ONE OF THE BEST CDRAMAS THAT I'VE WATCHED!!!
At first, I was not really interested in watching The Early Spring since I barely knew the actors. The only one I knew was the female lead, who I have seen in other shows a couple of times. But since I was in a Chinese drama slump era, I just played whatever, and without a doubt, it was the best decision ever.I thought this would just be a series that I would watch when I had nothing else to do. But in just episode 1, girl, I was hooked. The visuals of the actors are just an extra bonus. The acting, the cast, and even the styling are perfect. The story started with a girl from a province who chased her dreams to the city without knowing anyone. I loved how they really showed Flora's grit to achieve what she wants. She made me want to believe that everything really works out if you do your best. When you first see her, you can tell that nothing is exceptionally special about her, not her physical appearance or even her school background. That is why the words Tracy used when talking about Flora really fit her character. She said that people with natural talent might shine immediately, but people who work hard will be the ones who surprise you in the long run. Flora started as what you could call a basic girl and became the very accomplished person she wanted to be.
Luke's character was a typical cold guy who is not good with words. It was much easier for him to say the rudest things you could ever think of than to praise you for something. You could even say that more arrogant things come out of his mouth than good ones, lol. But you can tell he really loved Flora from the moment he saw her. There is something special about her that can only be felt by him. I also have to mention the insane chemistry between the actors, especially the way they look at each other. Jing Boran, who acts as Luke, has these intense gazes that gave me the wildest butterflies in my stomach! I loved how his character developed throughout the series. You know that even though the worst possible things come out of his mouth, he means well. Him as a boss is really a dream. It is great having someone who will back you up and push you to do even better, even if he might be more attentive to Flora. No matter how much I talk bad about him in this drama, I could never really hate him. Just like with Flora, there are a lot of things that could have been avoided if they had just talked about it more, but it is part of the plot sooo... What makes them so great is how incredibly realistic their relationship feels. They are not perfect, but they both have their weaknesses and strengths as a couple and as individuals that they must work out to make the impossible possible. I am really happy with how they turned out.
One thing I appreciate about this drama even more is the relationships between the characters. It shines not just with the main leads but also with the supporting cast. People who go away to find their dreams in an unknown city will find this heartwarming. It shows how a single soul alone in a vast city found other people who probably feel the same way, and they became a second family to them. I love the friends she shared a house with because everyone is special in their own way. This also shows that no matter how happy a person looks from the outside, they still experience things that are hard to talk about. I loved how mature and relatable those friendships are. Another person I really liked here is Lumi. Her character made me wish for a senior coworker just like her. She is someone who will support you and value you so much as a friend and a coworker (another season with her and Will plsss).
This series also does not just focus on romantic love. It shows different kinds of love through friends, family, and even pets. At the same time, it addresses important issues in our society. It touches on mental health, the effect of your background on your work, and even the exploitation of women in the working environment. On top of that, you can learn so many things while watching. The characters' words and realizations will somehow just hit you right in the heart, offering genuine comfort and mature life lessons.
I highly recommend this series! Everything is perfect from the characters to the story, and even the OST is a hard YES!!!! My only problem now is having nothing to look forward to watching every night before going to bed huhuuhhuu, after finishing I feel like I'm on cdrama slump again hhhhuuuh
However, as much as I like their chemistry in the series, we can't deny how arrogant and stupid Luke is. If this were real life, I honestly hope Flora wouldn't go back to him. After all the harsh things he said to her? I would literally block him out of my life, lol. Fortunately, this is just a series, so we're allowed to enjoy it and curse Luke out at the same time. Also, I wouldn't really recommend reading the novel before watching the show, since they changed a lot of things—especially Luke's character while they're dating. I prefer to keep the book and the show as separate as possible in my mind.
Ps. May we all find someone like Luke (minus his rude mouth hahahahah)

Best Drama 2026
10/10. Minus NOTHING. ❤️The Early Spring was honestly one of the most beautiful dramas I have watched. From beginning to end, there was not a single moment that felt boring, unnecessary, or like it was there just to fill an episode. Everything had meaning. Everything flowed naturally.
But the CHEMISTRY between the main leads??? Absolutely insane. 😭❤️ Their chemistry was easily one of the best parts of this drama. It felt so natural, effortless, intense and believable. The way their relationship developed, their little moments together, the emotions, the tension, the love… I was completely invested in them.
And the cinematography was BEAUTIFUL. Every scene was captured so perfectly, and together with that incredible soundtrack, it created such a special atmosphere. The music deserves its own 10/10 because it made the emotional moments hit even harder.
What I loved most was the feeling this drama gave me. Waiting for a new episode every single day was genuinely exciting. It gave me goosebumps, made me smile, made me emotional and somehow made my days a little more cheerful. I looked forward to watching it every day.
There was no unnecessary dragging, no boring side plot and no moment where I wanted to skip ahead. It knew exactly what story it wanted to tell and told it beautifully.
The Early Spring wasn’t just a drama I watched. It was a drama I genuinely enjoyed experiencing.
Chemistry: 10/10
Acting: 10/10
Cinematography: 10/10
Soundtrack: 10/10
Story & pacing: 10/10
Main couple: 100/10 😭❤️
Overall: 10/10, minus absolutely NOTHING.
I already miss Taozi and Luan Nian. ❤️

A Mature Story of Personal & Professional Growth
First of all the settings were part of the story and very beautiful. The main story was one of growth, messy, imperfect, sexy. I really enjoyed getting to watch the FL grow in her career and in her ability to set boundaries. The ML had much to grow in communication and vulnerability. The side characters were lovable and their stories were developed just enough. And a dog was one of the central characters, which always adds warmth.I have watched a few other recent and popular Cdramas and this one felt mature with strong chemistry between the leads. I could see myself watching this again as a comfort watch. The end made sense but/and it would have been nice to see more of the resolution, as it felt a bit rushed.

I came for the romance, stayed for the growth?
My first review... NervousThis is going to be a long read, so buckle up. 😂
I just finished this drama and I'm a crying mess. Okay. Okay. Let me start with something random - I love Flora's outfits. 😭
Now, this was one of the most realistic dramas I've watched, and the ending just made it so much more worth it. I honestly think they should have extended the last arc so they could explain things more clearly and let us understand their need for each other better. Maybe 26, 28, or even 30 episodes. But by the end, I was fully convinced.
I would have also loved a wedding ceremony, but the proposal made up for it. 9/10 for me. I was just giving myself one star back for how stressful the journey was. 😂 But coming from the ending, I can say the beginning made sense for both Luke's character and Flora's character.
Starting with Flora, she was someone with big dreams but very little knowledge of how to achieve those dreams. She left her parents' house and a sheltered life, ended a relationship, and came to a new city - the city of dreams, where everyone was struggling for success.
She submitted her application to the supposedly biggest firm with zero skills, experience, or even the educational background for the job, and then tried to rise to the top. She was lucky enough to meet wonderful roommates, and then, from nowhere, someone who was practically a sculpture - someone who could only have existed in her imagination - became interested in her. I think I would struggle to believe it was real too. Hence, her insecurities.
From another person's point of view, it might be incredibly frustrating, but standing in her shoes, you slowly begin to understand her. She tried her best not to get her success from another person. She tried to find her worth on her own. She made a few unconventional decisions, but that's who we are, right? We grow every day.
I think there was a quote in the book that said something like, "We have grown." Something about another year and how we had grown. And yeah, that's what she kept doing - growing and learning.
She encountered so many unfortunate situations along the way. There were problems. She learned. She overcame. At one point, she had to quit. She went somewhere else, changed her environment, and became a much better version of herself - someone she could trust and depend on.
I loved her growth. I loved how she started her business and picked herself up all on her own. She achieved everything she wanted. I could say so much more about Flora, but she's one of the most realistic characters I've come across in a while.
Then Luke.
Starting with my understanding of him, he came from a kind of harsh background. I mean, not financially, but his father was always so strict with him. His mother was quite weak, so he didn't really grow up in an environment where he was given the kind of love he had so much of to give.
All he had was money to give. (Well, who doesn't want money? 😂)
But even his business failed at one point. He was betrayed by a friend. His father saw him as nothing much. So he tried his best to be curt, rational, direct, blunt, decisive, and successful. And he got there.
Like one reviewer said, his typewriter demonstrated how logical and structured he was. Then someone just crash-landed into his life - into his schedule, into his routine, into his entire mode of operation. Someone just crash-landed into everything.
And he had to learn how to let that person in because, for the past 28 years of his life, that was not who he was.
They went around in circles. They agreed to just be friends with benefits, and unfortunately, that line became blurred. It's quite difficult - quite complicated, really - to move from a purely physical relationship into something more. They didn't address it. They just felt like they should go with the flow, and that led to so many situations.
I mean, if these two people could actually talk to each other, so many things could have been avoided. But like she said later, he was blunt and proud, while she was insecure. So they could never say what they actually meant.
They said things they didn't mean, and they meant things they didn't say, and that led to so many problems.
But sometimes we have to get through the chaos to appreciate the calm. Just like you have to get through a biting, piercing winter to appreciate the warmth of the spring breeze and the blazing summer sun.
And that was what their relationship was about.
I love that.
I wish they had delved more into the loss of Sun Yuanzhu. I also loved the friends. I love Lumi. I love Tracy.
And that proposal was just worth it, especially considering how it started. I mean, he said that taking her home wasn't on his way, but he still took the longer route to drive her home. That was everything for me. I mean, it was EVERYTHING. 😭
What more can I say? I think it's such a beautiful drama. You need patience, and you need understanding, but don't give up easily. I mean, it's going to be worth it in the end.
I'll have to finish the book to understand the story even more. But that ending frame was beautiful.
Oh, before I forget - the last episode finally gave me what I wanted from Luke.
Instead of just giving her expensive bags, though he had a good explanation for that later, he cooked for her. He made sure she was comfortable. He cared for her dog - and for her. He supported her business from the stands. He made sure her fridge was stocked.
I mean, yes, that's still spending money, right? But there was more emotion and care behind it.
And really, that's what I would actually require in a man. You can have money, but you need those other tangible aspects. You need the emotions. I need to feel the emotions.
And I was happy that she knew that, despite the past six years and all the harsh words they had said to each other, he loved her. She felt it. She was just too insecure to fully accept it.
And Luke was so proud to admit that he had fallen in love. He was so focused on trying to be the rational, logical person and protecting himself from getting hurt by someone he probably considered small.
He wanted to stay on his high horse for so long. But yeah, he eventually apologized. He saw his faults.
I have to read the book to see how long that process actually took because the drama kind of rushed through that last part. Yeah, I definitely have to finish this book.
My favourite quote for now:
"Their love survived the bitter winter, and finally welcomed the early spring. From there through the blazing summer, they entered the brightest season of their lives. And that warmth will never fade."
"The first time I drove you home, it wasn't on my way. It never was. I took the long way because I wanted to drive you home."
"May you, may I, may all of us be well."
Thanks for staying. 😂
Happy watching. ❤️

A ROMACE BETWEEN THE REAL AND NORMAL PEOPLE
I never liked a dramas with misunderstanding and lack of communication between leads. Not to mention this drama have those things most of the episodes. But still I liked this very much because it all felt real like the mistake all people...normal people do. Misunderstandings, lack of communication, ego etc. Rather than a green flag male lead who is from almost a fantasy world I prefer couple who make mistake and say sorry after realising itIt was beautiful journey with this drama ♥️
'YOU DONT HAVE TO BE PERFECT TO BE WORTHY OF LOVE'

A Romance About Real People, Real life.. Not Fairytales
I really, really liked this drama. What I loved most about The Early Spring is that, for once, I didn't feel like I was watching another perfect, unrealistic love story.
I'm honestly tired of watching dramas where everyone is beautiful, the male lead is basically the perfect man, the female lead is perfect for him, they have one or two misunderstandings and then... happily ever after.
Real life doesn't work like that.
People come with baggage. A LOT of baggage. 😂 We all have our own fears, insecurities, past experiences, expectations and ways of dealing with things. And when two people get into a relationship, they don't suddenly leave all of that at the door.
They bring it with them.
That's exactly what I liked about this drama.
The relationship is messy because the people are messy. They misunderstand each other. They get hurt. They react badly. They don't always communicate well. They make mistakes. And then they have to deal with the consequences and, hopefully, grow from them.
And I actually appreciated the male lead for this reason.
No, I am NOT saying that his harsh behaviour was good or that I approve of it.
But was it realistic?
Absolutely.
People can be difficult. They can be emotionally immature in some areas, defensive, stubborn, insensitive or simply bad at expressing what they actually feel. Loving someone doesn't automatically turn you into a perfectly emotionally intelligent human being.
I work with people around communication and relationships in my everyday life, so maybe that's why these things stood out to me so much. I see how often people bring their own "stuff" into relationships and how complicated it can be for two people to actually understand each other.
So for me, his behaviour wasn't necessarily good.
It was believable.
And I think that's an important difference.
Also, can we please stop pretending that the "perfect man" exists? 😂
He doesn't.
And neither does the perfect woman.
I actually think it's misleading when romance dramas constantly give us this fantasy of the flawless man who is handsome, successful, emotionally perfect, endlessly patient, always says the right thing and somehow knows exactly what the woman needs.
That's not real life.
I'd much rather watch two flawed people trying to figure each other out.
And the chemistry between these two was REALLY good.
Thank God. 😂
Because I have watched way too many dramas where the leads are supposed to be passionately in love and I feel absolutely nothing.
Flat acting. No tension. No spark. Nothing.
Here, I actually believed that these two people were attracted to each other. You could feel the tension, the affection, the frustration and all the things they weren't saying. Jing Boran and Sun Qian really worked together for me.
And I especially liked Zhitao's growth.
She doesn't just become "the woman who gets the man."
She changes.
She becomes stronger, more confident and, most importantly, she learns to set boundaries.
And I LOVED that.
Because understanding someone's reasons doesn't mean you have to accept their behaviour.
You can understand why someone is the way they are and still say: this is not okay for me.
That's growth.
I also really loved what they did with the final episode.
Showing the whole journey of their relationship and allowing us to look back at everything that happened made the ending so much more meaningful for me.
What I loved about the final episode was that they actually showed us that whole journey. Looking back at their relationship and seeing all those moments from a different perspective made his emotional growth even more powerful. He had always felt deeply for her; he simply didn't know how to express it. Watching him slowly understand himself and his feelings, and eventually learn how to express them, was honestly one of my favourite parts of the whole drama.
His emotional maturity and development were AMAZING to watch.
He didn't suddenly become a completely different person. He grew into someone who was finally able to understand what he felt and communicate it.
And I think that's much more satisfying than simply watching a cold male lead suddenly fall madly in love.
Were there moments when I wanted to scream at them, "JUST TALK TO EACH OTHER!"? 😂
Of course.
But honestly... that's also very real.
People who love each other don't automatically know how to communicate.
And that's probably why this drama worked for me.
It wasn't perfect.
The people weren't perfect either.
And that's exactly the point.
Give me real people with flaws, baggage, bad reactions, growth, boundaries and genuine chemistry over another fairytale romance where everyone behaves perfectly.
Honestly, this is by far the best modern romance I've watched this year.
If you're looking for a romantic drama that feels closer to real life than to a fairy tale, I would definitely recommend giving The Early Spring a try.

Psychological
We’re used to seeing cold, emotionally distant male leads soften completely once they fall in love. Early Spring refuses to do that. He remains emotionally restrained even with her, unable to express what he feels, while she struggles to voice what hurts her. His intelligence and competence fascinate her, but his superiority also makes her feel inadequate and insecure. In a way, one cannot express his feelings, while the other cannot express her thoughts.
That’s what makes their relationship so psychologically compelling: they genuinely love each other, but love cannot bridge the gap between two people who don’t know how to communicate. His emotional silence leaves room for her insecurities to grow, while her inability to speak leaves him unaware of the damage he is causing. The tragedy is not that they don’t love each other—it’s that they love each other without knowing how to make themselves understood.

LUKE AND FLORA.....
We were waiting, and they did not disappoint us at all!! OMG, i am obsessed with this drama, especially our Luke and Flora...The chemistry these two have has me on a chokehold, i was literally catching my breath with every single closeness they have.....i was just smiling and screaming like a foolThe club scene in ep 4 where his friends asked him to sing, and he said no, but catches her on the other side, with the extreme eye contact locked in on her, OMG, it's giving that one Ed Sheeran song, ''When I saw you in that dress, looking so beautiful''....., but this one is 'When I see you across the club, smiling so beautifully''...type SHIT
ALso, when she was lost, and he came looking for her, but he crashed, and she came to save him, and then to get out of there, he had to tie ropes around both of them, the tension between them there was soooo SPICY...
The biggest obstacle with everything with Luke is his DAMN MOUTH, bro just cannot say nice words...wdym flora asked what flower suit her, and this mf said ''Green foxtail''( wtf is a green foxtail, went to research it and it was a grass..not just any grass, PLAIN GRASS), like are you high bro?....he finally admitted after that he said that cause he was jealous.....HELP
another time is in ep 13 when he thought Flora was gonna leave with Alex, and then sent a text message calling her ''cheap and obedient'', and then started saying to her face that she has no brain, she is doctile...bro, I almost wet myself...can't he just say nice things for crying out loud...why can't he just say please don't go, i don't want you to......and continue and explain nicely....good that Flora block his ass cause I generally couldn't...tho that didn’t last longer cause he apologised at the bus stop in the next ep
I CAN'T WAIT FOR BREAKUP ARC...i want LUKE TO BEG AND BEG...[ he sure did, yearned for 3 years, could have been more, but he really did]
The biggest obstacle for these two is their communication issues, they communicate well physically, but emotionally they are down the bridge....[this was in the first few eps guys]

Sinfully addictive
I’m enjoying this so much I feel like it’s a sin. It’s so addictive I don’t want to do anything else. I went in really not wanting to expect a lot because sometimes you can get burned right away even from first episode. Twelve in and it’s pretty solid. While it’s not just romance, it’s so sugary and honey dripping of a love story for the ages. Gosh stamp the two leads with chemistry award for life.Good writing to start. It’s simple, nothing so outrageous of office/business dynamics. In fact, what’s so noticeably appreciated by me is the camaraderie of the office staff. Boss may be strict but he’s approachable by his staff, warm fun relations with his top managers. Schemings takes a back burner, and families often disrupting is not a thing (yet?} I think that’s another thing I like in this drama. Focus is the budding character arc, and their eventual growth towards each other.
Good writing needs great acting for execution. Awesome choices. They exude that saying OPPOSITES ATTRACT to a tee. That’s what’s so cute. The acting. Bo Ran somehow knows exactly how to rattle her, his burning looks, slight smiles. Qian knows exactly how to control her emotions, shy, innocent and adorably cute that obviously drives him crazy. The undeniably attraction, that pent up chemistry, to his burning need to see her, is making world viewers crazy. It’s a romance for the ages, exactly written and executed so well, rightly buzzing the world.
The story continues….*****and has now ended.
Final thoughts: absolutely love it. Some highlights I really appreciate about this drama.
* so refreshing not to have toxic office people throwing shades, scheming. I love that relationships of workers, even regular friendships were so normal. Luke’s friends were the coolest, and Flora’s too were her family away from home. Seriously refreshing and I appreciate that so much in writing. Nicely done.
* second chance romance are my favorite tropes and this was well done. The important thing to learn here is for open communication, that sometimes it’s those small things when done wrong can sway a relationship.
* leads were perfectly selected. Bo Ran of course ate his role, but Sun Qian matched him. Loved her character so much, so well executed.
This is a beautiful romance so worth watching and rewatching again and again. Yep, I changed my rating to perfect 10.

This is your sign to watch it
This drama is unquestionably the best thing I’ve watched in recent times. The extensive discussions circulating across online platforms bear testament to its widespread acclaim and immense popularity among audiences. What could have been a conventional trope a story of a boss and a new employee has been masterfully elevated into a high-quality, captivating, and intriguing narrative. The romantic dimension is particularly compelling, owing to the intense onscreen chemistry between Jing Bo Ran and Sun Qian. Their portrayal of romantic devotion is executed with immense passion and authenticity, creating an undeniable mutual attraction. Visually, they form a striking couple. Sustaining such palpable chemistry consistently throughout an entire series is a rare achievement. The scenes are utterly mesmerizing; the moment the lyrics “you’ve got amber eyes, you should know” begin to play, the viewer is instantly overcome with emotion. Furthermore, the intimacy scenes are crafted with extraordinary skill and precision, paying profound attention to detail as the characters' turbulent emotions radiate effortlessly through the screen.
The character performances are impeccable in every respect, seamlessly navigating the arc from enmity to affection. Despite extensive debate among viewers, I did not perceive red flags in either Luan Nian or Zhi Tao. Rather, their relationship suffered primarily from a fundamental breakdown in communication. Flora frequently resorted to silence, whereas Luke, driven by heightened emotion, expressed himself abrasively while concealing his true feelings. Although the constant misunderstandings and unwarranted jealousy could be frustrating, their dynamic was inherently complex from the outset. While some critics argued that Luke unilaterally established a secretive relationship, it was evident that Flora consented to these terms to preserve her professional autonomy. Consequently, operating under these parameters proved arduous for both parties; despite desiring genuine love, they chose silence, allowing unspoken feelings to accumulate and leading to a cycle of conflict and separation. Ultimately, this dynamic offers extensive ground for analytical discussion.
A major strength of this production lies in the director’s ability to maintain engagement throughout every sequence. Whereas subplots involving corporate operations and workplace conflicts are often subject to fast-forwarding, here they remain consistently captivating.
Every episode was watched with profound interest; nevertheless, the journey to Tibet in Episode 19 remains the absolute highlight of the drama. The aesthetic choices, atmospheric depth, and the raw, authentic expression of the characters' emotions are truly unmatched. The actors delivered a masterful performance, conveying extraordinary emotional depth throughout these sequences.
I was equally enchanted by the scene in which Flora unexpectedly returns from her business trip to Luke and Luan Nian, throwing herself eagerly into his embrace, as well as the tender interactions shared between them. Indeed, every scene they share is thoroughly delightful.
I could extol the virtues of this drama indefinitely, and I unequivocally recommend it to all viewers. While the narrative presents an intense emotional rollercoaster, the experience is profoundly rewarding.
The finale is exceptionally well-executed, offering complete gratification for the audience. The narrative arc reaches an elegant and comprehensive conclusion, with the majority of the screen time appropriately dedicated to the primary leads. Rarely have I experienced such immense satisfaction watching the final episodes of a drama. Luan Nian’s confrontation with Zhi Tao’s father was exquisitely humorous, and his marriage proposal to Zhi Tao was nothing short of magnificent.
It is my sincere hope that this series resonates deeply with every viewer who experiences it.

TES depicting a more realistic take in relationship
Everything is perfect. The writing, direction, great casting because every one is good in acting specially Jing Boran and Sun Qian they both showcase and gave life to Luan Nian and Shang Zhitao. [a big us is a good OSTs no skip]Not because we don’t agree and or we sometimes hate the decision of the couple, we will take it personally and give it low rating.
We have to admit their relationship dynamic actually happening in reality.
I hope we all can learn from this story.
