the adaptation. Cuz they botched the plot. Even the FL’s character doesnt make sense. How did she suddenly become a genius at strategy and political maneovre upon rebirth when she died right after xiao xun became emperor? She definitely didnt learn this from her past life. It doesnt make sense at all. While in the novel she lived as the empress of the kingdom for 20 years before xiao xun finally killed her, so the fact that she died around 40 would make those skill of hers acceptable.

I cant comment on the adaptation further cuz i only watched up to ep 7. You wrote a good review btw. made me not regret dropping the show 😆 i am sorry if you felt i was criticizing your review. I am not. Just sharing how different the series and novel is which may explain the things that you thought doesnt make sense in the show.

I agree. They yap to no end on s2 it’s like they purposely do it to add more minutes to the show. S1 is better, this is s2 is too bland while trying too hard to look profound.

I have only read the novel and never finished the show cuz they botched it real bad. In the novel, the rebel army came from the hostage prince’s father who is also the emperor’s brother. It was the father who had influence over the nobles enough to gather the army, so his hostage heir didnt need to do anything to get things working behind the scene. He also has a great minion that works as messenger between the heir and the father (the father is the Prince, and the hostage prince u mentioned is actually the prince’s heir) so it makes sense in the novel. Anyway, yeah i couldnt finish the series cuz they botched the FL so badly. It’s the downside of reading the novel first and expecting a great, loyal adaptation like they did with Blossom and Pursuit of Jade. 😢😞🙁

Your review piqued my curiosity of this show. I am always a sucker at love stories with couples that dont try too hard at falling in love by having those lame ass slow-mo staring contests and sexually suggestive skinships. Those kind of scenes never fail to put me off on the couple’s chemistry and make me cringe at the supposedly growing relationship. I think i am gonna try on this one - u totally got me at fiesty unconventional FL. I love strong (physical or emotional - both is a plus plus) FLs more than I love physically strong MLs.
