It does feel like a lot of negativity...probably the reason for this is that maybe PA`s a masterpiece and a much…
Honestly I think theyre just hating because the original cast of PA didnt come back for this. Plotwise Rebirth is okay, definitely doesnt warrant such a low score of 6.0 now. Yeah the last 10eps or so were bust but come on, the rest was really okay.
i dont understand why wang pu willingly follow xie huaian plan to poison yan fengshan (to which he poison himself),…
Maybe it goes back to the sense of fillial piety that i saw very much ingrained in ancient chinese culture. Wang pu has a fillial piety responsibility towards his parents (though he never knew or saw their faces) but he also has a sense of the same responsibility towards Yan Fengshan whom he considered as a father for saving him as a child (Yan couldve left him for dead) and raising him. So i guess since he could not bring himself to kill the only parent he knew, he also realize he could not live knowing that that parent had killed his real parents and used him all his life. 🤷🏻♀️
I miss this show. Why was it only 28 eps??? Time for a rewatch...
There’s an episode 29 with only 11minutes showing the possible survival of Xie Huaian. They never showed his face but the bodyframe, skin and voice is obvious it’s him. I couldnt understand why he’s behind bars tho 😅 i am actually here lurking in chats and discussions to see if anyone had analyzed the ending.
So people would have something to talk about i guess. I know i had a hard time moving on from A Journey to Love…
Definitely worths it. You can read my review, select most recent instead of most helpful, my review is right at the top. It’s totally an exhilirating ride. The action is top notch. Romance is mild (no kissing or making out whatsoever, a total mature romance) which is just the way i like it.

Hahahha ikr right! Gimme 5. As traumatizing as AJtL had been, i actually rewatched 3 times 🤣🤣🤣 twice of those until ep37 only before the main character’s death. Had enough of those during the first 2 watches 🤣 and watched princess agents 5 times esp the ice lake scene cuz that was the moment xing er truly regretted her decision to stay with yanxun and showed compassion towards yuwen yue. I read the novel 5 times too 🤣🤣🤣🤣 that was how hard it was for me to move on from the two titles.
Ikr! The character is so inconsistent! At least you managed to get to ep20. I can’t even force myself to continue…
You definitely have more patience than me. I can never stand the annoyance if i had pushed on. I’d be cursing all throughout the show and the rating couldve been even lower 🤣
I realized I mostly dropped shows when the FL is too much of a damsel in distress with stupidity, clingy and naiive package. Also when the romance got too cringy. I can never put up with those. Good luck to you!
Your review is spot on! I'm in EP.20 right now after bearing through the unbearable 18th episode, and God knows…
Ikr! The character is so inconsistent! At least you managed to get to ep20. I can’t even force myself to continue after the supposedly lightning tribulation for Tingyan on Ep17. How the heck did this piece of damp cloth get powered up when she’s always get beaten up all the time and ML keeps saving her? The only progress i see up to ep17 is how theyre getting better at making out in bed. That’s all there is to it.
There’s so much more to a story than just happy endings and kisses. One and Only is my all-time favorite, and…
I agree. Love doesnt need to be portrayed by physical actions. I liked Fight for Love and Luoyang’s kind of mature romance where the couple doesnt need to cuddle or frenchkiss everytime they meet. I even fast forward when the romantic scene gets too cheesy. It’s the plot that counts, not how many times the lovers pounce at each other.
Ooh Aimi finally taking up lead role! I first saw her in My Journey to You then Whispers of Fate, I think she’s cute and possesses quite a talent too! Cant wait to watch this.
I actually agree. The standard is unrealistic. It’s gonna be hard for the current actors to keep up and harder…
Have you seen kdrama The Murky Stream? The actor was super handsome but because he played a wanted man, he had messy makeup that looked so natural i could imagine how bad he wouldve smelled had it been in real life. Thats why i dont understand why idol drama need the actors to stay flawless throughout all the hardships and hellholes the characters are thrown in. I doubt it would hurt the rating if they looked less beautiful on screen in accordance to the situations their characters are in.
I am so divided on watching this show. Is it too dark? Is the ending ok or would it leave me feel unsettled? I am eyeing this show solely for Lee Young Ae. Does her character has a good ending?
Omg i just started to rewatch Jewel In the Palace 2003 cuz i was feeling kinda nostalgic, currently on episode 3. Just as i thought to look for newer works of Lee Young-ae, i saw this!! Theyre doing Jewel in the palace season 3? (I remembered it was aired in 2 seasons in my country back in those days). Omg i cant wait!!! I feel so giddy. So me rewatching Dae Jang Geum is just right to refresh my memories before watching this latest season! I cant wait!
I'm very confused and I don't watch c-dramas, but I do think that harmful beauty standards in the entertainment…
I actually agree. The standard is unrealistic. It’s gonna be hard for the current actors to keep up and harder for newcomers to get noticed. I have nothing against beautiful men, but the extra effort to make them look even more flawless on screen is very much cringe-worthy. Would the rating really suffer if they had a messy, non flawless makeup for the actors? I doubt it. Fans watch for the actors and non fans watch for talent.
What I know is Rebirth is not a sequel. Also Huangyang Tiantian is still a minor.
Same here. If zhuge yue and xing er never get together as husband and wife, i’ll just treat this piece as independent show not related to the novel and princess agent at all. Iam inclined to non/less romantic shows so the fact that the main couple never got romantic wont bother me as much if i just regard it to have no relation to princess agent novel and part 1 of the adaptation.

I dont really mind if they never show intimate scenes on screen, i actually prefer mature relationship with less skin contact and kissing for my fav couples. The problem with rumours on Rebirth isnt just about intimate scenes. I heard they changed the relationship of the main couple from lovers to master-disciple. 😤 this doesnt bode well with the fans of course, since our main couple shouldve lived as a happily married couple with children in a kingdom of their own making. Master-disciple relationship wont lead to this happy ending in the novel.
