Its Good, but I feel like the story lacks depth, or maybe it's just me
The series really, I love the story and everything, but there is just something lacking, I feel like everything in the story was too fast, like the revelation and mystery solved thing, I dont know, I was looking for something more about this series, something more deeper. Nevertheless, this is a very promising action-comedy series, every actors really did a great job portraying their roles, especially the main leads, a must watchWas this review helpful to you?
Don't Expose Your True Identity
The story is about an agent that have to become a student in a school where there is a rumour that gold is being stored during the war era. He must solve several puzzles to get a hint/clue where the gold is located. But in the middle of the mission, a lot of events occurred, and He must protect those high school students. That's where the journey become much more interesting! Was this review helpful to you?
Silly? Yes. Serious? Also yes... Worth the watch? Sure...
Overall 7/10🌟🌟🌟⭐
Killer soundtrack and amazing cast! The drama was entertaining, however, there were a lot of plot holes that ruined the overall vibe at the end. Jeong Haeseong was something else, brother was running off pure adrenaline towards the end - it was crazy! Oh Su-ah has a heart of gold. I loved that she did her best to protect the kids, even if some of her methods were questionable. The NIS squad is what brought the show together. Without their comedic relief, I would have likely dropped the show. I liked that they gave us a glimpse of some of the kids' futures at the end.
Special mention: The actress who portrayed Seo Myeong Ju stole the show; her acting was truly convincing - by far my favourite and most complex character in the show. (I hated the character but loved the portrayal.)
Extra note:
Watching this on VIKI with timed comments was crazy - the comments were lowkey unhinged!

One of my favorite drama
It entered my list of favorite dramas, the story grabs you right away, the main actors were great and had a wonderful chemistry, but also all the actors did an amazing job. This drama made me feel so many emotions, I laughed, I rejoiced and I even cried a lot. I haven't felt so many beautiful emotions with a drama since last year, after watching Lovely Runner, it completely won me over. I'm sure I'll choose to watch it again and I recommend to everyone to watching it because all the actors did an excellent job and it deserves to be seen!!Was this review helpful to you?
Good Story with a mediocre finale
If you want a lot of romance scenes, go pas t this one. It has has slight romance, comedy and a few action scenes. Everything's average, or even below average at some point. But all those average things make it a light watch drama. So if you don't want any complex to watch at times like me, then go for it.If you are looking for a lot of action this ain't for you either, the action scenes are okeish and few in number.
As for the romance, it doesn't have many romance scenes, but at the same time doesn't have any love triangle either. So it's pretty much angst free to watch.

Great Cast, Questionable Mission
If you can suspend your disbelief for about a month straight and overlook a mountain of implausibility, you might enjoy Undercover High School. If not, this drama will test your patience faster than a surprise math exam.Story
At its core, this is a treasure hunt story that requires a secret agent to re-enter high school as a student. Once there, he faces off against a psychotic villain, reconnects with his first love, helps his classmates, and works to solve the central mystery. Along the way, he also confronts and resolves his own personal struggles. There.. you have the entire 12 episode story summed up.
Performances
The show is carried almost entirely by Seo Kang Joon and Jin Ki Joo from the very first episode to the last.
Seo Kang Joon’s secret agent is the heart and soul of the drama. In true main hero fashion, he makes dashing entrances, charms viewers with his striking looks, fights the good fights, and generally dominates the screen.
Jin Ki Joo, in her usual effortless style, stands firmly beside him. Her idealistic teacher deeply loves her students and is willing to go the extra mile for them, making you wish you had encountered at least one such teacher during your own school years. She also brings just the right touch of eccentricity that allows her character to join the hero’s secret mission.
The “domestic four” team is another highlight. Their scenes are consistently hilarious and deserve a special shout-out.
Meanwhile, Kim Shin Rok delivers a memorably unhinged performance as Seo Myeong Ju. The character is unapologetically evil, and is focused solely on her goals and unconcerned about the lives she destroys along the way. She steals, kills, manipulates, and threatens anyone necessary to achieve her aims. She does not even spare her own daughter, let alone others.
The character itself is not particularly complex, but Kim Shin Rok’s powerful performance keeps the villain from becoming one-note. Her cloyingly sweet voice and childish giggles add disturbingly sinister nuances.
The supporting cast also do their part well and contribute to the overall entertainment.
Script
The story attempts to take itself seriously at various points, but mostly fails. It briefly touches on serious issues like school bullying, yet never explores them in depth, which prevents these moments from leaving a lasting impact.
There is also very little romance, and the mystery itself is not particularly compelling. In fact, the drama occasionally seems to forget that the mystery was supposed to be its central focus. Although it includes “whodunnit” elements, the narrative tries to juggle too many tones and genres. As a result, it never fully commits to any of them.
Overall
In the end, the drama lands somewhere between forgettable and mildly watchable. A significant suspension of disbelief is required to enjoy it. If you can manage that, you might find it entertaining enough. If not, it’s probably best to give this one a pass

WATCHED IN TWO DAYS! A REAL GEM
I started this drama with almost no expectations. I only knew the basic premise and nothing more, but I’m really glad I decided to watch it because it turned out to be an exceptional series. The pacing was one of its strongest points. The story moved at just the right speed and never felt boring or dragged out. Each episode had the perfect balance of setbacks, emotional moments, and plot twists, which kept me engaged the entire time.
At first, I was a bit skeptical about one part of the story: the female lead not knowing that he wasn’t actually a student while she was already starting to develop feelings for him. I have to admit that this was the only aspect that made me slightly uncomfortable at the beginning. I kept waiting for her to discover the truth so their interactions would feel less awkward. Still, once the story progressed, the way everything unfolded was handled very well.
The writing of the main villain deserves special praise. She was truly unsettling and unpredictable, and the actress portrayed the character brilliantly. It’s not easy to create a villain that feels both terrifying and believable, but this drama managed to do exactly that.
My favorite part was definitely the platonic relationships between the characters. I loved how the students cared about the female lead and supported her, but most of all, the way they hugged and supported the male lead. Those moments were really touching.
This drama manages to be hilarious at times while also delivering meaningful and emotional moments. That balance is what makes it so special. It’s rare to find a show that can make you laugh, feel deeply connected to the characters, and stay consistently entertaining from beginning to end.
I could honestly talk about the character dynamics and memorable moments all day, but I don’t want to spoil anything for future viewers. All I can say is that this drama is truly a gem and absolutely worth watching.

Cool series
I watched this mainly because of Minju—she’s so pretty and her acting is impressive! Overall, it’s a great series with a solid story and cast. I really hope to see more of Minju, Yoon Chae-bin, Shin Ga-eun, and Jin Ki-joo in future projects—they’re all talented and fun to watch. The chemistry among the cast made it even better. Was this review helpful to you?

So much fun to watch!
So it took me a little bit to get into the show but once I did, I really freaking did! I loved the actors the most O think. Every single actor played their role So well, you get immersed into them. The villainess was creepy and scary, she acted so well, she should be getting awards! I loved the comedic side of this drama and really like the chemistry between the main leads. Spoiler onwards: whilst I guess what the riddles were pointing too, I was freaking thrown by that one massive twist at the end. Tbh, I had sort of forgotten about that aspect of the plot that started the show lool but damn, that was very clever. I really was hit by the sad scenes in this show too, him finally locating his dad had me gasping in shock and sadness, then seeing how the dad got there made an even bigger impact. It really tugged on my heart strings. Basically, this was a great show, worth watching. Was this review helpful to you?
Good-to-watch purely for entertainment
I've seen some reviews about this drama before I write this and glad to see that most of them are the same with me. First of all, the drama is just nice. I mean, this story really has so many flaws and the writing is so bad, honestly. There were some ridiculous moments. And literally, Seo Kang Joon saved this. His chemistry with Jin Ki Joo is soo cuteee tho! Wish they had more moments tbh. And another good part is, the comedy is pretty fun and hilarious 😂😂 I laughed so many times, especially with his team lmao so guys, please watch this without any expectations and just give this a watch purely for Seo Kang Joon, the main leads' chemistry and the comedy and you won't be disappointed ☺️🤧Was this review helpful to you?
The comedic tone might have been a bit too high.
An intelligence agency carrying out a mission without conducting a full background check on the students around the "intelligence agent," the teachers, or even their places of residence? The mission lacks even the most basic preparations. The homeroom teacher's character is somewhat annoying and didn't appeal to me.
The protagonist is decent but slightly immature. Overall, the show has several flaws, but it remains watchable for now.

ML, literally just him
TLDR: the ML is the only reason to watch this show.Overall: This show never quite found its footing with me and I would point to the tone as the driving factor. It didn't know if it wanted to be a funny action comedy or a serious romance and the bullying aspect did not do them any favors when it came to mixing the two. I'm not sure what the obsession is with Korean media and extreme portrayals of bullying but it is pretty difficult to watch at times. I've never been through any Korean schooling so maybe it is that bad but in every depiction I've seen thus far (drama or manhwa) it goes from extreme bullying straight into full on criminal offenses in no time flat. I think bullying is a pretty tough topic to get right, especially when you try to include comedic moments like this show does because its quite jarring to see some kid quite literally left for dead in a dumpster then cut to some quirky music/one liners.
The ML is fantastic and his raw charisma carried me through 5 god awful episodes where everything without him was borderline unwatchable. Acting on point. Character on point. Only good things to say. Deserves better than the FL.
The emphasis on bullying hits the FL's character really hard because you have to remember the show is trying to be a romance so we need to like her. But they also pull the Kdrama trope of making one of the leads completely irredeemable for no reason at the start (so we can see them grow? I guess??). I'm not a teacher but even I was personally offended watching her debate the merits of just letting one of her students get bullied so she can get a full time job. Like what??? We are supposed to like her. After seeing her do that on top of her blatant incompetence before the ML got there (because if its happening then its happened before and she hasn't noticed), I no longer care about her character. Yes she does end up doing the right thing but it shouldn't take a secret agent rolling through your school for you to do that. Just as a teacher it doesn't seem like she cared any more than surface level about the well being of her students from what I saw so pretty difficult to get invested in her character and as a result the show since romance was such a large component.
Last thing I wanted to say was that the writers were clearly competent because there is an excellent portrayal of bullying in the sister's (cousins? I truly forgot her relationship to the ML) friend group. As the audience we get to see how the little comments, remarks, and gestures stack up to be a condescending relationship between the her and the rest of her 'friend' group. This was made even better because we can see how she might brush these things off as no big deal since they included her in the "cool kids club" so she might rationalize some stuff. I loved this portrayal because it hits all the right notes while being completely believable. The vast majority of bullying is not seen. No bully with any functioning brain cells does things that can obviously be traced back to them. Mad props to the person that crafted this portrayal because I feel like it both fits the characters and show really well while also having the IRL impact of showing people that bullying doesn't require you to get punched or something. This is probably the single best portrayal of bullying I've seen in Korean media which makes it so much more frustrating to see the main focus put on the other side where people should've been arrested ages ago.
