First Taiwanese BL and it did not disappoint.

I did not know what to expect coming into this show, as I started watching after seeing a vid of one of the NC scenes, but my god I fell in love with the show and the characters in the first 10mins. By the end of the first episode I was hooked.

The story and the characters were portrayed amazingly. Did I wish the episodes were longer and that the story didnt end where it did? Yes.. Which is why it gets 9 and not 10 stars. Will I watch it again? Absolutely.

It is a rom-com, heavy on the comedy, with witty lines, and humourous characters and the different dynamics seen. It is true fluff with only 1 or scenes with any real drama that is not followed or has humour running through it.

I cannot recommend this drama enough.

Exactly what I needed

As I was looking for a light-hearted, diverting yet not overly cliché ridden BL-drama to watch, I stumbled upon "See your Love" quite early, and am so glad I found it. I don't have much experience with LA BL-dramas yet, but feel like this was definitely on the better side of things - if a light-hearted drama where you can leave your brain at home yet feel with the characters is what you're looking for.

Most important to keep in mind is that, despite having around 13 Episodes, each only lasts 20-25 minutes, so there isn't much screentime to work with. That considered, I loved the depth the characters, especially the main characters, got, as well as their character development. I was not prepared for that.
Then again, I was prepared for the "plot" and all the side characters to be lacking screen time and hence "proper" development. While I understand the attempt to further elaborate certain sides of the character's personalities, I am sure that could've been achieved differently - especially towards the end, where a couple things did feel a bit rushed and over the top.

The music did not feel too fitting and especially in a series with one character being deaf would have better been left out at times. It wasn't particularily bad, just not used skillfully.

The disability is displayed comparably well, considerate and empathetic, but most certainly not entirely realistic (the amount of lip-reading superpowers involved alone was questionable...). I advise to appreciate the effort put into a realistic demonstration of being deaf, while not taking it as real-life advice in that regard.

The comic elements might as well be seen as over the top, but it was exactly what made it hilarious and easy to watch amidst big emotions. The chemistry between the characters was great and didn't suffer from the comedy at all. I would have prefered more screen time for the plot and characters instead of fanservice and showing skin, but as these scences were done well too and the chemistry didn't get lost, I didn't mind it either. Instead, I got exactly what I needed. Something to laugh about loudly, something to smile, something to emphasize and something I could quickly watch in between or binge for an evening to relieve some stress.

Amazing

I have a soft spot for Taiwanese BL, somehow they succeed in making them very light and comforting.

This one is no exception, it's very light, despite having it all, drama, romance, comedy, a little bit of action too, even deep messages and trauma if you want, all whole being very short and entertaining.

Acting wise it's ok, average, don't expect some ground shaking performances, they did well enough to make it watchable and in some parts ever very enjoyable.

The story is simple, it has some very silly moments and also some deep emotional ones, Overall you can't take it too seriously I believe that's what it's all about, to show depths within the story without being too dramatic.

The few things I didn't like were unavoidable, they are literally in every Taiwanese BL I've ever seen, like shoving every actor ever acted in a BL into the series, be it a cameo or a small role,
you have BL in your résumé, you're automatically in!
Underdeveloped story and very marginalized side characters, with many illogical moments to raise an eyebrow for.

So simply put to enjoy this you have to shut your mind completely, and I have to admit this was very entertaining to me, I loved the second couple a lot and I wanted to see more of them, sadly they had little interaction except for like that last 2 episodes maybe.

If you love Taiwanese BL you'll love this one~

Lovely, cute and touching Romance, but with an unnecessary gangster plot

I was curious about this highly rated Taiwanese BL (MDL rating 8.7) and wanted to check it out. There have been dramas about those who are hearing-impaired, so the challenges that Jiang Shao Peng faces are not uncommon. But the pairing of two different professions of the leads is fresh and new, and quite interesting.

The best part about “See Your Love” is the romance. The chemistry of the leads is great and their romantic story is nicely written and developed. I enjoy their honest and lovely communication of not just feelings but of their past and present challenges. They understand and support each other, and there are plenty of kisses for us romance lovers. Both male leads are likable and complement each other well. It’s not a surprise that the more outgoing Sean professes his love first. But it is a pleasant surprise to see the more shy Shao Peng to be quite assertive in his PDA. I am not sure how accurate the sign language is, but both Sean and Shao Peng convince me that they know what they are doing. I love their joint signing in the closet. It was really romantic and shows that they are perfect for each other.

The secondary romance is cute as well, but I think it could have used a little more screen time and more development. The other two ladies are there to advance the plot, but really don’t make a strong impact on the main story.

3 of the 4 leads are newcomers and their acting performance is pretty good. The emotional scenes, especially the hospital scene by Shao Peng and Sean , moved me to tears. The lovey-dovey scenes bring a smile to my face and the sexy scenes are shot well. I also love Shao Peng’s parents. They are so loving, supportive and hilarious. Unfortunately, I am not sure who did the hair and makeup for Nat Chen, who played Yang Zi Cheng. He has the worst makeup (those eyebrows!!) and looks like an old man. He was so cool and handsome in “Kiseki: Dear to Me”.

Despite really LOVING the main romance, I cannot objectively give this drama a rating higher than 8.5. The over-the-top gangster plot is so unnecessary. A cousin acts like a gangster to ‘fight’ for something he never really needs to fight. The animosity is unwarranted when they could have been brothers supporting each other. The appearance of Sean’s dad is anti-climatic. Does he really need to show up for those few minutes and then disappear? Why even waste those few minutes when there’s no follow-up or resolution.

I recommend this Taiwanese BL especially because the romance is so lovely. I laughed, smiled and cried tears of joy and sadness. For a drama led by new actors, this is a great watch.

p.s. Don't forget to stay for the ending scenes after the credit in the last episode.

unexpectedly good!

I didn't expect to like this one so much, but I loved it! I binged all 13 episodes in one sitting and didn't even notice the time go by.

It starts out a bit silly and there's a lot of cliché moments, silly antagonist, some uneven pacing of the story and I don't know if I just missed the explanation or it just wasn't clear enough, but I never understood why Shu He lives with Shao peng's family.

Putting those minor details aside it's such a fun watch, It's cute, wholesome, funny, touches on some realistic issues and deals with disabilities in a very respectful way.

The chemistry between the leads is absolutely perfect and the second couple is hilarious seriously I couldn't get enough of them. I might be overrating this one with a 9 out of 10 but I had so much fun watching that I just can't rate it any lower.

Actors kinda saved the plot tbh

The story begins with Zi Xiang. At first glance, he seems egocentric, but later he becomes the sweetest, most caring man in Shaopeng’s world. Zi Xiang's father wants him to take over the business (Zi Xiang becomes a nepo baby), too selfish to consider his son’s feelings. Zi Xiang is not interested in taking over the family business and wants to go his own way to follow his passion, but he also doesn’t want to disappoint his father.

Then we have Shaopeng, a young deaf and mute man who is desperately searching for work but is repeatedly rejected because he is not like others. What a beautiful character Shaopeng is, strong and determined, yet it's completely okay to express one's weaknesses as well. His parents had arranged lessons for him when he was younger to communicate better, and they tried to get him to speak. This led him to believe that he had to be a normal boy, without a disability and that he couldn't express his feelings because he didn't want to worry his parents. Shaopeng doesn't want anyone to look after him because he doesn't want to be a burden on anyone.

The two boys come together as their feelings and experiences intertwine beautifully. Shaopeng cares for Zi Xiang, and Zi Xiang cares for Shaopeng, each in their own way, but with good communication. I thought it was really cute that Zi Xiang learned sign language specifically for Shaopeng. You do everything for love, right?

The second couple, Feng Jie and Xin Jia, was fun but less engaging. Who lets their kidnapper into their home for a small scratch on the nose? Hilarious! He should have appreciated the chance to stay in the house more because I was really surprised when he said he wanted to stay longer without even asking Zi Xiang. I also wasn't a fan of sex under the influence of alcohol. They were cute together, though; I had hoped to see more of them.

The female couple felt a bit forced since their storyline was spread over just two episodes and didn't come across as believable because it seems unlikely that everyone is in same-sex relationships. Their story would have worked much better with more time.
The whole drama with the cousin could have been sorted out way more easily if they had just talked it out instead of trying to steal the family business and trying to hurt Zi Xiang. In the end, the cousin wanted to see who Zi Xiang cared about... and he did this with a poorly executed mafia scenario. But the cousin would get the business anyway because Zi Xiang stayed in Taiwan, so what’s the deal?

Wow points: The actors delivered a great performance! I was amazed when (almost) everyone could do sign. Once again, the portrayal of sign language felt so realistic to me, WOW. I want to say everything at once, but I can’t put my words into one sentence, so I’ll keep it to myself for now.

Overall, I give it an 8. I found myself giggling in bed at times lol.

A sweet series with a lot of things to learn!

See your love showed us so many aspects and was interesting at the same time.
The characters were funny, entertaining and the actors played their roles really well.
For example, I really liked Jiang Shao Peng's parents!
But the main roles were amazing too.
The story was interesting (I've never watched a series like this) and had some surprises.
The music was good.
All in all I would watch the series again.
It was so cute and I learned some important things from See Your Love.
Some parts of it were really realistic and showed
what some people have to go trough.
I hope more people will watch See Your Love and hopefully learn something like I did🫶🏻

Love can be seen in any forms

A well-executed love story with key takeaways that love can be felt despite the hindrance that the other party has or vice-versa. They have fascinated me since the first episode; their good looks, heartwarming storyline, and acting performances are cleverly emphasized.

There was this dramatic scene on EP09 when Jiang Shao Peng’s mother was rushed to the hospital. The way they convey how Shao Peng keeps his emotions all throughout himself as a deaf person is excellent. It was a peak moment for him to release the anger inside him and show his frustration for not being able to speak. The exchange of lines, both in sign language and with the spoken script, was deserving of a big round of applause. This is my favorite scene as it showcases how great the two main leads are as an actor.

Even the side couple never disappoints. I adore their scenes as it was chaotically cute. The chemistry between both couples is superb. We may not get the full approval from Sean’s dad at the end, but I think we can conclude that his dad cares a lot about him that much. After all, the finale has already given us a happy ending for everyone. A semi-light BL that delivered a perfect portrayal of how we can define love and express it in any form of communication.

Once more YouTube fishing successful hook me into this drama. Haha... In the end I'm really glad I'm watching this. Simple yet heartwarming story.

Story about Yang Zi Xiang (ZX), a son of a businessman, who looked like a useless 2nd generation who just like to have fun with all daddy money. Deep down ZX is just eager to escape from his familial duties, cause he feel his place is not there & his brother, Yang Zi Cheng, is more fit with the role. And Shao Peng (SP), a young man who are deaf & mute.

Our story start from the moment ZX is sent to Taiwan by his dad for business negotiations but is immobilized by a sniper attack en route. He persuasively asked Feng Jie (FJ), to employ SP as his caretaker, hoping to seize the opportunity to flee for freedom. At first SP hesitant to accept the job, cause he doesn't like ZX. But frustrated in job seeking due to his deafness and muteness, he finally accepted ZX offer.

Later when SP discovers he's being used by ZX, SP angry & decided to leave. ZX felt guilty yet feel attracted by SP genuine care, decided to apologize & asked SP back to take care of him. When SP decided to hear ZX reason & be understanding about the reason later, SP expresses his empathy for ZX & decided to stay & take care of ZX.

Gradually, ZX is getting more and more attracted by SP's genuity and tenderness, particularly moved by his optimistic facade that masks his anger and insecurity about his deafness and his doubts about love. And SP who also moved by ZX vulnerability & ZX honest feeling for himself, slowly but sure feel something different too for ZX.

And when ZX & SP try to understand and accept their feeling for each other, the other trouble comes in the shape of ZX's fiancé & all the misunderstanding start to take its shape. So, how in the end ZX proof his feeling is real to SP & how their relationship begin after this...

That's pretty much the story without giving any spoilers. Now what I like & don't

What I like:
+ The chemistry between ZX & SP
+ The sign language. Oh I love finally there's someone who really appreciate sign language & decided to make drama with it.
+ The good family of Jiang's family. How supportive SP's parent for their relationship.
+ The cute 2nd couple, FJ & Wang Xin Jia.

What I don't like:
- The ending once more feel like hanging. I really hope we get the scene with ZX's dad really give his blessing than just hinted like this.
- ZX & SP relationship feel rush. It just like they suddenly be in a relationship.

Overall this like I said in the beginning, simple yet heartwarming story.

Charming

There was just something about the guy who played the deaf kid that was so incredibly endearing that it was hard not to love him. He never came off as a victim, and until I watched behind the scene stuff, I had no idea that he could speak or hear. If you just watch the show, you will be convinced that this kid is deaf. Originally, I thought it was weak on story, but then I realized that it wasn’t weak, it was just completely genuine. This is a really good show.

A beautiful story

First I started to watch it without any expectations because I was bored
But damn I was invested...the story is beautiful and correctly placed with all the right music
I loved it so much.. didn't expect anything but it was a pleasant surprise.
No over the top drama, cringeness, but only a beautifully done story
The acting was again very good and the cinematography and direction too!

A very good watch which will make you both laugh and cry

Give it a watch!
