One of my favorite drama
It entered my list of favorite dramas, the story grabs you right away, the main actors were great and had a wonderful chemistry, but also all the actors did an amazing job. This drama made me feel so many emotions, I laughed, I rejoiced and I even cried a lot. I haven't felt so many beautiful emotions with a drama since last year, after watching Lovely Runner, it completely won me over. I'm sure I'll choose to watch it again and I recommend to everyone to watching it because all the actors did an excellent job and it deserves to be seen!!Was this review helpful to you?

JUST GOOD NOTHING MORE
I was happy watching it, loved the school dynamic and it was fun when Seo was engaging with the other students!
The actors did good and played their part exceptionally well! They should have dived more into the other characters stories too!
It was termed romance and it was only a fraction of it that was shown, not like I really cared, but I don’t like liars 😭!!
I didn’t watch the last two episodes after seeing one edit and I knew ‘twas something I didn’t want to watch!!
Let my last episodes be at the scene where he saw the body!!
It could have been better but it wasn’t bad either!!

Good Story with a mediocre finale
If you want a lot of romance scenes, go pas t this one. It has has slight romance, comedy and a few action scenes. Everything's average, or even below average at some point. But all those average things make it a light watch drama. So if you don't want any complex to watch at times like me, then go for it.If you are looking for a lot of action this ain't for you either, the action scenes are okeish and few in number.
As for the romance, it doesn't have many romance scenes, but at the same time doesn't have any love triangle either. So it's pretty much angst free to watch.

So much fun to watch!
So it took me a little bit to get into the show but once I did, I really freaking did! I loved the actors the most O think. Every single actor played their role So well, you get immersed into them. The villainess was creepy and scary, she acted so well, she should be getting awards! I loved the comedic side of this drama and really like the chemistry between the main leads. Spoiler onwards: whilst I guess what the riddles were pointing too, I was freaking thrown by that one massive twist at the end. Tbh, I had sort of forgotten about that aspect of the plot that started the show lool but damn, that was very clever. I really was hit by the sad scenes in this show too, him finally locating his dad had me gasping in shock and sadness, then seeing how the dad got there made an even bigger impact. It really tugged on my heart strings. Basically, this was a great show, worth watching. Was this review helpful to you?
Good-to-watch purely for entertainment
I've seen some reviews about this drama before I write this and glad to see that most of them are the same with me. First of all, the drama is just nice. I mean, this story really has so many flaws and the writing is so bad, honestly. There were some ridiculous moments. And literally, Seo Kang Joon saved this. His chemistry with Jin Ki Joo is soo cuteee tho! Wish they had more moments tbh. And another good part is, the comedy is pretty fun and hilarious 😂😂 I laughed so many times, especially with his team lmao so guys, please watch this without any expectations and just give this a watch purely for Seo Kang Joon, the main leads' chemistry and the comedy and you won't be disappointed ☺️🤧Was this review helpful to you?
"Undercover High: Secrets, Suspense & Schoolyard Shenanigans!" (A MUST)
Firstly, "Undercover High School" is an exhilarating blend of action, comedy, and espionage that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats. Seo Kang-Joon shines as Jeong Hae-Seong, an elite National Intelligence Service agent who, after a career stumble, then find himself becoming a high school student to bring back his job back and uncover the corrupt deeds going on at the high school, then also unearthing the mystery of Emperor Gojong’s missing gold. His undercover antics lead to a series of humorous and heartwarming encounters, especially with his homeroom teacher, Oh Soo-A, portrayed by the talented Jin Ki-Joo. Their chemistry is a series of much fun, humourous relationship , adding depth to the narrative of the drama intertwining professional duty with personal history. As Hae-Seong will be navigating teenage dramas, academic pressures, and clandestine operations, we,the viewers will for sure be treated to a rollercoaster of emotions and laughter. (p.s I know it absolutely will cause I know Kangjoon oppa is here, hahahaha just joking lol), i know Kijoo noona will also do amazingly well & other actors and actresses too. Lastly, With its unique premise and stellar cast, "Undercover High School" is a delightful watch that promises both thrills and chuckles. , which i know we the viewers will for sure be able to enjoy a lot.THANK U FOR TAKING UR PRECIOUS TIME IN READING THIS!!!

Surprisingly Charming, Self-Sabotaged in 2nd Half
My 4 categories are Acting/Cast, Writing, Direction/SFX/Music, Entertainment Value.I was planning to watch this simply because of the casting of the leads. I expected it to be bad, though. I was pleasantly surprised, especially since I haven't been having much luck with finding good K-dramas lately.
Acting/Cast: I am impressed by Seo Kang Joon (서강준). He really carried this drama. This was a perfect role for him. His acting performance heavily depends on the script and directing. So, you can tell when he's really liking a role (such as Cheese in the Trap) and when he's hating it (such as The Third Charm). He seemed to really enjoy this role, which is especially evident in his well-done action scenes. Jin Gi Joo (진기주) did great with her character as well. She felt like a unique and realistic person. A problem that K-dramas often have is when the main characters' distinctive personalities fall apart in the second half of the drama. Thankfully, this drama does not have that problem. This drama has pretty good side characters that are well-acted. I've seen that some people didn't like the villain, but I thought she was fine. I like a good over-the-top villain sometimes. It was appropriate for the vibe of the drama. 8/10
Writing: The first half of the drama has a very zany, comic bookish style. I don't normally like that type of style, but it was really working. I say "was" because this style was lost in the second half of the drama. For instance, in the beginning of the drama, there's a car crash scene with the male lead and he miraculously and humorously escapes unscathed. In the second half of the drama, there's another car crash scene with the male lead, but this time it's much more realistic. It was like I was watching a completely different drama. There's another major difference between the two halves of the drama that also plays a part in creating a huge disconnect for me. This issue involves the plot in general. The plot of the first half revolves more around the students in the school and the dynamics between them. This aspect was really interesting to me. The character growth of the various students was going really well. Then, the male lead's cover was blown and he has to leave the school. It's as if the entire first half of the drama was a complete waste. The side characters and all of their growth no longer matter; they have no impact on the story going forward. The main storyline becomes the focus. This is when I started to lose interest, as the main storyline is actually pretty lame (looking for gold hidden in a school). Another reason I started to lose interest is because of the extreme lack of romance. I thought the reason that the male lead was outed as not actually being a teenager was so that they could develop the love story between the leads more without it being weird. Well...don’t hold your breath... 3.5/10
Direction/SFX/Music: This drama has a high production quality as well as a fun OST. There's this music that kept playing that sounded exactly like The Incredibles and I loved hearing it. It’s called City Outlaw (by 김영성 and 박세준) if you’re wondering.
6.5/10
Entertainment Value: I was surprised by this drama's start. It was by far the most entertaining drama that I was watching during the time. Even when the drama fell apart, it was still more entertaining than the others. It sucks, though, when a drama has such a strong foundation and they still fumble it so badly. 4.5/10
Overall, I gave this drama a 5.5/10. A rating of 6 and above would be my recommendation zone. This drama didn't quite make it there and it's all because of the disappointing second half. It's like the writers forgot what they had built up in the first half and decided to try something new. I can say though, that this is one of the best Seo Kang Joon (서강준) roles that I've seen. Maybe even the second best (after Baek In Ho in Cheese in the Trap).

Tried to do everything but ended up doing average in all
The premise is very interesting which got me into watching it in the first place, even though a 31yr old being unrecognized in a high school seems a bit too much, it added to the intrigue.Right off the bat, the cliche bullying subplot was undesirable. Is there really so much bullying going on in schools? Every school drama seems to be showing the same shit.
The childhood love story is a bit overused at this point, and honestly this show didn't need it, it just feels like a plot convenience and an attempt to capture a certain percentage of the demographic as a bonus.
The show presents its story to be really serious and, often gruesome and extreme, yet downplays it with too much comedic relief, so whats even the point?
Certain plot points feel like very shallow thought was given to them, often doesn't making sense in the bigger picture.
Also I feel like the villain's character is interesting and really well portrayed as evil incarnated but no one becomes a villain as it is, they need a proper back story that made them that, here seems to be none. Even at some points her actions doesn't make logically sense or even the motivations behind them are unclear. Its almost like be evil for the sake of being evil.
Towards the end the events became very predictable(maybe because i have already seen too much shit). Like if the gold isn't where its supposed to be then either it actually doesn't exist or its right under your nose. Also as an NIS agent, the ML half-asses his job more often than he can afford, which is conveniently used as a plot device multiple times.
The production team really stressed on the entertainment side, maybe to cater to a larger audience.
All in all, it surely is interesting and entertaining to a 'not so serious' kinda audience.

Welcome back, Seo Kang-joon!
What a good comeback drama for Seo Kang-joon — light, fun, and absurd in all the ways that made K-dramas as big as they are now. These kinds of shows made me start loving K-dramas, so it's always refreshing when I stumble into them every once in a while amid the sea of slice of life or high-stakes dramas. The payoff was so good in this one.Jin Ki-joo was a bit underused, knowing what she's capable of, but I get it that he's the star here. I'm ready for whatever you have next, Seo Kang-joon!!!!

a fun blast from the past...?
Its been a while since dramas like this have been released. It has a mixture of the school series and team comedy. There is subtle romance as well but its not the focus. As with all school series there is involvement of school bullying and a obsessed higher up.The start of the drama was interesting with the introduction of the horror stories and the treasure hunt. In the middle it started becoming a bit draggy with some obvious plot twists and situations. It was a fun drama to binge, both the leads did well. Its been really long since Seo Kang Joon did a drama so it was refreshing to see him.
Overall, you would feel like you are watching a older kdrama after awhile cause it had many similarities. But it was still a fun watch. I might not rewatch it though...

Exciting, Hilarious, and Action-Packed
At first, I didn’t have high expectations for this drama. From the title, I assumed it would be another typical high school story filled with bullying and revenge. However, the plot takes a different turn, following an NIS agent who goes undercover at a high school to recover a lost treasure and restore his reputation. What starts as a simple mission soon leads to unexpected twists and challenges.I was doubtful about how convincing the male lead would be as a high school student. While he has undeniable charm, he looks too mature to pass as a teenager. The same issue applies to the antagonist in the early episodes, who plays a school bully but looks too old for the role. The female lead also feels inconsistent—she acts like a proper teacher with most students but treats the male lead differently, almost to the point of obsession.

Undercover Chaos
I’ll just give a quick review on the first 2 episodes. It starts off strong with an exciting mix of action, mystery, and comedy. The story follows Hae Seong, a National Intelligence Service (NIS) agent, who goes undercover as a high school student to uncover the truth behind an old urban legend and find hidden gold.Seo Kang Joon delivers a powerful performance, bringing intensity and charm to his role. His mere screen presence is enough to captivate us to the drama. He crosses paths with his homeroom teacher, O Su A, played by Jin Ki Joo, whose bold and quirky personality creates a fun and chaotic dynamic between them. Their interactions is promisingly funny and can’t wait to see their chaos.
The first two episodes set up an intriguing plot with a great balance of action, suspense, and lighthearted moments. The cast’s chemistry and engaging storytelling keeps us hooked. Looking forward to seeing how the story unfolds!
