The Unclouded Soul
A little mythology about the funny yet frustrating Ancient Demon trio:
Qiong Qi (Winged Tiger)
Qiong Qi was Xiao Yao's big brother figure 10,000 years ago. A powerful demon whose clan worships the Sun God. He is someone who, despite his rugged and fierce appearance, would always respect Xiao Yao's wishes and never force her to do anything she hates.
Qiong Qi is straightforward, headstrong and blunt with his words. His admiration and love for the Azure Dragon (Xiao Yao) have been regarded as just those of a close friend and family member by the latter. :P
(Qiong Qi in Chinese Mythology)
Ao Hen
10,000 years ago, Ao Hen was a cunning demon known for his territorial nature. Xiao Yao tamed him after mediating a conflict between his clan and the Qiong Qi clan, sparking his curiosity and affection for her kindness.
Beneath his cold exterior lies a devoted softie (of course, only towards his crush), but his jealousy leads him to kidnap the human prince, Hong Ye, which alienates him from Xiao Yao and results in tragic consequences. This mistake, however, earns him an unexpected 'friend'—a drinking companion, at least. [See Episode 36] X’D
(Sadly, I'm not sure about the origin of his demon form.. :'D)
Teng She (Flying Serpent)
Teng She is a playful and free-spirited snake demon whom Xiao Yao sees as no more than a younger brother figure. Plus, it doesn’t help that he kept addressing her as “jie jie”.. Lol Teng She is a smart one who plays his cards well while keeping himself off the radar from the Dragon Lord, Xiao Yao.
He did take part in pushing the already injured Hong Ye to more agony, so that the latter gave up his love for Xiao Yao, but stopped after witnessing the human prince’s devoted heart. Teng’s only wish and priority has always been and will always be Xiao Yao’s happiness and well-being, even if that means swallowing his feelings and deceiving himself.
(Teng She in Chinese Mythology)
Among all three ancient demons, Teng She is the most amiable guy who understands Xiao Yao the most. He may act childishly and unseriously about things, but Teng She is someone who analyses his surroundings well. He’s always the first person to take Xiao Yao’s side. And he’s a cutie pie who loves drinking~ X3
[P.S. I may be lacking in my research, but I hope it will be an enjoyable read~ ^^]

Seven bids farewell to TUS on WEIBO :
"The Unclouded Soul" was the first fantasy drama I acted in, and it was also a very "mind-bending" drama to film. It tells the story of my growth after experiencing each event in the present life; from my first exploration back to a hundred years ago, to returning to the present life with the experiences from that hundred years ago; from returning to ten thousand years ago with the experiences of these two lifetimes, to returning to the present life with the experiences of the above three lifetimes (dizzy 😵💫). It can be described as sweet as candy and heartbreaking as Chinese medicine.
In my opinion, "The Unclouded Soul" is not only about the freedom to turn the page as the wind blows, but also about the magnanimity to remain true to oneself despite the vicissitudes of life, and the pure sincerity that remains after countless trials.
Thank you to everyone in our production team (including myself) for your hard work! Because of you, the world of "The Unclouded Soul" exists.
Thank you to the audience who love "The Unclouded Soul." Your support and every moment of empathy you share are the warmest light on this "The Unclouded Soul" journey. You have allowed the characters to continue their vitality and given this story a lasting meaning.
In this story's ending, Xiao Yao and Hong Ye meet again. This time, Xiao Yao probably won't want to untie that red thread, right? If all the previous suffering was the cause, then you should reap the happiest fruit now. After all, as you wished, it's a very auspicious sign! The story begins anew. ♻️ With Xiao Yao's courage, walk towards your heart. No goodbyes, only hopes for a reunion."

Hou Ming Hao Weibo update:
Farewell to TUS and to HY
The King of Demons, sealed for a century, was awakened from a dream. For Hong Ye, *Xiaoyao* is an alternative fairy tale, allowing him to experience various causes and effects in a beautiful world, constantly cycling and rebuilding himself amidst belief and shattering. Whether it's the "beginning" or the "end," Hong Ye always seems to be born at the
wrong time, and his rights and wrongs, gains and losses, are difficult to summarise in a single sentence. In the endless shackles of time, in countless cycles of time and space, he witnessed different races mired in the quagmire of desire, killing each other, so his final choice was one of salvation. Hong Ye briefly experienced beauty and hopes that people will have fewer obsessions and feel more pure love.
No matter the circumstances, Hong Ye's true nature remains unchanged. When in danger, he tries his best to protect his race; when weak, he is willing to rebuild his "home" at the cost of self-destruction. Even when on the opposite side and having lost his memory, he does not need to betray his inner convictions; his instinct for good has already broken through the confusion, guiding him in every choice.
In the desolate wilderness, Hongye might recall the warmth and life he once shared, the time he experienced with love, savouring the flavours of human existence, the four seasons, three meals a day, and the ordinary moments of life. In different times and spaces, wouldn't he also want to simply be himself? Every character has their own destiny; Hongye's regrets remain at the end of the story, or perhaps at the beginning.
Cause and effect, humanity, choices of love and hate… In this kaleidoscope of a world, perspectives differ, feelings differ, and everyone will surely have their own interpretation. I cherish every opportunity to meet everyone through my work. Seeing you empathise with Hongye, feel indignant for him, and discuss his motivations—whatever your emotions—thank you for accompanying Hongye on this brief journey with genuine feeling, time and time again.
Finally, thank you to our Director for entrusting me with the original character Hongye. Your many novel ideas and off-screen exchanges have benefited me immensely.
I'm very happy to work alongside Tan Song Yun (Seven); may we always be "free and unrestrained." I spent two seasons with the entire crew, and I'm so grateful for everyone's dedication!
Freedom resides in my heart, not in my body. Whether in the mortal realm or the Valley of Ten Thousand Demons, there will always be a small utopia for Hongye, a place that will always be missed.
Hongye, this time it's truly goodbye. Goodbye, perhaps, is the best blessing.
(Hats off to @Xm1012 for providing our newcomer Liu Xing Chen's interview)

Liu Xing Chen's farewell on Weibo:
Today, "Xiaoyao" is officially saying goodbye to everyone!
Huanhuan has so much to say~ Time flies so fast. I remember when "Xiaoyao" started filming, I hadn't graduated yet. On days when I wasn't working, I was writing my graduation thesis in the hotel on set. In the blink of an eye, two years have passed. I've gone from a student who hasn't entered society to a new actor firmly on the path of artistic creation. Today, "Xiaoyao" is coming to an end, and there are so many things I want to say… I'm so happy to have met everyone as "Wuhuan" and to have received everyone's love. I've seen people say that I "respond to every comment and am a sincere person," but in fact, it's my luck that you can see and like me. This is my first TV series to be shown to everyone. Before its premiere, I was filled with excited anticipation; after its premiere, I watched it day and night; and at the end, I felt a deep sense of emotion and reluctance to say goodbye…
“Wu Huan, I think the core of this character is simplicity,” was how I summarised the character in an interview. “If you give me a drop of water, I will repay your kindness for thousands of years; if you give me an insect, you are my best friend.” Perhaps his world is just that simple and direct. Good and evil, right and wrong, are not symbolic definitions in this world; they are often the result of people's choices and stances. This applies to humans and demons alike; to good and evil, to love and hate. I am grateful to have met Hei Wu, and even more grateful to have met Xiao Yao and Hong Ye. They taught me so much and changed me so much, allowing Wu Huan, this clumsy bird, to experience the dangers and warmth of the world. Wu Huan doesn't hate anyone, not even Hei Wu, who abandoned him; Wu Huan wants to love more people, even the little demons he doesn't know in the Valley of Ten Thousand Demons. Of course, the role of "Wuhuan" was also a breakthrough and an experiment for me. I never imagined that one day I could appear in a comedy segment. When I saw so many people say they laughed at me, I felt an immense sense of accomplishment and happiness as an actor! In short, I am very grateful to every audience member who saw and liked me. It is your attention and recognition that gave Wuhuan a richer, more vivid character.
Another story I want to share is: "How did I get the role of Wuhuan before I even graduated?" I remember it was late 2023, near New Year's Day, when the assistant director of Xiaoyao contacted me and asked me to help the actors who were auditioning in costume. In other words, I didn't have an audition opportunity at first. As a kind of "supporting actor," I helped other actors audition. During the three-day audition period, Director Xu called me over for a few brief chats. At that time, I didn't realize that the gears of fate had begun to turn. After the three days, I received the news that I had gotten the role that belonged to me—Wuhuan. At that time, I had no aired works, no on-screen performances to reference, and no so-called "market value." Yet, Director Xu boldly cast a complete newcomer with absolutely no experience. Therefore, I want to express my special gratitude to our director, Xu Jizhou. He often says, "Talented horses are common, but discerning judges are rare." I wasn't a talented horse, but Director Xu was a true, discerning judge!
I also want to thank directors Yang Yufei, Qin Ge, and Guo Yong for their guidance and understanding. Back then, I didn't even know what "rehearsing" meant, and I made quite a few mistakes on set. I also thank every actor in my group: Sister Song Yun, Brother Hou, Brother Ye Liu, Brother Ze Cheng… who gave me so much help and advice on acting!
When filming wrapped, I sent Director Xu a farewell message. He said, "The road ahead is long and arduous." On the car leaving Hengdian, looking at the sunset outside, I replied, "I will search high and low!" Yes, the road is long and difficult, but I will walk it step by step.
One question in the interview was, "If you had a choice, would you rather be a human or a demon?" My answer was, "A bird, a bird that hasn't yet taken human form, a bird flying freely in the sky." Whether a swan, a sparrow, a crow, or a falcon, whether it's you or me, we will all have a vast world to soar in.

Episode 36: Teng She babysitting Ao Hen 😆
From love rivals to drinking buddies, Xiao Yao's rejection forged an unexpected bond between the prideful Ao Hen and the playful Teng She. The sight of a tipsy Ao Hen is truly entertaining, especially with Teng She’s amusing attempts to keep him in check!🤣🤣🤣

[but you already are... (ᵕ—ᴗ—) . . . .]
Episode 36: "When dignity is more important than proof"
Ao Hen is suspected of being the culprit behind the theft of the eight demon pearls. To clarify the situation, Xiao Yao inquired about Ao Hen's whereabouts during the attacks on the other demon clans. Teng She disclosed their location and activities at the time, explaining that Ao Hen was heartbroken and drunk, with no time to steal some pearls, much to Ao Hen's dismay.
Don't worry, Ao Hen..., Yao'er believes you 😛
