Season 2 lacking everything that made Squid Game such a good series.

I was so hyped for Season 2. Squid Game was one of my all time favorite Korean dramas.

Season 1 had everything.
* Good acting
* Deep stories behind contestants
* Good characters with good sympathy characters and villains, like you could really feel what they felt, the despair and sadness and anger with the villains.
* Mystery about literally everything

Season 2 ruined pretty much everything about all of this.
* The acting was so bad from many of the characters it became annoying.
* The stories about characters was shallow and overall so boring.
* Characters was just so boring, there was no good villain (thanos was a joke)
* Literally zero mystery, it's a pure open book about everything which just made it boring.
* The games? Like what, zero suspense, I did not get drawn into a single game compared to first season where i felt i was in the game myself.

I don't know why they decided to just go in 180 degree about everything in Season 2.
It felt like a bad ripoff where they wanted to involve everything "new" to cater to young people. Like bitcon, so many young shallow characters etc.

I have zero hopes about the last part will save this horrible season 2, I am just so sad they ruined the series this bad.

A superb romcom without the stupid typical romcom storyline

I just got around to watch this and it’s one of my favorite romcoms.

Park Min-young is the queen of these kind of romcoms. But this was outstanding.
The chemistry between the ML and FL felt genuine and real. From the facial expressions to small body gestures. It was just so good.
And the best part, there is no typical annoying “something happens so they break up for 3 episodes and then get back together”. I was so happy to not have to watch that annoying part that’s in most Korean romcoms.

It also has plenty of good humor and storyline is exciting without going overboard.

This romcom just gets to your heart and stays there. It’s simply outstanding in every way.

A superb action comedy with superb acting from main leads

This is one of my favorite k-dramas of all time from now on.

The story is compelling, the acting is superb, progression is good throughout the drama without any huge down periods or boring parts.

Seo Kang Joon's character got both a very serious side and a goofy side which makes it perfect fit for the drama setting.
He shows strong compassion towards his new found friends going undercover and has to juggle mission priority and his own emotional feelings.

Side characters are all pretty strong I would say.
Seo Kang Joon's NIS colleagues have a strong impact with also some very good comedy here and there.

The villains of the story are good, not amazing but good.

The biggest accomplishment in this drama is Jin Ki Joo playing O Su A. Her acting was legendary I would say in this drama.
It's the smaller things that makes it so amazing, her small movement with her head, eyes, voice everything adds to both the serious part of the drama but especially the comedy parts of it.
I laughed so hard from all her tiny movements during the comedy parts. Not many actors know how to use their face and body to add to acting, she nailed it in this drama.

For an action comedy this is one of the best in the K-drama category for me.
The drama is fast paced without many boring parts like many dramas today, it got really good acting, ML+FL are both so good and have perfect chemistry throughout the drama.

All 12 episodes was filled with excitement.
If you enjoy action comedies this is one of the best out there.

Could not stop watching it

It's been a long time since I found a K-drama that I could just not stop watching.
I just love this drama, especially the humor and acting. I have not laughed so much watching a K-drama in I don't even remember how long its been.

It was sooo refreshing to finally watch a drama that just made me feel good, i even rewatched several parts that was just pure golden.

The current average rating is so much below what I personally rate this, if you want a "lighthearted" drama that both got drama parts but especially some of the best comedy acting In a long time, watch it.

A really bad remake of a REALLY good Chinese Drama

I am always sceptical towards remakes but also looking forward to them with the hope of them doing a fair job of the original.
This fell flat on its head. If this was a standalone korean drama It would be average, now when you compare it to the original it feels so shallow in every single way.
After I finished this remake I went back and re-watched Go Ahead and confirmed it again, how superior Go Ahead is.

Go Ahead is one of my favorite Chinese dramas, even that had flaws in the storyline which was fairly annoying. But it was overall a GREAT drama.

Go ahead obviously changes some things here and there which is common in a remake and I don't mind that.

I have several issues with the drama personally.
Acting: The acting is no where near the level of the Chinese drama.
Go ahead managed to show such intense emotions you could literally feel the sorrow deep within you. I hardly felt that all with this, everything felt so shallow and "fake"

Meanwhile the comedic parts was nowhere near Go Ahead, you could see they tried to bring it in but not even close, and some parts were just so horribly bad and fake it was sad to watch.

The progression was WAY to fast, I thought Go Aheads youth pace was way to fast. This just plows through stuff. Obviously Korean dramas are not as long as typical Chinese dramas, but it felt bad after watching the original.

It was a good try, but not no where near good enough.

If you only watched this Korean remake I STRONGLY suggest you watch the original Go Ahead.

A good series with a worse Season2 and a story without conclusion

First of all, i LOVED season1. The characters was all very good, the story progressed very nicely.
However, Season2 just removed pretty much most good characters.

Stella(Stephanie Lee) was a perfect character. She was quirky funny and her English is native speaking.
When she was replaced by sally in Season2 it was a huge downgrade. Not at all the same funny quirky character, she had some funny parts but overall not anywhere near Stella. The worst part was they tried to replace Stella with another "English" speaker but Sallys English is so bad its just annoying.

Also the loss of Cha Soo Ho(Lee Yi Kyung) was huge, he was a perfect fit and he was cemented as the main Police connection in the story. His love interest in Stella was also so fun and made a fun interaction between then two.

In Season2 the main Police connection lead was mild and lacked in most ways.

Kang Dong Sik was the most annoying character in the series, and it was much worse in Season2, over acting and just annoying.

The best part of both seasons is Baek Beom, I love series with someone smart and how they find things others don't etc. And his acting was consistent and good in both seasons.

Here is why i can't recommend this series.
The show has pretty much a main story throughout Season 1+2, and the show ended without anything at all getting solved. It was literally one of the worst endings every in a Kdrama, that is even worse than Vagabond ending.
It was obviously setup for a Season3, that never happened and never will. It's been 5 years now.

I understand the high ratings if they made review after the show came out, but someone that watched the show in 2024 it's way to high given that the show ends without any conclusion at all.

Avoid.

Pretty standard rom-com without anything special.

It was a good watch, it was a pretty standard rom-com kdrama.
Some comedy here and there, some drama here and there.

Nothing outstanding, but not bad either.
Im Yoon Ah is stunning as always and she does fit the role very well.
Lee Jun Ho also fit the role pretty well, and the chemistry was pretty good between them.

I was afraid it would take the normal boring LETS BREAK UP and then spend the next 2 Episodes doing nothing and then get back together last episode. It did take a spin towards that but not as typical boring kdrama romcom so thats a plus.

If you want a pretty lighthearted romcom then its for sure worth a watch.
