Beware of petty chefs

A cute little watch. It was pretty fun.

Acting:

Pretty solid all around. Casting was good. Sailub was a fantastic chef and Pon was a little rascal dumbass fr. Nothing was really outstanding but there wasn’t anything bad. Overall, good performances for the story.

Writing:

I liked the cooking competition storyline; it was fun. I think the pacing made sense for the plot. I don’t understand the immediate move to engagement, but okay. I also don’t understand how quickly bro left that new restaurant, either. It felt a little bit rushed towards the end, but not atrociously so. I just think this may have worked better as a 10 rather than 8 episode series, but it’s still pretty good as is.

Chemistry/Romance/Kissing:

There was pretty good chemistry between these two dudes. I was a bit surprised because of the whole goofball x cold dude thing. This was a pretty good romance story, nothing revolutionary, but still enjoyable. The kissing in this was superb. Truly perfect, good work out there boys.

NC Scene:

Lowkey took me by surprise because there hadn’t been one earlier in the show. Solid work. Sailub got that finesse, that sensuality, that passion. I like that. Pon was a bit weak in that regard, though. But he plays a good tease/infatuated person.

Music/SFX:

Music was good, nothing really stood out as amazing or bad. The SFX were solid, both the real cooking ones and the goofy drama ones.

This was a cute little watch, I enjoyed it.

Better than expected

This was better than expected, but overall it's still an average, typical thai romcom BL.

Let me start with this: I am SO glad that Supanut was not in this series, because I was able to focus on the cast (unlike in Pit Babe, where I only saw, felt, loved, hated Way, thanks for that Nut)...

All in all, I already kind of made notes of Benz, Sailub and Lee in Pit Babe, so I was happy to see all of the here.

CAST:
I loved everyone, except Pon's character... I think I've seen almost all of Pon's work, and I yet have to see a character of his that I like. Nothing against Pon, he is OK, but his characters just irritate me...

The rest, I was having a blast with. Benz is a new addition to my fav list, and I loved Methas so much! His happy smile was everything, I would re-watch the whole series just to see him happy again. Benz's acting is very very balanced, I loved watching all of Methas' sides (loved how layered this character was, not the usual black and white villain).

Garfield took me in fast too, surprisingly, because in Pit Babe he was a bit meh for me, but loved him here. His acting and their chemistry with Benz was FIRE...

Sailub, OMG I already loved Alan but Oab? His acting was just sooooo on point, his range of emotions he can display only with his eyes is amazing, and he's got great comic timing too. Another addition to my fav actor list.

Lee... I just love him. I need to see him in a lead role, any role (REALLY looking forward to I am the most beautiful count). SO TALENTED, I'd say second best to Supanut in this bunch (fight me, idc but Supanut is a superior actor, and not just under Change2561 but all in all, and no one can convince me otherwise).

STORY:
It was ok, there were some scenes I cringed or just fast forwarded a bit (boring, filler etc etc), but I am glad I watched this series, it did make me laugh and I enjoyed it.
The first few episodes were a bit of a drag, but once they got into the stories, it picked up.

Despite the averageness, I still think Change2561 is producing quality stuff, the direction is ok, picture and sound too, and music was also ok, esp the songs not sung by the cast members... (sorry, but I will never understand why the thai BL industry must force these boys to sing, even the ones, who CAN'T... it should be normalized for these boys / men to NOT sing).

The main couple had one problem for me: Wan... his character REALLY irritated me, but Pon and Sailub's chemistry was great, and it helped a lot tbh, but not enough apparently, because the second couple took the show for me, I ADORED them every second they were on screen.

Sorry for the messy review, it's almost midnight and I just finished watching it.

Honestly I've seen worse, but I've seen way way better too

I never write reviews because I'm not as accurate as some of you guys are, and some reviewers here are very professional and helpful. But this BL sent me into a rage fit every time something was off, and I opened the comments only to see people just loving every aspect of it.

The overall drama could have gotten a 6, but I had to take that 0.5 off because of one character in particular.

The story itself was lacking in so many ways, the main character's first 5 minutes set him up to being someone that you most likely wouldn't like if you met him in real life. The only realistic evolution of a relationship is the one between the second couple and even there the plot holes were big enough to fit a small elephant.

The characters that I despised the most were the girl, honestly, she arrives knowing nothing and acts like a lil b? Why? Where is the context for those side eyes and that pettiness? But at least she stops pretty quickly (since everything is rushed anyway)

But what baffles me is that everyone loved Kluer, and found him cute. He seemed nice at first but then he quickly escalated to being kinda creepy to me, to then show his true colors.
And honestly, I hated how he behaved and how he decided that respecting others came after his own personal feelings.

Not cute, pretty annoying and then VERY annoying. Nah, everyone being sorry for him or finding him super cute, while I was literally fuming.

I guess this BL can be someone's cup of tea but if you want a story that makes sense, that isn't rushed, with well-rounded characters, maybe look for a different one.
Else if you're looking for a bl that needed at least another episode, but also felt way too long to watch... give it a go.

start from the 1st episode, this series caught me hooked already. I really like how they delivered the story so well. it's a shame it's only 8 episodes. it would be better if it ends at episode 10 or 12. plus, i like the personality of all the characters there, especially plawan. that's the personality i would like to possess when the ex of someone that i like appears. i also like the personality of chef oab because his strictness suits him more. I'm also thankful that khao suay didn't fall into an annoying brat here. overall, i like the story, acting and everything. deserves to watch and rewatch at all. hoping for their future series together, i would like to see you guys as main character in the screen again.

This Love Doesn't Have Long Beans is a title long enough to make me excited with what the story is about and consider me pleasantly surprised because I really like this one. I will be honest and say that I am slowly losing interest in watching BL from Thailand but they are the main country who is doing them justice because despite of the good shows they are spewing is a ton of really shitty shows so I am always glad to find ones that are actually good and are presenting a really good story worth exploring. Lucking, This Love Doesn't Have Long Beans is one of them. I want to talk about the title first because this is a really long title and I am really happy with what they did here. The reason being is that they chose a title that will instantly pique your interest as a viewer as what the story is about. It is not a name combination or a something weird or cheesy. Instead, it is something that is carefully thought out and may not be central but served enough relevance to the story to make it worth watching. The story on the other hand is pretty basic haters to lovers trope when Plawan decided to enter a competition where he really knew nothing about just for the money that he will be getting from the rival of the boss so the secret and the main problem was already established but the supposed villain of the story is actually the secondary couple in the show together with Plawan’s bestfriend so he may not be that bad which will lead to you thinking that there will be an easier resolution for the main problem and the betrayal aspect is the only one that would make things worse here and it did. Oab learned about this betrayal and he knew about it long time now but I have to say that I am still surprised with where the story went because it had pretty interesting way of handling the story. They did not rush us towards the ending or at least that is what they think. I still feel rushed and it needed longer healing time but I can somehow forgive them because they were able to establish the relationship of Oab and Plawan smoothly by making us watch the love story slowly grow. This is what made it worth it for me because we got the main storyline going while the relationship is blossoming so that it did not have much things that confused the shit out of me in this. Instead, we got a good beginning to the relationship to actually respect the way that they are communicating. They are communicating with each other really well. It is not perfect but good enough to make you notice and root for them and this is why I did. I am happy with what they did and where they went. I also have huge crush on JJ. I love him.

I don't hate myself enough to finish this

I saw a cut from some NC scene that looked nice and got me here, but I wasn't prepared for how bad this bl is. I really think the high score is just because the NC scenes, because the story makes no sense at all! The mc is hateful and annoying, the chef is whatever (at least he is cute), none of the participants fit the requirements for the competition, especially the mc he never touched a cutlery that wasn't just for eating. Evething happens just because they need to happen to bring the main couple together and not because it makes sense according to the story.
Not even the second couple is good, tragic bg, so he needs to be liked. BORING

I've watched another bad bl recently, but at least the other one I managed to finish it

Undeniable chemistry

I enjoyed this, I was annoyed at time because of some side characters

Plawan was a bit annoying at first, but not that much to me.

For 8 eps, the flow of the plot was okay and the ending didn’t feel rushed. I didn’t dislike the cooking aspect of the show either

The best thing about this is definitely for me the chemistry between chef and Plawan. And seriously, one of the best kisses I have seen in a BL and we get quite a lot kiss and NC scenes. It was really fire. I loved their bickering and interactions. The breakup was needed and in the end all chef needed was an apology. I liked that.
I still find it funny how chef needed to get some, one last time ahah, before telling Plawan he knew about him working for Meta and leaving

The girl (chef ex) was really annoying and I’m still annoyed it take quite long for chef to set boundaries. Kleen got on my nerves too… but in the end everything got sorted out

For the second couple, I think they were interesting at first and the tension was good. but in the end, didn’t much like them that much. I don’t like how Meeta character became (and this thing with money was annoying), so clingy and everything, I don’t know. And it was pretty slow

Another point, I had some good laughs

So, I recommend, it pretty short, good chemistry and entertaining

PLEASE WATCH

I am actually obsessed with this show, having to wait a whole week for each episode is probably the hardest thing I have ever done. I really liked the main couple when they were in pitbabe together and so when I saw that they were going to be starring in their own BL I knew I had to watch it. The first episode was a little slow but after that its literally perfect. The second couple isnt my fav but I am also normally not a huge fan of side couples in general, but if you like that then I think you will enjoy them.
Also the soundtrack is absolutely fire and its like different from the normal bl soundtracks that we always hear.
