This was so beautiful!! Probably one of my favourite slice of life dramas that is BL friendly and focus on the minority's problem of feeling accepted.

The best thing about it, is that it didn't only show gay people's problem, but also tackles other issues like families, dreams and accepting your own self.

At the end of it I wanted them all to live together in one place with each of them being in his own flat but all come together during evening and have meals together, maybe talk together about their days and what happens in their lives.
And I mean anyone, except maybe for the father, he is terrible and I hated his character.

I wanted the show to keep going, I didn't want it to end which is a first, probably the only show this year that I watched without skipping a scene and wanting to see even more of it.

The cast carried their characters well, heavily focused on gay issues so if it's not your cup of tea don't watch it, this isn't really a BL, it's about gay people yes, but you won't find any romance or lovey dovey moments, however I had a good laugh in some scenes, not because they were funny but because they were very awkward or odd.

The characters are unique and very very weird, all of them are like that, you won't find one normal character here and that is what makes the show more interesting ~

Highly recommended if you like slice of life dramas about belonging and family and friends bonds~~

I was in a mood for a light romance drama, slow paced is a bonus, because I'm terribly sick and heavily medicated during Christmas time so any excitement would kill me lol

And this fits the category, a cute noona dongsaeng relationship, i wasn't that skeptical about the grooming idea being explored here because I didn't think that much of it, and I decided that I'd simply drop it if it wasn't good.

However this was done very well, the story is consistent and nice, the relationship is natural, no grooming at all, the ML was slightly too obsessed which is something I didn't like much but I could understand it considering that his whole world was revolving around her.

Side couple were my favourite, I loved the idea of a girl chasing the guy in an adorable way, nothing tacky about it, and the guy was so lovely, a little tsundere type but minus the aggressiveness.

The last 6ep were slightly redundant imo, the alteration between the past to the future was good till they spent a lot of episodes finishing the story in the past which wasn't the best way of segmentation since I kinda forgot what point of the relationship they were at in the present.
But all was tied up nicely I couldn't ask for more ~~

This tried so hard... And sadly it failed.
The story is interesting in the beginning, then somehow it gets more and more confusing and not in a Sherlock Holmes way that you have to follow the bread crumbs and arrange the puzzle to get the whole picture!
No it's in a very boring way, I almost fell asleep while watching.

The whole thing could be solved if they have shown him the video, I don't understand the need for all this encryption if they can solve all his struggles in 30 seconds.

Also you can easily watch the first episode and half of the last one and you will understand the whole story without missing a thing, which is weird considering that this should be a psychological drama with story building up and so to reach a final conclusion, but no, you can easily fill the blanks with anything after watching 1.5 episodes out of 8.

One thing I didn't understand was spoiler in the synopsis here, we all knew before starting the show that his "father" is dead which was a secret that was revealed in THE LAST EPİSODE.
Also I respect the "horror" elements they tried to include because it's a psychological drama, but they failed in this part miserably.

I mean after finishing, I don't understand the reason we have to invest all this time and emotions to follow a plot about a secret that needn't be a secret and requires only a few seconds to put this poor man out of his misery.

Why so serious!?

I don't really know how to rate or describe this, it's not a bad drama per se, I've seen much worse KBLs and this is even on par with the good ones.

But whatever happens in the story, it Takes itself too seriously, unnecessarily...

Like they are creating problems out of very simple matters, make these problems look bigger and bigger, then pop it like a balloon in a second, so at the end you be like, well, that's it??? All this build up and struggle for it to end up solved like that!?

Why getting too invested if everything is going to be gone in 30 seconds, give me back my emotions, please!!

Also the two main characters have a very odd relationship, specially Jeong Han, he is borderline obsessive, but in the very early episodes he treat IlJo like trash, being too harsh on him for no reason and saying a lot of degrading things as if he is his slave, yet he is this hopeless lover who is destroyed when IlJo even think about leaving him...
IlJo on the other hand has no backbone, he just love to struggle and be a drama queen for absolutely no reason, not to mention the very intrusive coffeeshop owner, like you only hire a part time guy to strongly intervene in his life, you only knew the guy for what? A month or so~~ who are you even to get involved and have an opinion!!

The only thing that deserves praise is the performances, the two leads were good, great even, their chemistry is very good and they fit together and for a KBL, this had great kisses ~

I don't know if I would suggest it to anyone or recommend it in general, it's not the greatest story but the chemistry worth giving it a shot ~

I have a stronger love for Takumi Kun's manga, and because this is my first BL ever, I have a soft spot for the old movies, even the first one that everybody hated lol.

But this isn't a continuation to the old 2007 movie, this is a readaptation that stands alone away from all the old movies, yet somehow the 5 movies makes more sense than a full series.

First I'll not discuss the story because it's flawed, we all know that, and it's either you like it or not.
Also I'll not mention the actors here because they were really bad as if they were instructed to mirror the first movie performance.

What really bothers me was the stories that they decided to show, they way they showed them, and the screen time they gave each of the 4 couples.

I understand that this is a Takumi Kun series so Takumi and Gii are the main focus but why showing 3 other couples if you don't want to explore their relationship, also why did they decide to add another story that wasn't even mentioned in the movies, like you are already adapting 5 different movies already in a very short series, why add more to it, just focus on the stories you already have...

I also feel really really bad for the 4th movies Pure because the story of Arata and Kanemitsu is my favourite yet they messed it up and they only appeared in like 4 scenes total ~~

I believe if you won't adapt a very famous manga well, just don't... Don't ruin our favourite old shows ~

Thai Soap opera style BL?

Holy mother of cliché moments, I love the two leads but out of all the bodyguard X businessman, protector X prorectee love stories, and enemies to lovers genre in general, this has a huge amount of cliché moments that are too much to turn a blind eye upon, and this is only for the BL part.
Because the show literally gives you nothing else to look for, no story, no characters worthy, no mystery or crime to be solved, just nothing.

I have to say first that the cast were great, the two leads have a great chemistry and I've been a fan since LIT, I'm sure everyone shipped each sibling with his bodyguard, and somehow all were fantastic, be that as it may, this is the only enjoyable thing about the show, and Story-wise, it's the worst.

The story was the weakest, and I'm generally not a fan of soap operas but I could stand watching some of them if it's somehow enjoyable or has some interesting things going, and I didn't know that this was one tbh, I just thought it's a normal action bl.

I mean the whole Bodyguard backstory was too much, Of course we have this multi billionaire MC, rude and broody that has a really bad encounter with the very poor Cinderella man ML, an unfortunate one mind you, where he throw some cash at him to solve the issue but the proud and dignified full of self-respect poor man refuses to take them then both of them gives e/o some life lessons, while staring deeply into eachother 's eyes - In Short each calls the other an idiot - then oh wow the poor guys saves the MC from danger and damn why is he so sexy now, time to make him my bodyguard and fall for him because the way he throw a punch makes me hard!! And omg! You're naked wearing only a towel??? I will "accidentally" fall on you ouuuuuuppppssss!!! ....

And since this is a soap opera, now everything HAS TO BE connected, all characters are connected and of course the ML saved the MC when he was a child by giving him sweets or something, so now both of them has to collaborate and expose the bad guys while saving the MC from his childhood trauma in the process, and everything surely ends with faking death, knock knock, wake up dead man, he's back from the grave.

We're still doing this ... In 2025 ... Alright...see why I'm pissed ~~

And for the sake of my sanity, I'll not talk about the funny shooting sequences, with flashlight bullets nor the Jackie Chan style acrobatic fighting scenes that only help making the actors look cool instead of being realistic, and I'll definitely not mention the plot holes and unrealistic everything.

But I'll definitely talk about the intimate flirty moments that are completely out of place and the extremely unreasonable hate and animosity between the characters, why? No idea, I know the reason but that much hate is just unbelievable.
If you hate someone THAT much, and you are that rich, just hire a sniper! Easy, clean and Gets the job done with one bullet and no traces, apparently the idea of a hitman didn't reach Thailand yet.

Also, the older brother irritated me, he keeps exploding like a firecracker every 10 seconds, mate how can you lead a company with that temper, just calm down a bit, it's not good for business, if you were my son I'd never leave anything in your hands with this temperament, maybe if you behave like a normal person for a while you will get to rule the world and whatever ~~ but the whole Queen maleficent behaviour and facial expressions don't help your case, it only makes you look more like an idiot.

I mean, after all I had Daou's captain Tsubasa haircut every other scene and his drunk antics to soothe the pain of watching this story and maybe make it more bearable but still ... I won't get the time I wasted on this show back.

Overall I think this is a let down after LIT, maybe I prefer DaouOffroad in more lighter BL than this.

It had potential but OMG

I saw a lot of bad reviews about this so I wanted to watch 2 episodes to test the water (no pun intended)
Well it was interesting at first and the story had potential but there are a few things that bugged me.

1- Phu's character is so pushy, I don't really like flirty guys that can't take No for an answer and I couldn't for the life of me understand the reason for his severe attraction towards Nawa, like I understand the whole plot revolve around that but I simply couldn't buy it.

2- the whole bad guy thing and the crazy son are all too predictable and very not interesting, like I'm literally the opposite of at the edge of my seat, I even dozed off while watching ep4.

3- the slow pace slightly irritated me for someone who gave this show a 2 episodes trial, the first half of the first episode was full of swimming scenes and a lot, I MEAN A LOT, of staring at each other moments, that could lasts for minutes, of course there is no conversation or anything during those scenes.

However, I really admire the tails and fins, they looked very realistic, also some scenes in the sea was great, the story could be better with some acting improvement from the cast but it's generally not a bad series.

Everything was good... Until it wasn't

If there is two tropes in BL that I really hate, they'd be 1- Everyone is gay and 2- Straight people turn gay for no reason at all.

This drama has the latter.
On one side we have this very disciplined, very mature, and extremely level headed STRAIGHT Jae Yeon, and on the other we have the very childish, rude and annoying Do Ha.
Guess who turns gay in the last 3 mins because of the other one... *Facepalm*

I mean this is a BL and I KNOW that so I'm not gonna sit here and expect to see straight couple, but at least make it realistic a little.

I'd understand if it was Jae Yeon who is gay and you know, try to seduce Do Ha and Doha falls for his mature personality and his manly character, but what did Doha do exactly to make the totally normal Jae Yeon changes his sexuality and falls for him! He was rude to him in front of many people, he misunderstood him and judged him for that misunderstanding, he bothered him all the time, the confession was the worst I've seen ever, and they didn't get close enough for any sort of feelings to arise....

Through the whole thing I was waiting for their feelings to grow, we can clearly see DH falling for JY, deservedly, but the whole time JY treated DH as a friend, barely so, and suddenly all of a sudden a confession, change of sexuality and the beginning of a love story, and we are supposed to believe that!? Alright.... Whatever you say ~~

Giving it a 4 because I liked JY, he was a dream guy.

Chronicles of honey and cigarettes

A pure love story turned so realistic in a split of a second.

This was very lovely in the beginning, then somehow they had to give us a slap of reality in our faces, but despite everything I think it was really beautiful, tragic yes but beautiful.

The chemistry between the two leads was amazing, one of them being innocently open and the other still in the closet is very real still was it really that important to show it in this story?

I don't think so, the story itself was going in a very innocent fairytale-like direction then a fiancé and a marriage appear and everything is changed.
The reason why I don't appreciate this change is because it made the ML a bad person, a coward and somehow a jerk. İn reality it's understandable that a straight guy with a lover would be surprised if he felt attracted to another guy but to do all that in the last ep, that's just too much.

I generally liked it, but I end it feeling sorry for one character, hating the other, and confused about the third ~

C. Nice but really slow

I was so excited to watch this, and it was completely different than what I expected, but different doesn't necessarily mean bad, I enjoyed it so much but for different reasons.
I believe it's totally different from other BLs because this is "Romantic BL" doesn't just focus on the story but the feelings in this are! wow just mind blowing!~~

Non and Bright were amazing!! Specially Bright since this is the first time I see him in a drama he was breathtakingly beautiful in portraying his character, I even liked him more than Non despite having a soft spot for the latter ~~

I don't wanna say anything negative because the drama deserves the courtesy of doing that, but I'd also be lying if I didn't say anything lol
the only thing that took me off guard in a negative way was the pace, it's not necessary a bad thing, just personally I found some scenes to be very VERY long, longer than they deserve and the atmosphere was so calm and quiet that I literally got distracted many times while watching, this could be just me but that annoyed me a bit, specially when I'm binge-watching ~~

Aside from that, it was great ~~

Holy mother of lazy writing and messy scripts

What ... Was that !!!???
I mean I was wondering why this drama isn't popular because I found it by pure chance... And now I know why!!!

Writers!? What happened? What's with that script??
It had a really good premise, the first couple of episodes were great and intriguing!! Then something went terribly wrong, not only that, they had to drag this drama to 12 episodes of weird sh!t.

I don't want to spoil anything so I'll just point out a few thing I liked and didn't like... And a few that just didn't make sense at all, however I'm going to be detailed about everything ~ proceed with caution 🤣

I didn't like:
1- obviously, the story: so we have this really traumatized idol who suddenly out of no where after 6 years decided to comeback only because a little kid told him he is long in the tooth and can't even sing anymore!!! Really?? That what got your heart pumping ??? That's a lame excuse for a story.

2- the romance, the two leads had about 5-6 episodes of nothingness, then bam!! They are in love? B!tch when did you even fall in love?? The ML falls in love with a kid he barely know, we call that 금사빠 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I mean you literally saw the guy 3 times and you are in love? oh, please! It was abrupt, unnecessary and the whole show could pass with them just colleagues Which would be better IMO ~~

3- how to piss me off 101! Have two people speak two different languages to each other and understand eachother perfectly!!
As a polyglot who speaks quite a few languages, I've never, and I mean NEVER speak a language to someone who doesn't understand it and expect such understanding like in this drama, and I have to exclude the parts where they chose the safe route and spoke in a third mediating language because that's what normal people would do, I don't care about the accent or the mispronunciation.
Man, I'd be damned if I sat here in my comfortable chair and judged someone working hard to speak a language that isn't his first! But the Thai-Mandarin mix is just pushing all my buttons!!!

Things that didn't make sense

1- Thai actors: I'm not by all means against the idea of collaborations between countries, or sharing actors, that has been there since ages and one of my top favourite BLs ever had KoreanXThai MC, (Bangkok boy in case anyone is curious)
But what did Mos and Bank do exactly??? Cameo that is completely unnecessary and odd, I didn't hate it but why???

2- the side characters that got marginalized, I loved the Boss and the senior, but while watching I saw less and less of them, where did they go?? And why showing them too much in the beginning if they are not that unnecessary!

3- too many questions unanswered! Like Sea's family??? What's with his mother calls, what happened to him when he was younger?? And how exactly does Neil imposing on a child and technically forcing him to listen to his song helpful? He is his saviour but from what?? We don't even know what he was dealing with?? Why was he alone? ... Just nothing

4- how can a sophomore deal with all that? Like part time, school, homework, composing songs, and training to perform?? Is he a magician!? No insomnia or sickness! I mean, I envy him, really!

What I liked:

1- acting is nice, not perfect but they were convincing in their roles, and I'm not talking about chemistry here at all, I mean each scene, they delivered their emotions well enough

2- Xiao Mei!!! My favourite thing about this whole sh!t show is Xiao Mei!! Oh my baby sunshine!! I have a crush on her! She was adorable, sexy,, oh those outfits slayed! And her sense of humour is spot on! Also how come she can be this adorable and funny at the same time!! Simply the best!!!

That's is!! Nothing else worth mentioning really!!
I would NOT recommend it at all, just watch something else of you got time.

Light, short and lovely

It's very short but still tackles some human issues, I don't understand the fascination with Capricorn sign, but that's the premise so it's ok.

Acting was good, and it had great potential, it could be something, on the other hand I couldn't see it as a full series with many episodes, somehow the plot fits as a very short drama, what I mean is it could be written better as a full drama with those two leads but I don't really know if it'll be as enjoyable or entertaining.

I'd recommend it, it's very short and nicely done. Even better than some full length bls out there ~~

Addictive and fantastic

I decided to watch this drama when it was announced because I wanted to see my baby Raul, I've been following him since he was little and I feel like a proud parent watching this lil cutie grows taller and taller.

Now the story was also nice and i was surprised I loved it that much, but tbh I totally forgot about it for a while and then started it on a whim.

It's very addictive, once I started it I couldn't stop and binge watched the whole thing in a couple of days, it definitely deserves more hype.

Story was amazing and the cast and characters were great, the only thing I didn't like was how they stretched the end, it could be ended with less episodes and it would still be great, besides they didn't even solve his problem with his mother nor did we learn who is his father and why did he end up like that...
Also the very last scene was unnecessary, too dramatic and sad out of no where which messed up the balanced mood of the drama.

Acting was great, I loved all the characters, even the overbearing and dominating father, I could understand his actions to some extent even if I completely disagree with him.
The only character I hated was the ML mother, she was a bit too much.

I wish the FL best friend got a partner, she had good chemistry with 2 characters (won't say who cause spoilers) but I understand they wanted to focus on the leads relationship more and I liked that.

I would recommend this drama because it really deserves more recognition ~~

Same ol' romcomdrama~

If you watched the first lesson and like it, this is just another 6 episodes of the same thing, if you didn't like the first season then what are you doing here??

First season was great, and because I was a lonely introvert like mikoto I felt her deeply so I immediately welcomed the second lesson.
My case wasn't the same, I wasn't saved by someone and because of that,I appreciate Jin's character even more.

Than been said there is nothing more the second season gave except for the backstory of Haijin and Mikoto, you can watch ep 1 and put two and two together easily understanding everything, but it's still fully explained in the last episode so aside from that it's just the same as the first one.

I loved the comedy that pops out from no where, sometimes expected sometimes not, still cute and fun to watch~

Recommended only for fans of the first season ~~

Better than expected

I LOVED it, even slightly more than I thought I would.

Japanese romcoms are usually a hit or miss, so I keep a my expectations within reach because I don't like dropping dramas, and Jdramas tend to be short most of the time so I can safely say it was a safe choice to pick it up.

Surprisingly, this was much more than just average romcom.

1- I loved the story, cast and execution.
Pros: You almost rarely find a drama that has everything, acting was great, story was well executed, cast had great chemistry, no annoying characters or huge misunderstandings, not boring and can be binged easily.
Cons: they danced around the parent acceptance topic, but it can be discarded as they showed their point, "some old folks would accept Cross-Dressing and some wouldn't, let's show that and end it here."

Which is also something I really liked and was surprised to see in asian dramas, specifically in Japan, they always shows one side, either too accepting or against all the way, like, parents are against an idea and that's it, nothing else, but showing another parent that accepts the foreign idea or different preferences is a good addition.
So it's not old people Vs young people, it's just opinions of different people despite their age.

2- Cross-Dressing in a straight drama
Pros: this would really sound weird but I'm glad this wasn't a BL, I watch BL I've actually seen too many, but cross dressing would be for gays only or the feminine males that wanted to be women or feel like women, act like one and be pretty, that's not the case here and i loved that, mainly all drag queens or cross dressers were gay men, but I find it refreshing that also straight men can also do whatever they want, dress and do makeup whatever they like, and also be normal straight men, the duality of the character was like a breath of fresh air.

Cons: not really a con, but there is no background story for the ML and why he love drag, I don't know if it was in the source material but I would like to see that.

3- not the average route for romcoms.
Pros: I think at this point we all were expecting the breakup then getting back together at the end of the series, fortunately, that didn't happen. Also I like that once they got together everything went fast, they didn't drag the story more than necessary, everything was good and happy ending.

I believe those are the main reason I rate this drama high, for me it's quite different than average romcom dramas, not that it's way better, but simply it fixed what usually bothers me in other Japanese dramas, that's why I highly recommend this drama ~~
