Reminds me of Brewing love, but better

I have been waiting for this one for a while now. It's finally here and I couldn't wait to start.

At first it seemed too much like Brewing love, which I only finished because of Chanhwi. There's no fantasy element, there's potatoes instead of beer but other than that it's very similar. The first episode wasn't very good but I gave it a chance because it's the introduction we have tonget tonknow our carachters before the fun begins.

Episode two took of and I could not stop laughing, This show is absolutely ridiculous, full of clichés and absurdity. The male lead is so unlikeable the female lead is so loud and over the top but it just works. It's not to be taken seriously just sit down and have a laugh. It's dumb fun and I will continue to enjoy it as such.

A little update after watching 6 episodes it's becoming sillier and sillier, episode 5 made me laugh so hard my belly ached.

I understand why people aren't liking it it's just a dumb shutdown your brain and watch kind of drama and the humor is very stupid which is not for everyone and it's OK.

I finished the whole thing today and it was Ok overall, it just kept getting dumber and dumber as the story progressed with the last scene being so stupid it was cringy.

There wer some minor hiccups here and there, Like Park Kise should've been ground up and used as potato fertilizer but it's fine it's not that kind of drama. (I'll just imagine it happened).

While The younger brother and the best friend might have been the funniest duo I didn't quite like them together, I don't know why. He's so freaking adorable and she's crazy and so funny but as a couple I didn't like them much but it's probably just a me problem.

I will be generous and keep the 8.0 rating, this series is inoffensive, give it a chance if you like silly and you'll have a good time.

Because I hate the rain.

Had I Not Seen The Sun Part 1

I was halfway through episode 6 when I noticed that this is only part one of the story. Had I'd known the season was split, would I have waited for the other half? Probably not, as I added it to my watchlist just for the beautiful title and the fact that it starred Tsenf Ching Hua as a serial killer. They had me hooked right then and there, I was waiting eagerly checking that countdown days, hours, minutes. I know Netflix added that feature to tease impatient people like me.

The story of a man that chops up people into pieces shouldn't be this beautiful, but it is, it is so beautiful that I kept forgetting that he is a cold hearted murderer and when I did remember I wanted him to be innocent so badly!!

The cinematography is stunning, the soundtrack is hauntingly beautiful, the cast is amazing, the symbolism of the moths and butterflies and the delightful manner in which he explained to her how they're different.

A man who killed people in such a gruesome way shouldn't be this relatable, but he is; I couldn't help but fall for him and that's where the plot faltered, too much time was spent in that backstory making this cold blooded killer far too sympathetic, far too human so Be warned if you're thinking of watching this, I may emphasizing the beauty of it all but at it's core this is a horrifying story, it isn't romance, it's not all sunshine, rainbows and butterflies It's about a series of gruesome murders and the events that led this man to commit such heinous acts of violence are gruesome, awful, vile so hard to watch and they're not afraid of showing how bad it was.

I had gut feeling, that something else happened, there's something the plot is hinting at that made me form a theory that the preview of what's to come have sort of spoiled/confirmed.

December 11 come quick because I need to know!!!

Stupid, but somewhat watchable?

I have had so many contradicting opinions on this drama, Immediately hated it and almost dropped it within the first few minutes and only stayed because Jang Kiyong is so beautiful that I couldn't look away and I'm glad I did because the first 2 episodes are fantastic up to that last part where the most idiotic misunderstanding was introduced, I truly cannot care how urgently you must go, taking a few seconds to knock on a door or at least write a note is the logical reaction, but drama land is what it is...

The storyline is cliché to the max, love triangle where the second male lead is by far the best choice, fake relationships, misunderstandings you name it, this drama has it, I have despite that been actively watching because it is funny, is inoffensive and entertaining.

I am though greatly disappointed about what happened in episodes 11-12. the first being, Kim Seonu perfect beautiful Seonu waiting until the last second to reject Yoo Hayoung, that conversation should've happened the moment she expressed interest in him, I'm disappointed but still believe he's the best and second the last secret is unacceptable there is no reality in which something like that would be and I truly cannot understand why instead of yelling at her, firing her they had Jihyeok's father slap her in front of everyone to make it even worse.

This mess of a series is finally over and I should've listened to my first instinct, although it was entertaining at some point it eventually felt like a chore. To be completely honest I skipped through most of the last two episodes just to get it over with, it could've been great but as most rom-coms this years it ended up not being worth it. I mean there is something in there if you have the patience to sit through all of the garbage.

Baek Ajin is an irredeemable monster.

I was going to wait for the entire thing to air, but I couldn't contain my excitement, so much so that I am barely 7 minutes into the first episode and I am already in love, the intro is perfect just as the webtoon.

This and Delusion are my most anticipated webtoon adaptations and I expect the highest level of quality out both, needless to say that my review will be biased, I don't think I can separate the adaptation from the source material even if I try.

I truly cannot care less about what changes are done to the story in order to make a coherent live adaptation, changes are required and expected otherwise what's the point, right? but what I will not stand for is any changes made to Baek Ajin's personality , she's a monster nothing more nothing less and that's what makes the story so good.

I know my current rating is ridiculous having watched 7 minutes of one episode, but it is what I feel for now. I will come back and adjust accordingly after I finish the 4 episodes that are available.

I said I'd come back and adjust rating when I had finished the first 4 episodes, now I'm 3 episodes in and have to take a break, but I'm standing by my 10/10, the series so far is excellent, the casting is impeccable, the acting superb, the minor tweaks done to the story are glorious and the pacing is perfect.

I had to add more after watching episode 4, it's the one with the most changes to the storyline so far, and it's for the better which I thought was impossible to do, it has made the plot more realistic and reassured just how awful Ajin is. I hope and pray that the upcoming 8 episodes keep up this level and if so I dare say this is the best K drama of the year. There's still plenty of time to screw it up though so I'm not going that far yet.

Edit for episodes 5-6.

I cannot put into words how amazingly well this adaptation is going! It's a story that I've read so many times that I know every beat, every character, every single plot point, twist and turn; Yet the way it's being told feels new, I am at the edge of my seat bitting my nails and wondering what is going to happen next.

Rena has been given a brain, has been made more vicious and a far better rival for Ajin, I love what they have done to her so much.

Of all the men in Ajin's life she doesn't deserve, Jaeo will always be my favorite, but Ingang is the one she deserves the least and hurts the most. Drama Ingang is also smarter, stronger, and might not be as easily fooled by her (Hwang Inyoup looks so good in this role!) I am excited and scared of how their relationship will develop and loving this drama more and more with each episode.

Edit for episodes 7-8

So far this review has been part praise for how well the adaptation is going and part a comparison between the source material and the adaptation.

This is where the comparison stops as for episode 7 entierly new plot threads have been added , to a story I foolishly thought was perfect to elevate it to levels I never thought possible, this while still keeping the core events intact and making an already montreous main character even more inhuman, she's not just irredeemably evil, no, she's the Devil.

Edit for episodes 9-10

I Know I said I'd stop my rambling and just wrap up when the series ended but, I'm a little miffed just a tinsy tiny little bit, I'm not going to go into detail what has disappointed me so far because I'm still hopeful that the ending will make up for it and because I got my wish.

I cannot explain how much I love adored that the Fiance character has been expanded, he's barely present in the webtoon but that one glimpse of him shows that he is Ajin's true match, so I've always wanted more of him and more of him we've got.

Major changes have been made to fit the live action's narrative and most of it for the better so I'm still hopeful I'm still satisfied but, it's no longer a 10/10 still pretty damn good. We'll see what happens next week, Will it keep up the good quality?or Will it crash and burn?

My conclusion.

Up until now I hve been mostly positive in my review, despite stating that I'd be biased and I am 100%, however, I adore the cast so much that I also let that bias my review, I have let tweaks that change Ajin's personality slide, even though I also stated that that was thr one thing I wouldn't allow. That being said, What in the world were those last 2 episodes??!! I get taking creative liberties or whatever, I wasn't expecting the ending to be exactly like the webtoon, but no, this is too much, no. It makes sense I guess, and it is fine but I much prefer the original ending.

I'm not going to go into detail because I don't want to spoil anything. I'm not going to drag this drama and say it's garbage because it isn't, it's good and up until that one scene in episode 8 I loved it! I'm sure that for the unbiased this is probably a great drama.

The acting was superb and the soundtrack is fire, the story was practically flawless episodes 1-8 except the last scene and then it went too far, the ending changed too much and it disappointed me a lot.

I do recommend to read the webtoon. It's free on the webtoon app, just 62 chapters a quick abd very entertaining read and it's different enough that it won't seem repetitive, Also if you haven't, read Delusion and join me in the wait for the upcoming drama.

They better not ruin this one!!!

At first I thought this one was just another average romantic kdrama. and I'm not saying it isn't, It's fake marriage that'll eventually lead to love. There's a childhood friend who's in love with one of the leads (she super cute, I love her and she better not suffer) and the tired childhood connection trope. We have Jung so Min playing a character pretty similar to ones she's played before (Because it's my first life, love next door) and Choi Wosik's character is again the humble rich kid very much in parallel with Our beloved summer's Choi Woong ,however, it works beautifully!

4 episodes got me hooked! I have laughed out loud many times and maybe for the first time in a loooooooong while I'm not rolling my eyes at the childhood connection trope.

This drama is throwing every possible cliché at us and make it work in a way that feels fresh! I'm just hoping that this one of the exceptions were the ending doesn't disappoint.

Episode 6 was disappointing, I'm loving the comedy but it's getting a bit too stupid for my taste, Ex-boyfriend Wojoo is too annoying but I do enjoy watching him suffer so I'm torn between wanting him to go away and wating to see him get what he deserves. I don't plan on dropping it but it's not as good as I expected to be.

My final thoughts.

Sometimes predictability can be comforting and this is one of those times. Would You Marry Me was simple no real complications, Villains were easily brought down and punished and all was solved and wrapped up in a neat little bow by the end. Full of cliches but still enjoyable it was really fun to watch.

The high ratings are solely for Seo Kangjoon's face.

I'm so disappointed! I was so excited for a Seo Kangjoon comeback and got this mess!

I'm all in for silly plots, Bodys swaps, time travel, cross dressing, a grown as man passing of as a highschooler it's always a yes for me.
More often than not these silly plots are pretty bad I know it and I take the risk every time.

Undercover Highscholl started off so well, just the right amount of stupid, very funny great cast it had it all for the first four episodes but as the story progressed it got so boring and unfortunately has one of my biggest pet peeves a horrible antagonist the acting was to exaggerated felt forced and one dimensional just not engaging enough.

The romance plot was simply non existent I could even go as far as saying that you could remove O Su A entirely and it wouldn't make much of a difference which is sad because Jin kijoo is hilarious and gorgeous but this character although funny, just didn't work for me at all.

I skipped through most of the last two episodes they were really, really bad so I would not watch this drama again and wouldn't recommend it either. It's fine to pass the time if you're bored and want to stare at a hunky dude for a couple hours.

Not a reincarnation story.

I was expecting a reincarnation story but instead it's several stories using the same actors.

Story 1

It took me a moment understand the fantasy element and if I understood correctly in this universe rain makes the world black and white except for your soulmate. It was very cute pretty much the same story as La pluie but told better, this one actually makes sense and doesn't break it's own rules. It's got It's silly moments Like when they can't reach Sun his friend immediately asumes he's fighting with his boyfriend It's weird I would've liked a but more backstory too, there's an Asexual or aromantic carachter here and it would've been nice to see more of that. It's not perfect but very good nonetheless.

Story 2

Is so much cuter than 1 I mean first is soooo adorable I can't with him! These two actors have very good chemistry and I love that this time around their personalities are switched it's so much better than to have them play basically the same carachter every time also the supportive grandma she's the best! I liked it so much better than the first one and I'm excited for the rest.

Story 3

I thought wasn't going to like it at first because X seemed a bit creepy but once they met I started to like it more and more. By Namping's actions I was able to guess what was going to happen and man I am so mad I was right, even knowing what was coming it didn't make it hurt any less, despite the pain I keep loving these short stories more and more each time.

Story 4

I have less and less to say each time, aside from the ugly hair extensions getting uglier than the previous ones there's not much to complain about. Sian is hilarious I fell for him just as fast or maybe faster than Blue did.

Story 5

The one that brings everything together although I didn't like this one as much, it's still a great series overall.

I may be a masochist but, X Namping is the best of all stories, I would actually love to see an extended version of it. I had never seen these two actors before and I'm very impressed with their acting I'll be looking forward to more of their projects in the future.

Girls, be ambitious! Or not so much...

The fact that this series is currently rated 5.2 with just one episode out is insane!! Ignore the rating, watch and form your own opinion.

For me this was an excellent first episode it introduced the cast brilliantly!! Kim Dami as Young rye is ridiculously adorable, Shin Yeeun as Seo Jong Hui is so admirable, the ultimate girl crush!! and although the casting Heo Nam Jun at 32 years old as a Highschooler is weird, I liked him very much.

The story seems to be leaning towards a love triangle which is not the best, I don't usually mind it much and I hope it doesn't become the centre of it all.

Coming back after watching the second episode I'm loving the series even more a d I'm so happy to see the rating rise a bit although it should be at least at an 8. I love how the friendship between the girls is developing and I hope that it doesn't get ruined by a stupid love triangle.

Oh My!! this drama just keeps getting better, it is for sure my favorite ongoing drama. The love triangle is far more complicated than what I had envisioned with Snagcheol and Jeon Hyeon both crushing on Yeongrye and in my humble opinion either one of them is a better choice than Jaepil, but the heart wants what it wants I guess.

I reiterate I couldn't care less who ends up with whom I just want the girls to be friends and love each other no matter what. I wish I had waited to binge the whole thing but for now I'll be patient and update this review once the drama ends.

I wasn't planning on updating until the show finished airing, but I was so surprised by the time Jump! Thank God! no more old man Jae Pil in highschool uniform, now we can really focus on how handsome he is. I'm full of curiosity about what happened in those 7 years.

I'm so excited for the second half!!!

I am sitting down now to watch the last two episodes with extreme disappointment, Girls be ambitious is a quote from the first episode that really touched me, it made me believe that this would be a women supporting women drama, women with great ambitions, for growth and empowerment, I thought this would be friendship centered with a slight romance a little triangle to stir things up, but no!! What started as a beautiful friendship between 2 girls that happened to like the same guy has become a literal competitor! I am amazed at the extreme nose dive this one took.

I'll be back to write my final thoughts after I'm done and adjust the rating accordingly.

I am done watching and instead of editing my review I will leave it as is, so whoever has the patience to read all this can experience my joy and eventual disappointment as the story progressed.

My final thoughts;

I might have been the most active supporter of this drama from day one, but it ultimately ended up disappointing me. The series is gorgeous and wonderfully acted it got me hooked up to episode 10 when it all went down the drain and it became just another predictable love triangle. The final episode wasn't as bad as I expected it to be, so I'll at least give that. For me it's a fine one time watch and I'm not sure if it merits recommendation.

I wish I could rate this higher

It's fun if you want to watch, but don't take the plot seriously and be patient that's my advice.

The ratings on this site have been wackier than ever these days. I waited patiently for the whole series to be out before starting it while peeking at the ratings every now and then so you must guess how excited I was seeing it with such great ratings.

I started and immediately saw the problem with it, the plot makes absolutely no sense every single character is stupid to a fault. It's so unbelievably ridiculous that it's funny. While watching I kept switching between being so bored my brain would shut down for a few minutes and so amused with the ridiculousness that I couldn't stop watching. I wish they had leaned in to the absurdity of it more, if so it would've been a solid 10, but unfortunately they were serious about it so it's not.

The romance plot was put in the back burner for far to long and when it finally took off it was rushed, like they'd been boyfriends for what 10-12 hours a day or two maybe and they had already decided to adopt a child??!!! whn!!?? How??!!

Anyway it's a happy ending, it's cute and funny and I love Yin and War, but I'm not going to rate this a 10 when it clearly not just because of that, I hope they continue to work together and get better scripts going foward.

I'm going to go bawl my eyes out with the best story and then watch Love mechanics to bring the mood back up while laughing at how dumb Vee is.

There's something about Daon

Jung Daon has a quality that makes the men who fall for him go mad, Ju Seonghyeon being the only exception; This man is too pure and precious to corrupt.

The thing with this adaptation is that it seems to have been made for people that have read the source material as I am not one of them I am left a bit confused, despite the confusion I was able to fully enjoy it though; It is beautiful, fluffy cuteness yet dark and scary at times.

Jaemin's obsession with Daon intrigues me He claims to love him yet avoids a romantic relationship due to the probability that it would end He settles for friendship that way they can be together forever which would be great if not fornthe fact that he doesn't want Daon to be with anyone else He has lied and schemed for 10 years to prevent anyone other than him to come close to Daon and when he's rejected tries to commit murder suicide just so they can be together forever a total wacko, but why exactly what trauma caused this behavior is he just insane for no reason? The last thing he said to Suhyeon is " You don't know why I made that deal with you" Now I couldn't care less if he knows or not because He is just as crazy as Jaemin but I want to know, What was it? was there a time in which Daon had feelings for Suhyeon? Is that why? I woul've liked to see more of Suhyeon and Daon in the past and maybe more on why Jaemin was the way he was.

This 8 episode series was adapted form a 124 Chapter Manhwa, I have seen longer series adapted from far shorter material so I guess that's where the problem lies, it should've been longer explained better the situation in the past. I didn't want to read it because I heard it includes r*pe scenes but I am intrigued.

I still loved it, would watch again and would recommend.

Hauntingly beautiful.

Had I Not Seen The Sun Part 2.

I didn't expect to like the second part more, but here I am, amazed at how perfect it was. It balanced perfectly the beautiful love story between the "butterfly and the moth" and the gruesome murders he committed to protect her.

Again I found myself forgetting that this man brutally murdered all those people, wanting to find a way for him to be forgiven, they were scum they deserved it and it was so satisfying to see these monsters cry in pain and beg for forgiveness.

Watching this part made me realize why the back story was told in such detail, all of it is important, the beautiful parts, the ugly and painful parts too all to better understand the mind of this man and the broken girl he loved so much.

Ok Chanhwi made me stay

I was looking forward to this drama as I love the main leads, but the first few episodes were so Cliché and the towns people were quite annoying I kinda wanted to drop.

After the 3rd episode it started getting better Our male lead is so charming that you just don't want to take your eyes off him.

This is the 3rd drama I've seen Baek Sungchul in and I liked him fine before but now Chanhwi won my heart, I kept watching mostly to see what silly shenanigans he'd be up to. I want to see more of him a main lead maybe, and I know I'm not alone in this.

The last two episodes were quite boring, I skipped most of episode 12. It's an OK drama with some funny scenes, something to watch when you have nothing better to do.

It could've been amazing.

I am writing this review with 15 out of 16 episodes watched because, I needed a break and needed to vent a little. Besides, I highly doubt watching the end is going to change my mind about this train wreck of a drama.

How is it that I went from being anxious for the weekend to come so I could watch this to literally forcing myself to finish? It was so freaking good when it started!! Those first two episodes were perfect!!! the fight scenes are so cool, the characters so likeable and my god The villain is beyond cool!! I saw another reviewer complain about him, something along the lines of " how can such a small man be so menacing" and that's actually the point, a small frail looking man that holds so much power that no one dares to touch him. Oh Jungse is a wonderful actor, an actor so brilliant that even in the worst of scripts he will turn out a 10/10 Characterization and Good boy is an excellent example of his brilliance.

The story just started unraveling and going nowhere and everywhere at the same time.

Dongju is annoyingly stupid and stubborn to the point that if he were a real person he would've died a long time ago! god if he weren't so pretty I'd slap him!

I am going to finish this disaster only because I need to see the captain survive this, I need to look at Bogum's smile a little longer and enjoy the wonderfuly played villain that is being wasted here. Also it's not that I don't like the romance plot, but, it would've been better without, not every story needs a romance plot and this one would've been far cooler if ot were just action comedy centered.

OK, so I finished it, the final episode was fun, I laughed a lot and really enjoyed the fighting scenes. If only they had done 8-10 episodes and cut the romance plot this would've easily been a 10 as it is I think a 6 is more than fair.

Don't waste your time

I don't know how ot happened but I started this with zero expectations and still ended up disappointed.

The first season of Squid Game was one of the best ever it was near perfect and it would've had they not continued the story.

Season 2 introduced a very interesting cast of Characters it was funny and seemed to have some potential, but then, nothing happened most of the runtime wasted on pointless conversations and repetitive voting scenes, I kept waiting for the fun games to start and then it ended and nothing really happened.

I only watched season 3 because I didn't want to leave the series unfinished but maybe I should have, 6 hours of my life wasted nothing to show for it, the ending left me feeling empty, unsatisfied and angry. Such aa great cast and one of the worst storyline I ever sat through.

Please if you haven't watched this season yet, just don't,you won't be missing anything.

The younger version is better

I was going to wait to binge this one, but boredom got to me and without even noticing I had watched two episodes. I am sensing that I might regret starting before all episodes are out.

I see other reviewers complaining about the adult versions being too childish and although I understand that can be annoying I usually don't mind it as long as it's no too exaggerated.

I do agree that the younger version is much better. Both couples have good chemistry and nice banter but it's funnier and more natural with the teenagers, I kinda wish that the story was set in that time period even though I do enjoy the adults too.

One thing that I don't like and it's quite common in these kdramas is that the the younger actors don't resemble the older actors, it makes the story feel disjointed as If we're watching two different couples instead of the same couple in two different time periods.

An update 5 episodes in, Cha Jihye is the worst 😫 I hate her and they better cut off ties with her by the end of the drama or I'll be livid!! also When if ever writes are going to learn that if the conflict can be resolved by having a simple conversation is not a conflict it's an annoyance!!???!! They had a much better conflict right there, the family feud, that should've been the reason or literally anything else that didn't involve a stupid misunderstanding.

I continued watching up to episode 10. I was planning to watch the last two episodes today, but, I kinda don't want to anymore. I'm so upset that they're still friends with Cha Jihye and episode 10 was so boring I skipped most scenes that didn't include the leads.

I might come back and skip through the last two episodes but I doubt it, it started fun but later became boring, predictable and frustrating.
