A Somber Romance with Excellent Storytelling
Sometimes the greatest love stories are the unspoken ones—the kind that quietly sneak up on us, built from a glance, a touch, and a feeling rather than words. The Taiwanese BL See Your Love, starring Lin Yu as Yang Zi Xiang (“Sean”) and Kim Yun as Jiang Shao Peng, explores love in its many forms, focusing on how it is expressed in subtle, powerful ways.
The story introduces Yang Zi Xiang, a seemingly spoiled and mischievous heir visiting Taiwan for business, and Jiang Shao Peng, a deaf man facing constant rejection in his search for a job that values his skills rather than fixating on his disability. Through their unlikely connection, these two find love, acceptance, and trust, forming a bond that transcends words.

Not Bad!
Okay so at first I was getting scared, I thought to myself “Oh god it’s gonna be bad” because it started off very slow, there wasn’t anything eye catching for me or anything that kept me wanting to watch more but I still gave it a try and continued cause I thought the story could be cute. Thankfully I was patient and continued watching, and it was worth it. The story got better, things escalated, we got shown more emotion, more chemistry, more drama, more action. The part that did it for me, and it just made me go “wow” was when in Episode 9 Jian Shao Peng’s mom collapsed and he was crying in the hospital while explaining how frustrated he is to Yang Zi Xiang, he showed the emotion of helplessness, sadness, anger and frustration so well in a couple seconds, literally amazing acting god. After that the story was very in the middle, we got some action but also cute moments or plain moments. I won’t say this is the best BL show ever, or the best Taiwanese BL show, obviously it lacks a bit, but it wasn’t bad either. I would fix a couple things or add/remove a couple things. I really liked the representation towards people who can’t hear, I really love shows who do that. But I feel like it was a bit over dramatic in some areas and also it felt like the background story of the characters had some holes mainly Yan Zi Xiang’s, I’m the type to not like super long background stories to the point I know every single detail ever, but I feel like for this one it was a bit necessary for some parts. But overall great short show to binge in a day. 7.5/10Was this review helpful to you?
DON'T SLEEP ON THIS BL GEM
See Your Love isn’t your typical BL series. It’s refreshingly different, especially with its deaf representation, which you rarely see in the genre. The story follows Shao Peng, a deaf and mute guy who’s eager to land a caregiver job, and Zi Xhiang, a rich and laid-back guy who ends up hiring him. It’s a fluffy series with just the right mix of comedy and a bit of action thrown in. What hooked me was how engaging the first episode was, I was instantly invested. Honestly, I’m shocked this show is so underrated. A lot of BL fans are definitely sleeping on this gem.
The chemistry between the leads is next level. Their connection is undeniable, even through subtle stares and small gestures. The acting? Spot on. Even the side couple is adorable and adds charm to the story.
Shao Peng’s portrayal as a deaf character is really convincing. And while Zi Xhiang starts off as a so-called “useless rich kid,” I genuinely admire how he puts in the effort to learn sign language just to communicate better with Shao Peng. That’s not easy, and it says a lot about his character. He even starts trying harder at work, all for Shao Peng. Total green flag couple!
The kisses and intimate scenes? Super natural, with zero awkwardness.
There is one scene that really hurt to watch, when Zi Xhiang says some harsh stuff to Shao Peng. It was heartbreaking, and honestly, I wish he hadn’t gone there. Being deaf isn’t anyone’s fault, and the worst part? No real apology.
Also… am I the only one confused about the cousin drama? Like, he wants to take over the family business but is also trying to block Zi Xhiang’s relationship with Shao Peng? Dude should be thrilled Zi Xhiang has no interest in the business. The logic just isn’t logic-ing.
Zi Xhiang’s dad against with their relationship but it wasn’t really explored in depth, and in the end it’s unclear whether he gave in or still does things for them to break up.. On the flip side, I absolutely adored Shao Peng’s family, they were so kind, warm, and supportive.
If I had to point out one downside, it’d be the excessive flashbacks. With only 27 minutes per episode, the constant flashbacks felt a bit much. They could’ve used that time to move the plot forward instead. I would have give this a 9/10 but the excessive flashbacks made it choppy, so I gave it 8.5/10.
Still, See Your Love is meaningful, easy to watch, and never feels dragged out. Definitely a hidden gem worth checking out.

So good
I had my doubts about this series at first and didn't really think it was worth my time but now I AM SO MAD I DIDN'T WATCH IT EARLIER. It is so freaking cute!!!!!!! I love the main couple so much! The height difference was height differencing, both the characters were cute as hell, and I LOVE how they communicate with each other without speaking any words. LOVED their story from beginning till the end. Even though it had some romantic cliques but it was cute rather than annoying. But now the not so great part. I didn't really vibed with the second couple well and wished their scenes was even more short than it already was. The gangster boy was literally so useless,he literally didn't help out with anything. He was just a romantic interest for the second dude. Also the villain is really a waste of space. His reasons for hating Sean was so stupid. Like bro,you already got what you want, why do you still have a grudge on him. How was THAT any of his fault. Actually you should be grateful that he helped you. Lmao, all this grudge for nothing. Welp besides these two things that bothered me. The series was so good. Good plot, good characters, good chemistry, good make out scenes and I mean REALLY GOOD make out scenes. A solid 8.5/10.Was this review helpful to you?
Lovely series, I need one more episode
Jin Yun is a great actor, lovely, innocent but always confident. Great series to know a bit more about love under all circumstances, basic plot but very well acting and directing.Just, I lack one more episode, for some details to resolve or get more clear, but it is kinda obvious that the protagonists got at the end more mature, self-aware and more looking ahead, so the next steps are sure to happen, however they didn't happen clearly.
The expected romance, yeah is predictable, but it is happening slowly, more realistic like. It's nice to know so much about the psychological background of the characters.

Crappy 'villains'. Good love story
If you want to watch this series for the love story that is between Yang Zi Xiang and Jiang Shao Peng- I say go right ahead. Their story was told so beautifully that you will not regret it. If you are here to see the people who stood in the way of their happiness, don't even bother. They have like three villains (give or take), and all three of them just felt flat. I guess that's the power of the boys love, as they were able to overcome these hurdles so easily, as love for each other was the answer. It can also be said that Yang Zi Xiang's dad was not really a villain—he did the things that he did as he was looking for the best interest for Yang Zi Xiang. The secondary male couple was, of course, their scenes stole from the show every time they appeared in this series. I just wished that we were able to get to spend some more time with them. Also, there is a hint of a GL couple (or the beginning of one) in this series, as the girls were not able to break up the main couple.
All in all, it was a good watch, and I am glad that I decided to give it a watch.

A gem that seems under-publicized
I really love the main couple in this BL. Although there are small parts of the plot that seem a little under-developed and even clichéd, the main story of the main characters meeting each other and the development of their relationship is done very well.Jiang Shao Peng, one of the main characters, is a person with a disability, and I'm glad that the disability is portrayed with positivity without denying the problems faced by people with disabilities. The title, See Your Love, alludes to the fact that Jiang suffers from hearing impairment (and is unable to speak)--he literally has to rely on his sight, either through sign language or through actions, to understand that Yang Zi Xiang loves him.
On the surface, Yang is a lazy nepo baby. Thankfully, though, he is not portrayed as an insufferable scion. It is somewhat clichéd that he is being forced to take over the family business and enter a political marriage. Nonetheless, he comes across as a relatable character who is neither idealized nor hyperbolically obnoxious.
See Your Love is ultimately a feel-good BL that succeeds in what it intends to do. The side BL couple are adorable in their own way, but they don't overshadow the main couple. What some may dislike, however, is Yang's fiancée appearing and trying to break him and Jiang up. She doesn't end up being too evil, but the trope may irritate some people.
This is probably one of the best Taiwanese BLs in 2024. Although a lot of BLs feature more unconventional plots nowadays, few come close to See Your Love in making me feel the love between the characters and start rooting for them.

I love the consistency!
This was so refreshing, I didn't expect this to be so good. I'm glad that they did a new story unlike the other BL with the same plot and etc.The two main couple was such a cuties! Their height difference is everything and they both look so freaking handsome. I didn't expect how small Zixiang is after he met Shaopeng.
I love how consistent the director/writer of this series, even in Shaopeng's POV they did't use a voice, instead they show up text with plain background and I really love that. However, there were still some dull moments and the kissing scenes was kinda repetitive hahah the time they started kissing, they start to kiss to the following episodes, tho some of them I think a hug was enough to avoid cringe feeling. I just hope that the pacing wasn't too fast. Nevertheless, It is still a good drama with interesting plot and characters. Indeed, Taiwanese BL was a masterpiece.

I loved their chemestry
This is my favourite BL drama of all time. Since the first chapter, I was hooked. For me, Little Boss (I liked Sean's nickname) and Shaopeng's relationship was the whole plot of this story, and it was so wholesome and beautiful. I liked how Shaopeng was the reason Sean's character evolved and changed. He went from an angsty teenager adult who wanted nothing to do with his family responsibilities to a man who actively decided to chase his happiness, and all this because of Shaopeng.
One of my favourite scenes was when Shaopeng broke down in tears and poured his heart out to Little Boss (what he said before was an asshole thing to say, no excuses) about his frustrations and him wanting to be "normal." Seeing him so vulnerable for the first time (and then crying on Sean's arms) was so crude and full of emotion. I think that scene showed a new face of both Little Boss and Shaopeng, Little Boss' emotional awareness and Shaopeng's vulnerability, and it also showed how their characters fit/complement each other.

Love, Language, and Lingering Looks
"See Your Love" is a Taiwanese romantic drama that thoughtfully balances lighthearted charm with moments of emotional depth, offering a unique love story that highlights the importance of communication—both spoken and unspoken. At its core, the series follows Yang Ji Xiang, a wealthy heir sent to Taiwan for business, and Jiang Xiao Peng, a hearing-impaired caretaker who unexpectedly becomes his lifeline. What starts as an uneasy partnership evolves into a tender romance, enriched by a narrative that delves into trauma, healing, and the complexity of human connections.
The Strength of the Leads
The standout feature of this series is undoubtedly the chemistry between Raiden Lin (Yang Ji Xiang) and Jin Yun (Jiang Xiao Peng). Jin Yun’s portrayal of a hearing-impaired character is so authentic that it’s easy to believe he shares his character’s condition. Lin complements him brilliantly, and their on-screen connection is palpable. Their journey from strangers to lovers feels organic, with each actor bringing layers of vulnerability and strength to their roles.
Supporting Cast and Subplots
The supporting cast adds texture, particularly Lin Chia Yo’s Cheng Feng Jie ("Jonathan"), whose witty banter and camaraderie with Ji Xiang provide much-needed levity. The secondary couple, while charming, doesn’t get enough screen time to fully develop, leaving their story feeling rushed and under-explored.
Themes and Representation
One of the series' greatest strengths is its representation of the deaf community, a rarity in mainstream media. Xiao Peng is not a helpless stereotype but a resilient and multi-dimensional character. The drama also touches on subtle biases faced by people with disabilities, though these themes sometimes feel under-utilised, serving more as a backdrop than a fully fleshed-out commentary.
Where It Falls Short
The pacing is uneven, with a playful, almost silly tone in the earlier episodes clashing with the heavier drama later on. The finale, in particular, feels rushed, with unresolved conflicts and a somewhat implausible resolution. Subplots involving assassins and business rivalries feel tacked on, detracting from the more compelling personal struggles of the leads.
Additionally, the frequent reliance on near-kisses, prolonged stares, and melodramatic flashbacks sometimes borders on cliché, while side characters like the fiancée and Xiao Peng’s parents remain one-dimensional.
The Heart of the Story
Despite its flaws, See Your Love thrives on its emotional resonance. The love story is heartfelt, and the leads' efforts to overcome their personal traumas and find solace in one another are genuinely moving. The series shines in its quieter moments, where small gestures and sign language convey more than words ever could.
Final Thoughts
If there’s one thing I would tweak about See Your Love, it would be giving Shao Peng a chance to showcase his Taekwondo skills in the final episode. It would have been a fantastic way to surprise Jonathan’s men and emphasize that Shao Peng is far from an ordinary person with a disability. A quick, action-packed moment could have highlighted his resilience and strength, adding an extra layer to his character and giving the finale a bit more punch—literally! It’s a small touch, but one that could have made an already memorable story even more impactful.
See Your Love is a heartwarming, if imperfect, drama. Its strengths lie in its leads’ chemistry, its meaningful representation, and its willingness to explore themes of connection and resilience. While the pacing and subplots could use refinement, the series offers plenty of laughter, tears, and feel-good moments to satisfy BL and drama enthusiasts alike.
It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s a solid, enjoyable watch—particularly if you binge it. If you’re looking for a love story with depth, heart, and a touch of quirkiness, this one’s worth a go.

UPDATED: cute, but ending was rushed
UPDATE Jan 8: I think my initial concerns proved valid. There was a lot happening and the pacing wasn't spaced out to properly address everything. The ending for one couple ended up rushed, a few plot lines were not really resolved and left open ended, and the one that was actually closed felt forced with a main antagonist getting a personality/motivation flip after one conversation. Still it was cute and I did like the main couple. I just think it could have been better if it had more time. Or better used the time it had.I am glad there was no sign of the noble idiocy trope. 🙏
ORIGINAL REVIEW AFTER EPISODE 7: Let me start with what I like. I like both main characters. They're both pretty competent and their motivations make sense. I like that while one ML is deaf/nonverbal, he is not weak or bitter. And while it shows the obstacles someone might face with a hearing impairment, it also isn't really made out like we should pity him for it either. Like, it's not a sob story. He is working hard to find his niche and he knows what he wants to do. Like, it's not really portrayed as an obstacle for him. He isn't letting it interfere or prevent him from doing anything, it's just that the mindset of others that is getting in the way.
I also like that while the other ML seems like he would be the typical spoiled, rich guy we've seen more depth to him. I actually feel like he's sort of the opposite of the other ML. Zixiang had so much more opportunity and people were willing to set up him up to succeed, but he had no sense of direction or purpose. While Shaopeng didn't have the same opportunity or connections, but had a clear purpose. So, it's kind of interesting to see them together and it feels like it will be nice to watch them grow. I love it when couples basically bring out the best in each other and I feel like this couple could do that.
The second couple I don't like as much. Their first meeting/"time" was suggested to be like Kla/Techno's first "hookup" in Love by Chance (i.e. Kla SAing Techno while Techno was wasted, then basically lying the next morning and saying Techno assaulted him). Though, he hasn't confirmed it, so it might just be him lying to mess with his head. I don't know. It's a bit cat and mouse, but the mouse is too dumb at the moment to recognize he's a mouse. It has potential, but will it actually get to reach it with so little screen time left? And that leads to my biggest issue.
To sum up my biggest issue so far, it feels like we're going nowhere slowly. I'm 7 episodes in and I feel like we could have gotten through the same amount of material in 3 episodes, without even really cutting any major content.
Kind of but not really spoilers up to 7: Episode 1 could have had everything from their first meeting to hiring him as a caregiver. Episode 2 could have had him seeing it was nice to have someone take care of him, but still sneaking away and ended with him getting caught. Episode 3 could have been him sharing his back story and them starting to bond as he learns sign language to communicate with him. Meanwhile, that's basically where they are at in episode 7. And the second couple didn't even meet until episode 4.
These things would be fine if this was like 20 episodes. Or even 16 hour-long episodes. But at 13 episodes at approx. 25 minutes each, we're already more than half way through and while like half an episode was just showing one of the MLs involved in community theatre, we haven't had a confession yet from either couple. And next episode shows some random woman showing up and buzzing around Zixiang. and we already have Shaopeng's childhood friend who may or may not like him (I lean towards no, seems a bit sibling or former couple turned friends, but she is inspiring jealousy either way). And aside from the romance itself, the cousin/brother guy is still mostly unknown, there are people actively trying to kill one of the MLs (one of which seems to now be living with him), and he still has to work out his issues with his dad and he has to follow through on his promise to get other ML hired. Like, it took 2 episodes to hire Shaopeng, 2 episodes to lose him, and then 2 more to get him back and that is just as his caregiver. How is everything going to be resolved in that same amount of airtime?
I'm worried they'll like get together at the end of episode 10, have one cute episode (11) before we get the classic noble idiocy ("I'm breaking up with you for your own good") break up in 12, then everything will magically resolve in episode 13 without any real explanation. Everyone just changes their mind and decides to be a better person instead of a villain. Like in Why R U, how dad goes from threatening him to breaking up with his son and then one brief angry conversation with his son later and dad's on a video call like "psych! It's all cool. Sorry I threatened to like ruin your life or whatever. Have fun dating my son. I approve now." I just don't see how (with the time left and current pacing) they can resolve everything cleanly.
The pacing feels a little soap opera, but the length is like a mini-series. And I feel like one of those needs to change.
