Strong start
The cast was good acting funny. The story was good in the beginning but the latest episode felt meaningless boring and I kind of fastword the last 4 episodes... So not re watching. They good have ended the story better a lot of missed opportunities by telling a weak story romance between the ML and FL.. The other charachters could had more of a storyline and that where it got boring because the last 4 episodes felt like I want to know more about the headmaster the mother of the FL.. the relationship between the daughters of the nis and headmaster...

A superb action comedy with superb acting from main leads
This is one of my favorite k-dramas of all time from now on.The story is compelling, the acting is superb, progression is good throughout the drama without any huge down periods or boring parts.
Seo Kang Joon's character got both a very serious side and a goofy side which makes it perfect fit for the drama setting.
He shows strong compassion towards his new found friends going undercover and has to juggle mission priority and his own emotional feelings.
Side characters are all pretty strong I would say.
Seo Kang Joon's NIS colleagues have a strong impact with also some very good comedy here and there.
The villains of the story are good, not amazing but good.
The biggest accomplishment in this drama is Jin Ki Joo playing O Su A. Her acting was legendary I would say in this drama.
It's the smaller things that makes it so amazing, her small movement with her head, eyes, voice everything adds to both the serious part of the drama but especially the comedy parts of it.
I laughed so hard from all her tiny movements during the comedy parts. Not many actors know how to use their face and body to add to acting, she nailed it in this drama.
For an action comedy this is one of the best in the K-drama category for me.
The drama is fast paced without many boring parts like many dramas today, it got really good acting, ML+FL are both so good and have perfect chemistry throughout the drama.
All 12 episodes was filled with excitement.
If you enjoy action comedies this is one of the best out there.

Seo Kang Joon Slayed Again!
Seo Kang Joon Slayed another one of his drama. He's an amazing actor that can express feelings in an incredible way. Well tbh all actors gave their best but Seo Kang is definitely higher.A of why I gave this drama 9.5 ☆ is just because there's something missing... and by something missing i mean.. it's a shame that at the end after the whole case is solved we don't get to see the MC and his "classmates" relationships.. I mean.. they get to know the whole truth who he is etc.. and we just get the simplest goodbye.. so it's the only point I won't give it 10☆ But still it was an amazing drama!

A great light, fun watch!
I am actually surprised by how much I enjoyed this drama! They managed to pull off every genre flawlessly, especially the comedy, which I usually find dumb and over-the-top in many predominantly funny/comedic K-dramas. In this one, I found myself laughing out loud many times!I mean I enjoyed it so much that I put off watching the 2 last episodes because I wanted more and didn't wanna say goodbye...!
I only had two issues with this drama that could have given it an even higher rating!
One was that the FL took too long to find out that he was not a student, even though she suspected it quite early. The revelation should have happened around episode 4 to avoid any iffy situations!
The second was the childhood connection—it was unnecessary and added nothing to the plot.
All in all, this was a great light drama that you can binge-watch easily without getting bored!

One of the best drama in early 2025
I have to admit I am not a fan of any of the actors here. I am just watch to fulfill my leisure time as I disnt have any kdrama that make me hook. I tried to watch the first episode and suprisingly am hook on it and continue watch the 2nd episod. Damn I stay and lokoking forward for next next episode.I rarely warch Seo Kang Joon work but this time he nail it. Action comedy suit him well. Last time I watched hin in cheese in the trap but his acting there not meer my expectation. But here with his masculine, mature and sharp feature suit with this kind of character. And with his acting skill is so on point, he can be mature, goofy, non chalant, hyper and more. His acting range here is wide.
Jin Kijoo also shine here. She is not a typical fl. She strong and independent.
I love this kind of story and it kind rare. Yeah got some of it is klise but overall the premise is really good.

fun light and entertaining
I really like the drama and cast, leads have great chemistry and I hope to see more romance than just small interactions, tbh mission is not so serious to be main and important plot of the series so if the romance was in more focus it would be even better. I really like that fl isn't some helpless and weak character as they usually write them, and she's as active as ml. It's also funny without much cringing and I like that conversations between leads are not so dramatized, they communicate well.Childhood trope was also nicely executed not overdone or some kind of weirdly shoved into the plot.

Good start but second half is dull
writers need to stop with childhood connection trope or atleast they should introspect if that trope will suit the genre of the story. tbvh second half is bad. No creativity in screenplay , dialogues and the story was too predictable in midway of series. Cliche situations and dialogues. Didn't get comedy right, neither suspense, thrill, romance. This drama makers played too safe and tried to pack all in one but couldn't get any aspect rightWas this review helpful to you?

NIS Agent turned Student?
Honestly I get why this drama is disliked, But i honestly enjoyed every single bit of it. I loved how they revealed that he's the NIS agent in the beginning so it wouldn't have been weird seeing a teacher and student together. And Seo kang joon's eyes and hottness are a seperate genre!. The romance was definitely toned down. They had just one accidental kiss and like a kiss when proposed at the very end. The childhood friends was very cliché , They could've kept them strangers. I love the NIS agent team , their so unhinged like you would think it's gonna be serious thriller and they're gonna do alot of serious stuff. But there wasn't a single serious scene and i couldn't stop laughing. Whatever Hae song does is just edit worthy dialogues. I think if their were more episodes they could've worked on the students bond. As i didn't feel the connection when he bid farewell to the students, like come on you only talked to Dong min. The chairwoman did an amazing job, like I kinda was like mam you do not have the rights to be this good at acting. Some of my favourite scenes are Haesong turns himself in like he was soo hot in that scene, and when he apologized before hitting the policemen ,wow sir!. The ghost part should've been replaced with something actually believable, i mean it was hard to work out and make sense. I actually felt so bad when Haesong finds his dad in the same school he went undercover too, like the watch with the coat was just so miserable. I loved that the students came and payed their respect when he has no one . I loved the ending that shows how the students are doing in the present. The last ever dialogue is my favourite dialogue in the whole drama, that is:"If you think about it treasures aren't that far away, my treasure are these people" - Haesong/Si Hyun.
I love how he dedicates "his treasure" as the family he found, they may not be related in blood but they sure are family. If you like comedic thriller , unhinged scenes that makes you laugh so much, a little bit of cute romance to giggle, and a found family trope you'd definitely would love this one!. I would definitely recommend this drama.

What makes it stand out is its balance: exciting action, well-timed comedy, and twists that keep the suspense alive until the very end. There are no filler episodes; each one adds tension, mystery, or a new revelation. That ability to hold the viewer’s attention is one of its strongest points.
The characters bring real depth: Jeong Hae-seong (Seo Kang-jun) is not just a tough agent but a man facing his own vulnerabilities; teacher Oh Su-a (Jin Ki-joo) adds warmth and nostalgia; while the school chairwoman injects mystery and high-stakes tension. Together, they create a drama that goes beyond surface-level entertainment.
Bottom line: Undercover High School is one of those dramas you binge without realizing it. It grabs you from the first episode and doesn’t let go until the very last. A smart mix of action, humor, and heart that’s absolutely worth watching.

When a handsome, down-on-his-luck government agent (Seo Kang Joon) goes undercover as a student at a swanky private high school, he stirs up plenty of trouble (and interest) as he struggles to balance his mission with issues he encounters at the school — including bullying, power-tripping rich kids, suspicious school officials, and a certain female teacher (Jin Ki Joo) who’s determined to keep an eye on the new “problem student.”
Pairing leads from two of my favorite dramas (“Are You Human Too?” and “The Secret Life of My Secretary”), I was looking forward to this show, and it didn’t disappoint.
Seo Kang Joon brings a certain intensity to his roles that works well for the male lead, Jeong Hae Seong. You get the sense that even though he might look like the strong, silent type, there are a lot of emotions simmering beneath the surface.
Part of an intelligence team tasked with locating stolen cultural treasures, Agent Jeong looks effortlessly cool and confident on the job but also has moments of being awkward, easily embarrassed, and overwhelmed by his emotions. At heart, he’s just a nice guy with a lot of empathy who also happens to have some impressive fighting skills.
His character is multifaceted and gets more of a backstory than Jin Ki Joo’s female lead, Oh Su A, a teacher who’s caring and determined to make a difference for her students, but a bit silly. However, she does get some character growth, and JKJ gives a charming performance. The two of them have a playful, somewhat goofy dynamic that’s fun to watch, even though the romance takes a back seat to other plot elements.
There are also plenty of interesting characters besides the leads, particularly Chairwoman Seo. She’s a terrifying and formidable villain without being one dimensional. Her daughter, the student council president, is also a well-written and layered character— infuriating and pitiful at the same time.
Although this series does touch on a few serious topics (including the previously mentioned bullying and self-harm), it’s an entertaining watch that’s exciting from the get-go, doesn’t take itself too seriously, and offers lots of laughs, all without stretching out the story with too many episodes. Plus, everything gets wrapped up with a satisfying ending where the main characters each get their own little epilogue. Recommended!

seo kangjoon really sold the undercover chaos
It totally caught me off guard in the best way! I went in expecting just a goofy undercover setup, but ended up loving the mix of comedy, mystery, and heartfelt moments. Seo Kangjoon was hilarious and surprisingly touching as an agent pretending to be a high schooler, it gave me so many laugh-out-loud scenes and sweet little moments of connection with the students. It’s a light, fun watch that doesn’t take itself too seriously, and honestly, that’s exactly what made it so enjoyable
