Fun, Quick and Balanced

Comedy? Yep
2 couples? Yep
Sensible and mature? Yes
AND
Kiss scenes? OH HELL YEAHH
LIKE CMON, IT'S TAIWAN WE'RE TALKING ABOUT
Half nude scenes and splendid kisses are a given
I'd watched a lot of edits of this one and when I actually started watching this, I was pretty surprised. It wasn't all serious-gloomy or as sad as all the edits portrayed. There was a great balance of all aspects.
Unconditional love on both ends, not much time spent on the love triangle (barely 40 minutes in the entire show, and it wasn't a big trope or anything, it was nice)
Watched this the day before an exam and it was definitely worth it
I don't think I would have watched this drama in my free time or anything, so I'm glad exams made me watch this
My procrastinating-time was definitely spent well - no regrets. Pretty quick watch, 13 eps of 25-29 min each. Good good good

"I like you just as you are" <3

This one made me MELT; love love love these two - they're both so sweet and real and take such good care of each other, yet make each other stronger at the same time. The story is believable and the acting is excellent as well. I rewatched it the instant it ended.

Second romance is forgettable and has some questionable power imbalances and sex-with-an-inebriated person.

(TW: sex assault in ep 8. And there is no blame here to the victim for their actions immediately following something so horrific - we can all act on impulse when traumatized)

WATCH THIS ONE! It's a keeper : )

A must watch deaf x rich boy pairing

*happy ending for both couples*

I absolutely love the deaf x rich boy pairing in this story! One of the best things about it is how independent Shao Peng is despite his disability. He’s a martial arts expert, an efficient caretaker, and incredibly outspoken about his feelings and boundaries—something I really appreciate.

Zi Xiang is also a fantastic character, and the actor playing him does an amazing job. His expressions, especially through his eyes, are so emotive. I also love the height difference between him and Shao Peng—it adds to their dynamic in such a cute way.

But the ones I love the most? Shao Peng’s parents. They are easily some of the most supportive parents I’ve ever seen in a BL series. Their love and acceptance make the story even more heartwarming.

Now, onto what I didn’t like—the cousin. His character felt oddly written, especially with his intense fixation on Zi Xiang that just gets dropped by the end of the series. The physical aggression, especially the choking scenes, was way too much, and what’s even more baffling is that Zi Xiang just… goes along with it? Honestly, you could remove him entirely from the story, and it wouldn’t change much.

I also picked up on some GL vibes between Shu He and Yu Nong, and I wish the series expanded on that more. In fact, I feel like they could have been a stronger second couple than Feng Jie and Xin Jia. I just don’t get the dynamic between Feng Jie and Xin Jia—it feels more like lust than love. Maybe it was meant to be a timid x domineering trope, but the writing didn’t develop it well enough for me to buy into it.

The resolution in the last episode felt rushed. It lacked impact, and honestly, the story could have ended at episode 11. It felt like they extended it just to wrap up the cousin’s plotline, which wasn’t necessary.

I also wish we got more fight scenes with Shao Peng—he’s just so cool! And more focus on Zi Xiang’s growth, both in love and in his career. That would have made for a much stronger final episode instead of the cousin drama and the vague GL setup.

Overall, this is a great watch! As expected from a Taiwanese BL, there are gang fights mixed with romance, but it still manages to be sweet and unique in its main pairing. The chemistry between Shao Peng and Zi Xiang is off the charts!

Must watch!

An absolute master piece

This is the first Taiwanese bl ive ever watched, and i just have to say that its absolutely majestic. The acting was so good and it felt so natural and believable. The storyline is light and such a comforting one, but it still has some heavy parts, and touches on real life problems faced with same sex relationships, so good one to the writers. I definitely recommend giving it a try.

BETTER than expected

I went into this series expecting nothing much and was only planning on just checking out ep 1. The series glued me on till the very last episode!!!
The chemistry of the two male leads, the acting, and the plot of the story was great.
Shao Pheng was such a dear! I'm not a sign language expert and don't sign, but the signs were so beautifully done! I'm not sure if they were signing correctly, but it looked pretty convincing!
Loved every episode ❤️. And loved the chemistry with the two main couple❤️

The Leads are adorable

A MUST WATCH!
The relationship between the leads doesn't feel forced or contrived the chemistry is so good that it feels very real and organic. The rest of the story feels a bit choppy and the villian arc with the cousin feels a bit forced and incomplete. But i've only taken 1.5 stars away from the story because the love story between the leads gives you the best kind of butterflies without being over the top or cheesy.
What i love is that for a story about a person with disabilities for once it doesn't feel like it's from an ableist lense. Shao-peng isn't shown as some sad sympathetic characters which we see in so many dramas that have characters with disabilities in them, he is head strong person who knows what he wants. How he teaches Zi-xiang to take responsibility of his life without even trying is beautiful. Similarly Zi-xiang is constantly dictated expectation by others no one actually wants to listen to him, he is voiceless even with a voice. By learning sign language not only finds his voice but also helps Shao-peng come to terms with his own past hurts. The shows portrayal of healing is very natural and beautifully done.

Seen and Loved!

This show was a very pleasant surprise to come across!
I was a bit worried whether they'd be able to pull off the disability rep, as that can be quite a difficult subject to tackle especially if your entire cast is able-bodied, and was incredibly happy to see how much care and attention to detail went into it here.
I'm by no means an expert either, but the portrayal of the daily life of deaf individuals was thoughtful and accurate.
I also very much appreciate the switch-up of the "disabled person and their caretaker" trope: here, Shaopeng our deaf protagonist IS the caretaker. He is a trained nurse, intelligent, and capable, whereas our able-bodied protagonist Zixiang often isn't.
Most refreshingly of all the show gracefully avoids the pitfall of having Shaopeng be perfect and all-powerful to prove he's just as capable as anyone else - strong and resourceful as Shaopeng is, he still gets to be a flawed and deeply human character who rails against his limitations in painfully relatable ways.

On top of all that the story is simply FUN - it's silly and sweet with an off-beat humour that works perfectly most of the time. Even cliches such as the accidental fall and kiss are enjoyably tongue-in-cheek and lend the show a zany sort of charm which I loved. I wasn't the biggest fan of the comedy sound effects used, but thankfully those die down pretty quickly after the first couple of episodes, so don't let them put you off!
I have also rarely seen a show which so comprehensively refuses to treat its antagonists as a real problem, and I do very much mean that as a compliment.
The only real complaints I have are that Fengjie and Xinjia's story feels a bit underdeveloped and heteronormative at times and that I wish we had gotten to see more of my beloved chaos lesbians Jessica and Shuhe.

So if you're in the market for a solid rom-com, a show with kick-ass disabled characters, or just a silly good time - look no further! This is the show for you!

A Masterpiece of emotion

See Your Love is one of the most beautiful and touching shows I’ve seen in a long time. The story itself was already powerful, but what really stood out to me was how deeply meaningful it became because of the main character’s deafness. Instead of treating it like just a plot point, the show embraced his experience fully showing both the beauty and the struggles of living in a world that doesn’t always understand you. His silence didn’t make him any less expressive—in fact, it made every gesture, every look, and every quiet moment even more impactful. The way the show portrayed communication, love, and connection without always needing words was absolutely amazing.

There was such care put into the storytelling, and it showed. It wasn’t just about romance, it was about understanding, resilience, and the different ways we show love and are loved in return.

Honestly, See Your Love was perfect. A must-watch.

A beautiful rendition for people with disabilities

“The only thing deaf people can’t do is hear” and these words truly define people with disabilities of any kind. As a physiotherapist I have seen so many shows that misrepresented the emotional difficulties of people with disabilities. Though acting is becoming someone you are not, acting as a disabled person is much harder because the actor has to learn not only the what the person thinks but also learn what the person is unable to do. The ML did this perfectly although I couldn’t help but stare at his beautiful expressive face. Having a nephew who is deaf taught me to focus on their face as a major part of their communication. The ML did the same thing. I give credit to the Taiwanese writers and actors for making some of the best BL and LGBTQ shows and this ranks very high in my opinion.

A Sweet Ride With a Wobbly Landing

See Your Love had me hooked in the beginning. I honestly thought this series had all the potential to be one of my favorites of the year. The premise was solid, the chemistry between the leads was there, and it really felt like we were going to get a thoughtful BL that touched on disability, family dynamics, and personal growth. And for a while, it worked. The first half of the show was engaging, sweet, and emotional in all the right ways.

But then… those last three episodes happened. And wow, I don’t even know what went wrong. It’s like the writers ran out of steam or decided to throw everything at the wall just to see what stuck. Instead of giving us a strong, heartfelt conclusion, they rushed through storylines, tied up big conflicts in the messiest way possible, and honestly left me scratching my head. Taiwanese dramas have been doing this a lot lately, fantastic buildup with such promising storytelling, only to fumble the ball right at the finish line. This one wasn’t as disappointing for me as The On1y One, but it still stung because I had such high hopes.

The relationship between Zi Xiang and Shao Peng was absolutely the best part. Their growth, their struggles, and the way they learned to understand and support each other was genuinely touching. Watching Shao Peng’s perseverance despite his disability and Zi Xiang slowly learning to love someone beyond his own privileged bubble was beautiful. If the series had just focused on that, on the slow burn, the challenges of communication, the insecurities of disability, and the sweetness of love, I swear this could’ve been top 10 material for me.

But instead, we got so many random side plots that felt half-baked. Mafia stuff, family drama, messy sub-couples that I couldn’t care less about, it was like the show was trying to be five different dramas at once. And don’t even get me started on how fast Zi Xiang supposedly learned sign language. My guy went from clueless to practically fluent in what felt like a week. It was giving vibes over logic, which I can sometimes forgive, but it piled on with so many other inconsistencies that by the finale I was just… tired.

Still, I can’t say I regret watching it. The chemistry between the leads carried the whole series, and there were genuinely adorable, heartwarming moments that made me smile. The actors did a great job, especially Jin Yun, his performance felt so natural and expressive that I had to double-check if he was actually deaf. Honestly, the performances deserved a tighter, better-written script.

Love and a man lurking behind a house plant to spy on his deaf BF.

While See Your Love is not going to blow anyone's socks off, it's one of the few BLs I've seen in a hot minute which is trying to do A Thing and is being somewhat successful at it. Not 100% successful, but I can see where they're going. Someone, somewhere in the production cared about this show, and in a business churning out increasing trite by-the-numbers nonsense, I appreciated it.

See Your Love is a rather gentle show, despite the assassins. The organized crime aspect really doesn't matter, so don't be put off by it's appearance in the summary. It felt shoe-horned in because a focus group told them audiences like gangsters. You could jettison the whole subplot without changing the story all that much, so it's easy not to pay attention to it.

What See Your Love is really about is being loved for your entire identity, and how we need to take care in expressing our love, lest we risk warping that identity with expectation. It applies to both our leads in different ways. I am happy to report that both Jiang Shao Peng and Yang ZiXiang are equally developed characters, each with his own issues. No one falls in love with the other at first sight, which I was enormously grateful for. Identity matters here, and the boys take time to know each other before they're in love. For that reason, it's the slice-of-life elements which are important, not so much the Family Business/Power Struggle stuff. Don't worry, it doesn't get a lot of air-time. Much like the organized crime, you get enough to be aware that it's happening and motivating our characters, but the show wisely side-steps a lot of invented melodrama, and keeps the focus on Shao Peng and ZiXiang.

What does get more air time is the topic of disability. Jin Yun seems to do well with the sign language- it looks natural, not stunted. He's doing a great job with his eye-lines. The issues around his deafness run the gamut between ham-handed and poignant. Dude, you have to participate at job interviews, not just stare at recruiters like they asked you to fart on key.
But, Jiang Shao Peng is also a young man stepping into a larger world without the structure of school as a buffer, so I was prepared to cut him some slack. If you're worried; No, they do not 'fix' his deafness with an operation, as I was afraid they would. Yay! I really liked our beanpole of a guy, whose doe-eyes occasionally covered up a savvy brain. He has a really interesting physicality in the show, though I don't know if it was an actor's choice, or a happenstance of this being his first big job.

I liked Raiden Lin's Yang ZiXiang too. He's never a full-on rich boy horror show, nor does he end as a perfect and healed person. It is dumb that he learned sign language in like a week, but I don't think the timeline is all that important. There were several points in the show where it felt like the vibes were more important than linear realism or strict narrative structure. I didn't mind it, though I think it might annoy others. I liked that it carried through to the end; we resolved the major things we needed to, but not everything. It felt a little rushed, and I wish they had tightened it up a bit more, but I'm not mad at it. The show itself acknowledges that they have time; that their lives and issues are ever evolving. Since the show put most of it's roots into the feelings, rather than an entangled plot, it works more than it doesn't.

What absolutely doesn't work is the B couple. Lin Chia Yo as Cheng Feng Jie is great in scenes with Raiden Lin; they have a really entertaining chemistry as petulant boss and strict subordinate, he's good in the business scenes, and bless him, he is TRYING with his B costar. Unfortunately, Lin Yueng Chieh is pretty terrible as Wang Xin Jia. The part is dumb, don't get me wrong, but Lin Yueng Chieh can't act, he hasn't got any charisma, and the chemistry is non-existent. I have the distinct impression that they knew this, and a lot of their scenes were cut. Thank you for having mercy upon us.

Softly funny, with your standard number of drama coincidences, this was a pleasant viewing experience. I never felt wrathful, the female characters are well-written and fun, and there wasn't a ton of cringe to fast forward. Did it get a bit sentimental around the edges? Yeah. It also felt as if it shied away from really criticizing some parental expressions of 'love', but I think there's enough there for you to understand what they're hinting at.

Over all, a solid, unassuming watch.
