Pursuit of Jade Episode 26 Reactions
The start was just so funny because everyone was trying to argue whoever gets the punishment, then the princess stepped in, ready to bow, everyone was so stressed out especially the fake Marquis that Gongsun had to step in so that didn't happen lol this show is just way too PEAK LOLI've never had to sit watching a show where I know situations are cringe but at the same time I'm doubling down laughing because it's directed and shown so well that I don't actually feel like it's bad at all (kdramas as much as I love them is soooo bad at this and don't even let me start on jdramas when it comes to cringe acting lol there's also other Asian dramas like... coughFildramascough nowadays that are just so cringe despite acted very well lol) Writing and directing dramas that can be fantastical and still not be cringe is so hard nowadays (outside of Asian dramas, One Piece is the only other series that does it well enough without it being too cringe despite its premise). The action scenes was amazing as always. Fight choreography is pretty top notch. I've not watched a lot of weapon-using martial arts and especially not spears and the butcher knives that Changyu uses, so it's especially impressive when I see her use it in fight scenes. She's so damn cool as a heroine. I'm honestly glad I gave this a chance, I was not expecting to love this show so much as I have! And to think I only really wanted to watch it for shits and giggles coz I was bored out of my mind lmaoCan't wait to watch the next episode! I love Changyu and Xie Zheng's relationship to progress more!

After punishment or no punishment debate, CY have her own fan base in the camp. XZ and CY having good time of breeze. But the most interesting thing for this EP is enemies General POV like they are willing to rescue POW at the same time planning to abandon him. This is the very chilling plot for story progress as our ML and FL summer camp will go anihilition in one strike. But don't worry, CY go to battlefield to replace her hubby YZ , lost butcher cleaver and end butcher era by getting big fish first blood and whoops all XZ lies exposed. The choreography for Epic battle sequence is really great, immersive and XW emotional delivery is very nice .But that didn't justify the whole messy writing of last few ep . Still hooking to story cuz we will have revelation scene in next Ep.

So hard to stop watching this series even though we're being tortured with one episode a day! This was the one we've been waiting for, but then they ended it too soon!!

I don't think I've ever been so proud of a fictional character before. This episode has some fantastic battle sequences! The best sequence was FCY and seeing her "butcher" her opponent... quite literally. I don't think I've ever seen that before, and it was amazing. The FL really knocked it out of the park with the fighting, making it so believable. She has done amazing work in this series, and this is just another example. The ending broke my heart a little, seeing her expression when she finally figured out her husband's identity. I admit I can't wait for the outcome in the next episode (the slap heard around the globe).

The reveal was epically shot. The battle scenes were beautifully executed. Guess that General never thought he’d be taken down by a mere butcher, young girl. Never underestimate a petite woman because they are fierce. PoJ has really become one of my favorites and is one of the best dramas I have ever watched.

Considering this is her first experience in battle, she’s truly impressive. She was trained by her father, who is an elite general, and she’s remarkable. She’s incredibly strong and agile, which gives her an edge in combat. She’s already a force to be reckoned with, and she’ll be even more formidable in future battles.

First Impression
This episode hit hard. The emotional payoff was huge, but it also felt like everything finally cracked open at once.
Episode Thoughts
What I really liked about this episode is that the lesson the ML keeps trying to teach the FL about consequences ends up hitting him right back. He wants her to understand that reckless choices can have serious results, but in the end it’s his own lie that causes the biggest mess. Her actions actually work in their favour too, because by moving Sui Yuanhuai she prevents him from being taken back. And when RP and Mr Sun stand up for her and stop the ML from punishing her, it only makes it clearer to me that keeping her in the dark has done more harm than good.
Once the enemy is pushed into a corner, there’s no avoiding a bloody battle. The ML has clearly planned for a lot, but he still hasn’t accounted for just how far the FL will go to protect him. Because she still believes he’s injured and heading to the front line, she drugs him and takes his place. It nearly creates an even bigger disaster, but from her point of view every decision she makes comes from wanting to save him.
I also loved the quieter emotional beats in this episode. The interaction between the RP and Mr Sun was beautiful. They both clearly care about each other, but their circumstances make everything more complicated. The RP continues to impress me because she carries the burden of her title while still trying to do what she believes is right.
Then the battlefield chaos begins. The ML waking up and realising what she’s done, even slicing his hand to clear his head faster, really drives home how badly his lie has backfired. On the battlefield the FL and the thug boys are completely out of place, but they still push through. They take down the catapult, and even in the middle of all that she chooses to spare the boy manning it. The FL gets hit hard after rushing in to help the General, but she still manages to take down the enemy leader. And then comes the moment everything changes: the ML arrives on horseback, and she finally learns who he really is. After everything she has done to protect him, that reveal lands like a blow.
Character Notes
The FL was the standout for me again. She’s reckless, yes, but every reckless thing she does comes from love, loyalty, and that instinct to protect her people. Her character development has been so good to watch, and Tian Xi Wei was incredible here.
The ML finally has to face the consequences of his choices. His strategy may be brilliant, but emotionally he created this situation by keeping the truth from her for too long. I still don’t see a valid reason for leaving her in the dark.
The RP continues to grow on me. She’s compassionate, brave, and has her own burdens to carry. Her scene with Mr Sun was one of the softest moments in the episode.
Mr Sun was also great here, especially standing up for the FL. And as always, the thug boys may be out of their depth, but their loyalty to her never wavers.
Final Thoughts
This episode was intense, emotional, and frustrating in the best way. The reveal was long overdue, and now that it has finally happened I’m very ready to see the fallout. More than anything, this episode made me feel for the FL, because everything she did came from love and she was acting without the full truth.
Favourite Moment
The moment the ML rides onto the battlefield and the FL finally discovers his true identity. It’s not just dramatic, it hurts.
Trope Check
Secret identity reveal
Battlefield reunion
Taking someone’s place
Protective female lead
Consequences of lies
Mutual pining
War and sacrifice

I loved everything about this episode. It was sweet, touching, bitter, sad, and depressing. The fight scenes were spectacular; my heart raced when the battles began. At the same time, I felt so sad—a war that had just begun but with so many casualties. The soldiers included both those afraid to die and those ready to fight.

Novel-wise, this episode is around chapter 86
Also very good.
Her: My husband can't even lift up a sword, how will he fight in the battle field.
Him: fully lifts her with one had on his injured side onto his horse with him.

That has got to be the most satisfying battle with the FL in action ever. The way she wields those weapons and adapts to the battlefield is just intense. And her exchanging blows with the enemy troop's giant fighter—WOW!!! Peak-point when she actually takes him out with two blows of his own weapon.

Episode 26 really said “laugh first, cry later” and I was absolutely seated for the chaos. The opening was pure comedy gold with Qi Shu and Yin Gong Sun marching into the tent one after another like a tag team of justice, each trying to cancel Chang Yu’s caning punishment, and the reactions from the fake Marquis and the Blood Cavalry generals were priceless. The way the Princess Royal and the Military Advisor kept defending Chang Yu and her Pig Butcher Squad had me giggling, and the final moment where literally everyone turned to Xie Zheng for approval like he’s the final boss of authority sent me into orbit. I love how the soldiers speak about Chang Yu with so much admiration, it’s giving “our girl, our pride,” and I am living for it. We also got that tiny, almost-there moment where Xie Zheng starts to open up, only for it to turn into a “what if” situation again, sir please, how many episodes do you need to unlock honesty mode. Chang Yu being content as Lady Marquis and Xie Zheng looking lowkey happy about it just made his silence even more frustrating. Meanwhile, Yin Gong Sun and Qi Shu finally leveled up their relationship, and being away from the capital really did wonders because feelings were flowing and courage was found. Qi Shu taking the lead with that hug confirmed what I always knew, she runs the show, and Yin Gong Sun’s happy puppy face was dangerously cute. Then the mood quietly shifts and suddenly I’m stressed about Man Di because that scene screamed impending doom. The slow motion glance back, the heavy atmosphere, it felt like the drama was whispering “prepare your tissues,” and I am not emotionally equipped for that. The second half of the episode had me torn between wanting to shake Chang Yu and wanting to protect her at all costs. Her decision to drug Xie Zheng and go to battle in his place was reckless on paper, especially since he is the Marquis Wu’an and the literal backbone of the army, but at the same time it makes sense for her character. She’s a protector through and through, operating on instinct and love, not politics and responsibility. Still, the frustration was real because this entire mess could have been avoided if Xie Zheng just told her the truth. Even then, knowing Chang Yu, she might have still tried something wild to keep him safe, but at least it wouldn’t have risked the entire army in such a high stakes gamble. I was this close to pulling my hair out, not gonna lie. But then the drama said “wait, redemption arc incoming” and delivered one of the most empowering fight sequences so far. Chang Yu going head to head with an opponent who finally matches her strength was thrilling, and watching her rely on strategy and wit to win made it even better. The choreography, the cinematography, everything hit just right and Tian Xi Wei absolutely devoured that scene. The final blow was pure power, like a mic drop in martial arts form. And just when we’re celebrating victory, boom, Xie Zheng arrives in full Marquis armor and the truth crashes down. The realization on Chang Yu’s face when she understands that Yan Zheng is actually Xie Zheng, the Marquis Wu’an, was devastating and perfect at the same time. Tian Xi Wei nailed that moment, and Zhang Ling He’s expression? Dangerous, magnetic, chef’s kiss. That last sequence of her running away, him chasing, and pulling her onto his horse felt so cinematic and iconic, like a scene you just know people will replay. This episode was a full rollercoaster, comedy, romance, anxiety, frustration, empowerment, and I cannot believe it went by that fast. I need the next episode like yesterday.

this episode we continue to see the evolution of chang yu... but particularly in this episode we get what i think is one of the most immersive, epic war scene! we get the squad's (and Changyu's) POV, with all the fear of going to battle. WE GET EPIC FIGHT SCENES for many characters. we even get a powerful humane moment with Chang yu and a soldier. I don't know if that moment was part of the novel, and even so, the director/scriptwriter's choice to add this moment really anchers Chang yu in her morals among all the killing of a battlefield.and of course, we get a beyond satistfying fight scene for chang yu!! She's a natural!! I've seen TW fighting in other shows but this is top tier! We don't even have time to get over that, then we are left with one of the most anticipated cliffhanger for the couple!!!
