High potential, cheap execution
Taken straight from a horny 15 year old's notes app and filmed on an umidigiG9X.I won't be too critical because it's niche and filming probably cost less than a satsfying Nando's order, but 5 minutes per episode is way too short - I'd have finished the series before even getting to my third peri-peri wing!?
I've honestly seen better quality in Hudson Williams pre-Heated Rivalry short films, BUT the bi-curious, angsty young woman who probably wrote this definitely has some good ideas. Or, if it was written by a man, some very creative wank fantasies. Either way, I found it relatively enjoyable.

Heatedo Rivaruri?
Okay jokes aside, this drama was outstandingly mid. Like, 'rich CEO ML hires poor girl underdog FL' kdrama levels of excitingly dull. They built up this tantalising new plot, added orchestral suspension music and the whole shabang, just for the whole shtick to be muffled within a couple of interactions. Exciting, tense, interesting, mysterious, omg whats gonna happen... and then crickets.Aside from the pathetic plot points, I really struggled to understand the characters. I'm used to the whole 'I need to earn my place by his side' mindset, but really? That was the motivation behind wanting the role?? And I'm supposed to root for your passing the audition over blondeski who looks at the script like a devout, God-fearing, Jesus-loving Christian eyes up the bible? Mad ting.
However, as much as I hate on this series, it makes up for in quality. This is no underground BL niche fuelled by £15, a go-pro and a wet dream, this is a Production. Capital P. Say goodbye to the petty romantic squabbles and love-triangle situationships, and konnichiwa to characters with depth, realism and mummy AND daddy issues. The woker in me rejoiced at the sheer quality of this drama, and even though it has the intensity and thrill of a wet wipe, it's a bad GOOD drama. It's an Uncontrollably Fond in a world of Pump Up the Healthy Love's, a Put Your Head On My Shoulder amidst a sea of Lve O2O's, a 2gether: The Movie in an era of Tharntype seasons 1 through 2. It is worth watching and will definitely put a spark in your weekend (however dim that spark may be), so give it a shot and put it on your PTW with medium priority. High priority if you have parental issues or a passion for equally but diversely attractive men kissing on camera.
TLDR: good drama, good vibes, overused tropes, nothing crazy, do watch if you like boys kissing and healthy relationships, don't watch if you're looking for something groundbreaking, action-packed or slightly toxic (but in a hot way). This isn't Heated Rivalry. And watch series 1 first.

WATCH THIS NOW OR FOREVER BE UNCULTURED
I have never seen a drama so representative of a disability/special need. Twinkling Watermelon has nothingggggg on my boy Shao Peng his sign was so fluid, so natural, so smooth I genuinely thought the actor was deaf I hope this man was paid in the thousands for how well he did genuinely INCREDIBLEIf you want to watch a new drama with new character dynamics and new tropes, you might be a bit disappointed. However, that being said, the journey that See Your Voice takes you on will make up for EVERYTHING. I have never seen a disability explored so well physically and emotionally. PLEASE WATCH THIS. PLEASE.

Actually Incredible
Effective communication, healthy relationships, zero big secrets, zero huge and pivotal misunderstandings, zero random parental traumas that will only come into play once everything seems to be going well, this was an AMAZING bl. I was so tired of seeing the same unhealthy and inauthentic tropes in JBL (obsession/infatuation, 'I'm only gay for you I would never date a man ew thats rank' and 'i only like you because you fuel the massive ego I've adopted due to my slightly above average looks and the worship they receive from the girls in my school' [not explicitly a trope, I'm just reading between the lines here]), and while this was BUILT on these classic Japanese romance pillars, the execution was SO healthy, SO genuine, SO bloody brilliant, it felt like being 12 and discovering BL for the first time again. genuinely. This drama was 100000% written by either a woman or a man with a soft voice and a slightly different definition of the terms 'bear', 'trade' and 'prep', and if that inferation alone doesn't sway you, i don't know what bloody will. WATCH THIS.
