Time travel to a universe where you become the step mom

First of all i really like the actress. This is a mini drama with 24 episode that is around 10 mins each . Female lead is an actress and while she is reading her script in the bus she gets transported to another time because of a supermoon. She ends up being the step mom of the Li family. She has three step children, the oldest is a boy and two girls. She is the sole provider for the three kids and they learn to trust each other. The female lead is faced with annoying and scheming relatives trying to take advantage of the female lead and the three kids. The female lead is a bad ass because she was an martial artist actress. She stands up and defends her. and her children .No matter what the evil relatives do they dont prevail. I like that it brings comedy and humor.

There isnt much romance so dont expect it, but that is not the focus of the drama.

Recommend this drama :) give it a try

Simple Life in the Village

This drama is short and simple. It does not elicit any strong emotions, but serves a bit of humor along with warm emotions, which makes it great for those who do not have a lot of time for drama-watching, but want their fix.

Story: The main lead is omnipotent, but that is part of the drama’s charm. It’s a feel-good story about making the best of your circumstances, helping those in need, and having fun along the way. Each episode is its own mini event that is usually solved within the next seven minutes. This makes for a fast-moving series that does not linger on any one event or emotion. Blink and you miss it.

Characters: Chi Yue is an actress, who transmigrated into an old village. She believes she’s going back some time soon, so she doesn’t get attached to anything or anyone, but she can’t just watch her step children being abused or her friend suffer. She uses her knowledge of the modern world and her acting abilities to change the fate of herself, the children, and those she cares about.

Romance: Present, but also not. Ji Hong may be the Male Lead, but he has all the characteristics of a Second Male Lead. He's kind, compassionate, and always ready to help. He also has no chance whatsoever to win the Female Lead's heart. Chi Yue sees him as a friend she can rely on and that is all.

Overall, the drama was a good way to kill a couple hours. It’s a story about a woman solving her problems and taking care of her stepkids. Very cute.

nice and quick piece to watch

Invincible Stepmother (2023) -8/10 cdrama

short minidrama 24eps/10 min +- 3hours watchtime

drama is nice to watch, but its main perk is its watchtime.
Story aint very original its just about actress of historical dramas which sees kids as anoyance. Being transported to past as single stepmother of 3 kids with vile family wanting to get rid of them.
Story goes mostly about how modern woman tries protect herself and kids from all kind of bullying + tries to make money to pay off debt and to live better.
For romance even though they got there some guy to  female lead. There just wasnt enough time to do anything with it.

genre - historical, fantasy, comedy, romance

It's an epic watch

This is the first time in my life that they have given the FL, fight both physical and verbal. Not every day you come across this. Anyway, most reviews have a lot of spoilers I'm just gonna give what i like about this C-drama. 1. The fact that all 3 of the kids aren't related by blood to the FL and she is their stepmother. This drama hit all the right spots in my heart not every day you come across a drama that shows that blood isn't everything and you can also form a family without even having a single drop of the other person's blood. 2. the show maintains the FL fighting both physically and verbally with the other characters. 3. The teacher that basically has a crush on FL is the sweetest ML that i have seen dude isn't some ice prince that is stuck up, he was a genuine character that i liked and he wasn't stupid nor where he possess over FL. I wish they showed the villainess went to court for her crime. Also why is the score so low 7.5 the score should have been a 8.5+ instead because it was really epic. I want more shows like this and the duration should be a bit long like honestly 10 minutes wasn't enough per episodes

Goofy ahh ending.

I couldn't believe I actually binged this show in one sitting. It was almost 4 hours of pure nonsense yet I had this perverse need to see how they were gonna end it. I have never read the original novel but I need to know what crack this author was on. The fact that I even gave this a score as high as 6 is a blessing afforded by the fact that it had my attention in a chokehold for its entire 24 episodes. Because, as it stands, this story is all over the place and the ending was annoying.

I just finished this show yesterday and I am still in shock from the absurdity of that last episode. (Spoiler!) You'd have to have been there to see my jaw drop on the floor when she pulls out a GUN in historical China. I was unable to take that scene seriously at all and even when she was getting all emotional with her friend zoned scholar guy I couldn't pay attention to anything other than the bandit extras that were still flailing on the ground all around them. Oh btw I even joked earlier on before the object was revealed that she asked him to make a gun because of how funny it would be and oml they actually went through with it. I cannot make this up.

I liked that the female lead was capable and intelligent but of course her talents came out of left field. She was a martial artist, top-tier chef, S+ businesswoman, better than a seasoned wet nurse, and investigator on par with Sherlock Holmes. And her love interest felt very undetailed which was sad because he was pretty nice and I liked that she took on the more assertive role in the dynamic. Yet, the relationship is super vague and by the end he just disappeared when she went back to her time. The kids, her older lady friend, and the bitch actress were there, yet he wasn't (unless he was and I'm just blind). I really dislike the endings of "it was all a dream" yet this time I'm confused if it happened or not though? Because I remember seeing her sleeping in the car with a bad edited rainbow spiral outside of the vehicle but that may have just been her dreaming it up to explain the setting in her fantasy.

I liked the relationship of her taking up the role of the daring stepmom for her kids but the pacing really made it confusing how she gained their love that fast and her leaving at the end was sad but I can't even tell if that relationship was real or not. I'm so confused on what emotions are valid after that.

The villains were......something. The most cliche you can possibly get but hey, at least there were extremely aggravating. I wanted that evil mother-in-law to suffer the most but of course the ending leaves a lot to desire. The cousin of the step-kids didn't even seem to ask his father to join the classes and we see him like thrice in total. Him even helping them could have been built up better because it is realistic for a young child to feel guilty but to betray his father and grandmother sporadically felt out of place. Then of course we have whatever was going on with Li Yi. I thought they were gonna make her a sympathetic villain that is only going against Chi Yue because she is guilted by her family but NOPE! She is just pure evil that literally killed her brother and paraded around with his jade pendant on her hip. We don't even see her be put on trial either.

The production was funded by a very small budget and the runtime was too short to really create a gripping story. The music was extremely forgettable and the pacing was extremely fast. So many plot points come out of nowhere because the story doesn't afford them enough time for build up. The ending was confusing and I didn't like it. I was left with that bittersweet feeling but it disappeared just as fast. I was, however, entertained by the intense nonsense and some of the humor was actually hilarious.

So, would I recommend this show? Yes, but only as a time-waster when you have nothing else to watch. The absurdity was entertaining enough for me to binge 3+ hours of it on Youtube. Yes, it is on Youtube!

Have fun. XO
