Unexpected
The trailer of this drama looked very interesting but I am not satisfied with this drama. First there are many rooms for improvement. I don't know how the script writers created this series but feeling like this is their first time . First few episodes were good but then everything became messy. Most disappointed point is the acting. The actors are definitely not professional at all , felt like they were telling us scripts. Heavy make ups on their face especially the MC really looked bad . The wuxia part was really funny , there are so many things which made that part stage play . But the most satisfied part was their historical costumes and modern costumes. Their visuals were great especially the ML's . Their friends were supportive, so many positive characters, beautiful OST .Overall a Not Bad or so so types of drama. They should improve the wuxia part more .

"Reunited by Love": The Sex, The Snooze, and The WTF
Okay. I need to breathe. Deeply. Inhale, exhale, because this review is about to go OFF. I came into this show expecting fireworks, drama, chaos, and maybe a few tears. What did I get? A lukewarm cup of instant fluff that couldn’t even stir my emotions. But let’s get into it because I have thoughts, and y’all are gonna hear them.---
The Plot That Wasn’t: Snoozefest 2KForever
So, the premise? Cute. Childhood reunion vibes, Obaun and Shan reconnecting after years, yada yada, blah blah. Sweet? Sure. Engaging? Nope. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not terrible, but it’s also not giving anything. Like, where’s the spice? Where’s the DRAMA? 12 episodes and not one solid oh shit moment. No complications, no stakes, no real progression. Sis, even my morning coffee has more tension.
And don’t get me started on missed opportunities. They could’ve gone FULL enemies-to-lovers. Picture this: Obaun accused of plagiarizing Shan’s work. The company forces them to collab to clean up the mess, and BAM—awkward cohabitation, passive-aggressive shade, and eventual smooching. Obaun? Arrogant and icy. Shan? Feisty and chaotic. Imagine the banter! The tension! The inevitable 'I-hate-you-but-let’s-make-out' vibes. BUT NO. We got soft, mushy, forgettable instead.

TutorYim: My Kings, Why Did They Do You Dirty?
Let’s be real: as a TutorYim stan, I came for them, stayed for them, and… left kinda disappointed. Look, the chemistry is there—it always is—but they deserved more. Better material, stronger conflict, literally ANYTHING to show off their acting range.
Oh, but let me tell you, the sex scenes? WHEW. Saved the whole damn series. Like, is it art? Is it plot-relevant? No, but who cares? Sometimes we just wanna see pretty people be hot together. Sue me.
---
Gems x Mark: Cute, But Did We Need It?
Now let’s talk about the side couple. First of all, is it just me or does Gems look like Nat’s long-lost twin? Like, I had to pause and squint. “Nat, is that you, babe?” Anyway, Gems and Mark? Adorable. BUT Mark, sweetie, you were a walking red flag in that whole Nat drama, so it’s hard to root for you. Still, their chemistry is decent, and I enjoyed their moments.
What I did not enjoy? That terrible Chinese dubbing. Like, WHY. Just hire actors who can deliver the lines naturally, or let the Thai actors speak the little Mandarin they can. The cringe was REAL, and I had to skip through those parts because I couldn’t handle it. Who approved this? They need a stern talking-to.
---
The "WOW" Factor That Never Showed Up
Look, the series isn’t bad. It’s just… meh. No wow moments, no standout performances (aside from TutorYim doing what they could with what they had). It’s not cringe, but it’s not memorable either. It’s just there. Like, will I rewatch? Nah. Well… maybe for the sex scenes, LOL.
---
Final Thoughts: A Fluffy Letdown
Overall? It’s cute, but it’s not iconic. It’s the kind of show you watch once, go “aww, that’s nice,” and then forget about by the next BL drop. The plot was a missed opportunity, the side couple was okay-ish, and the dub scenes? Unforgivable.
Final rating: 6.5/10. Watch it if you’re bored. Or horny. Or both. Otherwise, skip it and go rewatch Bad Buddy.

good, not great but didn’t regret watching
Before watching this drama, although I never like to read reviews and make up my mind for myself, I did see mixed reviews and ratings without reading them too much. It was my first Tutor and Yim BL after seeing them in Cutie Pie and Naughty Babe (I tried to watch Middleman’s Love but… I just couldn’t…). I genuinely liked this drama! Although the writing was a bit hit and miss sometimes and the storyline was a little confusing, I did enjoy it and I’m in awe by Tutor. Although I was a bit confused at first, when I understood it, my favourite thing about the drama has to be when the 5 writers are all sat together around the table, looking adorable in their pyjamas, animal outfits and their hairs styled cutely. I loved the fact they’re actually just chatting in their chat room but it shows them as sat around the table talking.I wish the story had a bit more of a rhythm, maybe a bit more leading up to Shan and Oab-aun’s relationship, but I felt like it rushed too much into it and suddenly they were in love and didn’t develop much from then. However, Tutor… TUTOR!! He genuinely distracted me from the episodes a few times, that man is extremely beautiful. And the kissing scenes with him and Yim, I felt like they both put their heart and souls into those kissing scenes, they were amazing! (Tutor ain’t got those lips for nothing! 🤭) Especially Episode 7! The amount of squeals that I did, I couldn’t. Overall, this drama was good! I felt like the writing could be a little better but I definitely don’t regret watching it and I would recommend it.

Where's the battle??
First time writing a review...First of, I adore tutoryim, they are my favourite bl ship and I'm honestly happy to watch whatever they are in.
This series isnt bad but for me its meh. There were a lot of unnecessary scenes and then scenes that actually mattered were all jampacked and so rushed.
But all in all, they are all cute, every one had their happy ending although i was hoping for a tragic ending for the novel world because it seemed more fitting for a period drama with forbidden love... I wish they gave us more Sin and Jingjang but oh well...
The one thing this series did was show just how much of good actors tutoryim are and their chemistry. Domundi better stop wasting their potential and give them a series with a big production so they can shine more.

This is so overhated!
This is my first time writing a review, either the drama is so good or so bad I never give any feedback but for this one, there were too many negative reviews. I watched it and it was good, got me hooked. I finished this in a really short time and mind u I watched this DURING my exams. Still I finished it so quickly. Tho it had potential to be better and there were some plot holes,, overall it's not bad! The reviews are over-hating.Was this review helpful to you?
a cute and lighthearted bl
it's a very sweet and warm series to enjoy whenever you're looking for something to chill and relax. it has a decent plot and the chemistry between the actors is also very natural and not forced. I like how versatile it is and how it has a lot of humours moments. it's definitely a nice watch to calm your nerves and enjoy something cozy and cute.the visuals of the actors are also pretty insane like every shot is so gorgeous. one thing I didn't quite enjoy were some unnecessary love scenes between the side characters (which i generally don't mind however for this series it kinda felt like it was out of place and quite randomly squeezed in) but overall it's a fun bl to pass some time.

Enjoyable, but Not the Perfect BL Series
I gave the Battle of the Writers with 9/10 stars because in my opinion, this BL Series is good, did it job, but not to the perfection. The series' sypnosis talks about a writer (Obun/Little Prince) being accused by another writer (Shan)'s fans of plagiarizing his work, but it is not the truth. The Battle of the Writers title, is not fitted to what really happened to this BL Series. Because to be honest, they did not fight because Shan himself know that Obun did not plagiarize his work. In the first few episodes, Obun and Ozone just clarified to Shan the side of Obun (Clarifying that he did not plagiarized).
That's the start of the story, but the plot revolves around a group of writers, working together to create the best and most legendary Boys Love Novel. Through their journey of writing that novel, Shan and Obun worked-out their relationship and tackled and found-out about their past. Furthermore, Ozone found-out that his editor/boss (Pie) is in love with him, which is an additional spice to the story.
Problems to the story arise, like Intouch trying to meddle between the relationship of Shan and Obun, because he likes Shan. Obun finding-out on what happened to his family in the past, which is correlated with the family of Shan. Pie wanting to avoid Ozone by assigning another editor for him. And in the latter part, since Obun is working on two novels; his own novel and the novel that the 5 of them are working on, he mistakenly uploaded the new chapter of his own novel to the novel that they are working on.
Yes, I agree that the story has many plot holes, but the main problem for me is the editing. Since there are many things that are happening in the story, such as the story that is happening in the main couple, the story that is happening in the novel that they are working on, the story of the side couples, and then the scenes wherein they are chatting in their group chat (But this is brilliant because we can see the difference between the real world and when they're talking in the group chat), the episodes look crowded. I wish that they lessen the MANY THINGS that are happening in each episodes. Avoid the many unnecessary things so that the viewers can understand it more.
The NC Scenes are not necessary, but I would like to highlight those, because they are all so good! They are all straight out of the p*rn sites, I must say. The actors did their best on each scene and it paid off very well.
Thankfully, the casts are great and they carried the script well. In totality, once again, it is not perfect. But I will recommend it to other watchers.

fun concept, (partially) messy execution
Times watched: 2xThe first time I watched this series I was still quite tainted by „Middleman‘s Love“. Back then it definitely affected my perception of Tutor and Yims characters in this series.
The first five episodes were solid. The back and forth between the fictional world and ‚reality‘ felt very fluid, was cool to see and made sense, the plot was built up nicely and I had my good fun with it. So I already was like: „wow. I am so glad I am rewatching this. This is so fun“
But then it got messy, unfortunately. So here‘s what I disliked:
That Sin went on vacation was out of nowhere. Before as well as after his little side quest he was only relevant on a side character level. If there would‘ve been some build up to him going there and it affecting the plot of their novel I‘d be fine with it. But like this… it felt a little like a waste of my time. The couple‘s chemistry was good, though. So why not use it?
Then they introduced the „enemy“ Intouch/Mohly. He was teased a bit but it was so subtle I definitely did not pick up on it on my first watch. His introduction was too late and too soft. I wouldn‘t even call him an enemy, let alone a (love) rival. He wasn‘t petty and jealous enough. All the problems he created were resolved… quickly and quietly.
The plot of their novel/fictional world got a bit confusing as well (when all we got for a while were the NC scenes). I couldn‘t follow it anymore, I didn‘t know what it was trying to tell me. Did it still have a connection to the ‚reality‘ plot? Idk. Wasn‘t there something about plagiarism in it too? Where did that go?
At least in the ‚real‘ world they got back on track, somehow. So the last 2.5 episodes were solid again.
Unfortunately the acted out chat room reminded me every time that Sin and especially Jao Samut were kind of just there and forgotten. I wished they were more actively included, so their little storylines would not feel so out of place and unnecessary. Either completely turn them into side characters or make enough room for them.
But there were definitely more things that I liked:
- the concept is fantastic. I love it.
- the production value was high and you could see it.
- Tutor and Yim were so fun to watch, their lovey dovey acting felt so natural. There‘s still potential upwards but more on the side of writing and directing.
- The NC scenes that were written for the fictional world being the more spicy ones (at first) made me giggle, a subtle but nice touch.
- Shan and Ob Aun‘s childhood story was good. And the actors portraying them did a very good job in my opinion.
- Shan‘s character felt the most consistent in the way he always could provide guidance in what to do in times of crises.
- The chat room being acted out was actually a cool touch, since they couldn’t really meet in person. Also showing how the room represents the mood of the group. Them being in Pyjamas or onesies to represent their avatars/icons. Fun.
- Ozone and Pie‘s story drew all the attention to them at some point. And it worked so well. Mark and Gems really created great chemistry. I needed more of their story.
- The part with the accidental posting of the wrong pen name and then how they resolved this mishap was stimulating my brain. They should‘ve made that a longer part of the plot where Intouch would play a bigger part in it as well.
It‘s always so frustrating to see the potential the story could‘ve had:
- I would‘ve loved it if the 5yes and their love interests all would‘ve appeared in the fictional world in some way. A way that made sense.
Generally it would‘ve made sense if the personal life of each 5yes member would have influenced their (part of the) story (a little more than we were shown):
- for Ob Aun, Shan, Ozone and Pie it doesn‘t need much more but for Sin, Jingjang and Jao Samut it would‘ve made sense so their parts wove into the rest of the plot better.
- That sometimes the fictional plot will tease or parallel things that have not happened yet/are happening in the ‚real‘ plot. Like the Snake King/Pie falling for his employee/disciple while Ozone/Shin‘er having no idea about it. Or Ob Aun starting to remember some parts of his childhood. Or the proposal.
Overall it was enjoyable. It was worth the one rewatch. Won‘t return to this for a while though.
And Thank You for reading until the end. <3

sweetest love story? - yes, sugar level up to the Moon? - yes
WATCH IT, IF YOU NEED SUGAR AND SPICE IN YOUR LIFE.There's nothing special about the story, I couldn't point out the acting performance to anyone, it's max. Shan who's more talented than the others.
Despite all this, the chemistry between the main couple works very well. The kissing scenes are crazy, and the costume drama part is the spice. A lot of scene will make the viewer thirsty in the series. Oh, and watch the uncut version, ep. 9 is wild.

Nice but nothing more
There are some gaps in the story, for example it's not well told who travels when, where and why. I also find the story about InTouch very flat and where does sin's friend randomly come from in the last ep?However, we are rewarded with some nice moments and as viewers we are involved in the writing process of a novel, where they get the inspiration etc. from. I also think the idea of visualizing the group chats is great, unfortunately it didn't work out so well (why do they always wear such random costumes and look very childish?).
The acting is solid to good, the performance of per (inTouch) really bothers me. Two points really convinced me: the acting of the main couple (since it was the first series of the two that contained more than just soft scenes and everything fit very well) and the performance of the “second” lead couple o+p.
Overall I would probably give it a solid 5.5.

Flap of the heart
I just discovered that I haven't expressed an opinion on this drama. Maybe until now I'm affected by the story, events and music, but I have to thank them for showing me that no matter how sincere and heartfelt love is, it will remain sincere until it finds someone to truly love. Maybe many don't believe this. Is there anyone who would wait that long to get to know someone they loved when they were young? That's why I'm currently suffering because this drama is ending, but I'm sure I'll go through all these feelings again when I watch it again. I advise everyone to watch it and experience these feelings.🥲🥲Was this review helpful to you?
All for the eye-candy
First of all, I had watched the pilot trailer or something and got intrigued by the concept as I love story linked with writers and maybe some Wuxia elements with Thai actors..? However I was a bit too disappointed by the plot/script in general and I'm quite shocked by giving a 7, I thought I would give it a 6, I'm not joking.I think, the way they edited some scenes and even executed them it was not well done, it was sometimes even over the place, awkward and a bit cringy.. I don't know.. I feel like I was not that excited, something was a bit off. Some characters were not that important, they had less screentime, it's a pity because it feels they were here just because they are in a supporting role.
I had kind of high expectations because it looks expensive in terms of the quality of the production. It's indeed pleasing to the eyes with the high quality of the cinematography (settings, costumes, the lightning that reminds me of DMD's productions). Ok I loved that, I had to admit.
The acting was a bit better, sometimes way too unbelievable, the chemistry was indeed on point and all the OST were super nice to listen, I have to applaud the fact that they were singing in mandarin chinese, it was a nice effort!!
However, I won't remember much of this serie (except the fact that the intimate scenes were kind of unforgettable but you see I don't want to remember a serie just for their NC scenes) and I won't watch it again. I really hope to see TurtorYim and other actors / pairings with a new plot that can really grab my attention.
