i know many people are hating it by calling it pedo shit and creepy or whateven. but if u open ur eyes properly, u can see it clearly,the ml never approached the fl before she got under the disguise of guyu. . in comparison to most other cdramas, their relationship is much more mature and not even a bit toxic. he respected her boundaries throughout the whole time. moreover in those times, it was no big deal to marry anyone as long as they are not blood related, leave apart the age difference. moreover there are a hell lot of cdramas about romanticising adopted siblings romance.overall i am loving this series. the chemistry is no joke. people who are here to hate, didn't u all see the trailer? it was very clear over there that this is not some daily topic. why bother to see if u want to spread blind hate?

Good Drama
The story is not a new one but the characters and the chemistry between the ml and fl is there, believe me...their romantic scenes will have you in your feelings. Especially with the ml...he could get most women feeling things and the attractive fl did very well playing the pure young innocent as well as the tougher more mature seductress.The storyline , as i said was nothing new but it was enough to keep me looking forward to the next episode and wanting a happy result for the 2 main characters
Overall its a good drama which i would watch again.

Better than expected
Highly entertaining drama! A lot better than I was expecting it to be. The story was interesting, the ML looked like a man and not a boy, the FL didn't use a baby voice and wasn't irritating, the bad guy was bad, the second ML was adorable, the angst was minimal, the kisses were few but steamy.There's a lot of pearl clutching going on in regards to this drama. And I don't understand why. I don't know how the drama could have made it any clearer, they were not together when she was a child. There was nothing untoward going on between them. Neither of them thought of the other as anything other than family.
Once grown and in the Blood Sacrifice Hall, she came on to him like a cat in heat and she kissed him (as Gu Yu an assassin). She knew for a fact who he was. But he was clueless to her identity because she kept lying and saying she was Gu Yu. If there's a problem with that blame the writers not the actors or even the characters.
As for the age difference... There was nothing creepy about it. I've seen dramas with larger age differences between them. It's odd that a woman can be older than the man (Nothing But You) and that's fine. But if the man is older suddenly he's a pedo and should be tarred and feathered.
If age gap, addressing each other as brother and sister, if falling in love ten years or so later bothers you, then give a hard pass to this drama.
However if you like short dramas, age gap, non blood related brother and sister, a great story, a ML who looks like a man, a 2ML who just wants the FL happy, few but steamy kisses and a good (although a little rushed) happy ending.. then give this one a shot.

Brother. Brother. Brother
Please do ignore the weird ass comments about this drama, it doesn't encourage pedo activities so don't let the comments dissuade you from giving it a watch.Two things can be true at once, yes he raised her since she was a kid and also yes they gained feelings for each other at a later stage, the drama handles this dynamic really well in my opinion if I had to have ONE complain it would be weird that she insists on calling him brother even after they kissed and have had sex, like sis wrap the brother nonsense UP that's your man.
The chemistry between the two leads are so electric like damn it was good to watch and even the fml's dynamic with the secondary male lead was really but in my opinion the story basically making the secondary ml a cuck who watches them get married and kiss way too much for me like damn the story couldn't write in a secondary fml for him to fall in love with?!?!
Overall the story flowed very easily and everything that happened made sense, each action the characters took made sense to them and again cdrama land's addiction to a third act conflict is going to be my thirteenth reason.
When Qi Ze Yu isn't trying to woo Mengchen I find him very enjoyable, with every scene where his being useful and when his having a friendly non romantic conversation with her I found myself warmed me up to him and I left the drama actually liking him and hoping he gets his own happy ending.
Xiaosheng is a amazing ml, at first he handles our fml like a child but once their dynamic shift and they are both on equal footing he treats her as such and the handling of her as adult is there from beginning to end and overall the way he protects and loves her is very pleasing to me and my homegirls. A well written ml he is.
Mengchen is my girl. I have no notes for this character. I liked her off rip, she's very clear in who she is and who she likes and makes it known from jump so the love triangle doesn't feel like she's pulling me in multiple directions, she's smart and can stand up for herself and she's the one who avenges her family so yes I love her very much.
The bad guy did what he needed to do for the plot, he motivations didn't shake the table but was more than enough to move the story along.
In conclusion: watch the drama, it's not too long and the main lead's chemistry is worth every minute you'll give the drama but if you can't past the lead's relationship that's understandable so for everyone else who can get past it, watch the drama.

Fast-paced enjoyable older male, younger female minidrama
I decided to check out this mini drama after seeing short clip on Youtube. I rarely watch dramas with much older male lead and younger female lead so I was curious to see how the story unfold.What I liked:
1. Plot - The series is fast-paced and easy to digest. The villain was set up nicely.
2. Change of leads' dynamics - ML took in FL when she was 10 years old and raised her as younger sister Some reviewers were bothered by the age gap and "sibling" dynamics and claimed that ML had groomed FL. I disagree - Xiaosheng was never inappropriate with Mengshen until he developed romantic feelings for her when she was 20 years old and showed mature behaviour. Xiaosheng and Mengshen were not biologically related so it is ok to become lovers.
3. Romance - Wow, this is one of the few cdramas that show ML and FL being turned on / showing desire. That last scene in episode 15 and early scene of episode 16 were sensual. The actor and actress were not awkward during their intimate scenes, which is good.
4. Qi Ze Yu characterisation - At first I thought his only purpose in the series is just a love rival. Glad that his character was given depth - he was smart and became an ally to both ML & FL. Qi Ze Yu's random English sentences in middle of conversation with Mengchen were amusing.
What I disliked:
1. Mengchen - I disliked that she was rash upon finding out her family's secret. The amount of physical pain inflicted towards ML. Pity him!

Don't let the age difference put you off
I love the setting - Republican Era. I wish we had more C-dramas set in this era instead of the Dynasties. Costumes and set design are lovely.Now, the age difference. I honestly don't know how old ML is supposed to be when he rescues FL or how old FL is supposed to be. The actor looks like he's in his 30s, but the screenwriter/director might want him to be in his 20s when they meet. After all, he does not look 40+ after FL is grown up. There looks to be maybe 10 years difference between ML/FL during the majority of the film so I'm going with that. Also, we need to remember the time period in which this takes place. It was common for older men to marry much younger women. It was only recently that society started frowning on such relationships. Also, I'm going to assume that FL is at least 18 years old, but keep in mind that prior to the 1900s, 15 year olds did marry. They had to - disease & war would wiped out young people as well as old. It was only in modern times that both men and women married later in life. Also, childbirth took out a lot of mothers so the younger you were, probably better your chances of survival. It's important to consider the context and history in which a drama is set and not judge the characters by modern standards.
If you can't handle the age difference, then don't watch it, but I would recommend not even paying attention to the beginning. Just concentrate on the 90% of the drama in which the actor/actress looks close enough in age to not be creepy.

He is a 35+ yr old man who met FL as a 5yr old saved her, raised heras a "brother" and start having "relations" with her when she becomes "of age" 15yrs -17yrs old. This is giving weird Creepy Pedophile grooming vibes, I am very disgusted, I willnot allow myself to be desensitized or brainwashed by PEDO PROPAGANDA, I HATE when Hollywood try this shit too. It will NEVER fly past me dont care what language or culture they try to serve it as.. PEDOPHILIA is PEDOPHILIA #DROPPED 🤮🤮🤮
