Nice guy in a not very nice drama
I believe the reason i didn't really like this drama is because it promises something and gave us another thing, or at least that's not what I expected before starting it.It's a romance, family, drama, but all we got were gangs war.
Romance was very little to none in the beginning, it's all about the two gang leaders and the animosity between them, of course Seok Cheol is caught in the crossfire.
The family parts is only about the mess the older sister made and the hopeless dating case of the younger, Seok Cheol had little influence on both, he's just there trying to pick up the broken pieces.
I saw someone comparing this drama to "call it love" because it has the same vibes and I agree, it has the same atmosphere but heavily focused on other things aside from the romance.
I believe if they just cut the romance and advertise it as a gangster drama it would have been much better.
Another thing is the slow boring pace, and I mean in general, it's not a calm healing drama, though it has all the aspects of being so, it is about struggling with things you have no influence on, which makes your heart heavy unnecessarily, I'm of course talking about Seok Cheol in this case and I can't not focus on him because he is the ML.
The FL is lovely and adorable but I don't know what they wanted her character to be, in the very beginning we meet this introverted character with a traumatic past that made her life miserable and had a hard time maintaining a job related to her passion for music, she feels better performing in front of a camera than a few people (her words not mine) then suddenly she is performing on the streets, in bars and in front of the whole republic of Korea.
I think the drama is generally good it's just need some polishing here and there, so if you like family dramas and gangs this one is for you, if you are watching for the romance drama part, I don't think you will be satisfied much ~

Gold
I love watching dramas with older cast, because they still gives me the same vibes of old romcoms I used to watch mid 00s, and I'm glad they still have the knack of it considering it's been a while since I've seen UJH and SSH in a drama. That been said it's not a perfect drama and in some parts I got bored but I blame my busy schedule that made me watch each episode in parts, so even if I like it I definitely got distracted while watching which made me lose interest eventually ~
So this part is on me 🤦
Story is simple, young woman's mind in old woman's body all over again, but this is a case of memory loss so there is a twist to it, overall nicely done slightly illogical but good enough to entertain.
I would recommend it if you miss old 00s dramas, seeing those same old actors is a breath of fresh air now that most actors are Gen Z or younger watching some Gen X makes me reminiscence good old drama days when me and only five others in my country were watching kdramas and it wasn't as popular as now lol ~

Unnecessarily confusing
This is going to piss some people off so if you like the series and have no complaints about it then don't read, if you disagree I don't care, keep it to yourself it's"my" review and "my" opinion, also I'm going to vent a little, with some curses ahead ~~All good? ... Perfect.
Now, what the fuck was that 😂
I binge watched this so it wasn't as confusing to me as - I imagine - to whoever watched it while it was on air, and I have to say I still ended up with too many questions, unnecessary questions about what was real and wasn't, specially for Tonkla-korn relationship.
Direction was all over the place, making everything confusing, story by itself is good, even great and acting was on point even with the questionable characters' morals and behaviours, and sadly that's the only thing I liked about the series, also Den, he was adorable !!! I LOVE HIM!!! MUAH!! He was the best and I loved his interaction with Tyme, cough-even more than with great-cough 😂😂
What I didn't like was somehow all the characters maybe lol I mean they were written in a weird way the only person I felt sorry for was Tyme, Great? Not so much....
I mean Great literally did a hit and run then later they kinda forgot to show his confessing to it IRL and just showed his regret in the 4mins, I know he is sorry and the lady actually committed suicide by jumping in front of him but how would we know now if she actually wanted to die???huh how?? This was all in his 4mins which was led by his feelings and regrets.
so, um, lady, you died, sorry about that I'll just imagine you jumped on purpose and then forget all about it, ok? 👍
Now Tonkla revenge? Logically this part was sci-fi lmao I mean anyone with evidences just shows them to anyone, police is big a joke! I mean who in his right mind share sensitive information in the investigation with Normal citizens? Moreover a relative to the dead person? Bitch, please!
What I hated the most was the way the direction went, specially the part where they intentionally showed the real life for Tonkla-korn-Win DURING Great's 4mins, confusing AF unnecessarily!!
Also the reference that the lady who died was the reason for Greats mum death and magically when he let her die he saved his mum but WHAT IS THE PROOF YOU F*CKERS!!!! You just put random connections just like that? Good lord!! 🤦🤦🤦
Lady, yes you who I killed a few moments ago, hello again, now you would have been the reason to kill my mum so I really am relieved you died!! To save my mum you know🤷 completely logical ~
You see, after everything settles in, and I know it's just a series and fictional and bla bla bla, I just don't like illogical stuff, but ..BUT!! I still think the story was amazing needs some polishing but nonetheless
I know my review doesn't show that, seriously, the story was amazing it could have been much much better, cinematography was Fantastic!! But sadly that doesn't help much when the final product is full of flaws ~

No angst, no extremely evil characters, no overdramatic FL or an extremely unrealistic ML.
Just a simply and lovely romance with good acting and enough drama to keep the thing going for a couple of hours.
Acting is great here, if you are familiar with the ML you will know you are going to watch some good acting, the FL was nice too so it was nicely done.
The whole story is cliché which is the norm with VDs but this is one of the good dramas.

Dare I say, better than the series
It was so sweet, also very funny, the first part of the first ep at least, and we got to see jealous Watarai, yeay!... I really didn't want it to end it was so cute~However it was very short, but still as beautiful as the series, we get to see the growth of their relationship, and how comfortable they become with each other, of course Hioki still as shy and adorable and we all got off guard by the hot kissing, but it was a nice surprise.
It's only 2 episodes, very short 2 episodes, heavily focused on the two main characters, but we got to see a glimpse of the rest of the group.
It really has what everyone wish to see in a special ~~

Emotional and lovely
The drama has so many mixed reviews about it, and I belong to the one that likes it, actually I'm probably against all the negative points mentioned about it.First acting is amazing, Toma's appearance with how little it was, he still shines as the goofy, hopeless romantic and nice BF/Friend.
Also I'm a HUGE Arimura Kasumi fan, and I loved her role and everything about it, kentaro too was great.
The story itself is very predictable, it plays in that gray area about the whole two souls inside one body, and what's considered cheating or just go what your heart's desire.
Now, I really love Saeko, and I believe I'd literally do the same thing she did, on the other hand, I didn't respect Mike's at all, and I don't believe her love that much, she was selfish and arrogant, selfish when she didn't care about her husband's heart and how it changes him, I believe the most frightened person should be Naruse, the one who is confused about how he feels and need emotional support and help, and arrogant when she boldly confronted Saeko, and at the end when she told her about his heart condition.
I may be evil for liking how this end, if Saeko lost her lover, so does Miki, now she would understand how it feels to lose the love of your life.
I may be a little harsh, and I genuinely liked how they ended on good terms, but she just played victim the whole time while the only person who gained something from this whole situation, her lover is safe and healthy - up till the end at least- while Saeko lost hers, and Naruse got identity crisis.
Overall I loved how it ended, I just hated how Miki behaved and I know everyone is commenting about the cheating but seriously, what did you expect from a heart transplant story where the person gain memories from the hearts and meet the lover of the donor. It obviously says between the line that we will have a dilemma of falling for two people, yet, I believe the whole cheating part was just confusion, not real feelings.
That been said, it's a very interesting drama, you can easily binge it without a moment of boredom.

If you watched "fight for you" you'll probably be familiar with the cast, and if you liked it, then you can probably expect something similar here.
They serve chemistry on a plate, but same with FFY, the story is the weakest thing in the show.
Let me just explain the whole thing since there are many confused comments about it, the story is about two idols/actors who are in different agencies and both their managers are at odds, so they start on the wrong foot then they are cast in a short movie and then their story begins, so in the show they are making a movie together.
The first 1-6 episodes are the movie they are cast in, so the first 6 eps are the movie within the drama itself, I don't understand why they opted to show the movie first, they should have added those 6 eps last, for us to see the results of their work at the end.
Instead we got invested in the movie and got confused when ep7 started.
From Ep7 onwards, that's the beginning of the real vertical drama, I hope this point is cleared up.
Now the story of the drama itself parallels with the movie they were making, same idea.
Is the story great? Not really, repeated and expected, it won't blow your mind away or anything, more like a comfort drama.
The two leads and the managers too have good chemistry, the managers story isn't well developed, but it was ok.
For a vertical drama, this was actually good, for a BL, just lower your expectations. So if you are watching for the cast like me, you will enjoy it, it's good for passing time, if you are looking for a proper drama, then this isn't for you.
Overall enjoyable and good when you have a couple of hours to waste~~

Nope
I gave this 6 episodes before deciding to drop it.It didn't entertain me and I couldn't find one reason to continue watching, not a single character was good enough to tempt me to continue, I wasn't interested in any relationship, even the friendship wasn't that great.
I had too many questions too, right from the beginning that made me scratch my head while watching, like why did the FL go back to her hometown? Why not just leave the company and go somewhere else? Exactly why did the FL loved the ML? And when exactly, we see her strong character that is completely against marriage and her 3 aunts, didn't even give a good doctor a chance to BAM! Falling in love with someone she doesn't even know... And feels too much for him trying to fight his demons.
And Kai, his first appearance was really weird, he almost slashed the FL face to later admit that he was in love with her for 10 years, that doesn't seem like love to me.
I didn't continue to see if those questions were answered or not because I don't even want to know anymore, I guess this drama is just not for me ...

This is one of the sweetest and cutest BLs that I've ever seen!!
The story is so lovely and pure and the two leads are so adorable, it really deserves more recognition, I can't believe people are sleeping on this drama!!
Everything about it is lovely, good leads with nice chemistry, plot is nice and light, reminds me a little of Cherry Magic despite being completely different but the introverted, book lover Daichi reminds me of Adashi a little.
I don't want to spoil anything this is about an hour show, so it's pretty short, a very heart-warming and sweet.
Highly recommended ~

Yakuza boss, without the Yakuza part
I've watched the whole thing waiting for the ML to unleash his inner Yakuza heir persona, and aside from a very lame fist fight and a full back tattoo, I've seen nothing that suggests he is a Yakuza or in any way tough and violent. And No, my dear writers, having a resting b!tch face and being a meticulous boss doesn't make you a Yakuza, if so I'd be the first to be called a "Madam" and you'd see me walking in a lace dress with a cigarette and bloody red lipstick, with 4 buff guys around me...
The ML is a big softie and very kind guy ... Basically the inventor of the green flag classification.
Which is making the whole Yakuza thing a false advertising, but be that as it may, I'm actually happy he wasn't the conventional Yakuza boss, I believe the drama was perfect for my mood and pretty light and lovely.
I would have rated it higher if it wasn't for the few things that bothered me
1- the romance was too sudden, there is no back story of why or when exactly the Boss fell for Makoto, also no explanation on how or why she was homeless, I understand she was living with her BF but he was there for only 3 years, so up to the age of 26 where did she live? How did she survive??
2- the sudden appearance of Tora is kinda stupid, I mean he suddenly appear in Makoto's life after 9 years of losing contact, then BOOM I love you, and how exactly were they out of contact for 9 years yet he managed to know about her BF ?? Logic? Hello?? Are you still with us???
3- the sudden appearance of the bad guys, take two 😂 no hint whatsoever of any rivalry between Ren and anyone, yet suddenly there is kidnapping and stuff. I didn't like that, you should have hinted of anything instead of just squeezing everything in one episode.
There was another one or two illogical things like how did Aina manage to take a photo of his back tattoo... İn his own bar ... İn front of all his yakuza men... Also how did everyone in the office see the photo and totally ignore it...
I can go on ...😂😂 But weirdly enough, I actually enjoyed it, I can even recommend it but maybe you have to give your brain a holiday while watching ~

Comforting but borderline boring
I love healing dramas, the ones that are calming and deal with Human interactions. This one checks the box yet have some negatives that made me rate it less than I intended to.
From the outside it's a calming and light drama that deals with serious issues in lighter way and ensure that everyone gets his happy end and/or move on from whatever trouble got them stuck in their lives.
Acting was great and well balanced from the funny to sad to lovable moments.
On the other hands, the stories were too boring, and some of the characters were uninteresting and very skippable, the two leads are just another story in the series, they don't seem more important or anything just like any normal story shown here, combine this with 18 episodes made the drama a little hard to enjoy.
Overall, not bad but not good, for me there is a thin line between a human, calm and comforting drama and a very slow, boring and longer than necessary drama, this one fluctuate between both sides.

Revenge story turned ridiculous
This didn't have a synopsis or anything and it was just 6ep so I just started it with no expectations and no knowledge about what I'm going to watch. After the second ep I kinda knew what is going on and I understood everything,, till that twist in the last ep.
Tbh I understand the frustration in the comments, this was going so well then bam!! 180 degree sadness, for me I actually spent the last ep with a whole 9 mins of laughter!! The whole you die or I die is very aggressive idea, also the kidnapper appearance out of No where was hilariously unrealistic, everything was done in a very silly way, also the fight consequence and the way the ML was somewhere in the house after being kicked out, the mother that totally disappeared in the rebirth... Etc.
I mean it was all good and fairytale-like till the silly last ep.
I don't really hate it, but the end was more theatrical than needed when it could have easily be a very sweet end.
I don't know if I would recommend it or not but you can just skip it you won't miss much anyway ~~

Pretty disappointing
I blame my high expectations.I expected too much and ended up with crumbs.
Now I'm not saying that this is a bad show per se, it's actually the best quality domundi had ever made, but still it's not flawless and not at all deserves this high rating.
Now I shall say what I liked and didn't like about this.
1- acting: everyone was amazing and I was really impressed by Keng, the first scene he appears in was spectacular, and the way he carries his character till the end was really good, also side characters were amazing specially FirstOne and Tle.
On the other hand, Namping was terrible, and I'm really sorry to say that, but him being the MAIN character is a heavy weight I'm not sure he is ready to carry yet, and I'm more sorry to judge him like that but the show is in his character name, mate literally just standed there, said the bare minimum he has too little script to deliver, his hands are glued to his side, he walks without moving his arms at all, and his shoulders are slightly up as if someone spilled cold water on him in the middle of December's winter, with little to no facial expressions at all, so I'm absolutely and utterly disappointed that Domundi focused on improving the show quality and yet this is who they decided to give the role of Khemjira to.
2-story: the beginning was amazing really catches your attention, but after a few episodes everything is so random, we have things that happens thoughtlessly, where is the ghost? What is she doing? Why did she stop harassing him? No answers, also some inconsistency in the plot like they are at school but don't attend it, and then we learn that they are on a break but once Khem decide to go back on a whim, he is back to school again like this part is confusing, and the end was really really anticlimactic, like a monk and a few chantings? Why didn't they do that earlier!! Why didn't they solve that grudge before it got to this point, and how was he alive all that time, if she is that strong why couldn't she take revenge earlier?
I skipped some other illogical things because they are necessary for the plot, still I couldn't help but having them spinning in the back of my head while watching.
3- characters: I said that a billion time before but personally it's hard to like a show if I hate one of the main characters, and here I didn't like both, I could stand Peem slightly more than Khem because of Keng, but he still was annoying in some parts, like mate why are you complicating everything? And Khem, why are you so damn pushy!!? Khem's character is just so ridiculous too, I know he has a female name, but I didn't know that he was also brought up as one!! He is so mushy, that's not someone surrounded by ghosts and scary stuff his whole life!! That is a 10YO girl, but it's a Domundi thing to cast the Uke as too feminine character, I just want to say if you really want a feminine MC, just cast a woman!! ALL female characters were so pretty and MORE masculine than Khemjira, he was the most feminine out of all the female characters in the show.
And that is not a compliment.
Am I being too harsh? Maybe, it's just too average and I expected too much that's why I'm slightly pissed off and disappointed tbh.
This had a few good things too, like Mix doppelganger and his blind lover, they were so sweet, actually FirstOne is the reason I continued watching, sadly I can't seem to be happy enough about any other tiny thing I enjoyed to write them down.
Lastly, lower your expectations and watch it. I would not necessarily suggest it if someone asks me about a show, but if you are contemplating whether to watch it or not, just give it a try, you may like it more than I did.

Light and fun
It's a nice light romance drama, I love the two leads together, the FL is so cute and have a very lovely smile. The story is good, I didn't get the whole families thing but nevertheless it was enjoyable and entertaining.
There is nothing much to say about it tbh, it has less obnoxious characters and they don't appear much which is a plus.

Watch it for Narimiya Hiroki
I've said it before and I'll say it again, I will watch anything, literally anything with Narimiya Hiroki in it and I'll enjoy it!!That's how much I LOVE him, I'm incapable of hating anything he is in it, I can't, I just can't.
Now I'll try to be honest here this drama isn't by any mean the best of it's kind, nor a fantastic drama that you must watch, it won't change your life or anything it's a plain psychological drama that you can totally skip and sleep well at night.
Acting was spectacular as expected, Hiroki shines in his role, this guy has been away from acting since about 2016 and HE STİLL HAS THE KNACK OF İT, now I can't really judge other characters since the drama is basically on Hiroki's shoulder but the reporter stands out, he was fantastic.
The story was nice, no mystery here, pretty predictable and nothing to look forward to. Nevertheless, it's not as boring as I've seen in the comments, it may need to be a little shorter like 6 episodes would have been perfect but 8 aren't considered bad since we needed a lot of backstory for literally all the characters and I believe if it was any shorter we might complain about the lack of backstory for some characters but all I'm saying is we can do without a few unnecessary scenes here and there ~
My overall rate is heavily influenced but that doesn't mean it was a bad drama, I would recommend it. I watched the whole thing without skipping while being on a drama slump so that means something, however, I understand if some found it boring or slow, it is to some extent but personally that wasn't enough to put me off.
Welcome back Hiroki San ❣️❣️
